Once They Own Your Kids, What’s Left?

Once They Own Your Kids, What’s Left?

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton at the Noisy Room

“Parsons was Winston’s fellow employee at the Ministry of Truth. He was a fattish but active man of paralyzing stupidity, a mass of imbecile enthusiasms—one of those completely unquestioning, devoted drudges on whom, more even than on the thought police, the stability of the Party depended.”

“Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it… All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children.”
“Thoughtcrime does not entail death: thoughtcrime is death.”

George Orwell’s 1984  - A must read if you haven’t:  Nineteen Eighty-Four

Not content with the massive government growth since Obama came into power, Comrade Pelosi wants even more. This time she’s campaigning for federal child care which is a true Communistic principle:

Just as housework withers away, so the obligations of parents to their children wither away gradually until finally society assumes the full responsibility. Under capitalism children were frequently, too frequently, a heavy and unbearable burden on the proletarian family. Communist society will come to the aid of the parents. In Soviet Russia the Commissariats of Public Education and of Social Welfare are already doing much to assist the family. We already have homes for very small babies, creches, kindergartens, children’s colonies and homes, hospitals and health resorts for sick children. restaurants, free lunches at school and free distribution of text books, warm clothing and shoes to schoolchildren. All this goes to show that the responsibility for the child is passing from the family to the collective.

The parental care of children in the family could be divided into three parts: (a) the care of the very young baby, (b) the bringing up of the child, and (c) the instruction of the child. Even in capitalist society the education of the child in primary schools and later in secondary and higher educational establishments became the responsibility of the state. Even in capitalist society the needs of the workers were to some extent met by the provision of playgrounds, kindergartens, play groups, etc. The more the workers became conscious of their rights and the better they were organized, the more society had to relieve the family of the care of the children. But bourgeois society was afraid of going too far towards meeting the interests of the working class, lest this contribute to the break-up of the family. For the capitalists are well aware that the old type of family, where the woman is a slave and where the husband is responsible for the well-being of his wife and children, constitutes the best weapon in the struggle to stifle the desire of the working class for freedom and to weaken the revolutionary spirit of the working man and working woman. The worker is weighed down by his family cares and is obliged to compromise with capital. The father and mother are ready to agree to any terms when their children are hungry. Capitalist society has not been able to transform education into a truly social and state matter because the property owners, the bourgeoisie, have been against this.

Communist society considers the social education of the rising generation to be one of the fundamental aspects of the new life. The old family, narrow and petty, where the parents quarrel and are only interested in their own offspring, is not capable of educating the “new person”. The playgrounds, gardens, homes and other amenities where the child will spend the greater part of the day under the supervision of qualified educators will, on the other hand, offer an environment in which the child can grow up a conscious communist who recognizes the need for solidarity, comradeship, mutual help and loyalty to the collective. What responsibilities are left to the parents, when they no longer have to take charge of upbringing and education? The very small baby, you might answer, while it is still learning to walk and clinging to its mother’s skirt, still needs her attention. Here again the communist state hastens to the aid of the working mother. No longer will there be any women who are alone. The workers’ state aims to support every mother, married or unmarried, while she is suckling her child, and to establish maternity homes, day nurseries and other such facilities in every city and village, in order to give women the opportunity to combine work in society with maternity.

The masks are coming off the Progressives. They don’t even try to hide their Marxist agendas any more. Pelosi wants to be reinstated as Speaker of the House (she must dearly miss the power that position has) and as her primary campaign topic, she is going all out for national child care.

Last week, the California congresswoman hit five cities in five days, barnstorming for money to try to win the 25 more seats it would take to regain control. And if that happens — or when, according to her — at the top of her to-do list, she says, will be “doing for child care what we did for health-care reform” — pushing comprehensive change. …

Of the need for child-care legislation, she says, “I could never get a babysitter — have five kids in six years and no one wants to come to your house. . . . And everywhere I go, women say the same thing” about how hard it is to find the kind of reliable care that would make their family lives calmer and work lives more productive. When it comes to “unleashing women” in a way that would boost the economy, she says, “this is a missing link.”

Congress did pass such a bill, in 1971, but President Richard M. Nixon vetoed it because he thought it would undermine families and force them to put children in government-run centers.

Tell me that doesn’t sound exactly like the Marxists in 1920′s Russia. They never, ever give up and have been pushing the destruction of the central family unit along with complete government involvement in child care for a long, long time. The Communists wanted women to have to work, so the government would get to step in with national child care and an iron grip on citizens from cradle to grave. She wants to resurrect the bill form 1971 that Nixon vetoed as her next big goal. Pelosi is just the corrupt, Marxist Progressive to get it done too. She is incredibly dangerous and evil.

Pelosi is an elitist and very, very bitter over being replaced as Speaker of the House. But true to her nature, she learned everything she knows from Daddy and will never give up getting her power back. From She’s The Boss:

Pelosi’s mastery of the insider game most definitely took place beyond the classroom walls. Indeed, Pelosi possesses the political street smarts of a party boss harking back to the days of Boss Tweed of Tammany Hall or the Daley Machine in Chicago. And that’s not surprising, since her father, “Big Tommy” D’Alesandro, Jr., ran his own well-oiled machine. She saw precinct party politics up close where the means to power was deal making, backroom bargains and, when necessary, strong-arm tactics and intimidation. New York Times reporter David Firestone writes, “The ability to make merry while reaching for the jugular is an essential characteristic for politicians, and friends say Ms. Pelosi learned it from one of the classic political bosses and characters of an earlier era, Thomas J. D’Alesandro, Jr., a congressman, mayor of Baltimore and doler of favors for Northeastern Maryland for 40 years.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking she is incompetent or crazy. Pelosi is anything but. She is aggressive, brutal and power hungry. She crushes anyone who gets in the way of her agenda. Now she is coming after our children. Parents, it’s crunch time. You need to get your children out of the government controlled school system and now. You need to find a way to NOT let the government take care of your child as well. They are masters at propaganda, thought policing and brainwashing. The government and our elites are the ultimate bad man offering our children candy and many parents are nudging their children right into the government’s loving arms. God help us all.

If indeed Pelosi achieves her goal and the government does for child care what it did for healthcare, it might look something like this:

· A childcare mandate requiring all parents to buy childcare for their children and enter the workplace.

· A national electronic database of all parents and their parenting habits, ostensibly to determine and enforce the use of “best practices” for raising children.

· Forcing all private-sector child care professionals out of business, creating a single-caregiver government monopoly subjecting impressionable young children to government indoctrination in everything from climate change to illegal immigration and abortion.

1984 comes knocking on our doors and our children are the price of government oversight. Makes you all warm and fuzzy doesn’t it? More likely, it chills you to the bone and there is fear in the pit of your stomach for your family and children. You have to ask yourself, “Once they own your kids, what’s left?”

NEW STUNNING AUDIO: AUTHOR RELEASES INTERVIEWS CAPTURING HOLLYWOOD’S DISDAIN FOR CONSERVATIVES INCLUDING SESAME STREET

lib bias 2

Author Ben Shapiro is working to expose the Hollywood left’s purposeful attempts to promote a liberal political agenda through entertainment mediums.  As we reported yesterday, (See below) left-wing messages are being woven into popular television shows — from kids’ favorite Sesame Street to “must see TV” sitcoms like Friends. But as Shapiro’s new book  “Primetime Propaganda” demonstrates, that’s just the tip of the liberal iceberg.

In videos sent exclusively to The Blaze from Shapiro, more Hollywood liberals openly admit to how their political biases plague today’s entertainment industry.

Is there a literal “blacklist” against conservatives trying to find work in Hollywood?  House creator David Shore says yes:

Video:  Primetime Propaganda: Shore Says Hollywood Discriminates Against Conservatives

Marc Cherry, creator of ABC’s Desperate Housewives weaves a pro-gay agenda into his primetime soap:

Video: Primetime Propaganda: Cherry Pushes Gay Agenda on Desperate Housewives

George Schlatter, creator of Laugh-In, sounds off on conservative radio and television host Glenn Beck. (Hint: it’s not nice):

Video:  Primetime Propaganda: Schlatter Attacks Glenn Beck

In addition to these interview exclusives, the Hollywood Reporter has more:

[Friends co-creator Marta] Kauffman also acknowledges she “put together a staff of mostly liberal people,” which is another major point of Shapiro’s book: that conservatives aren’t welcome in Hollywood.

Maybe that’s because they’re “idiots” and have “medieval minds.” At least that’s what Soap and Golden Girls creator Susan Harris thinks of TV’s conservative critics.  However, the ranks of dumb right-wingers has dwindled, according to Harris, whose video has her saying: “At least, you know, we put Obama in office, and so people, I think, are getting – have gotten – a little bit smarter.”

Some of the videos have executives making rather obvious revelations, like when Larry Gelbart and Gene Reynolds talk about pacifist messages in M*A*S*H or when MacGyver producer Vin Di Bona says anti-gun messages were a recurring theme in that show.

But an additional video has Di Bona, who also created America’s Funniest Home Videos, becoming remarkably blunt about his approval of a lack of political diversity in Hollywood. When Shapiro asks what he thinks of conservative critics who say everyone in Hollywood is liberal, Di Bona responds: “I think it’s probably accurate, and I’m happy about it.”

Another video has Leonard Goldberg — who executive produces Blue Bloods for CBS and a few decades ago exec produced such hits as Fantasy Island, Charlie’s Angels and Starsky and Hutch — saying that liberalism in the TV industry is “100 percent dominant, and anyone who denies it is kidding, or not telling the truth.”  Shapiro asks if politics are a barrier to entry. “Absolutely,” Goldberg says.

When Shapiro tells Fred Pierce, the president of ABC in the 1980s who was instrumental in Disney’s acquisition of ESPN, that “It’s very difficult for people who are politically conservative to break in” to television, he responds: “I can’t argue that point.” Those who don’t lean left, he says, “don’t promote it. It stays underground.” …

In the book, subtitled “The true Hollywood story of how the left took over your TV,” Shapiro also tells anecdotes of bias against conservatives. One example is Dwight Schultz, best known for his roles as Murdock in The A-Team and Barclay in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The late Bruce Paltrow knew that Schultz was a fan of President Ronald Reagan. When Schultz showed up to audition for St. Elsewhere, a show Paltrow produced, to read for the part of Fiscus, Paltrow told him: “There’s not going to be a Reagan a**h*** on this show!” The part went to Howie Mandel.

IS SESAME STREET SPREADING LEFT-WING PROPAGANDA? EXEC ADMITS, YES

While the theme song to the kids show Sesame Street encourages people to ask how to get there, one author just finished an expose exploring what’s really in the popular show: left-wing propaganda.

Sesame Street, with its loveable and fuzzy characters, is really a mouthpiece for the left’s agenda. That’s the conclusion of author Ben Shapiro, who after interviewing hundreds of industry insiders found that many of Hollywood’s most popular shows, including the popular kids program, are inundated with secret political messages. And he got top executives to admit it.

Shapiro’s new book, “Primetime Propaganda”: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV,” according to it’s description “is the story—told in their own words—of how television has been used over the past sixty years by Hollywood writers, producers, actors, and executives to promote their liberal ideals, to push the envelope on social and political issues, and to shape America in their own leftist image.”

For example, Shapiro quotes Mike Dann, one of Sesame Street’s founding executives, saying it “was not made for the sophisticated or the middle class.” Using the premise, the team worked in all sorts of messages, including Grover breaking bread with a hippie and Oscar the grouch who was supposed to address “conflicts arising from racial and ethnic diversity.” Dann also admitted he used the program in the wake of 9/11 to highlight peaceful alternatives to war.

“Sesame Street tried to tackle divorce, tackled ‘peaceful conflict resolution’ in the aftermath of 9/11 and had [gay actor] Neil Patrick Harris on the show playing the subtly-named ‘fairy shoeperson’,” writes Shapiro, according to THR.

The news may not be surprising considering the left‘s recent use of the show’s cuddly character, Elmo. The furry, red puppet has been used to trumpet free internet, lament job loss, and even plug Michelle Obama’s child nutrition bill.

But the left-wing messages aren‘t limited to children’s programs. Adults are inundated, too. The Independent explains:

The TV series Friends undermined family values; Sesame Street taught ethnic minorities about civil disobedience; Happy Days had a subtle anti-Vietnam subtext; and the 1980s cop show MacGyver tried to persuade pistol-packing Americans that guns are bad.

Happy Days? Friends? Believe it. Shapiro even got Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman to own up to intentionally hiring liberals and sending a strong message to conservatives in a popular episode:

Among Shapiro’s most revelatory interviewees is Marta Kauffman, the co-creator of Friends, who recalls how she hired a “bunch of liberals” to run the programme to “put out there what we believe”. In 1999, she admitted casting the actress sister of Newt Gingrich, the prominent Republican, to play a preacher at a lesbian wedding because she wanted to annoy conservatives.

“When we did the lesbian wedding, we knew there was going to be some flack,” said Kauffman. “I have to say, when we cast Candice Gingrich as the minister of that wedding, there was a bit of a ‘fu** you’ in it to the right-wing, directly.”

So how did Shapiro get these executives to say such things on record. According to him, he took advantage of liberal stereotypes.

“There was a certain amount of stereotyping on their part in granting the interview,” he told the Independent. “Many probably assumed that with a name like Shapiro and a Harvard Law credential, there was no need to Google me: I would have to be a leftist. In Hollywood, talking to a Jew with a Harvard Law baseball cap is like talking to someone wearing an Obama pin.”

“I was shocked by the openness of the Hollywood crowd when it came to admitting anti-conservative discrimination inside the industry,” he told the paper. “They weren’t ashamed of it. In fact, some were actually proud of it.”

If you haven’t read it ‘The Coming Insurrection’ (Semiotext(e) / Intervention) describes the process.

The first part of winning is knowing who the enemy is and realizing that you are in the fight of your life.

While the perfect storm has been brewing, the Progressives, the Fabians, the Muslim Brotherhood, the union leaders… the puppet masters have been distracting the public, the average man and woman and thereby controlling us through Dumbing Down Our Children (the Dumbing Down of America Series) and Brainwashing them with the ideas of the left, using Mind Control through media,  chemicals in the food, water, cosmetics and household products we all consume, vaccines and Big Pharma’s concoctions, and controlling discourse through political correctness.

The question is not whether this is true.  All thinking people have to do is look around to realize that it is and the results.  The question is what are we going to do about it before it is too late, if it isn’t already.

While world burns, White House parties

Friday, Feb 25, 2011 at 12:38 PM EST

Well, as the world burns down with riots and protests, the White House was able to find the time to throw yet another party. There must have been an opening on the President’s schedule. Among the guests was John Legend, who has been complaining about getting a tax “break”. Glenn gave his reaction to the story on radio this morning.

“Singer John Legend is very upset.  Why?  Because he’s a millionaire who got a tax cut.  Quote:  People fought to give me, a millionaire, a tax cut this year.  I don’t need it.  And all the other millionaires don’t need it, either,” Glenn said.

“You give away all the money to a charity of your choice.  That’s what I do.  I give a lot of money to charity.  Better yet, give it as a little gift to the U.S. Government.  Nobody’s stopping you from writing a bigger check to the U.S. Government.  Go ahead.  Look it up.  The address is online.  And give me a call when you’ve made and written that check to the IRS, you dope.”

“He’s in the news again because of the party at the White House while the world was burning last night, the White House was partying,” Pat explained.

Pat continued, “Last night the party included not just John Legend but Seal, Jamie Foxx, Nick Jonas I guess of the Jonas Brothers, Sheryl Crow was there.”

“By the way, John, you didn’t get a tax cut!  You’re going to pay the same taxes this year that you paid last year,” Pat said.

“I asked one of the guys who used to be the head of the IRS.  This is like five years ago.  I said, has anybody ever sent, intentionally, overpaid their taxes?  You know, some millionaire said, hey, I got a million dollars that I want to pay?  He said occasionally we’ll get somebody who say they want to apply it directly to the debt but nobody ‑‑ did I say Hollywood, anybody?  He said, no, nobody just says, hey, I’m going to pay extra, I just want to pay extra, give it to some of the other ‑‑ give it to the EPA and give it to DHS, give it to those guys.  Spread it around a bit.  No, no.  Nobody does it.  You know why?  Because they know charities are more effective than the federal government.  That’s why.  It’s ridiculous.  Ridiculous,” Glenn said.

The Little Red School Bus

It‘s communism that’s about 40 feet long and rolls along on four wheels. And it could be coming to a town near you.

The Southern California Young Communist League (YCL), a branch of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), announced on its website that it’s launching a “National Red School-Bus Tour.” The YCLcalls each stop on the tour “weekend long schools” for “young activists.” So what exactly is this tour all about?

The blog P/Oed Patriot broke the story after it went digging. Here’s what it found:

According to the SoCal YCL’s website the “Schools” will include:

“lively classes and discussions: Marxism and the Political Moment: Building the movement for change; The Crisis of Capitalism Today: Causes of Crisis and the Class Struggle; Working Class and the Labor Movement; Racism, Immigrant Rights, women’s rights, LGTB rights and the struggle for equality; The CPUSA and YCL, envisioning Bill of Rights Socialism and how to get there. Also plenty of cultural, social and recreational activities.”

The group even has a video advertising the event:

Video: Marxist Classes YCL

The YCL doesn’t say exactly what the above-mentioned classes will include. But P/Oed Patriot, who notes that the Southern California YCL has a motto of “youth unite and fight,” wonders if the group’s mission statement could offer a glimpse. According to that statement, violent revolution is sometimes a necessary part of the “struggle”:

We do not believe in violence simply as a means to an end.  However, we support all forms of revolution, which historically have included violent forms but only were they successful or lasting and positive when the circumstances had called for it, when the assessment was correct (under fascism, extremely repressive and life-threatening conditions are set in place and creates justifiable responses) and ultimately if the end result is the achievement of a democratic, just society.

That leaves P/Oed Patriot left with one question:

Can we assume that if the conditions were right where a Violent Communist/Socialist Revolution could be Lasting and Successful that they would attempt it?

Conditions like …let’s say.. an Economic Crisis/Financial Meltdown in the United States?

Nah.. That’s Crazy…It would Never Happen

The tour is set to make stops in Los Angeles, Texas, Florida, and the Northeast between February and April. So if you you see a large, red school bus rolling down the street, it’s not Elmo peddling free internet, it’s just your friendly neighborhood communists.

Read P/Oed Patriot’s entire post.

Communism takes over Monopoly

Communist Monopoly /Europics

A communist version of the ultimate capitalist game - Monopoly - has been made in Poland.

Instead of buying streets, houses and hotels, players will get a list of 10 essential items like bread and loo paper and have to travel around the board joining queues to get into state-owned shops.

And instead of Chance and Community Chest, players can draw wild cards that get them sent to the front because of a Communist Party connection or see a shop closed down for "decadence."

The game - called Queue and created by the country's National Remembrance Institute - is designed to show schoolchildren what life was like under the old Soviet era.

"The game not only makes players understand shopping in Poland under communism," said the game's creator Karol Madaj.

"It also teaches them what queueing is like - something people seem to have forgotten."

What You Need to Know to Thwart the Socialist Agenda

This nation is over $14 TRILLION dollars in debt. If the government taxed every American 100% of his income, it still wouldn't cover this astronomical figure we're passing down to our children.

That's right, if your government took every penny and dollar earned in this country in a year, they couldn't pay off the national debt.

Now I don't know about you, but I look at that and wonder what kind of sheer lunacy has to exist in Washington D.C. to make anyone think this kind of out-of-control spending is sustainable? Economist Bruce Bartlett and Forbes.com contributor went so far as to say in 2009, "Every time I write about the dues to pay for federal spending, some nitwit always demands to know why we don't just cut spending. That is not a viable option to deal with our fiscal problem." Well to any Keynesian economist, budget cuts just aren't on the table and it makes you wonder... why? Could there be something more sinister at work here?

Republicans just came up with $2.5 TRILLION dollars in savings over the next ten years that touches none of the programs we've come to depend on (Social Security for example, although it does include savings from not funding Obamacare) and you know from that list there is so much more under the table not even being discussed. Spending cuts included in this proposed budget are:

  • Reduce spending levels to FY2008 levels
  • Eliminate automatic pay increases for federal workers for five years
  • Eliminate federal control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
  • Eliminate all remaining "stimulus" funding
  • Eliminate funding for the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities
  • Require collection of unpaid taxes from federal employees
  • Eliminate duplicative education programs
  • Cut federal travel budget in half
  • ... and SO MUCH MORE!

Yet even now, members of Congress are screeching that there's NO possible way we can cut the budget and our vaunted Secretary of Treasury Tim Geithner says we risk financial meltdown and default if we don't raise our debt ceiling. Fed Chairman Bernanke is oiling up the printing presses at the Mint as we speak and again I have to wonder ... why?

You see, if I look at my budget this month, take into account what money I have coming in versus what expenses have to be paid, and find out that I have more money allocated for expenses than income - well, the only sane thing to do is cut spending, right? Okay, maybe that means I don't get that new pair of shoes this month, or the family eats macaroni and cheese twice a week for the next few weeks, or even that it's a brown-bag lunch for the month and no Starbucks coffee - but we do what's necessary to get our spending in line with our income (and if nothing works, then we bring in more income!)

Our government should operate the same way, shouldn't it? And that it doesn't makes me wonder if there's not some kind of alternative agenda at play, working behind the scenes to actually bring this constitutional republic to her knees.

No, I'm not talking a conspiracy. A conspiracy is a plan devised in private between two or more people to commit a subversive act. I don't think what's happening to our country is in any way private.

I think they're being quite bold about what they're trying to do.

And whether their agenda is called liberalism, humanism, socialism or what, it all comes down to a common worldview and how they want to transform this country. In fact, America has an enemy that is very close to seeing its goals and objectives realized - and the American people can see the results of this plan in every corner of their existence if they will only open their eyes.

Joseph Stalin said, "America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."

In 1958, Cleon Skousen authored the book The Naked Communist. In this book he cited 45 declared goals of the Communist party to destroy America from within. Included in these goals were:

  • Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
  • Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
  • Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
  • Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.
  • Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
  • Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
  • Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations.
  • Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, and policy-making positions.
  • Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
  • Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression.
  • Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
  • Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."
  • Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
  • Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
  • Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

And you thought communism was dead - it's only been renamed. It comes to us in the guise of socialism, progressive thought, and social justice. And if you look at their entire list, they are horrifyingly close to realizing their goals.

From the inception of the Fabian Socialist Society in 1883, to the writings and activism of Antonio Gramsci, to Saul Alinksy and his book Rules for Radicals (which he dedicated to Lucifer, by the way, and who mentored not only Barack Obama, but Hillary Clinton as well) to the Democratic Socialist Caucus which boasts the membership of 15% of the representatives in our national House of Representatives, America has been infiltrated with a stealth we have been sidetracked from noticing. In fact, according to the DSA's website, "DSA's members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly socialist presence in American communities and politics."

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Americans need to know where their country is headed and who is in control of the wheel. Curtis Bowers, former representative for the Iowa state House, has put together all the indicators and sign posts one needs to have in order to know what is happening in this country. His documentary Agenda: Grinding America Down is an exposé on the socialist movement in America and highlights the trail from the Fabian Socialist Society in Britain in 1883 up to the Oval Office in 2009.

In Agenda: Grinding America Down you will see:

  • Why it's necessary to destroy the family unit
  • Why the NEA wants your children in the educational system from birth
  • How the environmental movement has been hijacked in order to destroy business and capitalism
  • Why biblical Judeo-Christian beliefs are challenged and attacked in the public square
  • How the nihilism of Nietzsche and Darwinian evolutionary theory have been combined to produce one of the most tyrannical political systems in the history of man
  • How social programs such as welfare are encouraged in order to destroy capitalism
  • How higher taxes and class warfare are being used to divide the nation

Agenda: Grinding America Down is one of the most sobering videos I have watched in a long time. It has shown me the plans of the progressive movement in a way that I never realized before. It has also shown me how far into our society those progressive socialist tentacles reach.

The only way to fight an enemy is to know him, to understand his strategy and his goals. Get your copy of Agenda: Grinding America Down so that you can educate yourself about the war that is being waged in American homes, in American schools, in our broadcast and print news media, in our political system and in our churches.

And after you have learned, pray.

Bernays' Ideas on Propaganda Continue to Haunt Americans - The Cattle verses the Ranchers

When Americans see the bizarre responses of the mainstream media and the progressive politicians to tragedies such as the Tucson shootings — for instance, the proposal to ban rhetoric or symbols perceived to be violent — many wonder how the country has come to this strange place where elitists are moving to gain control at the expense of individual liberties. Perhaps one need not look past the Woodrow Wilson administration for the answer.

Today’s politicians and progressives seem to have taken some notes right out of the works of Edward Bernays, President Wilson’s propaganda master. The author of books such as Crystallizing Public Opinion (1923) and Propaganda (1928) — both of which were heavily utilized by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels — Bernays has been accredited with manipulating public opinion about such varied subjects as World War I, smoking, and even bacon. He has been dubbed the “Father of Spin” and the “Godfather of modern public relations” because of his extraordinary ability to alter public opinion.

What today's politicians seem to share with Bernays is the mentality that they are in fact members of an elite class, and that it is their sole responsibility to manipulate the huddled and often confused masses.

For example, Bernays declared in Public Opinion:

Ours must be a leadership democracy, administered by the "intelligent minority" who know how to regiment and guide the masses. The common interests very largely elude public opinion entirely, and can be managed only by a specialized class whose personal interests reach beyond the locality.

He also indicated:

If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing it.

According to Bernays’ daughter, Ann,

Democracy to my father was a wonderful concept, but I don’t think he felt that all those publics out there had reliable judgment. That they very easily might vote for the wrong man or want the wrong thing. So they had to be guided from above. It’s enlightened despotism.

Similarly, in his January 11 appearance on Tom Hartman’s liberal talk radio show, progressive thinker John Dean, former Nixon counsel, commented:

What the studies show, the empirical studies over — almost, you know, well over a half a century of studying this issue — they really show that about 25 percent of a given population easily follows into the authoritarian personality-types.

These are people who, as I said, like to be told how to think [and] what to do. Some of them who were more aggressive in their personality want to jump out in front and say, "Follow me." But they will follow their leader until they get their turn. And they look upon others who don’t see the world as they do as outsiders.

[These people] are very susceptible to the direction they get from their leaders.

That's why I think it's very irresponsible (or at least dangerous) for the Palins, the Becks, the O'Reillys and the people who feed this violent atmosphere, they should realize ... the people they're dealing with. They're smart enough to look at this information and know indeed they can provoke this kind of behavior.

Likewise, Obama’s regulatory czar Cass Sunstein has indicated that the presence of too many choices can be confusing to the American people. In describing the premise of his book, Nudge, he virtually claimed that the American people were too ignorant to make proper decisions:

We think there is a little Homer Simpson in all of us. Sometimes we have self-control problems, sometimes we’re impulsive. In these circumstances, both public and private institutions, without coercing, can make our lives a lot better.

According to Sunstein, once that reality is accepted, Americans can be “manipulated.”

Joe Klein of Time magazine noted, “It is very difficult to thrive in an increasingly competitive world if you’re a nation of dodos.”

Congressman John Dingle (D-Mich.) has discussed the difficulties of trying to control the people:

The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 million American people in different ways, it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.

Conservative pundit Glenn Beck has dubbed this the "rancher/cow" mentality: The progressives view themselves as the ranchers, and the average Americans as the cows — incapable of formulating their own thoughts and willing to be herded into a fenced area.

Note: Tonight is Glenn’s two year anniversary at Fox News.

Glenn opened up the show the CNN clip of John King saying they are trying to avoid using language like “crosshairs”.

Glenn opened the TV by talking about how stupid CNN must think its listeners are. Glenn played the video of CNN host John King apologizing for using everyday language in a news report. Glenn talked more about it on radio today (LINK), but let’s just say that Glenn said that if CNN felt like they needed to apologize for casually using the word “crosshair”, then Warner Brothers should apologize for having cartoon coyotes drop pianos on road runners.

As Glenn put it, as you squelch language and questioning you stifle creativity and problem solving. You have to push the edges in order to make progress (not progressive progress), and you have to be allowed to fail.

Glenn also pointed out that freedom of speech is important because it exposes your character. For example, Glenn would rather people use terms he finds offensive so that he can know not to interact with them. They have low character.

How does this tie in with Edward Bernays? Well, Bernays believed that people were motivated by animal instincts. And so does Francis Fox Piven. Glenn played a series of clips showing Francis Fox Piven applying Bernays and Freud’s philosophies to modern society and the Tea Party.

Video: Insidious & Scary: Frances Fox Piven Answers Glenn Beck

So what does the whole rancher/cow designation mean? The way Glenn explained it, Progressives believe that as “ranchers” they have a responsibility to guide the people in the “herd”. They use the aggression, self-preservation, sex, and security. Glenn believes that Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud, Francis Fox Piven, and Cass Sunstein are all guided by this rancher/cow philosophy. But this viewpoint is the opposite of the Founder’s beliefs.

So how does this tie into E4? Glenn promised he would tie everything back to the enlightenment, education, empowerment, and entrepreneurial themes. Glenn showed how the rancher/herd philosophy could affect education. Glenn played several clips, the most outrageous of which showed John Kerry say that without an education you end up in Iraq. Glenn also showed quotes from Woodrow Wilson, who said that the aim of the university is to make students unlike their fathers.

The Progressive elite doesn’t believe in educating the “herd”, but rather keeping them in the lower caste in which they reside. Wouldn’t it be better if they tried to empower and educate the herd rather than giving them money and entitlements so they won’t ask questions.

Glenn also talked about Obama’s regulation reform that was issued through Executive Order. But something was missed. “Equity, human dignity, fairness, and distributive impacts” can be taken into account in regulations. The result, more of the “fence surrounding the cattle can be filled in.

* (Rolling Stone, Oct. 2010) It is inexcusable for any Democrat or progressive right now to stand on the sidelines in this midterm election… The idea that we’ve got a lack of enthusiasm in the Democratic base, that people are sitting on their hands complaining, is just irresponsible.”

Beck contends that the elites have managed to make some headway in their power struggle by preying on the youth:

We used to be taught as kids ourselves that there was no such thing as a stupid question. We were encouraged to be curious.... You know who's protected to ask questions and say controversial things [today]? Not the students — they get downgraded for that. Only the elites. Only the ranchers. Only the professors.

For example, in September 2008, Joe Biden said this of Obama’s critics: "All this talk about how different Barack Obama is. They’re just not used to somebody really smart. They’re just not used to somebody who is really well-educated."

Similarly, liberal pundit Bill Maher observed of politicians’ efforts to sway public opinion on healthcare: "Members of Congress have recessed now so they can go home and listen to their constituents, an urge they should resist because their constituents don’t know anything.”

Such opinions explain why outspoken critics of presidential administrations are accused of hateful rhetoric. Questioning authority is a criminal activity.

Americans today are not encouraged to “question with boldness,” as Thomas Jefferson so artfully phrased it — that is, unless they are questioning the Constitution’s usefulness and whether it is an outdated document.

Preying upon impressionable minds was a notion President Woodrow Wilson embraced. He once asserted, "The use of a university is to make young gentlemen as unlike their fathers as possible.”

It is the elitist mentality that allows billionaires such as George Soros and wealthy Americans such as Andy Stern to believe that they are above the very rules they would like to see imposed on the American people.

Similarly, former Vice President Al Gore, nearly 100 years after Edward Bernays, declared at a conference of young people in Washington, D.C.:

There are some things about our world that you know that older people don’t know. Why would that be? Well in a period of rapid change, the old assumptions sometimes just don’t work anymore because they’re out of date.

The belief that they are above the fray explains how liberals in Washington could propose banning violent symbols and rhetoric following the Tucson shootings, when these violent assertions have been made by their own man, President Barack Obama:

“I’m ready to duel John McCain.” — Sept. 30, 2008

“I want you to argue with them and get in their face.” — Sept. 17, 2008

                “… so I know whose ass to kick.” — June 8, 2010

“We're going to have just hand-to-hand combat up here on Capitol Hill.” — Oct. 2010

“We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends.” — Oct. 2010

Likewise, it is their elitism that drives liberal politicians to implement a nanny state — one in which it is the responsibility of the federal government to see to the individual’s wants and needs. It is this attitude that fuels programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, and policies such as gun control.

For example, the Obama administration has announced that it will be reviewing regulations for redundancies to ensure that agencies are operating smoothly. On the surface, the effort appears well-intentioned, except that once again, the President has circumvented Congress by issuing an executive order to carry out the process. Likewise, what is also mentioned in the executive order that has not been touted in the media is the following: “In weighing costs and benefits, for instance, agencies may now consider equity, human dignity, fairness and distributive impacts.”

Only elitists believe they have the right to make such determinations.

The key to Bernays’ ideas on propaganda is the notion that the masses must never know that they are being manipulated. Instead, they must believe that they themselves have conceived the ideas or have come to the very conclusions to which they were actually led by the leaders. Bernays declared:

In practice, if all men had to study for themselves the abstruse economic, political, and ethical data involved in every question, they would find it impossible to come to a conclusion about anything. We have voluntarily agreed to let an invisible government sift the data and high-spot the outstanding issues so that our field of choice shall be narrowed to practical proportions. [Emphasis added.]

Eliminate choices and oppose views of the masses. So much for the days of President George Washington, who asked to be met on the “battlefield of ideas.”

Perhaps that explains the concerted efforts to destroy conservative critics such as Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Michele Bachmann, Sean Hannity, the John Birch Society, average patriotic American in the tea party and others.

The similarities between the progressive elitists of today and Edward Bernays are stark. It is becoming increasingly evident that Bernays’ ideas are taking form at the hands of the ruling elite in Washington.

Will Americans be the cattle or the ranchers?

The Overton Window  -  Description

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

The above poem appeared in both the commercial for Glenn Beck’s newest book, The Overton Window, a political thriller, and resonates often throughout the novel as well. It fittingly describes how quickly mankind forgets the political past of its country and willingly allows bad history to repeat itself.

Funnily enough, when this commercial aired, the Left had a field day, mocking it and the poem Beck used, seemingly unaware that it was written by one of the most famous poets in history: Rudyard Kipling.

A plan to destroy America, a hundred years in the making, is about to be unleashed . . . can it be stopped?

There is a powerful technique called the Overton Window that can shape our lives, our laws, and our future. It works by manipulating public perception so that ideas previously thought of as radical begin to seem acceptable over time. Move the Window and you change the debate. Change the debate and you change the country.

For Noah Gardner, a twentysomething public relations executive, it's safe to say that political theory is the furthest thing from his mind. Smart, single, handsome, and insulated from the world's problems by the wealth and power of his father, Noah is far more concerned about the future of his social life than the future of his country.

But all of that changes when Noah meets Molly Ross, a woman who is consumed by the knowledge that the America we know is about to be lost forever. She and her group of patriots have vowed to remember the past and fight for the future—but Noah, convinced they're just misguided conspiracy-theorists, isn't interested in lending his considerable skills to their cause.

And then the world changes.

An unprecedented attack on U.S. soil shakes the country to the core and puts into motion a frightening plan, decades in the making, to transform America and demonize all those who stand in the way. Amidst the chaos, many don't know the difference between conspiracy theory and conspiracy fact—or, more important, which side to fight for.

But for Noah, the choice is clear: Exposing the plan, and revealing the conspirators behind it, is the only way to save both the woman he loves and the individual freedoms he once took for granted.

After five back-to-back #1 New York Times bestsellers, national radio and Fox News television host Glenn Beck has delivered a ripped-from-the-headlines thriller that seamlessly weaves together American history, frightening facts about our present condition, and a heart-stopping plot. The Overton Window will educate, enlighten, and, most important, entertain—with twists and revelations no one will see coming.

Book Review

Glenn Beck’s Thriller  -   JUNE 23, 2010 4:00 A.M.

The Overton Window is a bona-fide thriller, but it’s also a book of ideas to ponder:  like thoughts of why the American experiment matters and why some people hate it.  You can read a few pages of this book and then set it aside and think about it or spend a good while researching connections or ideas.

Example: Who is Eli (Elijah Churchill)… really?  The name of one of Glenn’s characters…  (And is this the person Glenn meant you to look up and learn about when writing The Overton Window?)

Elijah Churchill (1755-1841), was a soldier for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Born in Enfield, Connecticut, a carpenter, he entered the 8th Connecticut Regiment as a private on 7 July 1775. On 7 May 1777, he re-enlisted for the duration of the war as a corporal in the 2nd Continental Light Dragoons, later the 2nd Legionary Corps, and was promoted to sergeant on 2 October 1780. He was cited for gallantry in action at Fort St. George near Brookhaven, New York on Long Island, in November 1780, at Tarrytown, New York, in July 1781, and at Fort Slongo (now known as Fort Salonga, also on Long Island) on October 2nd, 1781. He was awarded the Badge of Military Merit for his actions, one of only three soldiers to receive the medal that later became the Purple Heart.

The uniformed factotums of Homeland Security and TSA are checking airline travelers’ papers; grumpy crowds, long lines. But follow the beautiful people past the velvet rope and through an unmarked door to the VIP lounge, and you’re no longer in a major New York airport, but in the spaceport of Mos Eisley (from Star Wars): streamlined “security” where the privileged are quietly ushered past the polloi. Now the infuriating boarding process boils down to one lone guard. No fuss, no muss.

But in Glenn Beck’s thriller, The Overton Window, this guard by the metal detector is a Star Wars geek with a shiny plastic tray for your jewelry who may very well recognize an impersonator when he sees one. He may be the one guy in a million who’d know the difference between Natalie Portman in the flesh and patriot Molly Ross, a plucky gal claiming star status, cloaked in hoodie and sunglasses, and exuding eau de Hollywood. If the impostor is unmasked, our civil servant will allow agents provocateurs out west to unleash a national catastrophe.

“Would you take off your sunglasses for me, please?”

The let-me-see-your-identification moment has arrived. Well, if you’re going to bluff the Imperial Storm Troopers of the Empire, do it with a wave of the hand and a Jedi mind trick; the impostor, Molly Ross, plumbs a reservoir of gumption and goes all Queen Padmé on the poor man. Peering over her Foster Grants, she says: “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.”

And the TSA functionary, stunned at what he thought would never happen as long as he lived, the real Queen Amidala talking to him, repeats in a dream of delayed gratification, “These aren’t the droids we’re looking for,” letting our damsel pass. The words alone bring the TSA lad’s easily influenced mind to heel. He sees what he wants to see, Natalie Portman, not Molly Ross. Mixed episodes be damned. He couldn’t care less.

Yeah!

The real Jedi mind trick of Beck’s The Overton Window is that it says thriller on the cover. And, yes, a scion of wealth, power, and privilege, Noah Gardner, heir to the Gardner public-relations empire, dabbles in rebellion and gets in over his head. But Beck’s novel is, more than anything, a book of ideas. Ideas that are very frightening to many in our media elites. Like the idea of liberty, the idea that we have a right to pursue happiness, the idea of the responsibility that comes with limited self-government, and the idea that our rights are granted by God with a capital G. Ideas that make some men uncomfortable and afraid.

Want to ponder a vast idea? Go to almost any page in this book and you’ll find something to chew over. Beck quoting Thomas Sowell: “The most basic question is not what is best, but who shall decide what is best.” How truly shocking in its clarity.

In Beck’s novel, the heavy is Noah’s father, Arthur Gardner: a public-relations master, but really a Sith lord, a master manipulator of public opinion. He is Beck’s anti–John Galt. A modern-day Mephisto with powers Ellsworth Toohey could only dream of. A man consumed with fixing and arranging outcomes, not creating anything of value. In Arthur Gardner’s preferred world, the enlightened elites rule. “The American experiment has failed, and now it’s time for the next one to begin. One world, one government — not of the people this time, but of the right people: the competent, the wise, the strong.” (The New World Order).

Why does that sound so darn familiar? Oh yeah . . . Bill Maher said something strikingly similar. Or how about Ed Schultz saying Obama should act like a dictator… or Woody Allen who said he should be one.

The scariest of Arthur Gardner’s ideas is that you can twist and mold the average citizen to achieve just about any desired outcome. Beck’s book is studded with real-life examples, some anticipating and reflecting the Orwellian nature of our present definition-of-reality struggles. As in: If it’s “Net Neutrality,” you can bet the effect will be anything but neutral.

In a planning session for societal transformation at Doyle & Merchant, Arthur Gardner’s public-relations firm, there’s a big screen in the conference room, showing how it’s going to be realized. We see a dozen items devoted to command and control, influence, the mind tricks of PR. All on the cusp of being put into practice. Take this item, for instance:

“Associate resistance and ‘constitutional’ advocacy with a backward, extremist world view; gun rights a key.”
Believe in the Constitution as written? Believe in gun rights? I mean that’s beyond the pale. No one enlightened believes in that sort of thing any more. Just ask Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan: NRA = KKK. Gosh, I wonder what “bad guy orgs” means? (Progressive community featuring updates on current affairs, politics, news, technology and humor.) NRA, KKK? Sheesh, they even sort of rhyme.

(Did Kagan Compare the NRA with the KKK?)

In another part of the novel a bunch of hired thugs break up a political meeting and get everyone thrown in jail for the night; there’s a dicey moment when we wonder whether New York’s finest are in on this abuse of power. As it turns out, our New York men in blue are true blue and won’t sign on to thuggery (like in Chicago). Now take a look at some real-life cops down on the D.C./Maryland border who can’t seem to find it in their powers to protect a kid in his own house from being terrorized by SEIU Imperial Storm Troopers and who go all lawyerly on Megyn Kelly of Fox News. Guess it depends on what the meaning of “terror” is.

Some critics get the vapors at the prospect of this book’s somehow inciting others to terrible deeds. In fact, this novel is about people trying to prevent others from doing terrible deeds, and it says so explicitly. Unlike Obama’s manufacturing czar, who has no problem with the concept of power coming from the barrel of a gun. And says so explicitly.

A grotesque monster of public relations, Arthur Gardner knows where his power comes from. And mere words are not enough. In the final scenes of the novel, Arthur Gardner, fearing that his son, Noah, is lost to him, uses every device he can find to twist and sculpt Noah and bring him back into the fold. Make his son a worthy image of himself, completely heedless of anyone else’s integrity.

I believe the character of Danny Bailey, one of the more outspoken members of the Founders’ Keepers, is mirrored after Glenn Beck himself. Bailey has used blogs, and other less mainstream media outlets to put forth his message, which is often distorted to appear insane and potentially dangerous, though it is never his intention to promote violence.

The last 20 or so pages of the novel actually identify most of the areas throughout the text that are based on actual events, people, and language used by America’s politicians and other powerful individuals, including Edward Bernays, author of the 1928 book, Propaganda, and a member of Woodrow Wilson's World War I propaganda agency — the Committee on Public Information. Bernays’ ideas on propaganda were so demented and powerful that his book was actually used by Hitler’s Joseph Goebbels along with the general concept and ideas behind American Progressivism.

In a truly horrifying final sequence, where the brainwashed Noah tries to please his father with little public-relations tasks, he just can’t get them right. Trying to make a statue of the perfect man, the great Arthur Gardner has only brutalized it — much like the commissioned statue in his private office, which appears on the cover of the book: the Statue of Liberty, partially morphed into the Colossus of Rhodes, no longer beckoning, now a bearded freak brandishing a spear. That upright arm still holds the torch, but it’s not the torch of freedom.
