Bill, Ted, Antonio, Joe, Debbie and Friends Take Us All to an Alternative Universe….

Watching the Democrat National Convention, as I had the Republican National Convention the week before, (completely opposite in tone) I felt like I was watching one of those 1980’s Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure [just released in Blu—ray perhaps specifically for this occasion]... movies.  And when I heard Anderson Cooper say he felt like Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was in an alternative universe it struck me that not only was I watching one, but that is where the Democrat Party had gone and was taking us all to if  President Obama is re-elected… to an alternative universe.  The next four years would be Bill, Ted, Antonio, Joe, Debbie and Friends taking us all to an Alternative Universe…  The Obama Universe from where there would be no return.

The DNC platform, speakers and their points, plus the people behind the scenes pulling the strings are as far left as you can get in American politics and from the response, votes and cheering in the Hall, so are the delegates and much of the Democrat party.  Yet America overall, when polled, is still a center right country that believes in God, their religion (primarily Christian), the bill of rights as written, the Constitution as written and value the traditions that have been handed down from our Founding Fathers and generations of average everyday Americans who came before us.  Even America’s stand on abortion has shifted right.  More Americans now openly say they are pro-life (over 50%) than ever before.  Most Americans are against same sex marriage but agree on some type of civil union giving gays the legal rights of married couples and most prefer small government to the vision of Obama and his Chicago crew now in charge. Approximately 43% of Americans consider themselves to be conservatives (this would be even higher and include many more Latinos if it were not for the immigration issue) and only approximately 20% consider themselves liberals. The rest fall into the independent category or the growing category of those who don’t really care about politics, religion or much or anything except their immediate gratification (personally I would put them in the liberal column).

The Democrat party really now represents what only a generation or two ago would have been considered the fringe of American society and their National Convention displayed that. It was overall dismal and disheartening. In fact, the attacks… the extreme focal issues… and the media bias for and by the Democrat party and their speakers were so overwhelming that even some lefties finally spoke out against it.  Jon Stewart ran more than one satirical clip on his show focusing on the hypocrisy of the Democrat National Convention. And one of the most covered examples was the discourse between and comments by Anderson Cooper from CNN and the DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, known for her lies and smears, over the issue of the DNC removing God and the support for Israel along with the designation for Jerusalem as their official capital from the DNC platform plus promoting abortion at any stage and for any reason. Cooper declared that Wasserman-Schultz was clearly in an alternative universe. Yet the liberal media overall derided the Republican platform as extreme for standing up for Life, the Constitution and against the using of International, especially Sharia, Law in our courts.  But when the group that is supposed to be the watchdog of government misses the spoof on themselves when the real watchdog group Media Research Center  handed out ‘Journalists for Obama’ t-shirts, that were gobbled up by media and visitors to their booth at the DNC convention, there isn’t much more to say. Leftist media Obamaworship is alive and well.

When you cannot ‘honestly’ get a 2/3 vote to reinsert the word God (let alone having delegates booing God) into the Democrat Platform or to re-designate Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East (said to have been removed in this year’s platform in order for the party to align themselves with the President’s beliefs) as well as two other important provisions about Israel that ‘have not’ been reinstated, and your delegates are seen on film booing God, you know you are looking at a party that has left the founding principles of our nation in the dust bin.

Video:  Three Times

(And the Dems have no problem throwing their own own under the bus… Although the outcome of the amended vote was predetermined because it had become a liability, this incident may have ended ultra-liberal Mayor Villaraigosa’s presidential aspirations.

The DNC was a cross between a love-in and a party for the faithful laced with smears, untruths and lies as their drug of choice, that left the Kool-Aid drinkers and media gushing but everyone else flat or angry. Their favorite convention favor was the t-shirt that was supposed to be a joke. And they highlighted Jimmy Carter, the worst president in US history until Obama, Ted Kennedy whose career was marred by the death (murder) of Mary Jo Koepeckne and Ted’s own poor judgment (at best), impeached womanizing President Bill Clinton who essentially dislikes Obama, and VP Joe Biden who kept saying fact-check me and when they did, he got all Pinocchios, like for his tall tale about Obama’s mother. I kept waiting for them to parade out John Edwards, but swift-boated Jon Kerry, who is the richest man ever to run for president (since George Washington) and only paid 12% in taxes and little to charity was disappointing enough.

Over the past year the Dems had tried to create the notion of a (fake) war on women by conservatives, care of Sandra Fluke and her ilk, which the RNC, if watched, completely negated.  But there is a real war on women… WoW by the left which includes their support of gendercide, Sharia Law,and creating dependent women, not to mention the sexism of guys like Democrat leaders Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton:

Political Outcast:

Kennedy-and-ClintonBill Clinton spoke at the Democratic National Convention to save Barack Obama’s failed presidency. But did he instead remind the American people that he mistreated women — from an intern who was the same age of his daughter to his wife who had to grin and bear his infidelity in public? Clinton had sex with an impressionable and vulnerable young woman who was serving as a White House intern. He abused his authority in the same way some teachers abuse their authority by having sex with their students. Then there were the charges of rape by Juanita Broaddrick:

“Michael Isikoff’s book, Uncovering Clinton, and Christopher Hitchens’ book, No One Left to Lie To, argued that Broaddrick’s claim is credible and shows similarities to Paula Jones’ later allegation of sexual harassment. Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen commented, ‘And yet, I cannot get [Broaddrick’s] accusation out of my head. On television, and in interviews with newspaper reporters, Broaddrick appeared credible.’”

Then there’s Democrat Ted Kennedy of Chappaquiddick infamy. The Democrats played a video tribute to the womanizer at the Convention, putting aside his war on women actions. Former Kennedy speechwriter and campaign operative Bob Shrum said in an interview that “over a long period of time” Kennedy was a “a liberal lion, entirely principled” who “could actually get things done.”

A “long period of time” is right. The Chappaquiddick story is so well known that the words “Ted Kennedy” and “Chappaquiddick” are inseparably linked for all time. But there are many people who don’t know the story.

Kennedy was most likely driving under the influence on the evening of July 18, 1969, when he drove his car off Dike Bridge and into Poucha Pond, leaving Mary Jo Kopechne, a young campaign worker, to drown. To add to the tragedy, Kennedy left the scene of the accident and did not report it to the police until 9:45 the next morning. Kennedy hoped to contrive a story that would put Kopechne in the driver’s seat and absolve him of criminal neglect for driving too fast for conditions and under the influence.

Fortunately, no one would go along with this particular lie, although there was still a massive cover-up by the Kennedy political machine to protect the powerful Senator and their own dependent jobs. The Kennedy operatives whisked the other “Boiler Room girls” — who had been with Kennedy and Kopechne at the Lawrence Cottage, where the party was held — off the island and removed any evidence that the senator had been drinking. In addition, the fact of Kennedy’s expired driver’s license disappeared from the Massachusetts motor vehicle office.

Chuck Moss, a journalist for the Detroit News, gets it right in his review of Leo Damore’s Senatorial Privilege: The Chappaquiddick Cover-Up book “reveals the arrogance, the power and the corruption that permitted him to simply walk away into the future, where he can address a nationally televised Democratic convention [in 1988] — on the subject of public morals.”[1]

Let’s not forget John Edwards’s affairs when he was running for the Democrat nomination for president. The media kept the information under wraps like they did for John and Robert Kennedy.

So the next time some Democrat brings up the war on women narrative, just say Kennedy, Clinton, Edwards. Say it over and over again until they start stuttering, go silent, or walk away.

The choice between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney  on November 6th could not be clearer.  But with the make-up of our county and the issues of national debt and joblessness, even for the those who lean left, the question has to be why is the polling so close?  And if it isn’t accurate what will the the voting process and vote counting be like… ?  For those of us who believe that the Obama administration has already taken us much further into that alternative universe known as Obamaland this is the the real problem we face. And no matter how many re-counts, new elections or judicial reviews it takes to get it right before calling (or conceding) an election or seating a candidate (President or downline), we must stand our ground. Voter fraud, manipulation and inaccuracies in the vote counting is perhaps the biggest challenge for Election 2012; that and the awareness (or lack of) of the average voter.

PREDETERMINED: Photo proves DNC teleprompter loaded to affirm 2/3rds vote regardless outcome and Perhaps the End of Villaraigosa Presidential Aspirations…

Dems rewrite their platform (again) after fallout… Delegates vote ‘NO’ 3-times, Villaraigosa declares it passed anyway to boos… without roll call vote

The Right Scoop:

Hannity reveals that the DNC teleprompter was already loaded with language instructing the DNC leader to force the God/Jerusalem language back into the party platform, regardless the actual vote by the delegates:

DNC Delegate threatens to kill Mitt Romney

The Blaze reports:

During the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, TheBlaze took to Time Warner Cable Arena to speak with delegates about the most pressing issues of our time. Most of those interviewed were good sports, answering questions about the trajectory of the country under Obama, the Affordable Care Act and even Socialism.

One of our conversations took an unexpected turn, however, when we asked New York delegate Julia Rodriguez about her views on the direction of the country. Rodriguez promptly shouted that she would, in fact, like to “kill” Mitt Romney.

Ask Marion:

This not only shows that more Democrat delegates want the word God, any reference to Israel and the designation of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel off their platform than not, but it shows the underhandedness of our ‘transparent’ President and his Team as well as possibly the end of Mayor Villaraigosa future Presidential Aspirations… Think about it!?!

Every now and again Jon Stewart pisses off his liberal audience with a bit slamming Democrats. They are especially funny to watch because the audience fails to laugh at them - even though it’s the exact same jokes he does to Republicans all the time. This time he aired a piece slamming the ‘party of inclusiveness’ and ‘tolerance’ who just don’t seem all that inclusive or tolerant - WATCH.

Dems to White House: Rein in the EPA !!

Dems to White House: Rein in the EPA !
Hotair ^ | 04/07/2011 | Ed Morrissey  -  Re-Posted on Thu Apr 07 2011 13:34:10 GMT-0600 (Mountain Daylight Time) by SeekAndFind on FreeRepublic

Yesterday, the Senate had several opportunities to put a leash on the EPA and its attempt to grant itself jurisdiction on climate-change regulation. Proposals from both Republicans and Democrats failed to pass cloture yesterday, but the number of Democrats crossing over to push back against regulation sends a message to the White House that opposition to their plans to conduct an end-around Congress has now achieved bipartisan status:

In a series of Senate votes Wednesday on measures to block or limit EPA climate rules, 17 Democrats broke with their party to support measures to rein in one of the administration’s top environmental policy initiatives. Four went so far as to side with a GOP-led effort to nullify EPA’s climate rules altogether: Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Mark Pryor of Arkansas.

In the House, meanwhile, about a dozen Democrats are expected to join a near-unanimous GOP caucus to vote for an almost identical anti-EPA bill on Thursday. In what could be a test vote for final passage, 12 Democrats broke ranks Wednesday to vote in favor of the rule to move forward with the bill, introduced by Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton (D-Mich.). …

Rep. Dennis Cardoza, a California Democrat, told POLITICO earlier this week that there’s growing opinion among Democrats that EPA is becoming a “rogue agency,” adding that the White House needs to take action to curb the agency’s power. “I think the president’s out of step on this one, and he’s going to have to get his agency under control,” he said.

In the Senate on Wednesday, even Democrats who are typically backers of the Obama administration – like Max Baucus of Montana, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and Carl Levin of Michigan – jumped on the anti-EPA bandwagon to endorse Democratic amendments to curtail the agency’s power. Those amendments were aimed at allowing vulnerable Democrats to take slaps at EPA that could protect them in upcoming elections.

Don’t get too enthused over the bipartisanship, of course. The Senate votes in particular were safe enough to cast. Harry Reid didn’t bring the bills to the floor until he was certain they wouldn’t pass cloture.

However, it took him a couple of weeks to reach that certainty, which gives an indication just how unpopular the EPA effort has become. The very fact that vulnerable Democrats feel the need to take these votes demonstrates the extent to which Lisa Jackson’s EPA has grown extreme. Inevitably, that will be expressed in one fashion or another in Congress, Time’s Bryan Walsh warns:

So environmentalists can breathe a sigh of relief—but not a deep one. Today’s events shows that the mood on Capitol Hill has definitely turned against advocates of action on climate change, leaving greens essentially playing defense. More worrying, environmentalists have to wonder just how solid the White House will be on this issue. The Obama Administration has sent mixed signals on whether it would go to the mat for the EPA on climate change specifically. In conservations with environmental leaders at the Fortune Brainstorm Green meeting earlier this week, it became clear that while they felt confident of the White House’s backing against any efforts to undo protections around public health—like a move by Republicans to weaken EPA regulations on mercury emissions—greens aren’t so sure that Obama will be with them on climate change. It was telling that in a major speech last week on energy, Obama barely mentioned global warming and did not talk about defending EPA regulations on carbon.

In any case, it’s all hands on deck time for environmental organizations, who’ve seen a stunning reversal of fortune since the heady days of 2009. Their best hope might be the Republican party itself, simply going too far and inviting a public backlash. “This is a huge overreach,” Environmental Defense Fund president Fred Krupp told me on Monday. “The public wants clean air. They want to know that government regulation is keeping them safe from industrial pollution.” I think Krupp is right—but wanting clean air isn’t the same thing as wanting climate regulation.

It’s not the same thing at all. The public mainly supports efforts on particulate emissions where science clearly shows danger to the public. Carbon dioxide is a naturally-occurring element necessary for life on Earth, whereas chlorofluorocarbons and carbon monoxide are most decidedly not. The science on global warming is hardly conclusive, and some would argue hardly a science at all. Americans don’t want to sacrifice their economic future for a religious belief system to limit a non-toxic emission, and the longer Democrats go before realizing it, the greater the damage to their political prospects will be. Congressional Democrats seem to have belatedly awoken to that danger.

ALAN GRAYSON’S LAST STAND: ODD LIMBAUGH, BECK, O’REILLY, HANNITY, PALIN SLIDESHOW

How does an angry, defeated congressman spend his last days on Capitol Hill? By attacking prominent conservative media figures, of course.

That’s exactly what Alan Grayson did for five minutes on the House floor today. The soon-to-be former Florida Democrat thought the best use of taxpayer dollars was for him to attack Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and George W. Bush by attempting to show how extending Bush-era tax cuts for the “rich” means these conservatives will make” extra money.

LATEST BIDEN GAFFE: VP FLUBS SENATE SWEAR-IN

Another day, another gaffe from Vice President Joe Biden. This time, however, Biden’s error involved the swearing in of the newest U.S. Senator.

Illinois Senator-elect Mark Kirk was at the Capitol Monday to take his oath of office, administered by Biden, the constitutionally appointed president of the Senate.

“Please place your right hand on the Bible,” Biden instructed Kirk.

Kirk followed Biden’s direction, placing his right hand on the Bible and raising his left hand in the air.

But as the Chicago Tribune points out, the “Traditions of the United States Senate” dictates that Senators take their oath of office by raising his or her right hand, not their left.

Video:  Joe Biden’s Right Hand Gaffe

Elizabeth Alexander, Biden’s spokeswoman, said Tuesday there’s no do-over in the works. “We’ve checked with the Senate parliamentarian, and he’s told us that whether Senator Kirk held up his left or right hand is of no consequence and has no bearing on his status as a sitting senator,” she said.

Sitting Senate historian Donald Ritchie, told of the incident, said it brought to mind Chief Justice John Roberts getting the words wrong when administering the oath of office to President Barack Obama.

“People make mistakes,” Ritchie shrugged. Still, he agreed Monday’s miscue is inconsequential.

“The importance of the oath is that you agree with the oath, not that you raise a particular hand or you hold a particular Bible,” he said. “All are completely secondary to your commitment to upholding the Constitution and supporting the United States.”

Kirk’s swearing-in was re-enacted immediately afterward in the ornate Old Senate Chamber, where still cameras are allowed (unlike on the Senate floor, where the oath was recorded on video). Kirk, on his second try, got it right.

Right vs left hand.  It would seem that this mix-up as inconsequential as Sarah Palin’s recent North vs. South Korea misstatement.  But what are the chances the mainstream media will give Biden’s gaffe as much attention?

Some Tax and Budget Updates and Thoughts...

Proudly Serving California's 48th District

From Congressman John Campbell's Laptop to Yours

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Quote of the Day:  "The reality is, this budget resolution - and the Republican Party's policies - have instigated a dangerous spiral of deficits and debt that constitute nothing less than fiscal child abuse, because they will immorally force our children and grandchildren to pay our bills.” – May 19, 2006 House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD)

Value for Money: Back when I was in the private sector and had an honest & productive job, we were always trying to offer the customer more value for their money. If we could keep the same product and lower the price, that provided more value to the customer. Or, if we could include more product or service for the same price, that also provided more value to the customer. People like getting value for their money.

I have noticed lately that politicians try to do the same thing. They (I know I should say we, but I really hate to call myself that) want to act like they are giving you all kinds of government services and benefits for a low price.....which means taxes. There's nothing wrong with the objective of providing more for less, but there are several backhanded ways that politicians go about doing it. Therein lies the difference:

  1. They can provide you with lots of free stuff and charge (tax) someone else to pay for it. As long as you give the free stuff to the majority of people and have a minority of people pay for it, then in their mind it is a winning strategy. This is embodied in the age-old adage, "tax the rich" in order to give you something free. Or for a more recent example, taxing "evil smokers" to give someone else something for free. President Obama espouses this approach in his rhetoric, although in practice his spending plans are so huge that he will, and is, taxing everyone to pay for them. By the way, the first tax increase of the Obama administration went into effect on Tuesday with a huge increase in the federal tobacco tax. And that increase is not limited only to smokers who make over $250,000 per year.
  2. The most common approach is to provide you with services and not charge you directly for the cost of those services.  Choosing instead to borrow the money so that a future generation must pay for the stuff you get. Both Republicans and Democrats have run up debts and deficits because they were unwilling to tax you as much as they wanted to demonstrate how much free stuff they could give you.
  3. Another approach is to get some other politician or level of government to raise the tax so you can give the free stuff while someone else gets the blame for taxing you to pay for it. When local and state governments come to Washington in search of earmarks for their local pet projects, this is exactly what they are doing. They want to pay for local projects out of taxes they don't control. That way, they appear to be giving you a lot for your local tax dollar. But in reality, you are paying for it out of another pocket. The allure of this is why it is so difficult to end the abusive and corrupting practice of earmarks.

Frankly, all of these approaches stink. Those of us in elected office should be up front about the cost of government and what taxes are necessary to pay for it. If we want to give you more value, then we should make the government program or service more efficient.

It is important to know that the Obama/Pelosi budget that just passed the House and Senate hides the ball in the most insidious of ways. This budget passed without a single Republican vote in either the House or the Senate and a number of moderate Democrats joined Republicans to vote ‘no.’ That demonstrates how extreme and how far left the Pelosi/Obama agenda is. The spending increases are so massive that it doubles the national debt in only 5 1/2 years and triples it in 10 years. The government can probably not even sell that much debt. We’ve already seen this scenario play out in the UK and Germany, where issuances of their national debt failed to attract enough buyers. If the President wanted to balance his budget, he would need to increase every federal tax on every American by at least 30%. That means an increase on your payroll taxes, gas taxes, income taxes, alternative minimum taxes, corporate tax, capital gains tax, cigarette tax, excise taxes, etc by 30% each.  This is in addition to what he has already proposed.

This budget already contains a number of tax increases, including a "carbon tax" called "cap and trade," which will likely double everyone's electricity and heating bills. But Obama and Pelosi clearly do not want you to know what it will take to pay for all the government stuff they want to give you. By the way, the two Republican budget alternatives (which failed to pass of course) are not rocket science. They simply don't increase spending or taxes and, therefore, don't have as much debt or deficits.  It is really quite simple.

You can confiscate all income over $250,000, and it still won't be enough to pay for all the socialized government services that the President wants to do. So, he will have to tax the middle class in order to give services to......the middle class. This is what is so absurd about his plans. It is universally acknowledged that it makes no sense to tax someone in order to have the government give them that same money back in the form of some government program. Government is too inefficient. This is why socialism fails because this widespread inefficiency makes the entire economy weaker and what results is more unemployment, less opportunity, and a lower standard of living for everyone.

I want to give you more for your money. We all do. But we should neither trick you, nor hide the ball through earmarks or pretend like someone else will pay for your free stuff. YOU will pay for YOUR free stuff one way or another. We should be honest about the taxes necessary and work to make government more efficient, not bigger.

Until next week, I remain respectfully,

Congressman John Campbell

Both Republicans and Democrats are responsible for the countries present problems and it is true that President Obama inherited the present crisis, but he and his party have made it worse and truly have committed generational theft, now that they are in power.  The Dems have gone wild with Pelosi, Reid and Obama all in step.

And, you can't keep blaming it on the last guy if you add Trillions to the debt!!

Gingrich Warns of Conservative 3rd Party in 2012

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich warns that conservatives could leave the GOP and form a third party in 2012 if Republicans don’t do more to rein in government spending.

“If the Republicans can’t break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012, Gingrich said during an address to students at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Gingrich attacked President Barack Obama’s “monstrosity of a budget,” but acknowledged that Republicans are also to blame for the huge increase in federal spending, CNN reported.

“Remember, everything Obama’s doing, Bush started last year,” he said.

“If you’re going to talk about big spending, the mistakes of the Bush administration last year are fully as bad as the mistakes of Obama’s first two, three months.”

Gingrich predicted that “fed up” Americans will instigate a “nationwide rebellion at the polls,” and said the increased government spending under Obama is “literally irrational.”
