My all-time favorite author is Dean Koontz. He has a way of telling a story that is absolutely riveting, humorous and horrifying at the same time. There’s a story here somewhere for Dean – I can sense evil from The Corner of My Eye. And it is fast approaching like a malevolent storm intent on sweeping mankind away with sinister glee bubbling up from its chaotic depths. The story line is unfolding with good and evil lines drawn and the players taking sides with no guarantee of the outcome, but plenty of ensured carnage. Let’s set the stage, shall we?

One of the first things that happens before full-blown war breaks out typically is that embassies are closed and diplomats are recalled or expelled. It is a precursor to the beginning of festivities on both sides.

This past week. Canada found the spine we seemed to have misplaced and declared Iran a terrorist regime. They closed their embassy in Iran and brought their ambassador and diplomats home. They closed Iran’s embassy in Canada and kicked out their ambassador and diplomats. They also issued the strongest travel warning available to their citizens telling them in no uncertain terms, don’t even think of going to Iran and if you are there, get the hell out.

Pressed several times by reporters about why Canada was taking this action now, Baird rattled off a long list of grievances Canada has with Iran:

• Iran refuses to comply with the United Nations resolutions pertaining to its nuclear program
• Increasing military assistance to the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad
• Iran shelters and “materially supports” terrorist groups
• Routine threats to the existence of the state of Israel
• Repeated violations of the Vienna Convention which governs diplomatic relations between most countries of the world
• “Racist anti-Semitic rhetoric and incitement to genocide,” Baird said.
• Worst violators of human rights.

“Under the circumstances, Canada can no longer maintain a diplomatic presence in Tehran,” Baird said. “There’s a just a long list of reasons why we’re coming to this decision.”

Baird said all Canadian diplomats have already left Iran.

A worldwide caliphate is forming once again with Iran at or near the center of the vortex. The Muslim Brotherhood is in control, with a great deal of help from Barack Obama while he stays true to his Muslim roots and keeps pushing taquiyya to the infidels in America. The American President is pushing diplomacy between Israel and Iran just long enough for Iran to get fully armed to wipe Israel off the face of the planet. He is clearly anti-Israel (the events at the Charlotte DNC National Convention surrounding the platform make that even more evident.) and pro-Islam. Obama spouts support for Israel while ensuring her demise and propping up her enemies. Talk about two-faced. And Netanyahu has had just about enough of Obama’s lies and deceptions.

It was reported only once that I heard that platform committee members said the platform changes  at the DNC including the removal of the word God, the designation as Jerusalem was Israel’s capital as well as two other major references to our allegiance to  Israel were purposely removed to align the parties platform with the beliefs of President Obama.

On September 28th, Obama and Netanyahu will meet at the UN. But adding insult to injury, Ahmadinejad will address the UN on Yom Kippur – Israel’s Day of Atonement and their highest holy day. What a monstrous insult to Israel. This whole meeting reminds me seriously of the bar scene from Star Wars. It’s a freakfest that highlights evil everywhere possible. Netanyahu will be a light in the darkness there – may G-d protect him.

Time is very short now and tiny Israel is going to have to decide when to fight. She will not wait for America – she can’t afford to. Her survival is at stake. As Danny Danon, the MK of Israel has said, an ally is someone who takes action. This is laid at Obama’s feet, not the American people:

In fact, Obama’s actions are fanning antisemitism here in the states. Hatred is on the rise against Jews and Christians across the land of the free and the home of the brave. And Obama is stomping on our Constitution and rights every chance he gets.

For those that think this only involves Israel and Iran, or at the most the Middle East, think again. We will be drawn into this war. There is no way we can’t. Not only is Israel our closest ally, Iran is our worst enemy. There is an argument to be made that Obama would love a war to break out as he sees it as a pathway to reelection. Americans should review that scenario carefully. If war breaks out, we would be much safer with Romney at the helm. At least he has a spine and morals.

Americans should also consider the very real possibility of an attack on the US. Last week, Iran stated that shortly they would be stationing their navy just outside of US waters. All the better to hit us with an EMP or 3. But, they don’t need a navy… a cargo ship would do nicely.

Then comes the warm and fuzzy news that Iran is prepared to launch terrorist attacks from South America against us. You know, that land mass we have been studiously ignoring and hoping it would just go away… Well, it didn’t. From WND:

As reported earlier this year, terror cells have been placed on high alert to attack targets in the U.S. and Europe should Iran be attacked. Hundreds of terror cells have infiltrated America and, in collaboration with Hezbollah, are awaiting orders to strike American targets.

Thousands of cells have also been placed in Latin America.

“The Quds Force has established a command and control center in both Bolivia and Venezuela,” a former Iranian official with knowledge of the regime’s terror network recently revealed. “Though it has presence in Europe and other parts of the world, it has focused on Latin America. Thousands of such cells have been placed in Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Venezuela.”

A recent report from within Nicaragua indicated that Iran has established a training base in the northern part of that country, where operatives, including Hezbollah terrorists, are being readied for an attack on U.S. and Israeli interests should a war break out with Iran.

Hassan Abassi, a former Guard commander and a current strategist, has stated that many of the cells are of Latin American origin, including from Mexico, and that several hundred targets have been identified in the U.S. for a possible attack.

Yep, the Twelvers are gearing up to play RISK and we are embroiled in a political reality show. Remember, we are the Great Satan and Israel is the Little Satan. Guess who is number one on the radical Islamist apocalyptic dance card?

As the final “work of art” takes shape, and the seemingly unrelated squares of color and hue, of darkness and light, of hope and despair take their places in the greater picture, and the image begins to coalesce from a thousand apparently isolated dots, what is it we see when the rendering is complete?

Welcome to the beginning of World War III.

*And if this were not frightening enough, many people who do not really follow politics or even the news, at least not from any credible sources, will not realize that if this happens in October, before the election, that Obama had his hand in this, and will then naively not want to change presidents during a new war or major threat of our involvement in a new war.  Plus the left will push the ridiculous notion that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan don’t have enough experience in foreign policy… as if President Obama had any.  Wakeup… It is getting very dark out there and Obama-Biden are not the answer!  M~

DNC Platform Still Guts Pro-Israel Language

Right Truth:

After DNC delegates denying God (and Israel) three times, they still got their way in the end. Breitbart reports that full pro-Israel language from the 2008 platform has not been and will not be restored...

The current Democratic platform regarding Israel had a couple sentences restored yesterday:

Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.

But the full language of the 2008 platform is still gone:

The United States and its Quartet partners should continue to isolate Hamas until it renounces terrorism, recognizes Israel’s right to exist, and abides by past agreements. Sustained American leadership for peace and security will require patient efforts and the personal commitment of the President of the United States. The creation of a Palestinian state through final status negotiations, together with an international compensation mechanism, should resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by allowing them to settle there, rather than in Israel. All understand that it is unrealistic to expect the outcome of final status negotiations to be a full and complete return to the armistice lines of 1949.

Each and every sentence of this is important. If the Democratic Party no longer believes that the United States and its partners should isolate Hamas, refuses to acknowledge that return to 1949 armistice lines is disastrous, and doesn’t think that the so-called “right of return” which would destroy Israel as a Jewish state is a non-starter, there’s nothing to talk about: the Party has excised virtually every important element from its Israel plank.

President Obama saw this platform before it was approved. He did not object. He still does not object to the excision of anti-Hamas language and preconditions to negotiations that would actually make a lasting peace possible. The Democratic Party platform is still dramatically more anti-Israel than its past platforms. And yesterday’s fiasco was only the start of the problem. (Breitbart, hat tip 1389 Blog)

Both Charles Krauthammer and Dick Morris warned that people should not be confused. There is still quite a bit missing about Israel and America’s commitment to them that was previously in the Democrat platform that was removed and was not put back as part of today’s amended platform. This was an obvious political move since the content of the platform had been spotlighted, something Team Obama didn’t expect nor was prepared for. That was obvious yesterday when Senator Durbin went crazy after Bret Bair merely asked him why God and the other references to Israel had been removed.

You Can't be Pro-Obama and Pro-Israel

Since the day he took office, President Obama has been anti-Israel.

Barack Obama has failed to achieve the bipartisan results that he promised to seek while running for office. In fact, he has created a chasm between the political left and right in this country that is wider than it has ever been.

The president's tendency to shove his agenda down people's throats regardless of the merits, the biting partisan rhetoric that he aims at political opponents, the condescending way that he talks down to legislators with more experience and better ideas, the "this is not about me" mantra that he uses repeatedly to insult anyone who dares to challenge his ideas, and his incessant posturing are huge parts of the president's problem. President Obama has even managed to alienate the far left in his own party. Some say that's because he's too centrist, but anyone who calls Barack Obama a centrist has to ignore his long and sordid history of leftist positions on a broad range of issues and his radical far left friends and advisors.

The president has been able to unite one group, though -- the people of New York's 9^th congressional district. They call him The Uniter because he was able to accomplish something that no one had been able to do since before the Great Depression. In a heavily Jewish and Democratic district, Obama's treatment of Israel brought the voters together to elect a Republican. The message was loud and clear. They had had enough, and they weren't going to take any more.

Barack Obama is no Friend of Israel.

Since the day he took office, President Obama has been anti-Israel. He has taken advantage of every opportunity to snub Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu; he has created false hope among so-called "Palestinians"; and he has fomented problems in the Middle East that Israel is being forced to suffer through.

"Dithering" is an apt word for describing the president's policies regarding Israel. In a nutshell, it means that the president doesn't have an Israel policy. He makes it up as he goes along, and nothing is certain except that he has created a colossal mess in the entire Middle East for us and for Israel.

For example, what were the president's policies regarding freedom-seeking Arabs who wanted changes in their political systems during the Arab Spring? Hosni Mubarak, Egypt's president, had to go and so did Muammar Gaddafi, Libya's president. But what about Syrian President Bashar al-Assad? President Obama wasn't sure about him. As of December 1, 2011, the death toll in Syria was more than 4000 and rising, but the Obama administration has done precious little to quell the senseless violence perpetrated against the Syrian people by Mr. Assad.

President Obama's Israel policy is just as incoherent. At one point, Obama summoned Prime Minister Netanyahu to the White House for a tongue-lashing and a well-publicized, deliberate snub. After some political upheaval in the United States because of his Israel policies and rapidly changing events in the Middle East, Mr. Obama wasn't so sure about the Israel situation any longer, but he did hear something about the 1967 borders that sounded like a winner politically. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israel's 1967 border should be her permanent border, and so did Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Obama dithered in that direction, gave another speech, and created another ruckus. Problem is Israel's 1967 "border" and all the "borders" before it weren't borders at all. They were armistice lines. Israel has been fighting wars for survival since 1948, and each war has been defensive. At the end of each conflict, new armistice lines were created. The 1967 armistice line and those before it are not relevant in any way except as propaganda tools.

It was no coincidence that Obama delivered his "1967 Borders" speech just before Prime Minister Netanyahu was scheduled to arrive in Washington for an official visit. The outcry from people in this country who support Israel was strong and swift so the president backpedaled as best he could, but he also started pressuring Israel to agree to negotiate on the 1967 lines. Reports suggest that the pressure was intense, and in short order, the European Union came out in favor of the "1967 borders."

Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected the proposal, as he should have, but why would our president take the advice of Israel's enemies and make a major policy proposal concerning Israel's future without consulting Israel first? That makes absolutely no sense unless you realize that Barack Obama is no friend of Israel.

Trying to force Israel to accept indefensible borders is preposterous. It's a step in the process of eradicating Israel completely. If you took away all of the land that Israel has gained in wars for survival since 1948, Israel would have no land. That's exactly what Palestinian leaders want. In their world, Israel doesn't exist. Israel doesn't even appear on their maps and the logo for the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the United Nations that's in use today shows the entire land of Israel as "Palestinian" territory.

Israel is the only true friend that the United States has in the Middle East and maybe the world. Even more, Israel is on the frontline of the war between radical Islam and Western civilization. On the western border with Gaza, the Israeli people have been called upon to endure indiscriminate rocket attacks from Hamas with only a minimal response; they must contend with a belligerent Hezb'allah and an unstable Syria in the north; in the east, Jordan is in turmoil and many wonder if King Abdullah can survive; and in the south, Saudi Arabia and Egypt continue to be major exporters of radical Islam.

Making matters worse, Israel's relations with Jordan and Egypt (the only two Arab countries to have signed peace treaties with Israel) are in serious doubt. A few days ago, Jordan's King Abdullah went so far as to say that "Israel has an expiration date." With radical Islamists nipping at his heels, it wouldn't surprise me if King Abdullah suddenly decided to abrogate the peace treaty with Israel. Following the Muslim Brotherhood's recent election victory in Egypt, Middle East experts openly predicted that "Islamists may also seek to annul the 1979 Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, which could prompt Israel to seize the Sinai Peninsula for the fourth time in its history to create a strategic buffer zone." These developments don't bode well for peace in the Middle East.

This is the bottom line. Israel has no friends in the Middle East, and her enemies are growing stronger by the day. One of the most incendiary political questions today is whether Israel is preparing to strike Iran, but the fact is that with help from Iran, Israel's enemies are preparing to deliver what they think will be a death blow to Israel. Repeatedly over the years, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has boldly asserted that Iran intends to "wipe Israel off the map." The day has finally arrived when the Iranians think they are ready to launch a coordinated attack, and political instability in Syria may have prevented an attack in September.

Now more than ever before Israel needs a friend in the White House, and Barack Obama is not that person. After examining the facts, I am forced to conclude that you can't be pro-Obama and pro-Israel. They were talking about Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, who is working  with both leaders to stop Iran getting hold of a nuclear weapon. Great story, right?

In a “faux pas” for the ages, President Barack Obama conducted what he assumed was a private conversation about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with French President Nicolas Sarkozy after the G20 summit on Thursday. The only problem, however, was that the microphones the two men were wearing from their earlier press conference, had not in fact been turned off. What ensued was a major public embarrassment after both Obama and the French PM disparaged Netanyahu, saying they  cannot “stand” dealing with him.

According to a Monday report in the French website “Arret sur Images,” Sarkozy told Obama, “I cannot stand him [Netanyahu]. He is a liar.” Rather than exercising diplomacy, however, Obama hopped on the bash-wagon, reportedly telling Sarkozy: “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!”

Ynet adds:

The conversation apparently began with President Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington’s strong objection to the move.

The communication faux pas went unnoticed for several minutes, during which the conversation between the two heads of state – which quickly reverted to other matters – was all but open to members the press, who were still in possession of headsets provided by the Elysée for the sake of simultaneous translation during the G20 press conference.

The surprising lack of coverage may be explained by a report alleging that reporters present at the event were requested to sign an agreement to keep mum on the subject of the embarrassing comments.

According to Ynet, a member of the media confirmed Monday that “there were discussions between journalists and they agreed not to publish the comments due to the sensitivity of the issue.”

That explains why the world has not heard about the incident until now. Even more troubling, is the fact that journalists are meant to expose the truth, not hide it.

While it perhaps comes as no surprise that Obama harbors little affection for the Israeli PM, to have his true feelings revealed publicly in such a manner highlights the disingenuousness of any of his past complimentary sentiments for Netanyahu, and thus, is truly a cringe-worthy moment for the president.

This all comes to light at the same time as an IAEA report was leaked collaborating the fears that Iran is definitely collecting data needed to produce nuclear arms, not just for nuclear energy plants.  Full report will be released in the next few days.  It also comes to light as Israel considers preemptive strikes.

Columnist Judith Miller and political bundler Noele Nikpour among  others say this just verifies what they’ve been saying all along.  Obama is not a friend to Israel.  The big question is: Will this finally be enough for American Jews to wake-up?!?  There should be no Jewish votes for Obama left after this!

Netanyahu is a wise man who loves not only Israel but the United States.  Sarkowzy (France) and Obama are narcissistic elites who hate both Israel and the United States.  Wake-up!!

In interview with 'Post' former-Fox News broadcaster promises Jerusalem mega-event in August will be bipartisan, not an anti-Obama rally.

The “vaporization of Israel” and the end of the Western way of life as we know it could be on the horizon, American broadcaster Glenn Beck warned in an interview with The Jerusalem Post in the capital’s David Citadel Hotel on Wednesday.

Beck came to Israel to prepare for “Restoring Courage,” his Jerusalem mega-event set for late next month. He also addressed the Knesset’s Diaspora Affairs Committee, toured Gush Etzion and Sderot, and met with hi-tech entrepreneurs and Vice Premier Moshe Ya’alon.

“[Christian Israel supporters] see tragedy coming down the pike unless we take a stand,” Beck said. “Many of us were asleep for a long time. There are Americans who still say it will never happen, and everything will work out because we are America. But I know Americans outside of Washington who know that’s not necessarily true – not unless you change that behavior. We are waking up to what could be on the horizon: and what could be on the horizon is the vaporization of Israel and the end of the Western way of life as we know it,” he continued.

Beck said the way to prevent such a tragedy was to stand together, be righteous and decent and protect one another. To that end, he is organizing three separate events in Jerusalem under the Restoring Courage banner.

One will be for American-Christians and will be viewed in hundreds of churches in the US.

Beck said the event is intended to “get the Christian community in America to wake up and start standing up [for Israel].”
Another event will be more political, featuring Democratic Senator Joseph Lieberman, Republican presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Herman Cain, and at least two other candidates whom Beck declined to reveal.

He said the event would be attended by more than 30 American national political figures, 70 international politicians and citizen delegations from 100 countries around the world, including Bahrain.
At Beck’s request, Americans will be getting together to watch the event, bringing Jews and Christians together.

More than 700 viewing parties have already been organized.
“If it’s just an event, we failed,” he said. “It’s a launch of a movement of decent, like-minded, freedom-loving peaceful people who know the answer won’t come from Washington or Copenhagen. It’s not going to come from our political leaders, but from the people. It’s a freedom movement, something the Tel Aviv hi-tech people and the most Orthodox in Jerusalem would understand and come together for.”

Beck vowed that the event would be bipartisan and would not develop into a rally against US president Barack Obama. Even though he is one of Obama’s fiercest critics, Beck makes a point of not criticizing the American administration when he’s abroad.
“Now that we’re a global community, this answer doesn’t seem to make sense because a lot of people here in Israel watch my program, but I don’t talk about the policies of my country outside my country,” he said.

“If you want to know my opinion of the policies of the president, you can go to YouTube and see what I said in New York, and will continue to say in New York. There won’t be politics in this event. There will be values, virtues and principles.”

The world leader whom will more likely be a central focus of speeches at the event will be Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Much like Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Beck does not shy away from using Holocaust terminology when warning about Iran’s nuclearization.

Beck, who visited Auschwitz on his way to Israel for a documentary on Righteous Gentiles, says the world must learn from history.
“I was on the radio four years ago saying we’re passing all the exits,” he said.

“Soon it’s a cliff. You’ve got to turn the car around. Someone needs to find a solution. Come what may, will we be brave enough? I told Netanyahu when Bush was president, the Americans won’t do it. No one else is going to do it. Those [Iranian] people will build trains again [for the Jews]. [Ahmadinejad] said the Jews will burn in the fires of the Islamic fury. I think that’s pretty clear.”

The ‘specially designated country’ list is used by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to screen detained foreigners with an extra step, called a “Third Agency Check.” Overall, the countries on the list are unsurprising, with two exceptions this year. Israel was not on the  list in 2008, but now in 2011, it has been added. North Korea, on the other hand, was dropped from the list this year but was on it in 2008.

The Department of Homeland Security published the list of “specially designated countries”  as an appendix to a publicly released report on May 11 report entitled “Supervision of Aliens Commensurate With Risk.”

As reported by CNS News, ICE Spokeswoman Gillian Christensen claims the creation of the list began at least seven years ago during the Bush administration, and ICE was not responsible for creating it. According to a written statement by Christensen:

“The U.S. does not and never has considered Israel to have links to terrorism, but rather they are a partner in our efforts to combat global terrorism. Countries may have been included on the list because of the backgrounds of arrestees, not because of the country’s government itself.”

There are only five countries on the list that do not have majority Muslim populations, and those countries have had serious internal problems with radical Muslim terrorist groups or insurgencies.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) maintains a list of “specially designated countries” (SDCs) that “have shown a tendency to promote, produce or protect terrorist organizations or their members.”  The folks from these nations get special scrutiny when they enter the U.S.

Here’s the list:

West Bank
Algeria
Bahrain
Oman
Bangladesh
Pakistan
Philippines
Egypt
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Indonesia
Somalia
Iran
Sudan
Iraq
Syria
Israel
And so forth.

Israel?  Yes Israel is one of the thirty-six SDCs that “promote, produce, or protect” terrorists, according to the Obama Administration.  With splendid equality, they manage to list the world’s biggest victim alongside the globe’s leading perpetrators of terrorism.  Israelis coming into America get the same high level of scrutiny that Iranians do!

This information, which comes to us courtesy of the wonderful website www.ruthfullyyours.com, is as shocking as it is credible.
That Obama has tried to maintain that there is a moral equilibrium between Israel and the aggressive Arabs that surround it is well known.  But to list Israel as a promoter, protector, or producer of terrorism is quite extraordinary.

Doubtless some politically correct soul at ICE or in the State Department felt that the U.S. needed to show impartiality in making up its list and include non-Muslim countries.  What better rebuttal to those who would claim that the ICE is profiling Muslims than to say that Israel is also on the list?

But Israel’s inclusion on the list, to say nothing of the indignity inflicted on its citizens as they seek to enter the United States, is an insult and must be corrected at once!

The five countries on the list that do not have majority Muslim populations--Kazakhstan (47 percent Muslim), Eritrea (36.5 percent Muslim), Israel (16.9 percent Muslim), the Philippines (5 percent Muslim) and Thailand (4.6 percent)--have had internal problems with radical Muslim terrorists, as reported by the State Department.

Isn't that kind of blaming the victim?

ICE officers are supposed to check all aliens they take into custody against the Terrorist Watchlist, which includes the identities of individuals the U.S. government knows or reasonably suspects to be terrorists. When ICE holds a citizen from a “specially designated country” in its own detention facilities, according to the agency’s standing policy, the individual is also supposed to be run through a TAC. 
“In addition to the Terrorist Watchlist screening, ICE uses a Third Agency Check (TAC) to screen aliens from specially designated countries (SDCs) that have shown a tendency to promote, produce, or protect terrorist organizations or their members,” says the inspector general’s report.

“The purpose of the additional screening is to determine whether other agencies have an interest in the alien,” says the report. “ICE’s policy requires officers to conduct TAC screenings only for aliens from SDCs if the aliens are in ICE custody. As a result, ICE does not perform a TAC for the majority of its population of aliens, which includes those incarcerated or released under supervision.”

The inspector general recommended in the report that ICE change its screening policy “to require officers to conduct TAC screenings for all aliens from SDCs, not just those held in ICE detention facilities.”

OK lets get this straight. Based on new Department of Homeland Security procedures, illegal immigrants who are caught breaking the law will not be deported, but the Inspector General is no recommending that every Israeli that visits the US should be subject to special screening procedures. 
Wait! It gets crazier:

Even though the administration includes Israel among “specially designated countries” that it believes "have shown a tendency to promote, produce, or protect terrorist organizations or their members,” ICE Spokeswoman Gillian Christensen told CNSNews.com that the U.S. also considers Israel, as well as some other countries on the “specially designated countries” list, as partners in the struggle against terrorism. 
“The U.S. does not and never has considered Israel to have links to terrorism, but rather they are a partner in our efforts to combat global terrorism,” Christensen said in a written statement. “Countries may have been included on the list because of the backgrounds of arrestees, not because of the country’s government itself.”

OH Israelis will now be subject to extra screening because the country arrests terrorists.

That makes sense?

ICE declined to say who put Israel on the list or when Israel was put there. However, in her written statement, ICE spokeswoman Christensen said the “specially designated country” list had been created "at least" seven years ago--which would have been during the presidency of George W. Bush--and that ICE was not responsible for creating it.

True but when this final list was proposed in March 2008 Israel was not on the list but North Korea was, today that is reversed.

“So many federal agencies have created different lists that U.S. officials contemplated adopting a single one to streamline the process, Stark wrote,” said the McClatchey report. “The proposed list, which officials said had yet to be adopted, includes 35 countries, most with significant Muslim or Arab populations.”

“The group of agencies--which included ICE, the National Security Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection--not only recommended one list but also suggested an interagency definition of ‘special interest alien,’” said the McClatchey report. “Under the proposal, a special interest alien would be an immigrant with terrorist ties or an immigrant who by nationality, ‘ethnicity or other factors may have ties or sympathies’ with the listed country.”

The 35 countries plus the West Bank and Gaza that were on the proposed list discussed in the ICE memo uncovered by McClatchey in March 2008 almost exactly matches the “specially designated countries” on the list published by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General on May 11, 2011. There are only two differences: North Korea was on the list proposed in 2008; it is not on the May 2011 list. Israel was not on the list proposed in 2008; it is on the May 2011 list.

See how this administration cares about Israel?  Even though the list was already set, they made a change to put our ally on this special list. Boy oh boy, just like he is with Great Britain, whose Queen he gave an Ipod full of his speeches and Broadway Show tunes, Barack Obama is a real friend of Israel.
Obama always says that despite his constant criticism of  Israel, America will always have a special partnership with the Jewish State.  Now we understand he means putting Israel on a "special" terrorism watch list.

One of the most extraordinary features of Barack Obama's victory over John McCain was his capture of 78% of the Jewish vote. To be sure, there was nothing extraordinary about the number itself. Since 1928, the average Jewish vote for the Democrat in presidential elections has been an amazing 75%—far higher than that of any other ethno-religious group.

Yet there were reasons to think that it would be different in 2008. The main one was Israel. Despite some slippage in concern for Israel among American Jews, most of them were still telling pollsters that their votes would be strongly influenced by the positions of the two candidates on the Jewish state. This being the case, Mr. McCain's long history of sympathy with Israel should have given him a distinct advantage over Mr. Obama, whose own history consisted of associating with outright enemies of the Jewish state like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the historian Rashid Khalidi.

Nevertheless, Mr. Obama beat Mr. McCain among Jewish voters by a staggering 57 points. Except for African Americans, who gave him 95% of their vote, Mr. Obama did far better with Jews than with any other ethnic or religious group. Thus the Jewish vote for him was 25 points higher than the 53% he scored with the electorate as a whole; 35 points higher than the 43% he scored with whites; 11 points higher than the 67% he scored with Hispanics; 33 points higher than the 45% he scored with Protestants; and 24 points higher than the 54% he scored with Catholics.

These numbers remind us of the extent to which the continued Jewish commitment to the Democratic Party has become an anomaly. All the other ethno-religious groups that, like the Jews, formed part of the coalition forged by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1930s have followed the rule that increasing prosperity generally leads to an increasing identification with the Republican Party. But not the Jews. As the late Jewish scholar Milton Himmelfarb said in the 1950s: "Jews earn like Episcopalians"—then the most prosperous minority group in America—"and vote like Puerto Ricans," who were then the poorest.

Jews also remain far more heavily committed to the liberal agenda than any of their old ethno-religious New Deal partners. As the eminent sociologist Nathan Glazer has put it, "whatever the promptings of their economic interests," Jews have consistently supported "increased government spending, expanded benefits to the poor and lower classes, greater regulations on business, and the power of organized labor."

As with these old political and economic questions, so with the newer issues being fought out in the culture wars today. On abortion, gay rights, school prayer, gun control and assisted suicide, the survey data show that Jews are by far the most liberal of any group in America.

Most American Jews sincerely believe that their liberalism, together with their commitment to the Democratic Party as its main political vehicle, stems from the teachings of Judaism and reflects the heritage of "Jewish values." But if this theory were valid, the Orthodox would be the most liberal sector of the Jewish community. After all, it is they who are most familiar with the Jewish religious tradition and who shape their lives around its commandments.

Yet the Orthodox enclaves are the only Jewish neighborhoods where Republican candidates get any votes to speak of. Even more telling is that on every single cultural issue, the Orthodox oppose the politically correct liberal positions taken by most other American Jews precisely because these positions conflict with Jewish law. To cite just a few examples: Jewish law permits abortion only to protect the life of the mother; it forbids sex between men; and it prohibits suicide (except when the only alternatives are forced conversion or incest).

The upshot is that in virtually every instance of a clash between Jewish law and contemporary liberalism, it is the liberal creed that prevails for most American Jews. Which is to say that for them, liberalism has become more than a political outlook. It has for all practical purposes superseded Judaism and become a religion in its own right. And to the dogmas and commandments of this religion they give the kind of steadfast devotion their forefathers gave to the religion of the Hebrew Bible. For many, moving to the right is invested with much the same horror their forefathers felt about conversion to Christianity.

All this applies most fully to Jews who are Jewish only in an ethnic sense. Indeed, many such secular Jews, when asked how they would define "a good Jew," reply that it is equivalent to being a good liberal.

But avowed secularists are not the only Jews who confuse Judaism with liberalism; so do many non-Orthodox Jews who practice this or that traditional observance. It is not for nothing that a cruel wag has described the Reform movement—the largest of the religious denominations within the American Jewish community—as "the Democratic Party with holidays thrown in," and the services in a Reform temple as "the Democratic Party at prayer."

As a Jew who moved from left to right more than four decades ago, I have been hoping for many years that my fellow Jews would come to see that in contrast to what was the case in the past, our true friends are now located not among liberals, but among conservatives.

Of course in speaking of the difference between left and right, or between liberals and conservatives, I have in mind a divide wider than the conflict between Democrats and Republicans and deeper than electoral politics. The great issue between the two political communities is how they feel about the nature of American society. With all exceptions duly noted, I think it fair to say that what liberals mainly see when they look at this country is injustice and oppression of every kind—economic, social and political. By sharp contrast, conservatives see a nation shaped by a complex of traditions, principles and institutions that has afforded more freedom and, even factoring in periodic economic downturns, more prosperity to more of its citizens than in any society in human history. It follows that what liberals believe needs to be changed or discarded—and apologized for to other nations—is precisely what conservatives are dedicated to preserving, reinvigorating and proudly defending against attack.

In this realm, too, American Jewry surely belongs with the conservatives rather than the liberals. For the social, political and moral system that liberals wish to transform is the very system in and through which Jews found a home such as they had never discovered in all their forced wanderings throughout the centuries over the face of the earth.

The Jewish immigrants who began coming here from Eastern Europe in the 1880s were right to call America "the golden land." They soon learned that there was no gold in the streets, as some of them may have imagined, which meant that they had to struggle, and struggle hard. But there was another, more precious kind of gold in America. There was freedom and there was opportunity. Blessed with these conditions, we children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren of these immigrants flourished—and not just in material terms—to an extent unmatched in the history of our people.

What I am saying is that if anything bears eloquent testimony to the infinitely precious virtues of the traditional American system, it is the Jewish experience in this country. Surely, then, we Jews ought to be joining with its defenders against those who are blind or indifferent or antagonistic to the philosophical principles, the moral values, and the socioeconomic institutions on whose health and vitality the traditional American system depends.

In 2008, we were faced with a candidate who ran to an unprecedented degree on the premise that the American system was seriously flawed and in desperate need of radical change—not to mention a record powerfully indicating that he would pursue policies dangerous to the security of Israel. Because of all this, I hoped that my fellow Jews would finally break free of the liberalism to which they have remained in thrall long past the point where it has served either their interests or their ideals.

That possibility having been resoundingly dashed, I now grasp for some encouragement from the signs that buyer's remorse is beginning to set in among Jews, as it also seems to be doing among independents. Which is why I am hoping against hope that the exposure of Mr. Obama as a false messiah will at last open the eyes of my fellow Jews to the correlative falsity of the political creed he so perfectly personifies and to which they have for so long been so misguidedly loyal.

Barack Obama: “We’re no longer a Christian nation.” – But Now that He Is Desperate is Pleading and Praying for a ‘Hail Mary’

Thomas Jefferson, third President of the United States was, as we know, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence and one of the principal framers of the  Constitution.  He believed religious freedom is an important and personal freedom and that there should be a wall of separation between Church and State.  However is also realized that in order for a nation to succeed it needed to have a strong moral and religious basis at its core and he saw Christianity as the highest expression of natural religion and Jesus as an incomparably great moral teacher, and therefore chose Christianity as America’s moral compass, while allowing the personal freedom of Americans to worship or not worship as they pleased.

Yet to the dismay and anger of many Americans and religious leaders in the U.S., President Barack Obama has gone out of his way to ignore and minimize the value of religion in the United States, except for his bazaar and incorrect comments like, “We’re no longer a Christian nation” and "The U.S. is a large Muslim Country" plus his dealings with his extremist pastor, Reverend Wright.

While writing the Healthcare Reform Bill(s) nobody at the White House or from Congress was asking for clergy input.  In fact the mention of abortions and abortion funding has intentionally been left out of the bill, which makes the government funding of abortions with taxpayer money part of the bill(s) by default, whether the American people and their churches approve or not.  And forcing doctors and medical practitioners and religiously funded hospitals to perform abortions even if it is against their moral convictions is also on the table.

And in every opportunity to be a friend to Israel, Obama has chosen not to be.

Yet with all that said, now that the possibility of desperation and defeat has crept into the Obama/Pelosi style healthcare reform debate, both President Obama and Speaker Pelosi (who was lectured by the Pope earlier this year about her Sunday Catholic politics) are holding meetings with religious leaders (Christian and Jewish leaders) begging, pleading and quoting scripture (and lying) to get their help. We shall hope that 'they', the American people, and God see the bigger picture!

Obama Plays the God Card

(AP) It’s said that when people are experiencing trials and tribulations, they often seek a higher power. The President is apparently one of them.

Yesterday, in perhaps the most overtly religious move of his tenure thus far, the selectively faithful Obama preached his message to more than 1,000 leaders of different faiths in two conference calls, hoping they will see the light with regard to his overhaul. No word if Reverend Wright was on the line.

According to the LA Times: “The effort, known as ‘40 Days for Health Reform,’ features a national television ad, prayer rallies, meetings in congressional districts where lawmakers are waffling and a nationwide ‘sermon weekend’ at the end of August. The push also aims to influence leaders in the Jewish faith before the fall religious holidays.

I suppose grassroots organizing isn’t so bad when you have the guy upstairs on your side. Take that town hall evil doers!

“We are God's partners in matters of life and death," Obama said during the call with Jewish leaders, according to Washington Rabbi Jack Moline via Twitter.

Translation: Seeee America?? It’s just you and the man upstairs. No death panels!

Further, Pastor Obama said that many were “bearing false witness” and took a shot at his opposition calling the pushback to date: “fabrications that have been put out there in order to discourage people from meeting what I consider to be a core ethical and moral obligation: that is that we look out for one another, that I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper. In the wealthiest nation on earth right now, we are neglecting to live up to that call.”

If Obama wants to be his brother's keeper, shouldn’t he start with his own family?

So much has been made over Obama’s religion it’s an interesting turn of events that he has strategically decided to channel biblical references in hopes of turning believers into believing in his plan.

But will this theme of holy healthcare stick? When it comes to messages on universal health reform Obama has been all over the map. He initially argued it was a moral imperative, then quickly shifted to an economic imperative that reform would save costs. When the Congressional Budget Office debunked that theory saying the plan would actually raise costs, the White House pivoted yet again to a political imperative: demonizing the big insurance companies. Now with his plan and poll numbers in peril, he’s back to embracing the moral dimension to this discussion in the hopes of a political miracle.

But what exactly are Obama’s morals? Defend the weakest or reward the dumbest? Obama paints a picture of an indigenous mass of nomads but the CBO projects that among the uninsured in 2009, 17 percent will have family income above 300 percent of the poverty level (about $65,000 for a family of four); 18 percent will be eligible for but not enrolled in Medicaid; and 30 percent will be offered, but will decline, coverage from an employer.

Isn’t it their moral duty to get coverage, rather than have others foot the bill for those who make bad decisions? And isn’t our moral duty to try and cover them first before strapping future generations into massive debt? Can I get an amen for personal responsibility?

Not long ago Obama criticized those who cling to their religion. With support for his mission rapidly fleeting, he’s now the one with open arms asserting that if you believe in God you should believe in his policies. I guess in times of adversity, it’s acceptable to use a Hail Mary to get us to cling to him.

Jewish Leader Banned From Obama Meeting

Ever since President Barack Obama took office, Jewish leaders have been asking for a meeting with him. The White House, apparently thinking Jewish support for Obama was in the pocket, put them off. But a major Jewish leader says that after Newsmax.com reported on deep concerns in the Jewish community about Obama’s Middle East initiatives and statements, the White House responded quickly by asking 14 top Jewish leaders to meet with the president on July 13.

Yet that important Jewish leader, Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, says he was barred from attending the meeting because of criticism he aimed at Obama.

In June, Newsmax reported that Klein and Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, believed Obama’s Jewish support was eroding as a result of his recent Middle East activities.

“The Hoenlein and Klein interviews [with Newsmax] got the ball really rolling,” Klein tells Newsmax. “This meeting was called because they were getting very worried that more and more Jewish people are expressing concern about Obama’s policies on Israel. The White House wanted to stop the bleeding, as expressed in Newsmax interviews and picked up elsewhere.” Klein says that “Newsmax was a significant factor in this meeting happening.”

At 3 p.m. on July 13, Obama met for 45 minutes with Hoenlein, whose organization represents 50 major Jewish groups, and 13 other Jewish leaders. Klein, whose organization of 30,000 members is the oldest pro-Israel group in the country, was not invited. According to press reports, only Jewish leaders known to be sympathetic to Obama were invited to the meeting.

Klein’s White House contacts told him flat out that he was shunned because of his strong criticism of Obama. In his June interview with Newsmax, Klein said that Obama may be the “most hostile president to Israel” ever.

“They said to me, ‘How do you expect us to invite you to a meeting with the president when you keep criticizing the president?’” Klein says.

Klein found the White House response to him surprising, and “remarkable that the president has said he wants to be bipartisan and reach out to people who don’t agree with him and that he wants to hear all good ideas, even if they’re different from his.”

Klein also found it ironic that he was chastised for criticizing the president, and banned from a meeting with top Jewish leaders, at the same time Obama has argued for sitting down and negotiating with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

Klein said he told White House aides, “You won’t allow me in the meeting to discuss issues. And you want to negotiate with these evil haters of America, but I can’t be at a meeting where I would express my concerns very respectfully and responsibly?”

Klein says he has talked to several people who attended the off-the-record meeting. He was told that though the meeting was amicable, Obama was asked why he is pressuring Israel and not the Arabs on contentious issues.

Obama, Klein says, responded that he is dealing firmly and forthrightly with the Arabs but the media are not emphasizing that.

Klein says the Jewish leaders did not bring up important matters about some of Obama’s statements, including his use of mistaken statistics and analogies in his Cairo speech in June.

As a child of survivors of the Holocaust, Klein says he was particularly offended by Obama’s comparison of the suffering of Palestinians with the Nazis’ murder of more than 6 million Jews during the Holocaust. This issue was not raised, nor was Obama’s claim that America has an astonishing 7 million Muslims.

Klein said Obama’s claim showed a willingness by him to use phony figures to support a tilt toward Muslims.

“Every major survey shows there’s between 1.5 million and 2.5 million Muslims in America,” Klein says. “Where does he get the number 7 million? This is the number that the Arab propagandists promote. There’s no legitimate survey that shows a number of that nature.”

Liberal groups at the meeting were pleased with Obama’s responses, Klein says. Others, like the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, expressed concerns.

Since his Newsmax interview in June, Klein doubts Obama’s meeting with a select group of Jewish leaders will help him. Klein thinks Jewish support for Obama has dwindled even more in the past month.

“In my own experience of speaking to many different people and speaking to synagogues around the country in the last few weeks, I’m seeing an acceleration of concern about Obama’s position on Israel,” Klein says. “Even supporters of Obama who voted for him are telling me that they’re beginning to have concerns about him.”

Jews ‘Very Concerned’ About Obama, Leader of Jewish Organizations Says

President Obama’s strongest supporters among Jewish leaders are deeply troubled by his recent Middle East initiatives, and some are questioning what he really believes, Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, tells Newsmax in an exclusive interview.

Though Hoenlein says he is only offering his personal views, the conference he represents is a political powerhouse that includes 50 major Jewish groups. Among them are the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), B’nai B’rith International, the American Jewish Congress, the American Jewish Committee, the Zionist Organization of America, Hadassah, and the Anti-Defamation League. Hoenlein has been the professional head of the conference since 1986, overseeing its day-to-day activities as the coordinating body for American Jews on issues of concern in the U.S. and globally.

Jewish leaders “are expressing concern about what was said [in Obama’s Cairo speech],” Hoenlein says. “I’ve heard it from some of his strongest supporters. It’s expected from his detractors. Even people close to him have said to us that there were parts of the speech that bothered them.”

Obama’s speech to a Muslim audience in Cairo in early June was his second effort early in his administration to re-define America’s posture toward the Arab world. In April, Obama traveled to Ankara, Turkey, to offer a similar outreach to the Muslim world.

But many in the Jewish community, including some of Obama’s most ardent supporters, are troubled by his comments in the Middle East, especially his remarks to his Cairo audience. Others are concerned that, facing a multitude of problems on the domestic front, Obama has traveled twice to the Middle East without visiting Israel, America’s stalwart ally in the region for more than a half-century.

“There’s a lot of questioning going on about what he really believes and what does he really stand for,” Hoenlein says of Obama’s outreach.

Reaction to Obama’s speech has drawn a range of reaction from many Jewish leaders. On the right, some have condemned it as a revision of the long and close relationship between the U.S. and Israel. But many on the left who backed Obama were also surprised and dismayed over Obama’s speech. Such reactions from major Jewish leaders have largely remained beneath the surface, exchanged privately among them.

Hoenlein’s comments to Newsmax are his first detailed appraisal of Obama’s speech and represent the first time a major Jewish leader has spoken openly about the erosion of Jewish support for Obama.

According to the exit poll conducted by major press organizations during the 2008 election, Obama captured overwhelming support from American Jews, winning 78 percent of their vote. Despite the fact that Republicans are stronger on national security and the war on terror, Obama also won support from Jewish leaders who have been champions of Israel’s security, such as the former Democratic mayor of New York, Edward I. Koch. Koch crossed party lines in 2004 to back George W. Bush.

Reacting to Obama’s Cairo speech, Hoenlein tells Newsmax, “I have no problem with addressing the Muslim world. I’m in fact in favor of outreach, and we here at the conference have done it for about 12 or 15 years, visiting Muslim countries in Central Asia and the Middle East. But the question is, what is the message they get? It’s not so much what he says, but how do they perceive what he says?”

On the one hand, Hoenlein says, “His reference to Israel and the special relationship being unbreakable is important, and references to persecution and Holocaust denial were important, and some of his references to some human rights issues also were important.”

But Hoenlein notes the speech included a number of troubling references and comparisons. He cites the fact that Obama claimed America has seven million Muslims. That is a figure “Arab propagandists have put out,” he says. “In fact, they say only six million, when in fact there’s no study that shows even half of that.”

In 2007, the Pew Research Center estimated the Muslim American population at 2.35 million.

Hoenlein is disturbed that Obama did not mention the Jewish people’s ancient connection with the land of Israel.

“There was no reference to the 3,000 years of Jewish connection to this land,” Hoenlein says. “And that is again one of the propaganda lines that the Arabs have used: that the Jews are interlopers, that the two temples never existed, that there was never any Jewish history in the land of Israel. Even Yasser Arafat and others have used that argument because they’re trying to deny the legitimacy of the Jewish state. I don’t believe that was the president’s intent, but not making those references I think is troubling.”

Jews have claimed a connection to the land of their forefathers since 1400 B.C. Even after the Roman destruction of the Second Temple in 70 A.D. and the dispersal of many Jews throughout the Roman Empire, many Jews continued to reside in Jerusalem through the centuries, surviving various invasions. An Ottoman census of Jersualem conducted in 1845 showed Jews outnumbered Muslim Arabs by almost to 2 to 1 and were the dominant ethnic group in the region.

Hoenlein believes that the most troubling aspect of Obama’s comments in his Cairo speech was his effort to equate the Nazi killing of more than six million Jews during the Holocaust with Israel’s struggle with the Palestinians over six decades and the suffering caused by the displacement of the Palestinians.

“There’s no comparison between the Holocaust, even if it was an indirect one, and what happened to Palestinians,” Hoenlein declares.

In his speech, President Obama addressed the issue of the Holocaust head-on, saying “Six million Jews were killed — more than the entire Jewish population of Israel today.”

But he quickly changed the subject, comparing Hitler’s genocide of the Jews to the Palestinian struggle.

“On the other hand,” Obama said, as he transitioned from the Holocaust to the modern Middle East, “it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people — Muslims and Christians — have suffered in pursuit of a homeland.”

Hoenlein doesn’t buy Obama’s line of reasoning.

“The Palestinian refugee problem, or dislocation as he said, didn’t come about because of the creation of the Jewish state,” Hoenlein says. “It came about because the Arab states declared war on Israel and warned the Arabs that they would suffer the same fate as the Jews if they didn’t get out. And then they kept them as political pawns.”

Obama made no reference to the fact that “the reason the Palestinians don’t have a state is because their leaders rejected every offer for peace,” Hoenlein says. “Whether it was in 1937 or 1947 or 1967, or later on, up until Ehud Olmert’s offer and Ehud Barak’s offer, they rejected everything, even when they were getting virtually everything they had asked for.”

That is because, “The problem really is not what Israel does, it’s that Israel is,” Hoenlein says. “And they’re not ready to accept the existence of the Jewish state.”

In discussing the Palestinian refugee problem, Obama failed to mention the other refugee problem involving nearly a million Jews, Hoenlein says. At the time of the creation of the modern state of Israel in 1948, Jews populated all of the major Arab cities from Baghdad in the East to Casablanca in the West.

Hoenlein notes that after modern Israel saw its rebirth, Jews “were driven out of Arab countries penniless, and some of their families had lived there for a thousand years, and yet there was no reference to them.” He adds, “This is not a question of tit for tat. It’s a question of the realities that are communicated to a vast audience in the Arab Muslim world.”

As troubling as Obama’s references to Israel and the Palestinians were, Hoenlein found the president’s failure to mention the radical regime now running Tehran equally disturbing.

”What concerned us, concerned many people, was the message to Iran that we didn’t hear,” Hoenlein says.

Iran, controlled by powerful Shia Mullahs, is set to acquire a nuclear device. Many Sunni Muslim states, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and Morocco, are concerned about this prospect.

Hoenlein says these Arab states also wanted to hear “an absolute assurance about the U.S. commitment not to allow Iran to be nuclear, not to allow it to continue to support terrorism, not to allow it to continue being the major state sponsor of terror around the world.”

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who declared himself the winner in the election in Iran this past weekend, has repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction. In 2005, he declared that he is a devout follower of Iran’s late ruler Ayatollah Khomeini. He has vowed to fulfill the Ayatollah’s dream that the “occupying regime [Israel] must be wiped off the map.”

Asked if he sees Obama’s perceived tilt toward the Palestinians as reflecting some of the views of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr., Obama’s former pastor who accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and “terrorism,” Hoenlein says American Jews are concerned about Obama’s policies today.

“That issue has been discussed and debated, and I don’t know that it’s a relevant concern for right now,” he says. “I do feel strongly about what the [current] policy will be.”

Hoenlein says flatly, “People [Jews] are genuinely very concerned...about President Obama.”

After being whiplashed by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's upset victory in Iran on Saturday, President Obama was subjected to further abuse by Binyamin Netanyahu of Israel.

"Binyamin Netanyahu tonight endorsed the creation of a Palestinian state after weeks of pressure from Washington, but defied President Obama's demand for a halt to all settlements.
In a high-profile speech that the Palestinian administration of Mahmoud Abbas said "hobbles all efforts to save the peace process", the Israeli Prime Minister said that the Palestinians must recognize Israel as a "Jewish state" and that any future Palestinian state had to be demilitarized.

“If we have the guarantees on demilitarization and if the Palestinians recognize Israel as the state of the Jewish people, then we arrive at a solution based on a demilitarized Palestinian state alongside Israel,” Mr. Netanyahu said.

“The Palestinian territory will be without arms, will not control air space, will not be able to have arms enter, without the possibility of striking alliances with Iran or [Lebanese Shia militia] Hezbollah."
"Mr. Netanyahu also ruled out a complete halt to settlement activity and said that Palestinian refugees dating from the 1948 creation of Israel, and their descendants, would not be resettled inside Israel’s borders."

Hooray for Netanyahu for standing up to Barack Obama in order to advance Israel's best interests.

If only the US Congress would do the same for the American people!

"has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations."

His speech was apparently somewhat well received by Muslims -- but he didn't quite capture the hearts of Hamas:

But he complained that Obama did not specifically note the suffering in Gaza following the three-week Israeli incursion earlier this year and did not apologize for U.S. military attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
