Intent upon linking the genesis of ”gunwalking” to the Bush Administration, the Obama Regime has unwittingly revealed compelling leads to the birth of Operation Fast and Furious, its possible father, former Agent in Charge of the ATF’s Phoenix Branch, William Newell and the man who may be the Operation’s D.C Godfather, White House National Security Council staffer Kevin O’Reilly.
At the beginning of October, the White House released a number of emails shared between Newell and O’Reilly during the summer of 2010. By this frequently employed method of ”selective release”, the Regime intended to relay the ”fact” that as neither Fast and Furious nor “gunwalking” were mentioned in the correspondence, the topics were obviously not directly discussed by the pair. It was hoped that this would bolster the White House claim that it knew nothing of the Operation until TV news reports brought it to the attention of the nation at large in 2011.
But in its expectation that linking gun walking to Bush might take Fast and Furious pressure off the Regime, the White House habit of deliberately providing carefully crafted half-truths or misinformation to media lackeys took a careless turn for the worse.
After it was leaked to him by the White House, AP reporter Pete Yost was only too glad to run with the story of 2007 ATF Operation Wide Receiver and its loss of firearms across the Mexican border during the Bush Administration.
But the Regime’s Ministry of Disinformation provided Yost with too much material. For it was also revealed that the man in charge of that purely accidental ”gun walking” by the Bush led ATF was Phoenix Agent in Charge Bill Newell.

In early 2009, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and other Regime members systematically advanced the phony claim that 90% of weapons found at Mexican crime scenes originated in US gun stores. What better way for Newell to impress his new bosses than by suggesting that walking guns to Mexico might make the 90% claim come nearer to the truth!
And of course, in White House NSC staffer Kevin O’Reilly, Newell had a friend in very high places. So, as Fast and Furious reporter Mike Vanderboegh puts it, ”…Newell may have ”weaponized” the desire for more better statistics on the part of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others to support the…meme…that 90% of weapons seized in Mexico…actually came from American civilian market sources.”
So Newell makes the suggestion, O’Reilly delivers it to the right people in the White House and Fast and Furious is born. Could it have happened that way?
Apparently Congressman Darrell Issa’s House Government Reform Committee takes the possibility quite seriously, for it has just subpoenaed ”all communications TO OR FROM (my caps) William Newell…between December 14th, 2010 to January 25th, 2011 and March 16th to March 19th, 2009.” The date specific requests mean the Committee must have reliable information regarding the associations and correspondence of Newell during those periods. And Newell is known to have spoken often with O’Reilly during that time.
Unlike other Fast and Furious participants who have been promoted or transferred to new positions in Washington D.C., Kevin O’Reilly has been shuffled off to Iraq by the Obama/Holder Department of Justice, out of subpoena range of the Issa/Grassley congressional committees. Remember, there are no coincidences in the Obama Regime.
So did a suggestion to a White House ensconced friend by a practiced “gunwalker” hoping to make a name for himself with the new administration lead to the deadly Fast and Furious scheme? If so, who but Barack Obama & Co could create such a tangled and convoluted web from such a simple beginning!

John Bolton: Gun control a top goal of Obama 2nd Term

PITTSBURGH—John Bolton suggested Friday that Barack Obama is laying the foundation to push an ambitious gun control agenda if he wins a second term.
Trying to make his background relevant to an audience of gun activists, the former ambassador to the United Nations and dark horse presidential candidate accused the administration of using its own failures in the war against Mexican drug cartels as a pretext for more gun control.
“We can understand that, as he likes to say, he’s playing the long game, and that ‘leading from behind’ means waiting until he’s elected to a second term when he faces no further political constraints and his true agenda can come to the floor,” Bolton told thousands of gun owners at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting here. “And I believe right at the top of it is [to] increase gun control at the federal level and at the international level.”
Bolton focused much of his 11-minute speech on the collapse of order in Mexico, which he worries will continue to spill across the border like a conveyor belt. He cited estimates of 35,000 to 40,000 drug-related homicides in the last five years in Mexico, spoke of how dangerous tourist areas have become and noted recent State Department travel warnings.
“If it weren’t for our demand, the supply wouldn’t be there and the drug cartels wouldn’t be there. But the administration in as cynical a political move as I think we’ve seen in Washington in a long time –and that’s saying something–is using this crisis in Mexico and the use of drugs in our own country not to combat the illicit narcotics but to use it as a foundation to argue for stricter gun controls at the federal level in our country,” he said.
Bolton faulted the administration for having an incoherent foreign policy. He said that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been more honest about the situation in Mexico.
“When they do talk about what’s happening in Mexico, our government, our White House follows the Mexican line by saying that the real problem of drug-related violence in Mexico is caused by guns that have come illegally across the U.S.-Mexican border,” he said.
“This is something that is music to the ears of the gun control advocates in this country,” he added, “because they can say, ‘See, actually, it’s our lack of gun controls, our lack of enforcement, that’s the real cause of the problem. So stiffer gun controls in the United States will solve the problem of drug violence in Mexico and prevent it from coming here.’”
Bolton argued that while some guns used by the gangs in Mexico do come from the United States, “the bulk of those guns” originated from corrupt police and military officials or were procured in the international weapons market.
“The idea that what’s going on in Mexico is somehow our fault because of lax gun control laws here is exactly the kind of subterfuge that the Obama administration would like to carry forward in the near future to get stronger gun control laws here,” Bolton said, “and it will provide a foundation for their argument (on) why the United States will have to enter into, in short order, the United Nations-negotiated arms trade treaty.”
He said there’s a draft circulating of that treaty, which gun control advocates have long wanted the U.S. to sign onto.
“This particular draft is a lot less onerous than it could be,” he said. “It just raises the question of whether they want to hurry this draft through to completion to try and get it considered by the Senate before the next election or whether they’re putting it out as a placeholder for negotiations to be concluded after President Obama wins his next term in office because that’s what they’re looking for.”
Chris Cox, the executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, praised Bolton’s time as ambassador to the UN under George W. Bush.
“When the United Nations wanted to restrict the rights of law abiding Americans to own firearms, this man reminded them that, in the United States, the right to keep and bear arms is not negotiable,” Cox said of Bolton. “He told the UN that they must conform to our Constitution, not the other way around.”

Glenn also talks about distractions; things like the White House not making an Easter message, the focus on the Birther or more accurately Eligibility issue, etc. He has a point about the distractions, but remember the ‘Eligibility’ subject as well as a few others are pretty much no-no’s on Fox. Fox is the best network out there, but they too have some untouchable subjects… Instead of going away, after spending millions to fight the so-called Birthers, more people believe today than believed in 2008 that either Obama was not born in the U.S., somehow does not meet the Constitutional qualifications to be President of the United States, or is hiding something… the info on his father, his parents or his religion. But something just isn’t right. And if we have a person in the White House who can’t be president it is serious and we need to know before the 2012 Election! Last I checked… the comments on facebook, his site and everywhere else were overwhelming pro-Glenn on everything he said on his show today… except on the eligibility issue.
Please check out the new proposed passport application that not everyone will be asked to fill out??? But if it ends up being you, you either won’t want to or won’t be able to. Are trying to keep people locked in the country now?? And how much information is too much information??

Only About 10% of Weapons Used By Mexican Drug Cartels Come From America Says Former Drug Czar William Bennett
William Bennett, former drug czar, verifies that the notion being floated by liberal media and the Obama administration, but disputed by most reliable sources, on the weapons used by Mexican Drug Cartels coming primarily from the United States ‘is false’!!!
Secretary of State Clinton and others have tried to push the notion that 90% of the weapons flowing into Mexico come from the United States. That has already been repudiated. In reality 90% of the weapons captured from the Cartels,that they could identify, were from the United States. That is because the United Stats is diligent at marking the weapons produced in the U.S. for identification which is now being used against us by our own government.
In reality only between 10% and 15% of all weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels come from the United States; William Bennett said 10% in his interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s Situation Room. And if anyone should know, it would be William Bennett!
Dr. William Bennett serves as a political contributor and Republican strategist on CNN’s The Situation Room.
In addition to serving as a CNN contributor, Bennett is the host of a nationally broadcast radio show called Morning in America. In the 1980s, Bennett was the secretary of education and the chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities under President Ronald Reagan. Following that, he served as President George H.W. Bush's "drug czar." He currently serves as chairman of Americans for Victory over Terrorism, a project dedicated to sustaining and strengthening public opinion as the war on terrorism moves forward.
Also an author, Bennett has written and edited 16 books, including The Book of Virtues and The Children's Book of Virtues. The success of The Book of Virtues led to the creation of a PBS series, seen in the United States, Great Britain and 65 other countries.
In April 2005, Bennett was described in the New York Times as the "leading spokesman of the Traditional Values wing of the Republican Party."
Bennett studied philosophy earning his bachelor’s degree at Williams College and his doctorate at the University of Texas. He earned his law degree from Harvard University. He is the Washington fellow of the Claremont Institute.

Hezbollah Smuggling Across U.S.- Mexican Border
America’s porous southern border is an entry point for more than Mexican cartels and their illegal drugs — the Iranian-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah has been smuggling drugs and people into the U.S. as well.
Hezbollah has long been involved in narcotics and human trafficking in South America, and is now using the same routes into the U.S. that the Mexican cartels use for smuggling, according to an exclusive report in The Washington Times.
The group relies on “the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers, and transportation experts as the drug cartels,” said Michael Braun, who recently retired as assistant administrator and chief of operations at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
“They work together. They rely on the same shadow facilitators. One way or another, they are all connected,” he said.
Hezbollah, which fought a 34-day war with Israel in 2006, funds its operations in part from a large Lebanese Muslim diaspora, and some of that funding comes from criminal enterprises.
Salim Boughader Mucharrafille, a Mexican of Lebanese descent, was arrested in 2002 for smuggling 200 people, including Hezbollah supporters, into the U.S. He was sentenced last year to 60 years in a Mexican prison.
But the cross-border flow of drugs and people has intensified since the U.S. reduced access to the country by air and water following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. And the drug wars between the cartels have claimed the lives of more than 8,000 people since January 2008, destabilizing Mexico along the border and prompting President Barack Obama to send additional agents there.
Adm. James Stavridis, commander of U.S. Southern Command, recently told a House committee that the connection between drug traffickers and “Islamic radical terrorism” is a growing threat to the U.S.
Braun said members of the Quds force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have been operating in South America and “could be commanding and controlling Hezbollah’s criminal enterprises from there.”
And a senior U.S. defense official said that in addition to Hezbollah,
al-Qaida could also use the Mexican cartels’ trafficking routes to smuggle operatives into the U.S.
“The Mexican cartels have no loyalty to anyone,” another official told the Times. “They will willingly or unknowingly aid other nefarious groups’ [entry] into the U.S. through the routes they control. It has
already happened. That’s why the border is such a serious national security issue.”
