CNN / GOP Tea Party Debate - The True Winners

CNN teamed up with the Tea Party Express to air another GOP Debate live from Tampa FL last night.

Patriots, give yourselves a round of applause. You were the true stars and winners of the CNN/Tea Party Express Republican Presidential Debate last night. Opinions vary as to which presidential candidate won. We The People were the biggest winners because for the first time millions who do not watch Fox News, do not listen to conservative talk radio and do not read conservative blogs got to see who we really are; not a bunch of redneck racists.

As Mary and I sat in the audience, I felt extremely proud of my Tea Party family. You showed the world you are articulate and well-informed regarding the issues. Regardless of the candidate, in response to their answers, you cheered and booed at the correct times. The contrast between tea party patriots and clueless Obama voters is quite glaring.

Brother and sister patriots, we have come a long way in two and a half years. I realized at the debate the days of simply attending “ra-ra” rallies are over. You guys have morphed into a massive army of well-educated well-prepared foot soldiers; boots on the ground doing the work to take back America. Just as Jesus instructed His disciples to fail not to assemble themselves together, tea party rallies are now for inspiration, ministering to each other and fellowship.

Each of you please continue using your gifts and talents and following your passion for our common goal. And still, our extraordinary Tea Party movement does not have a single Commander-in-Chief.

On second thought, I take that back. I believe we DO have a Commander-in-Chief. God!

I was amazed by the number of you who told me about your new conservative radio show, new books, new outreach to minorities, new art project to spread the conservative message, new prayer group for America and etc. You guys blew me away. You are awesome! We are winning! God bless.

Tea Party Express – 9/12 March on Washington Update…

The actual numbers are still out on today’s March on D.C., but ABC News (who like the other two network news outlets usually doesn’t even acknowledge tea party activities) estimates 1.5 million people attended the rally in Washington.  The D.C. official estimate was given as 60,000+ (and we know it was the Washington Dem’s and White House goal to ignore the event and report low numbers to mark it a failure (full story)  and Senator Jim DeMint (author of Saving Freedom) and Rep Mike Pence who attended the Washington rally were interviewed early in the day conservatively estimated the crowd (along with Fox News) at 250,000 + at that point.  Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn also attended the event.  Jim DeMint, Mike Pense and Marsha Blackburn were among the speakers at the event.

Simultaneously there were and are presently still rallies being held all over America today: Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, California etc etc which follows weeks of rallies along a 7000 mile route travelled by Tea Party Express from Sacramento California to Washington D.C. today.

When Robert Gibbs was asked why the White House had no representation or comments on this event in Washington D.C. he responded with, “I don’t even know who these people are.”  Don’t know who these people are??  They are millions or Americans all over the United States and the event has been announced for months (no doubt permits had to be acquired).

Obama even skipped town for another staged healthcare event in Minnesota.

You know something is happening when the powers that try this hard to ignore you!!!

Radio and TV Host Glenn Beck was asked to MC and Host the event, but decided he could do a better job by covering it from the Fox Studios in New York, which he did from 1PM to 3PM ET.

Other notables attending outlying tea parties included Judge Andrew Napolitano and Andrew Breitbart.

9/12 Coverage

Anti-Tax Tea Party… Or Is It More?

Turn this thing around

How did we get here?

Glenn threw out the gauntlet for change today…

  • He asked 56 men & women to step up and be the new Founding Fathers (Primarily Congressmen & Senators)
  • He asked all Americans to stop looking at things as Dems and Republicans… but instead as Americans
  • He asked us all to focus on the corruption in the system… because it is the lynch pin to everything else.
  • He asked all Americans to be watch dogs for corruption.
  • He asked Americans to pressure Washington to stop the passing for anymore bills and legislation until the corruption is cleaned up.
  • And finally he asked everyone who agrees with him or is even curious to watch or tape and watch his programs for the next couple of weeks, as well as listening to his  daily syndicated radio show to put this all into motion~

Tea Party Express Hits Washington for the 9/12 March on D.C. - Obama Skips Town as Dems Plan to Claim Event is a Failure~

Update: In their typical under-handed manner, Nancy Pelosi and liberal Dems are trying to undermine the Effectiveness of the 9/12 March on Washington: Tea Party Rally Sparks Dispute Over Potential Turnout

Tea Party Rally Sparks Dispute Over Potential Turnout

A top aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned fellow Democrats in a memo obtained by FOXNews.com that up to 2 million people may attend the march on Washington. But conservatives believe Democrats are playing an expectations game to claim the event was a failure.

Tens of thousands of conservative activists are preparing to descend on the nation's capital Saturday (today) for a rowdy tea-party style protest, event planners say. About 30,000 have signed up on the event's website to attend the march and rally and oppose what they call excessive government spending, says Adam Brandon, spokesman for FreedomWorks, a group that supports lower taxes and less government. Former House majority leader, Republican Dick Armey, is the organization's chairman. More may show, Brandon says, and at least 450 tour buses will bring protesters from around the country.

Both the U.S. Capitol Police and the U.S. Park Police say they're boosting staffing for the event. They decline to provide crowd estimates.

"We're expecting a pretty big crowd," says Sgt. David Schlosser, U.S. Park Police spokesman, adding that he believes the event will be comparable to "the majority of our First Amendment activities, which we do on a routine basis."

FreedomWorks planned the rally, but many groups are participating, including the National Taxpayers Union and Tea Party Patriots. The event has caught fire online via e-mail campaigns and on social networking sites such as Facebook.

Protesters' concerns include health care, the economic stimulus, car company bailouts and the climate change bill, says Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks.

"People are telling me two things: 'I've never done this before,' and 'I've never even talked to my congressman, but I have to show up because our government is out of control,' " Kibbe says.

Ilyse Hogue, spokeswoman for the liberal network MoveOn.org, calls the protesters "an extremely vocal minority" who resort to shouting people down instead of engaging in reasonable debate.

"They are completely out of step with where the majority of people in this country want to go," she adds. "Instead of shouting down elected representatives and their fellow citizens who have ideas about how to move forward, they should probably get in the discussion about what we can do to solve the health care crisis, the economic crisis and the energy crisis."

Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck as well as Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteran have encouraged people to participate. Glenn will broadcast live Saturday from Washington. Mark Williams, another conservative talk show host, is riding the Tea Party Express, a 34-city, 7,000-mile bus tour that began in Sacramento on Aug. 28 and ends in the capital Saturday.

When the Tea Party Patriots held their first nationwide rally in February, organizers said 30,000 people showed. Over the summer, the movement gained momentum with the town hall health care meetings that were punctuated by passionate outbursts over what protesters call "Obama care."

Saturday's rally will mark another step in the movement's growth, Brandon says. "This will be the largest gathering of fiscal conservatives that we've ever had in the nation's capital," he says.

(President Obama again insults fiscally conservative and moderate average Americans by being out of town for a small organized Healthcare Townhall in Minnesota today.) After reading about the Dems latest attempt to foil the 9/12 March on Washington, Obama’s absence looks more and more like a planned cowardly retreat… so he can say I wasn’t here, if things get roughv due to Dems dirty tricks.

It is amazing how the Dems don’t remember that when you try to undermine true protest it only makes the participants stronger, madder and more determined. Funny how the Dems have forgotten that once upon a time they were the people who protested for the ‘rights of the people’ and civil liberties. Now they have become the party of the Gestapo tactics!?! How things change!

Looking for a leader, Tea Partiers issue invite to Palin

EL PASO, Texas (CNN) — As the Tea Party Express makes its way across the country, Sarah Palin has emerged as a favorite daughter of the movement, and organizers have invited her to join the tour — or at least come to the final stop in the nation's capital.

The bus is scheduled to end its nationwide journey in Washington on Saturday, September 12.

"We've been in touch with her people, letting her know the response that we've gotten. She's very suportive of the movement," says Joe Wierzbicki, one of the organizers traveling on the Tea Party Express.

So far, no politician has emerged as a leader of the Tea Party movement – and the question of just who might eventually take up the mantle is a hot topic on the bus. Nobody may be better positioned than Palin — but organizers, some of the most motivated members of the conservative base, still say she'll need to earn that title.

"Right now there's a handful of people who strike a chord with the tea party base, and she is certainly one of those people," says Wierzbicki. "Whether or not she emerges as one of those leaders, that's between her and the American people."

Sal Russo, another organizer of the Tea Party Express, launched his career in conservative politics working for Ronald Reagan's California gubernatorial campaign in 1966.

Russo thinks Palin might emerge as a leader of the Tea Party movement – but she'll have to earn that title first.

"I think it's a possibility," he says. "When the election was over in November, I think her support was a lot stronger than it is today. She's got to kind of get her act together, and develop a presence with the public that inspires some confidence.

"She could be the kind of person that becomes the leader of the Tea Party movement, but she hasn't done anything yet to assume that role."

At tea party protests, Palin's is the name heard most often amongst participants. In El Paso, Texas Wednesday, the crowd chanted "Sar-rah, Sar-rah." One hot item: "Draft Sarah Palin 2012″ t-shirts.

Tom and Susan Mendez came to the tea party in Albuquerque looking for a leader. They have two homes in foreclosure. Tom, a general contractor, is having trouble finding work.

"This movement needs direction," he told CNN. He said he fears the concerns of the tea partiers may not be heard in Washington.

"They're not getting the message from us, so they need to get the message from someone. Maybe Sarah Palin."

His wife Susan lit up at the mention of Palin's name. She voted for Ron Paul last year, and has a dream ticket in mind.

"Palin and Paul sound good to me," she said.

The real U.S. unemployment rate is 16 percent if persons who have dropped out of the labor pool and those working less than they would like are counted, a Federal Reserve official said Wednesday.

"If one considers the people who would like a job but have stopped looking -- so-called discouraged workers -- and those who are working fewer hours than they want, the unemployment rate would move from the official 9.4 percent to 16 percent," said Atlanta Fed chief Dennis Lockhart.

Do you believe the Obama administration when they say the economy is getting better? If so… why are we now doing Cash for Appliances?

Inhofe slams health reform

At a town hall meeting Wednesday Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) told Chickasha residents he does not need to read the 1,000 page health care reform bill, he will simply vote against it.

"I don't have to read it, or know what's in it. I'm going to oppose it anyways," he said.

Inhofe said public opinion and information provided by news media have helped him become a staunch non-supporter of the bill. He said he would prefer waiting until after mid-term elections in 2010 to enact reforms. He did not say nothing should be done. He simply feels that a topic as important as healthcare should not be rushed through the Senate or House of Representatives.

City Council Member Hank Ross agreed with Inhofe. Ross owns a medical care company in Chickasha. He said he does not believe the government would be efficient in providing care and would like to see reforms happen at a slower pace.

"I personally think Obama has over reached," Ross said. "I think we need to treat this with kid gloves and do it right."

Inhofe also spoke about the diminishing military budget and the closing of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center, but healthcare was the hot button subject.

Inhofe took the opportunity to blame Democrats for a bevy of issues. He lashed out at democrats for overtaking the government and spending billions of dollars on unpopular packages. He said government is becoming too big and overreaching its boundaries.

"People are not buying these concepts that are completely foreign to America," Inhofe said. "We're almost reaching a revolution in this country."

Many in the meeting agreed and were vocal about their disdain for the current climate in Washington.

"No more compromise," Chickasha resident Ed Hicks said. "We're losing our country."

Inhofe's town hall meeting was much like others happening during the Senate's recess. Except there was no dissent, just concerns about change and what is happening in Washington. Health care reform was the main topic of discussion, but some voiced their worries that the Cap and Trade bill would hurt local oil producers. Others were worried about their Second Amendment right and their ability to own and carry firearms.

Inhofe tried to squelch the concerns, but until Republicans take control of at least one branch of the government it will be an uphill battle. He said he will do anything he can to keep fighting and promote the wants and needs of his constituents when he returns to Washington next month.

All Aboard the Tea Party Express~

Healthcare Reform Foes Using Radical Alinsky's Tactics

Influential Chicago activist Saul Alinsky wrote the book on community organizing for the left.

Now in an ironic twist, opponents of President Barack Obama and the Democrats' healthcare reform plans are employing some of the very same tactics that Alinsky, who died in 1972, espoused in his work "Rules for Radicals."

As healthcare reform foes angrily confront lawmakers at town-hall meetings, The New York Times observed: "It is an irony of the current skirmishing about healthcare that those who could be considered Mr. Alinsky's sworn enemies — the groups, many industry sponsored, who are trying to shout down Congressional town hall meetings — have taken a page from his handbook on community organizing."

Among the Alinsky "trademarks" that the Times' Noam Cohen pointed to are "using spectacle to make up for lack of numbers," targeting an individual — in this case Obama — and "using ridicule to persuade the undecided."

As for complaints from Democrats about the reform opponents' sometimes belligerent tactics, Alinsky stated that "any effective means is automatically judged by the opposition as being unethical."

The Internet availability of many town-hall confrontations would have won approval from Alinsky, who urged activists to seek media attention — in particular by challenging public officials on camera.

The boisterous disruption of the meetings by reform foes also jibes with Alinsky's tactics. He advised organizers to "raise a din and clamor that will make the listener believe that your organization numbers many more than it does."

Among the many community organizers influenced by Alinsky, the most prominent today is — Barack Obama. He learned and taught Alinsky's methods for community organizing while working for the Developing Communities Project in Chicago.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 - HONOR IDEA

We have a little less than one month and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America.

THE PROGRAM:

On Friday, September 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends, and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds

So, here's what we need you to do .

(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation.

God Bless You and God Bless America!
