CNN's Piers Morgan to be taken off air?

Immigration group targets cable-network anchor

WND:  In 2003, Rush Limbaugh lost his position as a NFL commentator because an observation about a black quarterback was construed as "racist."

In 2010, NPR's Juan Williams was fired for a comment about his concerns when boarding a plane with Muslim passengers.

In 2013, in the heated environment following the massacre of school children in Newtown, Conn., CNN's Piers Morgan hosted a panel in which the idea of shooting an outspoken opponent of gun control with an "assault rifle" was approvingly discussed.

Piers Morgan still has his job.  Why??

These folks plan to change that.

WASHINGTON – Officials with the conservative group Americans for Legal Immigration are challenging CNN to take Piers Morgan off the air after a controversial debate on gun control with InfoWars.com’s Alex Jones.

Jones has been just one those Morgan has brought on the air over gun control in recent days.

Following the debate with Jones, which sparked a media firestorm, Morgan featured a panel on his program including Daily Beast sports columnist Buzz Bissinger, and commentator Abby Huntsman, daughter of presidential candidate Jon Huntsman, in which Buzz joked about how someone should “pop” Jones with an “assault rifle.”

To which Abby Huntsman laughingly responded, “I’d love to see that, in uniform!”

William Gheen, president of ALIPAC, called Morgan’s segment one of the worst he’s seen in his career.

“Monitoring the media is something I have done professionally for two decades now, and in that entire time I have never seen anything as outrageous as the Piers Morgan segment joking about killing one of their guests with an ‘assault rifle’,” Gheen told WND.

Morgan and Jones engaged in a heated debate over Americans’ rights to be armed, despite Morgan being British. The ever-controversial Jones discussed a New World Order and mentioned his fear of political assassination. Morgan’s decision to feature Jones as the face of the right wing gun control position outraged many conservatives including Glenn Beck and Erick Erickson who feared he would delegitimize their case.

The gun control debate has been put back on the forefront of American politics following the Aurora, Colo., theater shooting and Newtown, Conn., school tragedy.

Those representing Second Amendment advocacy including Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association, and current NRA President David Keene, have received death threats – ironically involving guns – over social media.

ALIPAC also has launched a social media effort that has gained them 65,000 Facebook followers and has clogged up lines at CNN calling for Morgan to be taken off air.

“Please call CNN to demand that Piers Morgan be fired for advocating political murder with assault rifles on last night’s show. Free speech is one thing, but we cannot allow the liberal media to take things this far against those that oppose amnesty or support gun rights etc.. Call 404.827.1500 and wait for a human operator,” Gheen encouraged.

ALIPAC has posted a video clip online.  -  The clip in question for your review:

Piers Morgan and Guests Discuss Shooting Alex Jones  » Piers Morgan and Guests Discuss Shooting Alex Jones Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!  -  Please flood CNN with calls demanding that Piers Morgan be Fired for murder comments

The Washington Post reported that Morgan also interviewed gun-rights advocate John Lott and dismissed him by “scoffing at him.

Morgan then interviewed gun-rights advocate Larry Pratt and dismissed him by “insulting” him.

The report said Morgan was unable to control all of the interviews over guns. When Ben Shapiro, editor-at-large of Breitbart.com was on the show, Morgan brought out Ronald Reagan.

He said, according to the Post, “One of the great right-wing presidents of modern times agreed with me.”

“Shapiro’s priceless retort: ‘So?’” the paper reported.

Morgan then said, “You genuinely believe your own government is going to turn on you in a way that you require an AR-15 to challenge them? You really believe that will happen in modern-day America? Is that what you think?”

Said Shapiro, “”They may not turn on me. They may not turn on my children. But the fact is this, history is replete with democracies going tyrannical. It has happened. It happened in France in the 19th century. It happened in Spain in the last century. It happened in Germany. It happened in Italy. It happened in Japan.”

Dennis Miller on Jay Leno - Aug 27 2012

Video: Dennis Miller and Jay Leno Aug 27, 2012

Miller and Leno discuss the Fake War On Women, Akin the nut job from Missouri and Republicans NOT being compassionate. Leno is drowning in the Far Left Nut Job Kool-Aid. Leno is the one who shifted left and really showed is bias and ignorance!!

NewsBustersJay Leno Insists Republican ‘War on Women’ Is Real

Defending President Obama to guest Dennis Miller, Jay Leno admired Obama for how “he has compassion for regular people” that’s “missing” from the Republican Party which is carrying out “this sort of war on women.” When, on Monday’s Tonight Show, Miller mocked the idea of such a Republican “war on women,” Leno insisted: “I think it is.”

Revealing his true political views usually obscured by his monologue pokes at Obama, Leno proceeded to argue that Todd Akin is “an idiot but he was saying what the platform is. And that’s what many believe.” Mitt Romney, NBC’s late night host allowed, “is a a good guy and a decent man” who, Leno rued, has “had to go all the way right.”

From the Monday, August 27 Tonight Show:

DENNIS MILLER: I don’t dislike President Obama. I just think that it’s been an inept four years. And you know, I’m just calling it as I see it. I know you like him. What am I missing over the last four years? It just does not seem that good to me.
JAY LENO: Well, I think he has compassion for regular people. I think that’s what -- I think if the Republican Party is missing anything, it’s this sort of war on women, and, and compassion-
MILLER: War on women? With Sandra Fluke? She’s 30, for God’s sake. She’s still in school. She wants me to kick in ten bucks a month for her birth control? Here, I’ll give you ten. Just shut up for a second, okay? [Cheers and applause] This woman, Jay, the war on women, for God’s sake.
LENO: I think it is. I think it is.
MILLER: The chick’s like Moan of Arc, come on. [Laughter]
LENO: No, but Todd Akin was-
MILLER: He’s an idiot.
LENO: He’s an idiot, but he was saying what the platform is. And that’s what many believe. I’m glad he came forward because it kind of showed – that kind of got pushed to the background and I think it shows what many believe. Because I think Romney is a a good guy and a decent man. I just think he had to go all the way right, which I think will ultimately hurt him in the long run.

Will Bristol Palin Bring Politics Back to 'Dancing With the Stars'?

Bristol Palin to Join Allstar DWTS SeasonBristol Palin is returning to Dancing with the Stars’ (DWTS) 15th season as part of their first “all-star” cast. Including Bristol Palin, the cast will feature a dozen past contestants including athletes Emmitt Smith (Season 3), Shawn Johnson (Season 8), Apolo Anton Ohno (Season 4) and Helio Castroneves (Season 5). The winners of the first two seasons, Kelly Monaco and Drew Lachey, will also compete, along with past second-place finishers Kirstie Alley, Joey Fatone and Gilles Marini, plus Pam Anderson and Melissa Rycroft. Three other former dancers, Carson Kressley, Kyle Massey and Sabrina Bryan, will compete to be the 13th contestant; one will be selected by online voters in August.

At a news conference after the Friday July 27th announcement, Palin apparently drew most of the questions from the media, on everything from gay marriage to whether she’s making reality television a profession.   Bristol was also pressed as to what her main reason to join this season of the show was, even though she had already answered the question several times. Then E! Online reported that Palin grew a bit defensive at times during the briefing. (“Do I like to provide for my son? Yes, I do,” was one line E! reported.) She seems to have her mom’s spunk!

Bristol finally turned the table blaming the press' overbearing nature as her prime reason for doing DWTS, saying "God provides opportunities for me… The press is going to be talking about me no matter what, so I may as well be having fun."

When asked again if she believes she has made herself more of a target by doing reality TV instead of quietly going home to raise her son after the 2008 election, Bristol replied, "Like I said before, this is a fun gig. I'm not whining; I'm not complaining about anything. I'm gonna go out there and I'm going to have fun. You guys, the media, you will talk about me whether I'm in my little Alaska life or doing this."

The Palin family has certainly done their share of reality TV the past couple years.  Mom Sarah had “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” in winter 2010, featuring the whole Palin family.  Bristol and her son are featured in “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” on Lifetime. And dad Todd Palin will be a contestant in “Stars Earn Stripes” this fall, a show featuring military exercises and missions.

DWTS executive producer Conrad Green has revealed that it is "impossible" for the new cast—including Kelly Monaco, Gilles Marini, Drew Lachey, Anderson, Helio Castroneves, Palin and Rycroft — to have the same partners as before. The pairings will be announced Aug. 13. "We are at their mercy!" Pam Anderson joked.

Last time around Bristol was known for being an unwed teen mom turned advocate and not necessarily for her dancing, who brought the buzz last time around.  Twitter took off increasing ratings when mom, Sarah, also known as 2008 vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor and Dad, Todd, dubbed first dude by many, showed up in the front row of the dance floor.  Then a Wisconsin man shot his television in anger over Bristol’s success and there was a police involved scare at the studios.  This time around Bristol’s reality TV and life experience may have given her more expertise to apply to  the ballroom floor.  And she surely will no longer be billed as a “teen activist.”

Last time around the whining left complained that Bristol had an edge with her politico mom campaigning not only for her dancing daughter but for tea party candidates; Bristol finished third. (The tea party did pretty well, too.) So the question is will Palin’s presence revive the controversy — and high ratings — of her original competition in Season 11?

I’d say that is probably a yes and in a year when all eyes are on politics, Palin’s selection is without a doubt a surefire way to get “Dancing With the Stars” plenty of attention… especially if mom and dad stop by again.

NEW STUNNING AUDIO: AUTHOR RELEASES INTERVIEWS CAPTURING HOLLYWOOD’S DISDAIN FOR CONSERVATIVES INCLUDING SESAME STREET

lib bias 2

Author Ben Shapiro is working to expose the Hollywood left’s purposeful attempts to promote a liberal political agenda through entertainment mediums.  As we reported yesterday, (See below) left-wing messages are being woven into popular television shows — from kids’ favorite Sesame Street to “must see TV” sitcoms like Friends. But as Shapiro’s new book  “Primetime Propaganda” demonstrates, that’s just the tip of the liberal iceberg.

In videos sent exclusively to The Blaze from Shapiro, more Hollywood liberals openly admit to how their political biases plague today’s entertainment industry.

Is there a literal “blacklist” against conservatives trying to find work in Hollywood?  House creator David Shore says yes:

Video:  Primetime Propaganda: Shore Says Hollywood Discriminates Against Conservatives

Marc Cherry, creator of ABC’s Desperate Housewives weaves a pro-gay agenda into his primetime soap:

Video: Primetime Propaganda: Cherry Pushes Gay Agenda on Desperate Housewives

George Schlatter, creator of Laugh-In, sounds off on conservative radio and television host Glenn Beck. (Hint: it’s not nice):

Video:  Primetime Propaganda: Schlatter Attacks Glenn Beck

In addition to these interview exclusives, the Hollywood Reporter has more:

[Friends co-creator Marta] Kauffman also acknowledges she “put together a staff of mostly liberal people,” which is another major point of Shapiro’s book: that conservatives aren’t welcome in Hollywood.

Maybe that’s because they’re “idiots” and have “medieval minds.” At least that’s what Soap and Golden Girls creator Susan Harris thinks of TV’s conservative critics.  However, the ranks of dumb right-wingers has dwindled, according to Harris, whose video has her saying: “At least, you know, we put Obama in office, and so people, I think, are getting – have gotten – a little bit smarter.”

Some of the videos have executives making rather obvious revelations, like when Larry Gelbart and Gene Reynolds talk about pacifist messages in M*A*S*H or when MacGyver producer Vin Di Bona says anti-gun messages were a recurring theme in that show.

But an additional video has Di Bona, who also created America’s Funniest Home Videos, becoming remarkably blunt about his approval of a lack of political diversity in Hollywood. When Shapiro asks what he thinks of conservative critics who say everyone in Hollywood is liberal, Di Bona responds: “I think it’s probably accurate, and I’m happy about it.”

Another video has Leonard Goldberg — who executive produces Blue Bloods for CBS and a few decades ago exec produced such hits as Fantasy Island, Charlie’s Angels and Starsky and Hutch — saying that liberalism in the TV industry is “100 percent dominant, and anyone who denies it is kidding, or not telling the truth.”  Shapiro asks if politics are a barrier to entry. “Absolutely,” Goldberg says.

When Shapiro tells Fred Pierce, the president of ABC in the 1980s who was instrumental in Disney’s acquisition of ESPN, that “It’s very difficult for people who are politically conservative to break in” to television, he responds: “I can’t argue that point.” Those who don’t lean left, he says, “don’t promote it. It stays underground.” …

In the book, subtitled “The true Hollywood story of how the left took over your TV,” Shapiro also tells anecdotes of bias against conservatives. One example is Dwight Schultz, best known for his roles as Murdock in The A-Team and Barclay in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The late Bruce Paltrow knew that Schultz was a fan of President Ronald Reagan. When Schultz showed up to audition for St. Elsewhere, a show Paltrow produced, to read for the part of Fiscus, Paltrow told him: “There’s not going to be a Reagan a**h*** on this show!” The part went to Howie Mandel.

IS SESAME STREET SPREADING LEFT-WING PROPAGANDA? EXEC ADMITS, YES

While the theme song to the kids show Sesame Street encourages people to ask how to get there, one author just finished an expose exploring what’s really in the popular show: left-wing propaganda.

Sesame Street, with its loveable and fuzzy characters, is really a mouthpiece for the left’s agenda. That’s the conclusion of author Ben Shapiro, who after interviewing hundreds of industry insiders found that many of Hollywood’s most popular shows, including the popular kids program, are inundated with secret political messages. And he got top executives to admit it.

Shapiro’s new book, “Primetime Propaganda”: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV,” according to it’s description “is the story—told in their own words—of how television has been used over the past sixty years by Hollywood writers, producers, actors, and executives to promote their liberal ideals, to push the envelope on social and political issues, and to shape America in their own leftist image.”

For example, Shapiro quotes Mike Dann, one of Sesame Street’s founding executives, saying it “was not made for the sophisticated or the middle class.” Using the premise, the team worked in all sorts of messages, including Grover breaking bread with a hippie and Oscar the grouch who was supposed to address “conflicts arising from racial and ethnic diversity.” Dann also admitted he used the program in the wake of 9/11 to highlight peaceful alternatives to war.

“Sesame Street tried to tackle divorce, tackled ‘peaceful conflict resolution’ in the aftermath of 9/11 and had [gay actor] Neil Patrick Harris on the show playing the subtly-named ‘fairy shoeperson’,” writes Shapiro, according to THR.

The news may not be surprising considering the left‘s recent use of the show’s cuddly character, Elmo. The furry, red puppet has been used to trumpet free internet, lament job loss, and even plug Michelle Obama’s child nutrition bill.

But the left-wing messages aren‘t limited to children’s programs. Adults are inundated, too. The Independent explains:

The TV series Friends undermined family values; Sesame Street taught ethnic minorities about civil disobedience; Happy Days had a subtle anti-Vietnam subtext; and the 1980s cop show MacGyver tried to persuade pistol-packing Americans that guns are bad.

Happy Days? Friends? Believe it. Shapiro even got Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman to own up to intentionally hiring liberals and sending a strong message to conservatives in a popular episode:

Among Shapiro’s most revelatory interviewees is Marta Kauffman, the co-creator of Friends, who recalls how she hired a “bunch of liberals” to run the programme to “put out there what we believe”. In 1999, she admitted casting the actress sister of Newt Gingrich, the prominent Republican, to play a preacher at a lesbian wedding because she wanted to annoy conservatives.

“When we did the lesbian wedding, we knew there was going to be some flack,” said Kauffman. “I have to say, when we cast Candice Gingrich as the minister of that wedding, there was a bit of a ‘fu** you’ in it to the right-wing, directly.”

So how did Shapiro get these executives to say such things on record. According to him, he took advantage of liberal stereotypes.

“There was a certain amount of stereotyping on their part in granting the interview,” he told the Independent. “Many probably assumed that with a name like Shapiro and a Harvard Law credential, there was no need to Google me: I would have to be a leftist. In Hollywood, talking to a Jew with a Harvard Law baseball cap is like talking to someone wearing an Obama pin.”

“I was shocked by the openness of the Hollywood crowd when it came to admitting anti-conservative discrimination inside the industry,” he told the paper. “They weren’t ashamed of it. In fact, some were actually proud of it.”

Obama, Haiti and the Bold & Fresh Tour

"Glenn Beck and I are here on the Gulf Coast to do two sold-out Bold & Fresh shows. We knew when we signed on for the tour that creepy far-left people would be stalking us, and they are. After our first show, the loopy Media Matters rejoiced in saying that I had compared the South Side of Chicago to Haiti. Here's what I said: 'If you've ever been to the South Side of Chicago, it's a disaster. It's like Haiti. I support some charities there, but Haiti just never gets better, no matter how much money you put in there ... but Obama really believes the government can do it.' Those comments deeply offend far-left kool-aid drinkers, even though every word is true. For decades Chicago's South Side has been a pocket of poverty and brutality; Barack Obama's well aware of that because he worked there. An enormous amount of federal and state money has poured into the South Side, yet it remains a major problem. The situation directly parallels what's happened in Haiti - massive aid, few results. Self-reliance is the key to success in life; a nanny state chokes that. If the President and I have one area of disagreement, it is big government. I believe it can not solve problems, he believes it can level the playing field, at least somewhat. That hasn't happened on Chicago's South Side, has it?"

Hollywood Blocks Story of the Hanoi Hilton

Hollywood rarely even pretends to be politically neutral. From celebrity-studded fundraisers to Blake Lively's recent commercial against McCain to Tina Fey's impersonation of Sarah Palin, Hollywood boasts it's liberal leanings constantly. But Hollywood has had a sudden change of heart and decided they want to try "to be cautious and not affect the election one way or the other." How will they manage this? They'll obstruct the release of an interview with McCain about his time as a POW until after the election.

"[Warner Brothers] moved quietly over the last few weeks to block any promotional showing of an interview — tied to the release of the first DVD version of the 1987 film Hanoi Hilton — in which McCain spoke of his imprisonment in the Hoa Lo prison during the Vietnam War."

This desire of Hollywood to appear unbiased is rather ironic in light of the recent release of "W."

As Lionel Chetwynd said: "Finding someone in Hollywood who says they don't want to affect the election is like finding a virgin in a brothel."
