Ding dong… The Venezuelan dictator is dead at the age of 58 from pelvic cancer. He literally rotted from within, just as his soul did. Good riddance, to Marxist rubbish.

But Hugo Chavez’s comrades in the US and across the planet mourn his passing. Grief stricken Leftists such as Sean Penn…who tweeted: I have lost a dear friend, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Danny Glover, Michael Moore, Jimmy Carter, Oliver Stone, Naomi Campbell, Kevin Spacey, Courtney Love, Barack Obama, SEIU (who held a memorial) and a cadre of Hollywood reds are devastated by the loss of their Marxist brethren, who in the end, begged that his subjects not let him die. Iran, Bolivia, China and El Salvador all held tributes to their evil compadre. George Galloway of Britain called him a ‘Spartacus.’ You are who you associate with and mourn for. A fitting end to a crushing, cowardly rule. I don’t hold much hope that his death will free Venezuela though. His second in command will probably succeed him and he is just as insane and just as ruthless as his mentor. May G-d have mercy on Venezuela.

All throughout the media I hear how Chavez was a champion of the underdog, the poor of Venezuela. Really? The only one Chavez championed was himself. He was rumored to be worth approximately 2 billion when he died. People are starving and dying in the streets of Venezuela, while this evil loon ransacked every dime he could from their coffers. Oil kept Chavez fat and sassy until death came knocking.

In fact, Venezuela sounds eerily like America these days. We are following in her Marxist footsteps in so many ways. Our unemployment rate (according to the sycophant Obama media) fell to 7.7% today. What an incredible manipulation (which will be revised in days no doubt) — a record 89,304,000 Americans are now not in the labor force, having given up during Obama’s Keynesian reign of terror — 296,000 fewer are employed since January. The real unemployment rate is closer to 25%, but the elite in power will never tell the truth. They’ll just keep spewing propaganda figuring we’ll believe anything they say. Just like the Venezuelans.

For instance… Before Chavez left this planet for a warmer climate, on paper, it showed that incomes were increasing in Venezuela. In reality, inflation decreased household income by 8.8%. But goods rose by 27% in costs. Gee, sounds a lot like what America is experiencing doesn’t it? Brought to you by American Marxists. Their currency has been downgraded several times as well – 5 times in fact. The last time devaluing it by a whopping 32%. He tripled their national deficit and their debt increased by 90% in his previous term. They are on the verge of bankruptcy and we are right behind them. He certainly enacted his redistributionist, welfare state-expanding, centrally planned economic agenda well, didn’t he?

Some facts on Chavez:

• He created worker-owned “cooperatives” to act as a substitute for corporations, which he relentlessly propped up with government funding.
• He started grocery stores that would deliberately sell food below market value so as to run capitalist alternatives out of business.
• Eventually, he set price controls on food.
• He seized land belonging to rich Venezuelans and redistributed it to poor ones.
• He nationalized telephone companies, electricity companies, cement production, food plants (even those owned by foreign entities), coffee plants, rice fields and banks.
• He pulled Venezuela out of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, accusing both entities of exploitation.
• He even seized control of the media.
• His slogan was: “Motherland, socialism or death.”

Chavez had swollen the ranks of Venezuela’s public employees to 2.5 million in a country where the 15-64 population numbered only 18 million. With 1 public employee to every 7 working adults, the entire mess was subsidized by oil exports and debt. When the price of oil fell, only debt was left.

Those public employees became Chavez’s campaign staff with no choice but to vote for him or see their positions wiped out to keep the economy from crashing. And they won him one last election.

The dead tyrant leaves behind the lowest GDP growth rate and highest inflation rate in Latin America. He leaves behind an economy where more than half the population depends on government benefits or government jobs. He leaves behind a giant pile of debt for the people and 2 billion dollars in misappropriated oil money for his heirs.

It seems to me that Obama has indeed turned America into Venezuela. But, it would seem, that Chavez was not Leftist enough for many of those supporting Obama in the US. Which portends very bad things that Obama and his foot soldiers have in store for the American people, as if we didn’t already know that.

And if that is not sobering enough, let’s move on to the ghoulish. I tweeted on this yesterday when I heard that Chavez’s body would be put on permanent display — just like Joseph Stalin. So, the people of Venezuela will be subjected to this ghastly reminder of repression forever. Sickening. The Castro-loving Commie just won’t stay dead. The only thing Chavez succeeded at was bringing the equality of crushing poverty to his people and yet he will lie in state for people to view — or else. Evil despots don’t die, they morph into martyrs and political tools for oppression.

People seem to have forgotten, that this so-called ‘peaceful Marxist’ came to power after two violent military coups. Over 300 people died so he could seize control. Bumps in the road, I’m sure. He then changed the constitution, eliminating the senate and extending his term. A revolt ensued. He then fired 18,000 workers and gave complete control to the unions which he himself controlled. Wait a minute… Deja vu – the feeling that you have been screwed by this Marxist before — only his name is Obama.

So, while a Venezuelan despot has gone to his richly deserved spot in Hades, our American Marxist government and elites mourn him. They have certainly emulated him and will keep doing so as they bring the lid down on America and attempt to finish her destruction. Can you smell a revolt brewing?

Two corrupt Dems head US Delegation to the Chavez funeral.  First up, Congressman Gregory Meeks who in 2011 was listed as one of the most corrupt members of Congress, making him the perfect choice. And the second man is none other than Congressman William Delahunt.  Massachusetts wanted bargain oil prices to help it through the winter. Venezuelan tyrant Hugo Chávez wanted influence in Washington. Leave it to the Congressman from the Commonwealth and a Kennedy to close the deal.  So now the United States sent two corrupt Democrat Congressmen, who had dubious relationships with Chavez, as the American delegation to Chavez’s funeral.

The only question is why they decided to leave out Sean Penn.  But not to worry, the Reverend Jesse Jackson Jr. was there along with two dozen disreputable world leaders not only to bid farewell to the late Hugo Chavez at a lengthy, emotional funeral, but to speak. Rev. Jackson, the man who helped arrange the Obama marriage, portrayed the Venezuelan president as a hero of the poor, while pushing for the nation’s rapprochement with the United States. Jesse Jackson also compared Marxist Hugo Chavez to First 15 US Presidents.

"How do we measure a great leader? By how he treats the least of these," Jackson said in his eulogy, standing before Chavez’s flag-draped coffin at the military academy in Caracas. "Hugo fed the hungry. He lifted the poor. He raised their hopes. He helped them realize their dreams."  Really?  Maybe he should have done a little homework before going there, but as we have all learned… once you have drunk the Kool-Aid, facts don’t matter.  AskMarion~

Obama's 47 Percent Approval Lowest of Any President at This Point

President Obama's job approval rating has fallen to 47 percent in the latest Gallup poll, the lowest ever recorded for any president at this point in his term.

Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and even Richard Nixon all had higher approval ratings 10-and-a-half months into their presidencies. Obama's immediate predecessor, President George W. Bush, had an approval rating of 86 percent, or 39 points higher than Obama at this stage. Bush's support came shortly after he launched the war in Afghanistan in response to the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said he doesn't "put a lot of stock" in the survey by Gallup, which has conducted presidential approval polls since 1938, longer than any other organization.

"If I was a heart patient and Gallup was my EKG, I'd visit my doctor," Gibbs said in response to questions from Fox. "I'm sure a six-year-old with a Crayon could do something not unlike that. I don't put a lot of stake in, never have, in the EKG that is daily Gallup trend. I don't pay a lot of attention to the meaninglessness of it."

Gallup Editor-in-Chief Frank Newport responded: "Gibbs said that if Gallup were his EKG, he would visit his doctor. Well, I think the doctor might ask him what's going on in his life that would cause his EKG to be fluctuating so much. There is, in fact, a lot going on at the moment -- the health care bill, the jobs summit, the Copenhagen climate conference and Afghanistan."

The new low comes as Obama struggles to overhaul the nation's health care system and escalates America's involvement in the Afghanistan war. He is also presiding over a deep and prolonged recession, with unemployment at 10 percent.

"There's no doubt Obama's 47 percent is mainly a result of the continuing bad economy," said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia's Center for Politics. "But there is also a growing concern about government spending and debt, and a sense that Obama is trying to do too much, too soon."

He added: "President Obama has reason to be concerned about his ratings. Even in tough times, presidents have usually been able to stay above the critical 50 percent mark in the first year, when the public is most inclined to give the new incumbent the benefit of the doubt."

Obama officials have not always shown disdain for Gallup. During last year's presidential campaign, Obama adviser David Plouffe, trumpeted "the latest Gallup poll" to reporters because it showed that 53 percent of Americans did not find Obama Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, "trustworthy."

When Gallup began taking presidential approval polls 71 years ago, Franklin Roosevelt had been president for more than five years. During his remaining time in office, his job approval rating never fell below 48 percent.

The next 11 presidents, both Democrats and Republicans, all had higher job approval ratings than Obama at this stage of their tenure. Their ratings were:

-- Bill Clinton, 52 percent
-- George H.W. Bush, 71 percent
-- Ronald Reagan, 49 percent
-- Jimmy Carter, 57 percent
-- Gerald Ford, 52 percent
-- Richard Nixon, 59 percent
-- Lyndon Johnson, 74 percent
-- John Kennedy, 77 percent
-- Dwight Eisenhower, 69 percent
-- Harry Truman, 49 percent

The poll is an average of a three-day tracking of 1,529 adults taken Dec. 4-6. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

RUSH: The Reverend Jackson is not happy about this. Last night on PBS on the Tavis Smiley show, Tavis Smiley talked to the Monochrome Coalition chairman and whatever else he is, the Reverend Jackson, and the question: "Some think the blame Bush rhetoric no longer applies that Obama used successfully in the campaign."
JACKSON: He essentially owns more and more. When Bush left office there were 30,000 troops in Afghanistan. We're now going to a hundred thousand, so we kind of own the Afghanistan mission. We bailed out the banks. We kind of own a plan now where you have more foreclosures than you do have modifications. We're losing jobs by the droves. Unemployment levels are disastrously high. We are the canary in the mine. We're on the front side of its pain and the backside of its prosperity. Urban America is black, but Appalachia basically is white. We must not be seen as marginal America.

RUSH: I'll tell you what's going on here with this. The Reverend Jackson -- and I got two more stories in the stack today about how black unemployment is through the roof, black unemployment is terrible, the black frame of mind is terrible, they're depressed, Obama is not doing anything for them. How is that Hoax and Change working for you? They're all livid. I mean they thought there was going to be an exact 180 degree economic reversal and it's done nothing but get bad for everybody, but they're especially upset about it because they look at him as one of them and now they feel abandoned. I'm sure Tiger Woods' choice of females is not helping 'em out with their attitudes there, either. Folks, about that, I got a great piece to share with you from Lisa Schiffren at the AmericanThinker.com on the parallels between Tiger Woods and Barack Obama. The theme is that both are the result of lies, falsely crafted images that are in no way representative of who they really are. I'll get to that in a mere moment.

One more sound bite here from Reverend Jackson. Oh, and there's total disarray over in Copenhagen, something called the Danish texts. Poor nations have found out they're going to get screwed with the climate talks over there. Oh, yeah, it's big. And then Dingy Harry is out there with his slavery comment. I don't know, folks. I have faith in all things good, and this stuff just cannot triumph, at the end of the day it just won't. This is utter disaster. Anyway, back to the Reverend Jackson, Tavis Smiley said, "How do black leaders, how do black folk, how do black people make that case to the president? In other words, how do you push back on him respectfully when you know that black folk in the 90th percentile love this president?"

JACKSON: They also love to keep their houses and they also love their jobs. So the issue is about policy. It's not about our appreciation of the impact of this presidency. We found through the attorney generals that these major banks profiled blacks and Latinos. They circumvented community reinvestment laws. As opposed to getting a bailout, they should be facing the courts for breaking the law. On the black and brown side is where the water came in the boat. But the water didn't stop. It kept on coming, the water kept coming across. A rising tide will not lift those boats stuck at the bottom that have holes in them.

RUSH: So there's trouble in paradise out there. The Reverend Jackson, his anger is pretty muted here but he's pretty mad. (interruption) What is it, Snerdley? What is it? Hm-hm. Hm-hm. Well, no, he said it's about skin color thing, but, look, the bottom line is, all of this was supposed to have vanished. We were supposed to have a postracial country. Look at the divisions that have sprung up. Look at the partisanship, the divide has gotten wider. The Reverend Jackson is not happy at all, and all of it was so predictable. Look, I'm a little long. Black Caucus War Against Obama

A civil war is breaking out within the left of the Democratic Party pitting the Congressional Black Caucus against the first African-American president.

The battle began when California Congresswoman Maxine Waters complained publicly about the Administration’s failure to do more to help minority-owned businesses in the current recession. (Translation: In the new Stimulus of “Jobs” Bill making its way through Congress, they want a larger take). It continued yesterday when ten members of the Black Caucus refused to participate in a meeting of the House Banking Committee which was considering the bill to restructure financial regulations forcing Chairman Barney Frank to push the bill through by the uncomfortable margin of only 31-27.

The latest shot in the battle was fired by Homeland Security Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss) a card carrying regular of the Black Caucus. Faced with the need to investigate the gate crashing at the White House during the recent state dinner for India, he chose to embarrass the Administration by subpoenaing White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers rather than quietly negotiating for her appearance.

That Thompson’s action was a deliberate slap in Obama’s face is obvious (even though the media has missed it). Since when does a liberal Democratic committee chairman embarrass a liberal Democratic president by forcing a liberal Democratic Social Secretary (from Chicago no less) to resist a subpoena to appear at a hearing? Since he wanted to send a message to Obama and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel that the Black Caucus did not like being taken for granted.

The merits of the controversy are obvious. What possible reason would a Social Secretary, for goodness sakes, have for the assertion of executive privilege that is usually reserved for issues of national security? Obviously, none. But Thompson chose his target well. He struck at the social core of the Chicago Mafia that runs the White House, probably striking within the Obama family as well.

You don’t do that to a president of your own party, your own ideology, and even your own race unless you want to make a point.

The friction between the Black Caucus and Obama escalated when Waters berated the Administration for failing to rework a business loan from Goldman Sachs to the Inner City Broadcasting Corporation. Inner City is run by Pierre Sutton, son of Percy Sutton, the long time media giant in the African-American community. Two weeks after she raised the issue in a meeting with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Emanuel, Goldman saw the light and restructured the loan.

Coming on top of liberal angst with the decision by the “peace” president to escalate the war in Afghanistan, this split with the black caucus comes at an awkward time.

But you pay a price when you mess with the African American Caucus and the Suttons. The Obama Administration is feeling it. It’s kind of fun to watch.

And Take Heart… Palin now as popular as Obama

Barack Obama has sunk to a new low in Gallup's job approval numbers. The polling firm reported Monday that Obama's approval rating had dropped to 47% in their rolling three day average.

Perhaps equally important, Gallup says 46% of the people they asked disapprove of the job Obama is doing as president.
Those numbers are almost identical to favorable/unfavorable numbers for Sarah Palin in a new CNN poll , which showed the former Alaska governor at 46% favorable and 46% unfavorable.

Given the Obamedia's unparalleled trashing of Palin and their sycophantic support of the One, these new numbers--even if temporary--bespeak two important points: the waning influence of the legacy media, and the appeal that Palin has to a substantial portion of the public.

Some Blacks Now Have Doubts About Obama

Americans of all political persuasions agree that the nation has problems. Big problems.

And here's where we all part company. The political left, who now control our government, thinks we need more government -- a lot more. Those on the right see our problems as the result of excess government and want to move things in the opposite direction.

The fact that Democrats, with their man in the White House, and control of both houses of Congress, are having difficulty getting their big government programs passed says something about the strength of the grass roots push back now taking place.

Stirring is even occurring among blacks.

According to the Pew Research Center, the president's approval rating nationwide is now 10 points lower than last April. Included in this is a three-point drop in his approval among blacks.

You might say, Star, a drop in approval ratings among blacks from 95 percent to 92 percent is trivial. But I say not so.

If we assume this reflects the 16 million blacks who voted for Obama last November, a three point shift means there are about a half million blacks who now have buyer's remorse.

This is meaningful. You take real risks going against the establishment in black America. Psychological risks, professional risks, and sometimes risks to personal safety. Peeling off a black who voted for Obama means moving heaven and earth.

Even a star like Bill Cosby incurred the wrath of the black establishment when he started talking about black families and personal responsibility. As result, he backed off and toned down his message.

Recall during the campaign, candidate Obama ruffled Jesse Jackson's feathers when he spoke about personal responsibility among black males. An inadvertently "on" microphone picked up Jackson saying that he wanted to castrate Obama (not exactly in that language).

The black conservative is not that rare freak of nature that so many think.

According to a Pew Research Center report, almost a third of blacks consider themselves conservative.

However, these folks have always been inclined to be quiet because of the social pressures and intimidation.

But this is changing.

Despite slurs, intimidation, and widely reported physical attacks from union thugs, a few brave black souls have showed up at tea party protest rallies.

I'm getting more and more calls from black conservatives around the country running for local office. I see black conservative Web sites popping up and there's even black rappers rapping a conservative message.

Who, after all, could know more about the lie about government and the pretense of political answers to life's problems than blacks?

It's black families that have been devastated by welfare state programs and black kids now trapped in hopeless public schools. And it's overwhelmingly black unborn children who never see the light of day.

How can blacks who have their eyes open not have noticed that it was Obama who killed the D.C. school voucher program and sent black children back to one of the worst public school systems in the country.

The Cato Institute reports that, after adjusting for inflation, funds spent on public schools have doubled since 1970, with no improvement in education performance and a decrease in graduation rates. This is government at work.

The Israelites wandered for 40 years after they left Egypt, giving time for the slave generation to disappear and for a new generation to bear the responsibilities of freedom.

Next year marks 40 years since the decade of the '60s, which gave us the civil rights movement.

I see a new generation of freedom loving, church going black Americans coming on the scene. Many voted for Obama out of racial pride. But their values and aspirations for freedom are causing a change of heart.

Should Christians Honor Barack Obama?

Christians, who take the scriptures seriously, are about as happy about an Obama presidency as a pig is a bacon sandwich. Stoked we ain’t. And it isn’t because Barack is black. Personally, I think it is great that our nation has a black president, and I say this officially ends all the “oppressive white devil” blather. Yep, no mas “blanco el Diablo,” por favor. We have now “evolved.”

This means Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton can formally zip it. I think that’s why Jackson was crying last Tuesday night … he done. A black man is now the most important person on the planet, and it’s not Jesse! Plus, Jackson’s on tape saying he wanted to cut Obama’s balls off, and now Barack’s going to spread Jesse’s wealth. That’ll make a grown man cry. So close, Jackson, yet so far away.

Back to the church. What concerns Christians who are governed by the scriptures, and not Oprah, are Obama’s liberal-to-the-core stances on abortion, marriage, socialism, freedom of speech, big government, taxes, guns and his associations with Marxist radicals. That’s what freaks believers who actually believe, and not, I say, not the levels of melanin in Obama’s epidermis.

As a believer, here’s how I’m trying to deal with this: If God is omniscient then … uh … he knew this was coming; if he is omnipotent then … hello … he allowed this to happen; and if he’s still omnipresent (and I’m pretty sure he still is) then he is still with us. So, essentially, providentially, we got what God wanted us to have. Time will tell whether or not He’s propping us up for a major national butt whuppin’ or our tricky God is going to bring a back door unexpected blessing from someone most Christians assume God would never use.

Now, if we truly follow “Hey-soos,” then we’re commanded, not suggested, to respect and pray for those who have authority over us. We cannot pick and choose which texts we’re going to obey and disobey when it comes to Christian conduct. I wish we could, because I’d like to slap the snot out of my neighbor who blares techno music from his balcony at 4:00 a.m., but alas, I can’t.

“Honor,” biblically speaking, in Greek, according to Yahweh, means not to be a braying d-bag like Al Franken, and “pray” for our leaders denotes all kinds of prayers, not just the “now I lay me down to sleep” stuff. Matter of fact, for a type of prayer that gets all the attention of Michael Moore’s personal Gutbuster DVD, check out James Adams’ book War Psalms of the Prince of Peace. This is an interesting book on a certain kind of biblical entreaty commonly utilized by Jesus and the saints in the Old and New Testament. I guarantee you have never heard these prayers prayed, preached or sang lately in your churches. Google it (or just click below), get two copies (one for you and one for your pastor) and get back with me on how they have spiced up your prayer time. Our nation could depend on it.

Now back to the issue of honor. Christian, you don’t want to mimic the unhinged loons on the left who sport Bush Derangement Syndrome with an equally obnoxious Barack Derangement Syndrome, do you? Also, just so you do not misinterpret what I mean when I say “honor,” I’m not talking about wearing buttsmacker lip balm. True honor means we show respect and … I said AND … oppose, reprove or rebuke Obama when we think he’s wrong. The Christian is commanded to do this if he or she truly loves someone. We just gotta make sure we do it with dignity and don’t sound like the nasally, nerve-gratingly nasty demon toad lady named Janeane Garofalo.

Christian, are we really surprised McCain got McDusted? What did we think was going to happen in this election? Did we really believe McCain was going to become president in this TV-addicted, American Idol-addled culture? Huh? We can’t run a guy who ticks off his base and looks like Uncle Fester - hero or not - against an electric Tiger Woods who has a billion bucks and a huge cult following. Haven’t we learned anything from Dancing with the Stars? Leachman was destined to lose to Lucci. McCain/Palin had a snowball’s chance in Miami of winning this thing.

Speaking of Palin: To Fox News’ Carl Cameron and the McCain campaign punks who are dissing Palin, you dingleberries are truly pathetic. What’s next? Are you going to spray-paint old people at the mall? Drown some kittens? Pull the legs off spiders? All of you are a disgrace and are not worthy enough to unlatch Palin’s pumps.

Finally, my Christian hope is this: Hopefully now the church will officially get off its backside and go look for its dust-covered bible it uses to read and believe. After we find our forsaken sacred text and once again peruse its pages, I hope there is widespread and heartfelt repentance for whizzing on its precepts. In addition, I hope that conservatives, after having had our butts handed to us, will turn our attention to a search and rescue mission for the baton that was lost when Reagan left office, and then attempt to hand it to someone on the right who has more unction than that of a hinge.

Jesse Jackson: Obama Will 'Ignore Zionists'

Jesse Jackson is back, and that may not be good news for Barack Obama. The Chicago-based civil rights leader made the front pages of Israeli newspapers today after he told an interviewer that Obama’s presidency will remove the clout of “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.” The comments, contained in a New York Post column Tuesday, drew immediate rebuke from some Jewish groups and the Obama campaign. Appearing at an event hosted by the World Policy Forum in Evian, France, Jackson said that an Obama administration will shake things up in the Middle East. “Decades of putting Israel's interests first” would end, said Jackson, who stressed he was only speaking as a supporter of Obama, not the campaign. “Obama is about change. And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it.” That apparently didn’t sit well with the candidate, who right now is worried a bit more about his place in the upcoming election. Obama’s supporters are mobilizing to reassure elderly Jews, who are concerned about his Muslim ties and his previous statements supporting Palestinian rights, that the Democrat will remain a strong supporter of Israel. American Jews, an overwhelmingly Democratic constituency, are a key demographic in Florida, a battleground state. “Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. is not an adviser to the Obama campaign and is therefore in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama's views on Israel and foreign policy,” Obama national security spokeswoman Wendy Morigi said in a statement dismissing Jackson’s “false charges.” “As he has made clear throughout his career and throughout this campaign, Barack Obama has a fundamental commitment to a strong U.S.-Israel relationship,’’ the statement said. “As president, he will ensure that Israel can defend itself from every threat it faces, stand with Israel in its quest for a secure peace with its neighbors and use all elements of American power to end Iran's illicit nuclear program." Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Jackson said that President George W. Bush “was so afraid of a snafu and of upsetting Israel that he gave the whole thing a miss. Barack will change that," because, as long as the Palestinians haven't seen justice, the Middle East will “remain a source of danger to us all.” The American Jewish Committee (AJC) immediately condemned Jackson's remarks. “Rev. Jackson's remarks, which appeared in an interview with the journalist Amir Taheri in today's New York Post, echo classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power,” AJC Executive Director David A. Harris told The Jerusalem Post. “This statement, regrettably, is not the first troubling comment by Rev. Jackson regarding Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.” “As poll after poll has revealed, over a span of decades, the United States is deeply committed to Israel because the vast majority of Americans, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, identify with Israel as a proven friend and ally,” said Harris. “It is this commonality of shared values and shared interests, and not Jackson's conspiratorial notions of power, that unite Israel and America,” Harris said. This isn’t the first time Jackson has embarrassed Obama. Last summer he made news when he criticized the candidate for talking down to his black supporters in front of a live mike as he awaited a television interview.
