Obama and the US Army Open the Door to the UN

This is serious my friends… serious!!

Gen. Markus Laubenthal is the first German officer to be assigned to US Army Europe. He is the command’s new chief of staff. (US Army Europe)

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton  -  The NoisyRoom -  Crossposed at AskMarion

A headline blipped by this morning that I’m sure very few took note of, but it caught my attention big time. As Weasel Zippers astutely put it: Nein, this could open the door for a UN blue beanie.” Indeed this does, because my friends, if they can put a foreign officer in charge of our troops there, what’s to stop them from doing it here?

From the Army Times:

A German Army brigadier general who recently served with NATO forces in Afghanistan is assuming duties as the chief of staff of U. S. Army Europe, the first time a non-American officer has held that position.

Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal, most recently the commander of Germany’s 12th Panzer Brigade in Amberg, and chief of staff of Regional Command North, International Security Assistance Force Afghanistan, will be stationed at USAREUR headquarters, Wiesbaden, Germany. He could report to duty as early as Monday.

Laubenthal also has served as military assistant to the deputy commander of operations and assistant chief of staff of operations for NATO forces in Kosovo.

As the major staff assistant to USAREUR commander Lt. Gen. Donald Campbell, Laubenthal will synchronize the command’s staff activities much as American predecessors have in the past.

“This is a bold and major step forward in USAREUR’s commitment to operating in a multinational environment with our German allies,” said Campbell.

“U. S. and German senior military leaders have been serving together in NATO’s International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan for years. Sustaining the shared capability from this experience will benefit both the U. S. and German armies,” said Campbell who has headed the Army’s largest and oldest overseas command since 2012.

This is a first, a big one. Never before has a non-American officer held the position of Chief of Staff of US Army Europe. It boggles the mind. So, let me get this straight… we fire our generals, gut our officers and then place a German in charge? WTH? Does anyone else see a problem here?

And it gets better… you know why we did this? To say we are sorry for spying on Germany. I kid you not. All this crap leads back to Snowden. The Administration is saying this appointment is a rare sign of cooperation following recent spying allegations. Oh, you bet it is. This is a brilliant maneuver to subvert our military command and it happened without so much as an ‘excuse me’ or a ‘by my way’ being ushered:

BERLIN—A German will for the first time become chief of staff of the U.S. Army in Europe, a sign of further cooperation between the two nations despite a chill caused by allegations of U.S. spying here.

Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal from Germany’s Bundeswehr will report to Lt. Gen. Donald Campbell, the U.S. commander for U.S. Army Europe, known as USAREUR, with headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany.

“This is a bold and major step forward in USAREUR’s commitment to operating in a multinational environment with our German allies,” Gen. Campbell said.

The appointment of a German to the position has been several months in the making and is part of the U.S. Army’s strategy to internationalize the command of its overseas operations.

What it is, is a blatant move to allow foreign command and troops eventually to come to American soil. Yep, I said it and Americans better take note. This is a very bad development. What? Didn’t see this coming when Snowden landed on the scene? I did. And Merkel has communist underpinnings in her history and a disturbing bond with Russia. So, tell me again how this helps our national security? The only thing it helps is bringing the UN and NATO into our military’s midst and forcing us into a one world collaboration.

You want fundamental transformation? Look at the ongoing invasion across our Southern border… Look at foreign officers in charge of our troops… Look at Obama’s behind the scenes ties to our enemies and you will discern that where we are heading is very bad indeed. Why are our military officials silent on this? You took an oath, time to honor it. Obama and the US Army just opened the door to the vampiric UN — America do you really want those asshats on your soil?

The Council Has Spoken!! This Week’s Watcher’s Council Results

JoshuaPundit on Jan 25 2013:

The Council Has Spoken! has spoken, the votes have been cast, and the results are in for this week’s Watcher’s Council match up.

Before we get started, let me remind you that there’s now a seat available on the Watcher’s Council up for grabs.

We’re currently looking at candidates, so if you’re interested, think you qualify or want to find out more about what’s involved in being part of the longest established blogging group of its kind, simply leave a comment with site URL and your e-mail address (which won’t be published) on any article over at Joshuapundit.

These don’t come up all that often and when they do they usually fill up quickly, so don’t snooze.

There’s a great deal of discussion going on among self-identified conservatives and Republicans about how to rebrand the party, gets its message out and change what appears to be its image

This week’s winner, Bookworm Room’s To win the future, conservatives need to give voters a positive image of a can-do America and a can-do Republican Party lays out her blueprint for that process in her usual witty and erudite style. Here’s a slice:

For the past four years, conservatives have been fighting a relentlessly rearguard, defensive action. For those same four years, conservatives have lost every rearguard, defensive action that they’ve fought. Or if they haven’t actually lost, the best that they’ve managed is a stalemate that stalls Progressivism, but doesn’t advance conservative values. Even the stunning 2010 “shellacking” proved ineffective, as shellackings really only work if you take over Congress entirely, rather than just getting half of it.

Conservative also don’t seem to be faring too well in the culture wars. To use abortion as just one example, in the 2012 election, conservatives lost the chance to take over Congress when Progressives successfully demonized two Republican Senate candidates who are pro-Life. More than that, it seems as if, contrary to past trends showing that Americans are inclined to a pro-Life view, a recent poll gave a definitive victory to American support for abortion.

Ironically, right up until the 2012 election, many conservatives (myself included) thought that these tactics would work. We believed that a jobless recovery (a stock market that benefited from Obama’s crony capitalism, even as more and more people became unemployed), creeping inflation, flabby home sales, depreciating savings, rising medical costs, and all the other signs of a sick economy, would turn voters against Obama.

We also thought that proofs of corruption (Fast and Furious), incompetency (Benghazi), and crony capitalism (Solyndra), would turn voters against Obama. They didn’t.

Sure we knew that Romney, although a good and intellectually brilliant man, was only a decent candidate, but we thought that, given all of Obama’s failures and dishonesty, Romney’s charisma deficit wouldn’t be a problem. And had Romney been a Democrat, it really wouldn’t have been a problem. He was a Republican, though, which meant that sterling character and brilliant economic chops were inadequate to fend off the extraordinarily vicious character assassination that the White House and the media launched against him.

We conservatives hadn’t counted on Americans buying such disgusting canards or ignoring ugly facts, but they did. Between the media running interference, general disinterest from voters more fascinated by Honey Boo Boo and Jersey Shores than by politics, and Americans’ probable fear of voting a black man out of the White House, conservatives got to watch Obama win

again.

In the wake of Obama’s victory, conservatives in the media and in the blogosphere have responded by amping up their previous tactics. Considering that Obama won’t be running again in 2016, spending all of our political capital and emotional energy attacking him doesn’t seem like a good use of resources. Be that as it may, conservatives are Obama is still Target No. 1. There certainly is a lot to get fired up about, most notably the way in which Obama seized upon Sandy Hook as an excuse to seize guns. Nothing will come of it, of course, since there are too many Democrats who like guns too, but Obama has successfully framed the issue to be one of life- and child-loving Democrats squaring off against gun-crazed, child-murdering Republicans.

Rather than running about like headless chickens who are still trying to peck the President to death with details, we might do better focusing on very specific weaknesses and not letting those weaknesses vanish from the public eye. To me, the most obvious are (a) the economy and (b) his handling of Benghazi.

In our non-Council category, the winner with a very different kind of article was Caroline Glick with Bye Bye London submitted by Joshuapundit. She recently participated in a debate in London about Israeli communities beyond the 1949 armistice lines and relates what happened there. Do read it.It’s an eye opener.

And forgive me if I not-so-humbly add I saw this coming some time ago, and if anything it’s even more relevant than it was 7 years ago. Europe will never forgive the Jews for Auschwitz.

OK, here are this week’s full results. Only Gay Patriot was unable to vote this week, but was not subject to the mandatory 2/3 vote penalty:

European Markets or Christkindlmarkts Capture the Christmas Spirit

By Marion Algier – The War on Christmas verses the Spirit of Christmas Series at AskMarion – 7

“There is no ideal Christmas; only the one Christmas you decide to make as a reflection of your values, desires, affections, traditions.” — Bill McKibben “Make sure your children have traditions to remember and build on!”

Beginning December 1st the Christmas spirit descends on the towns and cities of Germany in the form of Christkindlmarkts featuring wooden stalls laden with, toys, pretzels, wooden decorations and baked goodies of all shapes and sizes, including stollen.

image

There are more than 130 places in Germany that host Christmas markets, many in Austria and some good ones in Brussels, Prague and Copenhagen all focusing on regional specialties and local flair. It has developed into an art form, with elaborate nativity displays, handcrafted wooden ornaments, and scrumptious treats that would certainly tempt Santa and his reindeer to spend a little extra time at your house.

image

Nuremberg and Dresden compete for the position of oldest and most famous Christmas market. And although the markets have grown into major international tourist attractions, They also draw from locals and visitors from all over Germany and neighboring countries. The Markets draw from centuries of German Christmas traditions; in a country where the Protestant Reformation took root and where the current pope was born. Some customs date back to the Middle Ages.

Dresden, boasts of the Striezelmarkt, the oldest documented Christmas market in the country, dating to 1434. It is the home of the largest “Christmas pyramid” — a 45-foot-high wood structure lit with candles that spin the tiers of the decorated pyramid.

imageimage

The tradition for Christmas wood carving comes from the Erzgebirge, or “Ore mountains,” an old mining region south of the city that borders the Czech Republic. Nutcrackers and “smoking men” incense holders originally were created here.

The Stollen Festival is another highlight of the market, with the largest loaf of Christstollen — a buttery, spiced loaf weighing between 3 and 4 tons — which was cut here and served to visitors Dec. 4.

image

In Nuremberg in Bavaria, the city’s Christkindlmarkt is perhaps the most famous of all theNurnberg Christkindl in Chicago - Peter J. Schulz, City of Chicago markets, counting some 2 million visitors from Japan, the United States, China, all over Europe and elsewhere around the world every year.

They come for the Lebkuchen, a spicy gingerbread baked here since 1395, and “3 in a Weggla,” tiny Nuremberg wursts served three little sausages abreast in a bun with spicy mustard. The Christkind, an angelic or fairylike character, is the symbol of the market, and a woman with golden hair and a crown opens the market each year with her Christmas proclamation and hears the Christmas gift wishes of the children.

image

In Frankfurt am Main’s historical center, the Dom Roemer transforms from its post-World War II reconstruction of history into a wonderland of carousel music, bundled groups of people laughing around cauldrons of hot spiced wine called Gluehwein, and thick clusters of gingerbread hearts laden with hardened frosting.

imageimageimage

In Aachen, bakeries offer their famous Aachener Printen gingerbread and marzipan bread. In Berlin, the 17th-century Charlottenburger Palace is brilliantly illuminated behind the market, and the Jewish Museum hosts a combined Hanukkah-Christmas market with kosher delicacies.

The popularity of the Christmas markets has spread around the world, inspiring copies in Britain, the United States and elsewhere.

Top Christkindlmärkte in Vienna (Wien), Salzburg, Innsbruck and Linz The centrally located Salzburger Christkindlmarkt, held on the Domplatz (Cathedral Innsbruck Christmas Market in Tyrol, Austria - © 2004 | TVB Innsbruck / IAI / Saringer Square) and Residenzplatz (Palace Square), takes place in the vicinity of the city’s cathedral. The twin-towered cathedral, known locally as the Dom-Kirche, was designed Santino Solari and built between 1614 and 1657. It is one of the earliest twin-towered churches north of the Alps, and seen as one of the finest examples of early Baroque architecture. It makes a fine backdrop for tourist snaps of the Christmas market. Evening carol concerts are held on the steps of the cathedral, contributing to the seasonal atmosphere around the stalls

RDO: Six of the Best Christmas Markets in Europe

Christmas markets have been a highlight of the winter season since the Middle Ages and today they continue to light up old city centers all around Europe. Home-made food, warm mulled wine and handcrafted tree decorations and ornaments are all part of the charm along with carol singing and street musicians all adding to the festive community atmosphere. Here are six markets where you can experience the Christmas spirit to the full.

Cologne
This German city has no less than four Christmas markets around the city which attract up to two million visitors during December. The city’s old cathedral is one of the most visited monuments in the country and its most famous market is the Am Dom, a bustling, candlelit market with over 150 stalls set against the backdrop of the cathedral’s spires with a towering, glowing centerpiece – the town’s Christmas tree.

A smaller market takes place on the cobbled square of the Alter Markt close by, there’s a merry-go-round, puppet theatre, Santa’s Grotto and stalls packed with gingerbread, sweets and handcrafted toys – it’s definitely one of the markets that’s most fun for children.

Vienna
There are few cities more beautiful than Vienna when it snows and its Christkindlmarkt by the Town Hall is the city’s showcase Christmas market. It starts early, in mid-November, and continues to draw the crowds year after year. Millions of visitors come from all over the world to experience the magic.

During the Advent season, Vienna is ablaze with activity, including nativity displays, seasonal plays and concerts. The Christkindlmarkt stalls are lined with candied fruits, candyfloss and roast chestnuts and simple gifts such as beeswax candles; the small wooden stalls give the city a nostalgic feel of bygone times.

Dresden
The first record of Dresden’s Christmas market dates back to 1434, making it the oldest one on record in Germany.

This is the place for Striezel – or Stollen which is a traditional Christmas time fruitcake now sold all over Europe and baked in the form of a loaf and dusted with icing sugar. Dresden’s residents take their Stollen very seriously and celebrate with a Stollen Festival, held on the second Sunday in December. In the 16th century, the Stollen bakers would present their handmade cakes to the local prince, who would cut them into slices with a five-foot knife and distribute them to the poor. The tradition has changed somewhat today – this year, as in the past, a 3,000 kilogram cake will be paraded around Dresden accompanied by the town’s own “Miss Stollenmadchen”, the Stollen beauty queen.

The market is pretty and old fashioned, with around 250 stalls where you can browse traditional German Christmas wares, including colorful hand-blown glass baubles from the town of Lauscha and hand-fired blue and white ceramics from Saxony.

Brussels
The much-photographed Grand Place or Grote Markt in Brussels becomes center stage for its Christmas market at this time of year and it’s a good one for food gifts. Along with the mulled wine you’ll find beautifully wrapped clusters of the chocolates Belgium is famous for, hot plates of moules and Belgian speculoos which are a type of biscuit gingerbread shaped like Santa Claus.

Another attraction is The Fish Market. This transforms into the city’s Christmas ice rink; the skaters are surrounded by jugglers, street musicians and painters all sharing the festivities.

Prague
The Czech capital is beautiful any time of year, probably more so at Christmas. The city puts on plays, concerts, folk displays and its Christmas markets are family affairs, dotted in and around Prague.
While the snow shows off the city’s cobbled squares and fairytale buildings , and carol singers provide the soundtrack, visitors have rows of colorful wooden stalls to browse and explore, which sell hand-carved puppets, candles, jewelry and toys.

Copenhagen
Another picturesque setting, this time it’s Copenhagen. This Christmas market will delight lovers of glittering lights and outdoor skating. Held in the Tivoli Gardens, the place becomes a sparkling silvery winter wonderland decked out with hundreds of Christmas trees and half a million lights. The main lake doubles as the city’s winter skating rink and there are about sixty colorfully-painted stalls, all selling locally-made porcelain, wooden dolls and typical arts and crafts.

Copenhagen’s version of mulled wine is glögg, a warm heady wine mixed with liquor and spices – perfect for those sub-zero temperatures. Sip it with some hot apple dumplings as you wander the stalls, pose for a quick pic with Father Christmas and mingle with Denmark’s famous Christmas elves – called “nisser” – all festively dressed in red.

For a true Christmas vacation, there are few places as caught up in the holiday spirit as Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, aka Christmas City. Here are tips on planning a trip.

Bethlehem was founded by Moravians on Christmas Eve 268 years ago, and the city’s traditions have been rooted in Christmas ever since. There are many activities wonderful for holiday visitors, from a host of Christmas events to holiday shopping to horse-drawn carriage rides to a Christmas market.

“Christmas–that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance–a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.” …Augusta E. Rundel

What really died at Auschwitz ?

Here's an interesting viewpoint The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15 2011. It doesn't take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe - and possibly to the rest of the world.

THIS WAS IN A SPANISH NEWSPAPER:  "EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ"

By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez

"I walked down the street in Barcelona and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz ... We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world.

These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime. Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe .

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves. Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now more than sixty years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, twenty million Russians, ten million Christians, and nineteen-hundred Catholic priests who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated.' Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center 'NEVER HAPPENED' because it offends some Muslim in the United States ? If our Judeo-Christian heritage is offensive to Muslims, they should pack up and move to Iran , Iraq or some other Muslim country.

The Fascist Boogie Fever

clip_image001_thumb[1]

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton - The NoisyRoom

All hail, or should we say ‘heil,’ the rise of the Golden Dawn fascists in Greece. It’s all the rage (literally) in the streets of Greece these days. They now hold 21 seats in the Greek government – about 7% of the controlling body – and combined with the Communists, that control is closer to 20%. And their influence is not only growing there, but in Europe and the US. The darkness is rising once again and the Golden Dawn is telling those in power they should fear them now and indeed, they should take those threats to heart. Golden Dawn is demanding the respect of the Greek people and, with their violent stance, they may enforce it.

From The Blaze:

Golden Dawn leader Nikolaos Michaloliakos told The Associated Press in an interview that his party had delivered a blow against the country’s corrupt leadership.

“They slandered us, slung mud at us, and shut us out of all the news media – the TV channels of the corrupt elite – and we beat them,” the 55-year-old leader said as the votes came in. “The day of national revolution by the Greeks has begun against those who are selling us out and looting the sweat of the Greek people.”

History is repeating and a new horror is spreading its wings across the globe and few seem to be taking note of it. France just elected a Socialist leader (actually he’s a Communist; you say potato…) and Islamic fascism via The Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda is sweeping the Middle East. Look at history: Hitler and Islam joined hands in a Kumbaya moment of sociopathic murderous glee to slaughter the Jews last time and you are seeing the exact same moves today. Once again, America sits quietly by as the vilest of coalitions forms to engulf humanity while Satan laughs with delight. Iran is doing the nuclear bump as its evil imp of a leader boldly proclaims that war is not needed to defeat Israel. No… cutting ties and dirty looks should do the trick. Okay, you can stop choking with laughter now. Ahmadinejad is the ultimate trickster – I firmly believe he wants to nuke Israel into the afterlife and you are nuts if you can’t see that. We are on his enemies list as well – right at the top of it actually, with Israel a close second. A well placed EMP or two should take care of the US in the imp’s viewpoint and he may well be right. Millions would die in the aftermath of one second after.

clip_image002_thumb[1]

America is not immune to the spread of Golden Dawn’s platform. Certainly, if Obama is reelected we will see it spread. Of course, the name will be different, but the sulfuric stench will be the same. If Romney is elected and then does not follow the will of the people in America, which is a conservative bent by the majority, and goes back to bailouts and stimulus games, you will see the rise of nationalism here as well and that is poison. We dare not go down that road. History shows we could easily do so. There were pro-Hitler movements here in the US the last time this rose from the depths of Hell. Look it up.

The Blaze explains the scenario that could unfold:

Beck explained that the situation in Greece was likely a direct result of something he calls the “Bubba effect.” To refresh your memory on what this theory entails, envision a scenario where, in the wake of an Islamic terror attack and subsequent government ineptitude — particularly as regards national security and immigration — an everyman, or, “Bubba,” pushed to the brink, shoots someone who appears to be Muslim. Citizens rally to Bubba’s defense, blaming the government, not the murderer, for causing the problem in the first place. When citizens’ frustration with government reaches critical mass, a contingent can all too easily use that as an excuse to lash out. As we examine the situation in Greece below, it seems the Bubba effect may have already arrived.

One component leading to the unrest across the eurozone has been the enactment of austerity measures. Billed as an answer to the European sovereign debt crisis, austerity measures focus on achieving reduced levels of spending primarily through cutting public services and programs. This is done so that taxes need not increase to compensate for deficits. Needless to say, whenever public and social services are cut, those who champion said programs, particularly on the left, are bound to pose strong resistance. Such has been the case across Europe, specifically Greece. With the exit of Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is perhaps the only pro-austerity leader left in Europe.

clip_image003_thumb[1]

I never thought I would see this happen in my lifetime. It blindsided me and takes my breath away. When I face the evil developing, it causes me to cringe from within and begs me to turn away. I will not and I pray that America and the world will not either. The only way to beat back the darkness is to face it head on and fight with every bit of strength you have physically and in your soul. Death is not the worst thing that can happen to you. History is calling us – which side will each of us choose? I choose the light and will fight to my last breath defending Israel and what is good and right. My course is set, but the world’s is still very much in question. It has taken the world only 70 years to forget the last time we danced with this demon. Shame on us.

Listen to the hardline rhetoric of Greece’s Golden Dawn leader, Nikolaos Michaloliakos. Anti-immigration, isolation, nationalism… spouted with ear-assailing passion and vehemence. Remind you of anyone? All fanatical, charismatic psychopaths share certain traits – loud proclamations, soul-stirring speeches and gut wrenching inclusions meant to ensnare the soul and trap the individual with twisted, seductive language where up is down, wrong is right, death is life.

clip_image004_thumb[1]

More is to be gleaned from The Blaze – the only one I know of that’s exposing this spreading cancer:

Vowing to “rid this country of the stench” — a.k.a. immigrants — Golden Dawn’s insignia is entirely too reminiscent of the swastika and its adherents, reportedly clad in black, are often seen physically abusing and intimidating immigrants across the country. Needless to say, Greece’s immigrant community is understandably concerned and opponents are preoccupied with how best to marginalize the Neo-Nazi group that has now gained legitimacy in the halls of government.

Michaloliakos, who is also no fan of the media, said the day of “national revolution by the Greeks has begun against those who are selling us out and looting the sweat of the Greek people.”

It might also be worth noting that “Golden Dawn” takes its name from a “magical order” of Freemasons who practiced in the late 19th and early 20th century Britain. The order has been cited one of the greatest influences on Western occultism.

The silence from the media and the world is deafening and beyond alarming. Israel sees what is happening. What happened to all of us who declared “never again?” Eternity beckons the world into darkness and we are too busy watching American Idol to care. Sigh.

clip_image006_thumb[1]

It is true that the Nazis killed not only Jews and Gypsies, but Communists and Socialists. But in many ways, the Nazis shared common goals with the Communists. That is why they were killed – their ideology competed with Hitler’s vision. Particularly, their economic goals were similar.

From the TIME Magazine profile that named Adolf Hitler its 1934 Man of the Year:

“Most cruel joke of all, however, has been played by Hitler & Co. on those German capitalists and small businessmen who once backed National Socialism as a means of saving Germany’s bourgeois economic structure from radicalism. The Nazi credo that the individual belongs to the state also applies to business. Some businesses have been confiscated outright, on other what amounts to a capital tax has been levied. Profits have been strictly controlled. Some idea of the increasing Governmental control and interference in business could be deduced from the fact that 80% of all building and 50% of all industrial orders in Germany originated last year with the Government. Hard-pressed for food- stuffs as well as funds, the Nazi regime has taken over large estates and in many instances collectivized agriculture, a procedure fundamentally similar to Russian Communism.”

There was a direct correlation between poverty, the increase of unemployment and the rise of Nazism. Think it can’t happen here? If we don’t change our course, look in the mirror at Greece. She is our future on a larger, more deadly scale. It took only 30% to elect Hitler and put him in office with an iron-fisted control of the country.

The fascist boogie fever has hit Greece and is dancing its influence across the planet. Spreading anti-Semitism, hate and fear while dancing to the Nazi beat. It’s literally to die for.

Carnaval (Mardi Gras) Parade in Germany

Karnival or Fasching (Mardi Gras in the cold) Parade in Germany

A picture is worth a thousand words…  Well here are seven.

These floats from last year were part of the annual Carnival Parade in Germany, watched by an estimated 3 million people in 3 German cities including Dusseldorf.

With our controlled press, it is interesting to see that German citizens seem to know more about the U.S. political system and environment than the majority of citizens on the streets of America …  No topics are off limit.

So in reality, socialistic Europe appears to me less politically correct and more open to speaking out than the supposed land of the free… so when did that happen?  (They are also a bit less inhibited about many things.)

One is by the sword. The other is by debt.

ROME

Italy’s welfare minister Elsa Fornero was reduced to tears at a press conference as she outlined tough reforms to pensions contained in the government’s plan to regain control of strained public finances and help solve Europe’s debt crisis.

Under the austerity plan unveiled on Sunday, Italy will raise the minimum pension age for women and men to 66 by 2018, and will scrap annual inflation adjustments for many pensions.

“We had to... and it cost us a lot psychologically... ask for a...” Fornero said, but was unable to complete her sentence as she wiped tears from her eyes.

Prime Minister Mario Monti finished the sentence for her, speaking the word “sacrifice” that she’d been unable say.

Monti has unveiled a 30 billion euro ($51.7 billion) package of austerity measures, raising taxes and increasing the pension age in a drive to shore up Italy’s strained finances and stave off a crisis that threatens to overwhelm the euro zone.

Packed into a single emergency decree which comes into effect before formal parliamentary approval, the measures followed growing pressure for sweeping measures to restore confidence in the euro zone’s third-largest economy.

Monti said the package, divided between 20 billion euros of budget measures over 2012-14 and a further 10 billion euros in measures to boost growth, was painful but necessary.

“We have had to share the sacrifices, but we have made great efforts to share them fairly,” he told a news conference, in which he said he had renounced his own salary as prime minister and economy minister.

The measures come before one of the most crucial weeks since the creation of the single currency more than a decade ago, with European leaders due to meet on Thursday and Friday in Brussels to try to agree a broader rescue plan for the bloc.

Multiculturalism on Way Out…

Multiculturalism is on its way out in Europe Because It Doesn’t Work… Are We Smart Enough to Follow Their Lead?

Netherlands Abandons Multiculturalism

Posted by Dr. Rich Swier on August 12, 2011 at 3:33pm

I have written about the dangers of multiculturalism. When ethnic, religious or immigrant groups do not assimilate into a host nation's society bad things happen. Those countries that try to accommodate multiculturalism end up creating a "state within a state". This multiculturalist state at some point begins to flex is political muscle and demands rights not conferred upon native born or naturalized citizens.

Some even demand the host society pay for their presence in order to placate them. In the United States we have illegal aliens demanding citizenship, access to free education, and medical care not offered to native born or naturalized citizens.

Soeren Kern in Hudson New York reports, "The Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands."

According to Soeren, "A new integration bill (covering letter and 15-page action plan), which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, [2011] reads: 'The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people. In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role. With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society'."

The letter continues: "A more obligatory integration is justified because the government also demands that from its own citizens. It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands. The integration will not be tailored to different groups."

The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants. For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language, and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants to ignore Dutch values or disobey Dutch law.

This effort is supported by the new center-right government of Conservatives (VVD) and Christian Democrats (CDA), with parliamentary support from the anti-Islam Freedom Party (PVV), led by Geert Wilders.

Soeren reports, "[P]olls show that a majority of Dutch voters support the government's skepticism about multiculturalism. According to a Maurice de Hond poll published by the center-right newspaper Trouw on June 19, 74 percent of Dutch voters say immigrants should conform to Dutch values. Moreover, 83 percent of those polled support a ban on burqas in public spaces.

Dutch Interior Minister Donner said, "his government "will distance itself from the relativism contained in the model of a multicultural society. Although society changes it must not be 'interchangeable with any other form of society'."

A lesson learned in Europe.

This is exactly what Herman Cain was talking about a few weeks ago and was criticized for and called to task on again on last Thursday’s debate.  Herman Cain says no Sharia Law for America!  Video Here.

Yep, multiculturalism has failed and the worst is yet to come

The Fire This Time  -  By Patrick J. Buchanan

"You've damaged your own race," said Mayor Michael Nutter to the black youths of Philadelphia whose flash mobs have been beating and robbing shoppers in the fashionable district of downtown.
"Take those God-darn hoodies down," the mayor went on in his blistering lecture. "Pull your pants up and buy a belt, 'cause no one wants to see your underwear or the crack of your butt."

And the mayor had some advice for teenagers looking for work.
"You walk into somebody's office with your hair uncombed and a pick in the back and your shoes untied and your pants half down, tattoos up and down your arms and on your neck, and you wonder why somebody won't hire you?"

"They don't hire you 'cause you look like you're crazy."
Nutter is African-American and the first leader to speak out about the racial character of the flash mobs attacking people in one American city after another. And where are our other leaders?
At the Iowa State Fair last August, black thugs beat a white man so savagely he was hospitalized. Police only began to look into the possibility of a racial attack and hate crime after fair-goers said the thugs were calling it "Beat Whitey Night."

After Memorial Day, Chicago cops had to close a beach when a flash mob formed, attacked people and knocked cyclists off bikes.
In Miami Beach, there were beatings and shootings that same weekend. In D.C., flash mobs of black youths have turned up a half-dozen times in stores to loot clothes and merchandise and flee.
The media almost never identify the race of the thugs. Their reticence would disappear were a white mob in some Southern city to be caught beating up on black shoppers at a mall.

But the flash mob scourge hitting U.S. cities has been eclipsed by the pillaging and burning of London and other British cities in the worst violence visited on that nation and its capital since Goering's Luftwaffe executed the "Blitz."

Thousands of hoodlums, thugs and criminals have firebombed buildings, looted stores and stripped, beaten and robbed people for no reason other than that they were white.

Overwhelmed cops virtually surrendered the city for three days. By the fourth night, the rampage had taken on a multiethnic caste as Asians and white trash appeared to join in the festival of criminality.

Asian and black store owners, too, are victims. In Birmingham, three Pakistani men defending their neighborhood were run over and killed by a truck reportedly driven by a black rioter.

In a country-and-gospel tune recalled often in the '60s, the one that gave James Baldwin the title of his polemic, this couplet appears:

God gave Noah the rainbow sign,
No more water, the fire next time.

A half-century after the long hot summers of the 1960s and two decades after the worst riot in U.S. history since the New York draft riots of 1863 -- the Los Angeles riot of 1992, in which blacks and Hispanics attacked Koreans and whites -- the "next time" may have arrived.

In Europe, the harbinger of the new century came a half-decade ago when North African youths in the Paris banlieues went on a days-long rampage of firebombing cars and attacking police and firemen, many of whom drove off and let the fires burn out.

This week, it was London's turn. And when the fires burn out, we shall hear anew the old liberal litany about poverty, despair, inequality and unemployment, the excuses that long ago ceased to persuade.

For poverty existed in far greater measure in the Depression. Yet our parents and grandparents did not form mobs to burn, beat and loot.

The West is in decline because the character of its people is in decline. In Europe, Christianity is dead. The moral code it gave men to live righteously is regarded with mockery. The London riots were the work of moral barbarians with no loyalty to the people in whose midst they live and no love for the society to which they give nothing, only take.

In America, millions of fatherless young seek out in gangs the familial ties they never knew. Those gangs are now almost always formed on the basis of ethnicity or race.

What were the British thinking when they threw open their doors to mass immigration from the Third World?

Over centuries, they had failed to assimilate a few million Irish, who were European Christians. So, having failed to assimilate the Irish, they decided to invite in millions of Hindus and Muslims from South Asia, Arabs from the Middle East, Africans from the sub-Sahara, black folks from the Caribbean.

But with no common faith or culture to hold the nation together, Britain is coming apart. Multiculturalism has "utterly failed," said Germany's Angela Merkel, only to be echoed by Nicolas Sarkozy and David Cameron.

Is multiculturalism a success here? Or does the sudden eruption of flash mobs suggest that the curtain has begun to be pulled back on diversity's dark side here in America?

Wake-up America… since we haven’t managed to use our common sense perhaps we can read the signs and warning from Europe… just look at France and the riots in Great Britain this past week.  Multiculturalism like political correctness are tools of the Progressive left, of Marxism, and they don’t work.  They destroy societies and whole countries!!

Snowed In: A Photo Journey Across A Paralyzed Europe

Snowed In: A Photo Journey Across A Paralyzed Europe

Tyler Durden's pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 12/21/2010 10:30 –0500  -ReutersUnited Kingdom

Traveling to Europe? Not so fast. Most airports in western and central Europe are at best open on an intermittent basis, and at worst completely shut down, with the UK taking the brunt of the storm. Disruptions in traffic continue for a fourth day as travellers across the continent are paralyzed and scrambling to find way to get home, with just 4 days until Christmas. For all those reading Zero Hedge from some airport terminal, our condolences. As always, nothing conveys the story as well as a few simple pictures: we have compiled a representative sample of snapshots from across Europe to show just why all those hoping for a strong holiday retail season in Europe will be very disappointed.
