Calling all critically-thinking American Patriots! Our once-great Republic and bastion of freedom for the world is being forced over the edge of the precipice!
America has been completely infiltrated by evil marxist/communist/islamist destroyers, from the office of POTUS, the DOJ, the SCOTUS and all the way down through the state governments and courts, to some county sheriffs. Apparently corruption does run downhill. And let’s not forget that they own and control all of the main-sleaze-media. Most American citizens were raised on television and are completely programmed to accept whatever propaganda that spews forth from the pieholes of the traitorous media/talking heads. The coup is now complete. The US Constitution and Rule of Law are completely disregarded and the ugly reality is that We the People have absolutely nowhere to go for redress of grievances.
So the time for writing letters, faxes and emails or calling our so-called representatives, signing and sending petitions, going to Town Hall meetings, filing endless eligibility or treason lawsuits in corrupt courts, or even voting in elections, the results of which are foregone conclusions due to voter fraud and electronic voting machine manipulation, is OVER! Ever wonder how Reid and McCain could ever have been reelected?
All they do is laugh at us and send, if anything, insulting responses to our legitimate grievances. Every one of our concerns falls on deaf, corrupted ears. We the People have been completely marginalized and are deemed insignificant by our so-called elected representatives. The Will of the People is simply a joke to these elitist scum. This evil, totally corrupt government MUST be replaced with extreme prejudice if this nation is to survive at all.
We know Barry Soetoro is Constitutionally ineligible. We know he is guilty of treason and fraud. We know all of the COLBS and the most recent so-called LFBC are ALL electronically manipulated forgeries. We know the usurper is using fraudulent Social Security numbers. We know he is guilty of committing a long list of felonies.
We know, we know, we know! The problem is, the coup is complete and the enemy is fully entrenched. It doesn’t matter if we have 100%, ROCK-solid, irrefutable PROOF; none of the lower courts, the DOJ, or the SCOTUS are going to hear it. No elected complicit criminal official is going to listen. The alphabet law enforcement agencies will not listen. The military will not listen. The media certainly will not listen. They have ALL been corrupted, coerced or threatened into submission.
We can NOT vote out the corruption. Let me say that one more time for effect: We can NOT vote out the corruption. The traitors Scott Brown, Allen West and the 112th Congress are proof enough of that. There is absolutely no difference between Republicans and Democrats. They are all selected, vetted, inserted and ultimately controlled by the same elitist scum. I’ll say it again: We the People have absolutely nowhere to turn for redress of grievance, nowhere.
Now for the million-dollar questions: How do We the People remove, arrest and convict Barry Soetoro? How do we arrest, convict and replace the entire treasonous, complicit government and media? How do we restore the Constitutional Rule of Law and the Republic? I don’t know yet. What I do know is that these things must be done NOW!
That is the point of this editorial: to begin to focus the indomitable American spirit and intellect on what MUST be done now, figure it out, and get it done NOW, without violence and bloodshed while we still can. After all, the writers and readers of The Post & Email and all the other Constitutional websites, blogs and forums, the “We the People” who are awake, aware, and “get it,” are the Sheepdogs! It’s up to us to figure it out and get it done now before it’s too late! So what’s a Sheepdog, you ask?
Here is the nasty little secret that Barry Soetoro and his handlers don’t want you to know. We the People have ALL the power; yes, that’s right; we just don’t realize it. We have been deceived into believing that the federal government has all the power, as in the wimpy little wizard behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. There are over 300 million Sovereigns in America vs. 535 corrupt officials in the District of Criminals. Even if you added in all of their evil minions and their numbers rose to 535,000 it would still be an easy rout for an enlightened We the People.
So therein I suggest lies the answer to restoring the Republic. Big numbers, huge numbers, galactic-sized numbers. We the People/Sheepdogs en masse with at least six zeros. Million(S) of serious, dedicated, fearless Patriots who will gain great strength and conviction from each other’s presence. Combine these huge numbers of the great American spirit with something called an “Orange Revolution” and we may have the key to regaining our Republic and destiny.
Now serious credit needs to be given to the tens of thousands of hard-working, dedicated, fearless Patriots who have worked non-stop for the last three years to expose the ineligibility of Barry Soetoro and corruption on all levels of government. To all of them we extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation. We would not be winning this war without them. Thanks to all of you for all you do for America.
Having said that, the observation could be made that this huge, powerful source of intellectual energy has of late been focused on the seemingly infinite minutiae of the latest fraudulent birth certificate or Social Security number details. By all appearances, this known-to-be fraudulent LFBC was intentionally released to confuse and distract the opposition. Meanwhile Barry Soetoro and his evil minions go merrily about their business of destroying America with full protection and immunity by the DOJ. They don’t even care that it’s fraudulent. I’ll possibly catch a lot of heat for that comment, so just hear me out.
We all know that there is by far enough evidence against Barry Soetoro to warrant a Congressional investigation with full subpoena power. However, all “normal” avenues for redress, as stated previously, have been co-opted, corrupted or threatened into complicity. Maybe now is the time to start looking at ways to arrest and convict Barry Soetoro and his criminal cabal who are outside the norm. Think outside the box and get very aggressive with it.
I am by no means suggesting that anyone quit fighting the usurper on all fronts: non-NBC status, fraudulent COLBs and LFBC, fraudulent Social Security numbers, fraud, treason, etc., etc. What is being suggested is that it may be time to simultaneously start looking at how to use our power (Big Numbers) to achieve the End Game, which is the removal, arrest and conviction of Barry Soetoro and all those complicit in treason and fraud against America. We must always be looking for additional ways to fight smarter and more effectively.
Trump showed us what CAN happen when you have national traction. The original Tea Party march on DC had some big numbers; however, it was downplayed by the state-controlled media and was ultimately ineffective and dismissed by the DC criminals. Why? Because they left and went home and were soon forgotten (out of sight, out of mind). IF we were to “lock down” DC repeatedly or permanently, then our voice would be heard very loudly and clearly, and our redress of grievance would be taken seriously. There would be no way we could be ignored. Think about it.
So, as stated previously, the We the People/Sheepdogs have ALL the power. We just have to assert it, use it effectively, focus it intelligently and we can win back the Republic. And I believe in my heart that at this point, it can be done peacefully. However, if we don’t focus our collective power now, if we wait too much longer, maybe not so much. Time is of the essence, and again, we are being forced over the precipice.
There are tens of thousands of extremely intelligent We the People/Sheepdogs from all walks of life, all seeking the truth on the Internet. There is no denying that there is great strength and wisdom in great numbers. I am only one person and do not presume to have the answers. I am simply putting forth this idea of using our greatest strengths as Americans, which include but are not limited to our indomitable American spirit, our superior intellect, our fearlessness, and our unbounded creativity.
I just want to plant a reminder of what great stock all Americans come from. We are a great and fearless people who have and will again move mountains to remain free and strong. So now all of you honorable Americans, if you deem it to be worthy, take this idea and brainstorm it, run with it and forge it into something so powerful that it can never be denied. Something so righteous and true that evil will scurry away from it like roaches from sunlight.
Here are a few suggestions that may help get the ideas flowing which are certainly dynamic and not at all complete:
OBJECTIVE 1: Remove, arrest and convict Barry Soetoro and anyone else guilty of treason, fraud, or misprision of treason or fraud against America, and 2) Secure the Republic.
ATTAINMENT OF OBJECTIVE:
- Organize a committee of citizens to execute a Citizens’ Arrest of Barry Soetoro, backed up by thousands of Military, Law Enforcement, and Citizen Soldier personnel loyal to the US Constitution.
- Organize a Military coup, backed up by thousands of Military, Law Enforcement, and Citizen Soldier personnel loyal to the US Constitution.
- Create a formal list of criminal charges including evidence for Soetoro, Holder, Pelosi, Reid, etc., in order of severity: 1) Treason 2) Fraud 3) Forgery/Document Fraud 4) Various Felonies, etc., etc. Our many fine Patriot legal minds would be invaluable here: Mario Apuzzo, Leo Donofrio, Philip Berg, Dr. Orly Taitz, etc. Also Bob Schulz of the We the People Foundation and the Articles of Freedom.
- We the People/Sheepdogs will need a LEADER who isn’t a politician. We will need a fearless, Constitutionally- committed LEADER! Possibly Ann Barnhardt; she is certainly fearless, intelligent and trustworthy. Or maybe Dr. Alan Keyes or both. Maybe LTC Lakin or one of our fine retired Military men. Possibly Sheriff Mack or Pastor Chuck Baldwin. I’m just throwing out ideas here; maybe all of the above or a “team of leaders” or a “network of leaders.” Jump in here anytime with anyone you feel has the moral fortitude and grit to lead this movement: Ann Barnhardt; Sheriff Mack; Pastor Chuck Baldwin.
- We will need to network, utilizing all available communications technology to start and maintain the en masse movement and ongoing operations of We the People/Sheepdogs. Also, contingency plans should be put in place for alternative forms of communication, should Barry Soetoro decide to cut the Internet.
- We will need active-duty, veteran and retired Military and Law Enforcement personnel and Security professionals to step forward and help train the civilian We the People/Sheepdogs in confrontation avoidance and de-escalation techniques. They will also be charged with the general Security Operations of the movement.
- We will need to be prepared to implement possible coordinated national strikes, local and national sit-ins, and to lock down DC repeatedly for extended periods or possibly permanently. This will be tough, so maybe we could organize support/relief teams to protest in shifts. We will need to dig deep to find the resolve to pull off an Orange Revolution. So what? Do we want to be free men and women or slaves? Are our children depending on us for their future? Is Western civilization depending on us as the last bastion for individual liberty and freedom? Do we not need to secure America from the threat of islam? Do we not need to secure our northern and southern borders? These imperative operations and so much more can only be accomplished AFTER the Republic is secured. There will be many who say “I have to work,” or this or that. Fine, just get out of the way and we will carry your load. When the destroyers collapse the country your job won’t be there anyway.
- One of the biggest hurdles will be to overcome conditioned apathy, soft tyranny and oppression, and to organize the solidarity and BIG numbers necessary to achieve the objective. I truly believe in the spirit, courage, resolve, and ingenuity of the American people. Additionally, any critically-thinking American can no longer deny that we have been completely infiltrated by a vile, cancerous mix of Marxist, Communist, Islamist, America-hating criminal thugs intent on destroying America and We the People. Denial is no longer an option, nor is failure.
Is it time to stop anti-American influence in American with an Orange Revolution such as occurred in the Ukraine in 2004?
There will be naysayers who will say this could never happen or is not feasible. However, as recent history has proven, Orange Revolutions are very effective. There is great power in MASSIVE numbers of peaceful protesters demonstrating solidarity for a common cause of righteous good: as an example, reclaiming our Republic, securing our future, and removing, arresting and convicting known traitors and usurpers.
The final and most important question is: What are We The People/Sheepdogs going to DO about it, and if not NOW, when?

Big Media Tramples On Constitutional Rights to Protect Antiquated Business Model

In its ongoing battle against music piracy, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is backing a bill in the California legislature, SB 550, which permits the police to disregard the Fourth Amendment. SB 550 would allow law enforcement to search without a warrant any CD, DVD, Blu-Ray or other “optical disc” manufacturer to ensure the discs they are producing carry legally required identification marks. SB 550 easily passed in the Senate yesterday and is now headed to the State Assembly.
The Supreme Court has long recognized that the Fourth Amendment’s prohibition on unreasonable searches and seizures applies to commercial property.1 In most instances, a warrant is required to search a business. However, there is a narrow exception that permits warrantless searches of “closely regulated” industries if: (1) there is a substantial government interest in the search; (2) the warrantless search is necessary to further that interest; and (3) there are constitutionally adequate substitutes for a warrant. Plus, the warrantless searches must be limited in time, place and scope.
SB 550 attempts to frame the optical disc manufacturing industry as “closely regulated”, bringing it within this otherwise narrow exception to the warrant requirement. But there are at least four problems with this theory.
1. Optical Disc Manufacturing Is Not a “Closely Regulated” Industry
A “closely regulated” industry is one that has a history of government oversight and regulation.3 Usually, this means industries that have some connection to the public’s health and safety, such as automobile junkyards, liquor license holders, firearm dealers, mine operators and nursing homes, that require permits to operate.
Optical disc manufacturers, by contrast, have little history of government oversight. Someone who wants to manufacture CDs or DVDs, can just open shop and start production; there are no registration or licensing requirements specific to optical disc manufacturers, apart from the requirement they stamp every disc with a unique identifier.
2. There Is No Substantial Government Interest
All the industries mentioned above have an effect on the public’s health and welfare, which is why the government has a substantial interest in regulating them. This is true even of automotive shops, as car theft leads to higher insurance premiums for consumers. Regulating stolen car parts takes unsafe vehicles off the road, and discourages people from getting shoddy mechanical work with stolen parts. And most importantly, it reduces the violence associated with car theft. The same concern about public health is why the government regulates mining, one of the most dangerous professions in the world.
But there is no substantial government interest in regulating disc manufacturers. According to the bill’s sponsor, state Senator Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima), fraudulent CDs and DVDs “steal revenue from artists, retailers and our entertainment sector” and “undermine our economy and California’s role as a global leader in music and film.” Of course, its important to help make sure artists are rewarded for their hard work. But pursuing that goal shouldn’t come at the cost of ignoring the constitutional rights of California small businesses. And of course, permitting the warrantless searches themselves may undermine the California economy if optical disc producers decide to move their business out of the state altogether to escape the law.
3. Warrantless Searches Are Unnecessary
Search warrants are not impossible to obtain. For more than 200 years, law enforcement officers have obtained search warrants and been able to effectively investigate crime. In California, law enforcement can submit search warrant affidavits by telephone or email.4
Nor is there anything inherently different about investigating optical disc manufacturers that justifies a blanket exception to the Fourth Amendment. If law enforcement agencies tasked with investigating illegal gun and drug trafficking, fraud and physical violence can comply with the Fourth Amendment’s warrant requirement, what makes investigating music piracy any different?
Obtaining a warrant requires only that the police have probable cause to believe a particular manufacturer is engaging in illegal activity. If they have that belief, a warrant can be obtained and a plant searched. The police can still have the element of surprise on their side, as a search warrant does not require prior notice to the businesses or the public.
4. There Are No Limits to the Searches Authorized by SB 550
SB 550 claims that the “scope of the inspection shall be restricted to the physical review of items and collection of information necessary to verify compliance” with state law. But in the next paragraph, the bill empowers law enforcement to:
- Take inventory of all manufacturing equipment
- Review any record, book or document concerning the business
- Remove any disc, production part, record or book for as long as wanted and without any time limitation.
These aren’t limits, but a blank check: without a warrant or any suspicion of wrongdoing, law enforcement can take whatever they want, wherever they want, for as long as they want. Nothing about this is “reasonable” under the Fourth Amendment
SB 550 Is Nothing More Than A Criminal Fishing Expedition
Rather than creating a tool to regulate the optical disc industry, SB 550 arms law enforcement with sweeping new powers with little justification. It’s doubtful that warrantless snooping of optical disc plants will have any effect on the losing battle against piracy. It’s clear that the market for CD sales is shrinking with the advent of digital music files, internet radio stations, and online music lockers. Perhaps the RIAA needs to rethink its business model rather than push for a powerful – and unconstitutional – tool.
All Californians – not just the optical disc industry – should stand up to protect the Fourth Amendment. Now is the time to write your local Assembly member to oppose SB 550 and require law enforcement to come back with a warrant!

John Bolton: Gun control a top goal of Obama 2nd Term

PITTSBURGH—John Bolton suggested Friday that Barack Obama is laying the foundation to push an ambitious gun control agenda if he wins a second term.
Trying to make his background relevant to an audience of gun activists, the former ambassador to the United Nations and dark horse presidential candidate accused the administration of using its own failures in the war against Mexican drug cartels as a pretext for more gun control.
“We can understand that, as he likes to say, he’s playing the long game, and that ‘leading from behind’ means waiting until he’s elected to a second term when he faces no further political constraints and his true agenda can come to the floor,” Bolton told thousands of gun owners at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting here. “And I believe right at the top of it is [to] increase gun control at the federal level and at the international level.”
Bolton focused much of his 11-minute speech on the collapse of order in Mexico, which he worries will continue to spill across the border like a conveyor belt. He cited estimates of 35,000 to 40,000 drug-related homicides in the last five years in Mexico, spoke of how dangerous tourist areas have become and noted recent State Department travel warnings.
“If it weren’t for our demand, the supply wouldn’t be there and the drug cartels wouldn’t be there. But the administration in as cynical a political move as I think we’ve seen in Washington in a long time –and that’s saying something–is using this crisis in Mexico and the use of drugs in our own country not to combat the illicit narcotics but to use it as a foundation to argue for stricter gun controls at the federal level in our country,” he said.
Bolton faulted the administration for having an incoherent foreign policy. He said that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been more honest about the situation in Mexico.
“When they do talk about what’s happening in Mexico, our government, our White House follows the Mexican line by saying that the real problem of drug-related violence in Mexico is caused by guns that have come illegally across the U.S.-Mexican border,” he said.
“This is something that is music to the ears of the gun control advocates in this country,” he added, “because they can say, ‘See, actually, it’s our lack of gun controls, our lack of enforcement, that’s the real cause of the problem. So stiffer gun controls in the United States will solve the problem of drug violence in Mexico and prevent it from coming here.’”
Bolton argued that while some guns used by the gangs in Mexico do come from the United States, “the bulk of those guns” originated from corrupt police and military officials or were procured in the international weapons market.
“The idea that what’s going on in Mexico is somehow our fault because of lax gun control laws here is exactly the kind of subterfuge that the Obama administration would like to carry forward in the near future to get stronger gun control laws here,” Bolton said, “and it will provide a foundation for their argument (on) why the United States will have to enter into, in short order, the United Nations-negotiated arms trade treaty.”
He said there’s a draft circulating of that treaty, which gun control advocates have long wanted the U.S. to sign onto.
“This particular draft is a lot less onerous than it could be,” he said. “It just raises the question of whether they want to hurry this draft through to completion to try and get it considered by the Senate before the next election or whether they’re putting it out as a placeholder for negotiations to be concluded after President Obama wins his next term in office because that’s what they’re looking for.”
Chris Cox, the executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, praised Bolton’s time as ambassador to the UN under George W. Bush.
“When the United Nations wanted to restrict the rights of law abiding Americans to own firearms, this man reminded them that, in the United States, the right to keep and bear arms is not negotiable,” Cox said of Bolton. “He told the UN that they must conform to our Constitution, not the other way around.”

Obama May Grab for Guns
President Obama voiced his support for an anti-gun treaty with such wide ranging implications that it could ban everything from assembling guns in kits to repackaging spent shells.
The treaty was signed by former President Clinton, but never approved by Congress. It has gained approval in 29 other countries. Obama put his weight behind it during his whirlwind tour abroad late last month.
Yesterday’s passage of legislation that revoked the longstanding ban on guns in national parks proved that this treaty would probably fall by the wayside once more, said Larry Pratt, President of Gun Owners of America. But the fact that Obama voiced his support for it speaks volumes about the President’s view of the Second Amendment, after his famous claim to not “take away guns” from law-abiding Americans.
The treaty would “pretty clearly would require, without a whole lot of extrapolation, a regulation of all firearms in the United States,” said Pratt.
Called the “Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials,” the legislation’s bans are multitudinous:
The manufacture or assembly of firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other related materials: a. from components or parts illicitly trafficked; or b. without a license from a competent governmental authority of the State Party where the manufacture or assembly takes place: or c. without marking the firearms that require marking at the time of manufacture.
These sweeping regulations could affect everything from BB guns to toy guns, and could even prevent the individual re-loading of guns by the owners themselves. It could potentially require matching insignia on bullets and shells, meaning that re-use of cases would be illegal – a practice that is more common during a recession.
The regulations could also affect gun clubs, by banning “association or conspiracy” with illegal gun activities. So if an NRA member commits an offense, clubs or advocacy groups could be liable.
The treaty could even call for action against the dealer who sold an offender a weapon. If Mexico calls for the extradition of a gun dealers, the U.S. would be obligated to resolve it by “other means of peaceful settlement” that are yet undefined.
In addition to a Presidential signature, sixty-eight out of 100 Senate members are needed in order for an international treaty to be approved in the United States. But the move to overturn the National Parks gun ban gained 67 signatures, meaning passing further gun restrictions is unlikely, said Provost.
“You have [Senators] who you’re just really surprised are voting pro-gun,” he said.

Senate Approves Coburn Gun Amendment…in Credit Card Bill
The Senate on Tuesday night easily passed an amendment to credit card reform legislation that would allow concealed weapons in national parks. The vote was 67 to 29.
The question now is this: Will a controversial gun proposal attached to popular underlying legislation be the poison pill that sinks that larger bill? That’s been the case with legislation allowing the District of Columbia a voting representative in Congress, to which the Senate attached language scrapping many of Washington’s strict gun control laws. As a result of that gun amendment, the DC-vote bill remains stalled in the House months after it passed the upper chamber.
Now, Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), the chief sponsor of the credit card reform bill, is wondering whether the same might be the fate of his credit card proposal. “My concern is about what the underlying bill — what happens to it,” Dodd said on the chamber floor just before the vote. “I hate to see us lose this opportunity to make a difference with credit card reform.”
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who sponsored the concealed weapons bill, said he supports many of Dodd’s credit card provisions, and didn’t have in mind to offer his amendment just for the purpose of killing the larger bill. “I don’t want to see it fail on this,” Coburn said. “But nor do I want to see the Second Amendment trampled on.”
So much for an easy, clean, must-pass credit card reform bill.

Bill allowing loaded weapons in national parks sent to Obama
WASHINGTON -- Here's a list of stuff the typical American family can legally carry into national parks this summer: sleeping bag, toothbrush, change of underwear ... loaded guns.
Thanks to a 279-147 vote Wednesday in the House of Representatives, visitors to the nation's parks and wildlife refuges will be able to carry weapons there if they abide by state weapons laws.
The bill is on its way to President Barack Obama, who faces a dilemma: Gun rights advocates attached the provision to a sweeping overhaul of the credit card industry, an initiative Obama strongly supports, so he has little choice but to let the gun section become law.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said only that Obama "looks forward" to signing the bill "as quickly as possible," and didn't mention the gun provision.
Gun control advocates howled Wednesday, but to little effect. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, D-N.Y., protested that "the bill has been hijacked," and Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., maintained, "American taxpayers ought to be incensed."
Scot McElveen, president of the Association of National Park Rangers, predicted that the measure would provoke problems at the parks.
"Members of the ANPR respect the will of Congress and their authority to pass laws, but we believe this is a fundamental reversal from what preceding Congresses created the National Park System for. Park wildlife, including some rare or endangered species, will face increased threats by visitors with firearms who engage in impulse or opportunistic shooting."
Nonetheless, the gun measure, which passed the Senate overwhelmingly earlier this month, had strong bipartisan support. In the House, 105 Democrats, most from Southern, Western and rural states, joined 174 Republicans in backing the measure.
Two Republicans, Reps. Michael Castle of Delaware and Mark Kirk of Illinois, and 145 Democrats voted no.
"This is one of those issues that breaks down regionally," explained Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., assistant to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
President Ronald Reagan first required guns to be stored or inoperable in national parks 25 years ago, but last December, just before leaving office, the Bush administration overturned that rule.
That began a game of legal Ping-Pong. In March, U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly overturned the Bush rule, and the Obama administration said it wouldn't appeal.
That action spurred Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., to include the gun rule in the credit card bill. It wound up winning by an unexpectedly lopsided vote.
Coburn and his backers said that they didn't want, nor did they expect, people to be in danger of random shooters in national parks.
"It's really common sense," he said. "This is not about guns. What I want is gun rights. I want our constitutional rights to be protected."
Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, said the measure was also a matter of self-defense.
"The real issue is that law-abiding Americans will no longer be treated as criminals" when they carry weapons, he said.
National Rifle Association officials argued that weapons are needed for protection in parks that are becoming increasingly dangerous. Asked why police couldn't handle criminal activity, Andrew Arulanandam, the NRA's director of public affairs, said, "At that moment when you're confronted by a criminal, it's between you and the criminal. Law enforcement cannot be there in position at any time."
Gun control groups said a new kind of danger would be lurking once the ban was overturned.
"Families should not have to stare down loaded AK-47's on nature hikes," said Paul Helmke, the president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. He added that Obama "should not remain silent while Congress inserts reckless gun policies that he strongly opposes into a bill that has nothing whatsoever to do with guns."
Brady group spokesman David Vice suggested that Democrats were overreacting to gun rights advocates. Democrats still have bitter memories of losing congressional races in more conservative areas in the 1990s after being tagged as soft on guns.
Vice suggested that last year's results, in which Democrats won their biggest congressional majorities since the early 1990s, are evidence that those districts recognize the need for some limits on guns.
"We're trying to change that perception," he said, "but it's been difficult."
