Obama Voters: Just how dumb are they?

GOPUSA:

It's really sad to see the state that this country is in. Millions of people drank the Barack Obama kool-aid and grabbed on to "hope and change" as if it were some kind of actual policy. Now, when the economy is a mess, and we see Obama's glaring deficiencies on the world stage, there are still people who will vote for him no matter what. Let's take a look at a few...

First, check out this outrageous video. The video is an interview with a number of people regarding the terrorist attacks in Libya which claimed the lives of four Americans. Many of the people in the video are not Obama supporters, but check out the ones who are!

Here's a sample:

-- "I give respect to those people in Libya who shot that diplomat because at least somebody -- there's somebody not -- murder, it isn't the way to go. But Libya has just stood up and said that, 'We're not gonna these drones in our country anymore attacking our kids.'"

-- My response is "who cares." He's one man (referring to murdered U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens).

Are these people for real? Unfortunately, yes! But it gets even worse. Howard Stern recently interviewed a number of Obama supporters. Here are some examples of their responses:

-- He got the medical thing goin. He got most of the job like he said he was. You know what I'm sayin'.

-- (Do you think he will eventually find and kill bin Laden?) Answer: He'll eventually do it.

-- (Do you think Obama made the right choice by choosing Paul Ryan as his vice president?) Yes.

-- (Do you think he picked Paul Ryan because he's African American or because he's qualified?) It could be a little bit of both.

These people vote! It's incredible. It's no wonder that Obama just throws out feel-good phrases, because that's all he needs to do. If people have no idea what's going on, maybe they should just stay at home and NOT vote!

Elitist controlled puppet and pop icon Madonna admits Obama is Muslim

Video: But then shills for him telling the crowd to vote for him...

“Madonna also said that if Obama wins, she will strip naked on stage, that will insure that Romney wins.” … said Greg Gutfeld I say, “Amen!!… Will someone tell her she is over 50… and good shape or not, nobody wants to see that!”

Of course… Now she is back-peddling, but maybe she is right?…

I didn't listen to Obama’s whole UN address to the General Assembly yesterday, but what I did hear (read) from what he said it explains what is going on at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., the Middle East and perhaps with Madonna?!?

Will Media Help Sell the New Obama American Flag?

There's a new American flag available on the Internet that has a picture of President Obama in the corner where the stars representing our fifty states normally reside.

Given how our media have assisted in selling Obama paraphernalia since Inauguration Day, one has to wonder what their position will be on the attractive keepsake pictured right.

As NewsBusters has chronicled, news outlets up until now haven't been shy about pushing product associated with the new president (larger picture of flag below the fold, h/t Atlas Shrugs):

  • The CBS "Early Show" promoted Obama dolls in April
  • NBC Universal's online store offers at least 29 Obama-related items for sale
  • The CBS "Early Show" addressed how Obama merchandise was tough to keep on the shelves when the first family vacationed on Martha's Vineyard over the summer.

With this in mind, why not push the new Obama American flag?

Makes you want to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance, doesn't it?

Exit question: should this be called an Obamican flag? Or just an Abomination of the Obama Nation?

Actually, there is something intrinsically creepy about this, especially if you have been connecting the dots!

Perhaps it would make him want to salute the flag though…?

If there is not a law against defacing our flag… there should be!!

During the Primaries:

This should have been our first clue…

Barack Hussein Obama refuses to salute US flag

I think that picture says it all. And, he refuses to wear the American Flag on his lapel. This was started by Patriotic Officials after 911 occurred. He does not deserve to be President, he nor his Wife love America. However, they have taken all the good that America has offered them. Including their elite education and the opportunity to be where they are today. And, then they dishonor their Country. Quoting Michelle, America is mean and this is the first time she has ever been proud to be an American. They chose to honor a hate filled man's rhetoric. He is certainly NOT 'a man of GOD'. Reverend should never be a prefix in front of this hate filled person. The vessel to Hell will surely overflow with false prophets and he will be at the helm.

Introducing 'Pocket Obama': Must-have Anthology of Obama Quotes

Photo of Noel Sheppard.

By Noel Sheppard
January 24, 2009 - 13:40 ET

Just in case you can't get through a day without some refreshing and uplifting words from the new president, the History Company has created the "Pocket Obama."

This is a tiny, pocket-sized book filled with "quotations borrowed from Barack Obama's speeches and writings."

According to its creators, "It is an unofficial requirement for every citizen to own, to read, and to carry this book at all times."

I kid you not.

As proudly described at the History Company's website (h/t NB reader John Pagonis):

Printed in a size that easily fits into pocket or purse, this book is an anthology of quotations borrowed from Barack Obama's speeches and writings. POCKET OBAMA serves as a reminder of the amazing power of oratory and the remarkable ability of this man to move people with his words. His superb and captivating oratory style has earned comparisons to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, and this historic collection presents words that catapulted his remarkable rise to the American Presidency. It is an unofficial requirement for every citizen to own, to read, and to carry this book at all times.

Includes themes of democracy, politics, war, terrorism, race, community, jurisprudence, faith, personal responsibility, national identity, and above all, his hoped-for vision of a new America. POCKET OBAMA is a portable, everyday primer for readers who want to examine the substance of his thought and reflect on the next great chapter in the American story.

Now, I know what you're thinking: this has got to be a hoax. Well, the History Company does indeed exist:

HISTORY COMPANY is a shopping destination like no other. It is a remarkable place where you can discover, enjoy, and find inspiration in the wonderful things that connect us to our past.

For over 10 years, we've offered an uncommon range of products that provide a brilliant glimpse of our uniquely American creativity and ingenuity, craftsmanship and style. In the process, we have been able to share the legacy of our roots in the form of fascinating, sometimes quirky gifts, for keeping or giving. At HISTORY COMPANY, the past becomes a present. Historian David Thalen wrote: "The challenge of history is to recover the past and introduce it to the present." That sums up the mission of HISTORY COMPANY.

For ten years they've been selling historical items like White House furnishings, models, and of course books. However, as the only thing Obama has done so far is get elected, it seems a tad premature to view his speeches and writings as historic, doesn't it?

After all, he could end up being a terrible president, right?

I guess the good folks at History Company aren't concerned about this, as the minimum purchase of "Pocket Obamas" is ten.

It seems they think people just can't get enough Obama.

I wonder if they're considering making Obama soap for those who can't do without The One even while they shower. Maybe a dashboard figurine, too, so that you can have him near you when you're driving.

Stay tuned.

*****Update: As NBer mvfreeman marvelously pointed out in the comments section...

This is eerily similar to Mao's Little Red Book.

http://en.wikipedia....

Among the most widely printed books in history, Quotations had an estimated 5 to 6.5 billion copies printed during Mao's attempt to transform Chinese society. The book's phenomenal popularity may be due to the fact that it was essentially an unofficial requirement for every Chinese citizen to own, to read, and to carry it at all times during the later half of Mao's rule, especially during the Cultural Revolution.

During the Cultural Revolution, studying the book was not only required in schools but was also a standard practice in the workplace as well. All units, in the industrial, commercial, agricultural, civil service, and military sectors, organized group sessions for the entire workforce to study the book during working hours. Quotes from Mao were either bold-faced or highlighted in red, and almost all writing, including scientific essays, had to quote Mao.

To defend against the theory that it would be counter-productive, it was argued that understanding Mao's quotes could definitely bring about enlightenment to the work unit, resulting in production improvement to offset the time lost.

Yikes. That IS scary!!!

More on "The black-white divide in Obama's popularity"

Black Voters A few commentators on the left are calling me a racist for my post, "The black-white divide in Obama's popularity."  I suppose if you haven't been called a racist by the usual suspects on the left, you haven't been writing for very long.  But to address their complaint:

The accusations of racism seem to come from a single sentence in the piece: "But if a new survey by the New York Times is accurate, the president and some of his policies are significantly less popular with white Americans than with black Americans, and his sky-high ratings among African-Americans make some of his positions appear a bit more popular overall than they actually are." I wrote my post because of the striking numbers in the New York Times poll.  Those numbers raise a question: What if a president were wildly popular with one group, and only middlingly popular with another group and yet was often portrayed as being hugely popular with the whole group?  It seems worthwhile to point that out that there are differences within the group -- something that is done all the time with political polls.  The president's job approval ratings are what they are -- the Times had him at 69 percent approval -- but the numbers inside the numbers are striking.

For example, according to the Times, 34 percent of white Americans believe the country is on the right track, while 70 percent of black Americans believe the country is on the right track.  Fifty-five percent of white Americans approve of President Obama's handling of the economy, while 91 percent of black Americans do.  And black Americans, who as a group have a higher unemployment rate than white Americans, have a more positive view of the economy than whites: 27 percent of blacks say the economy is "very good" or "fairly good," while just 10 percent of whites call the economy "fairly good" (and none say it is "very good").

Perhaps some people find those numbers entirely uninteresting, but I think it is entirely reasonable to point them out. It is also entirely reasonable to point out that a poll result can be shaped by an extremely high number in one component of the poll result.  It's the old joke:  Six people are in a bar.  They're all middle class; their average net worth is about $100,000.  Bill Gates walks in.  Seven people are in a bar; their average net worth is in the billions.  A wealthy group, right?  Internal numbers are revealing.

So I wrote that citing Obama's "sky-high ratings among African-Americans make some of his positions appear a bit more popular overall than they actually are." I thought the word "overall" conveyed the idea that there was a difference between the total job-approval number and the complexities of opinion of Obama on various issues.  Maybe "across-the-board" would have been better than "overall," but I doubt that would have kept a left-wing activist like Matthew Yglesias, or Andrew Sullivan, who has himself been accused of racism and, quite recently, anti-Semitism, from branding me a racist.  The numbers inside the Times poll are newsworthy, if the critics would take the time to read and analyze them.

**  Most white people do not see Obama as a black president (and after all he is half white and was raised by his white grandparents… so it really is a non-issue). In fact , I have not heard a single Caucasian, Asian or Hispanic American mention race when agreeing or disagreeing with President Obama’s policies… It is his policies that are the issues.  But for most Black Americans, they either agree with Obama’s policies or have chosen to ignore his policies because Obama is the first Black President, and they have chosen blind pride over issues… which is somewhat understandable.  What is not understandable or acceptable is the slobbering mainstream media or the pandering media companies hoping to get rewards for their parent companies.  M~

OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL
100 days in office, coronated Messiah
Arms outstretched, he wears crown of thorns on his brow

"The Truth" by Michael D'Antuono

On his 100th day in office, President Obama will be "crowned" in messianic imagery at New York City's Union Square.

Artist Michael D'Antuono's painting "The Truth" – featuring Obama with his arms outstretched and wearing a crown of thorns upon his head – will be unveiled on April 29 at the Square's South Plaza.

According to a statement released about the portrait,"The 30" x 54" acrylic painting on canvas depicts President Obama appearing much like Jesus Christ on the Cross: atop his head, a crown of thorns; behind him, the dark veil being lifted (or lowered) on the Presidential Seal. But is he revealing or concealing, and is he being crucified or glorified?"

Even the title of the piece, "The Truth," suggests a play on biblical themes, as Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Get "The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama's War on American Values" and learn about the looming hostile attack on Judeo-Christian values and freedoms Americans hold dear

"More than a presidential portrait," writes D'Antuono on a website touting the painting, "'The Truth' is a politically, religiously and socially-charged statement on our nation's current political climate and deep partisan divide that is sure to create a dialogue."

Like others in the news who have depicted Obama in Christ-like imagery, D'Antuono insists he isn't claiming the man is Messiah, but only inviting "individual interpretations."

"'The Truth,' like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder," claims the exhibit's press release.

D'Antuono even invites the public to email him with reactions to the piece, answering his posed question, "What's your truth?"

As WND has reported, D'Antuono follows others who have cast Obama in messianic imagery.

Clark's Obama sculpture, riding a donkey at the Iowa Capitol

In January, artist Matthew J. Clark paraded a sculpture of Obama riding a donkey and preceded by waving palm fronds, reminiscent of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem in the 21st chapter of Matthew as foretold by the prophet Zechariah: "Behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass."

Like D'Antuono, Clark was also unclear about whether his piece was proclaiming Obama to be the Christ or making some social commentary. Clark's website described the sculpture in vague terms:

"This project was inspired by my thoughts about 'icons' and religious symbols and whether they represent truth or merely represent," Clark's website reads. "The sculpture poses a question that relates to social conventions, metaphysics, and the collective response of society in reaction to fearful and uncertain times, but doesn't impose an answer. For me, it has much more to do with the general public as followers than any leader granted power."

Others, such as Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, have been far clearer in their nearly religious adoration of Obama. As WND reported, Farrakhan declared last year that when Obama talks, "the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

Addressing a large crowd behind a podium with a Nation of Islam Saviour's Day 2008 sign, Farrakhan proclaimed, "You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about. That's a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

Farrakhan pointed out that the man Nation of Islam followers refer to as "the Savior," Fard Muhammad, had a black father and a white mother, just as Obama did.

"A black man with a white mother became a savior to us," he said. "A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall."

WND previously reported a website called "Is Barack Obama the Messiah?" capturing the wave of euphoria that followed the Democratic senator's remarkable rise.

The site is topped by an Obama quote strategically ripped from a Jan. 7 speech at Dartmouth College just before the New Hampshire Primary in which he told students, "… a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote" for Obama.

WND also reported on near-religious experiences surrounding Obama on the campaign trail, as supporters who came to hear him speak on several occasions fainted in the middle of the candidate's speeches. As WND reported, some compared the fainting to fanatical swooning in the midst of a mesmerizing preacher; others, like radio host Michael Medved, thought the collapses were staged moments; and still others believed it was simply a matter of people standing in the crowds too long and growing dehydrated.

P.J. Gladnick of NewsBusters, in an article about D'Antuono's painting on the eve of the Obama administration's 100-day-mark, notes that the messianic parallels begun early in the presidential campaign don't seem to be stopping:

"The artist quite clearly portrays Obama as a latter day Christ-like figure, considering the outstretched arms and the crown of thorns. Obama worship, complete with halo images, has been noted before," writes Gladnick, "but it was nothing compared to current expressions in awe of 'The One' as we approach his hundredth day in office on Wednesday."

Before We Carve Barack Obama's Face on Mt. Rushmore

In the entire history of our country, I'm not sure there has ever been a presidential honeymoon period as tender and loving as the one that Barack Obama is experiencing today.

In Perry County, Alabama they have already voted to create a paid holiday called "Barack Obama Day." That's an honor not bestowed on "lesser Presidents" like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and Teddy Roosevelt -- whose accomplishments, though great, surely will not eclipse those of "President Government" after his time in office. But, that's just a county holiday. Topeka activist Sonny Scroggins, with the support of the NAACP, is actually working on a national holiday for Obama.

Given the way that our mainstream media is fawning over Barack Obama, we shouldn't expect much resistance to the idea of creating a holiday to honor a man whose only real accomplishment so far is winning elections.

For example, MSNBC anchor Alex Witt was so taken with Obama that she was shocked that the mere fact that he was elected didn't end terrorism worldwide,

..."There are many who suggested that with the outgoing Bush administration and the incoming Obama administration there would be something of a lull in terrorism attacks. There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought -- at least hoped -- would be dampered down."

Then there's Chris Matthews who said it is his "job" to make "this new presidency work," a sentiment that seems to be widely shared in the media, even if most of them aren't foolish enough to share that view of their "job description" with their audience.

That's part of the reason why Obama's hard core supporters, which would include most members of the mainstream media, haven't had much to say about the fact that he has already started rapidly backing off his campaign promises on everything from the windfall profits tax to the Bush tax cuts, to a rapid withdrawal from Iraq. Of course, many of Obama's supporters were so ignorant of what he stands for that they probably have no idea he's breaking his promises in the first place.

Heck, the Presidential honeymoon has gotten so gushy that even a lot of conservatives have been writing mash notes to Obama of late because some of his cabinet picks aren't to the left of Michael Moore. Of course, the real question about his cabinet at this point is what's Dennis Kucinich doing these days? After all, since Obama seems to be trying to bring everybody who ran against him into his administration, he might as well create a Department of Peace for Kucinich to run, put Chris Dodd in charge of HUD, and hire John Edwards to be Bill Clinton's wingman at sorority parties. Speaking of the Clintons, with all the Clinton staffers Obama is hiring, you have to wonder how many of these people will ultimately be loyal to Hopey McChange and how many of them will secretly support Slick Willie and the Wicked Witch of New York? The first time something goes wrong overseas and either the Secretary of State or the President has to take the blame, the leaks will tell you where the staffers' loyalties really lie.

But, that brings us back to the crux of the matter: Barack Obama hasn't actually started governing yet. We have a rookie senator who's never made a tough decision in his adult life getting ready to enter the White House in what may be the toughest time to lead the country since Jimmy Carter was wrapping the country around a telephone poll.

The economy is now officially in the toilet and is likely to remain so for at least a year or two -- and the bailouts? They've just started and they're already unpopular. How is that corporate welfare on steroids going to look as more and more companies come to Congress with their begging bowls? How about when we're running trillion dollar deficits? What happens after the unemployment rate cracks 8%, large numbers of Americans are really worried about paying their bills, and they're reading about the latest round of hand-outs to companies? How can Obama possibly fulfill his campaign promises, many of which are staggeringly expensive, when the country is in a recession and the government is running record deficits? It's not a pretty picture.

We're also still in the midst of a global war on terror. In Iraq we're winning, but Obama has to finish the job or be "the President who lost the war." In Afghanistan, things aren't going as well, but Obama has promised to get us back on the right track. Plus, we can't forget that Al-Qaeda is looking to hit the homeland, Iran getting perilously close to a nuclear weapon, our ongoing negotiations to disarm North Korea -- and Obama's squawking, bratty liberal base that will demand we forego necessary security measures, get out of Iraq and Afghanistan ASAP, and oppose military action against foes of the United States -- while demanding we send the troops to places where no American interests are at stake.

Speaking of Obama's base, they may be quiet now, but they certainly will not remain so. They're looking at the size of the Democratic majority in Congress and expecting Obama to dramatically tilt the country to the left. Woe be unto him if he doesn't meet those expectations. Meanwhile, the Democrats who have to run in red states or districts will urge Obama to remain in the center, lest the party take a beating in 2010. Then there are the competing Democratic interest groups and the people who projected their own hopes and dreams onto Obama and now expect him to pay up. Remember the Obama supporter who famously said she was backing him because,

"I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, If I help him, he's gonna help me."

That's the problem with promising to be all things to all people in order to get elected: if you actually win that way, they expect you to pay up.

On January 20, 2009 -- Barack Obama is going to face an extraordinarily difficult situation that would test the most capable of Presidents. It's not quite a "I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy" spot, but it's going to be tougher than a Waffle House steak, particularly so for Obama because you can't vote "present" in the White House.

So, before we carve Barack Obama's face right there on Mt. Rushmore beside of Abe Lincoln, perhaps we should wait to see if he's as good at tackling this country's very real problems as he is at raising money, reading speeches off a teleprompter, and chucking his former friends and allies under the bus.

It appears that we are putting the cart before the Obama Horse Runs!

Obama, A Cult, Or A Candidate?

Click Here, posted by Thomas Lifson at American Thinker, is video of young people in uniform praising Barack Obama, and explaining how they were inspired by him.  Some of it, in another context, would actually be heartening -- if Barack can encourage young men to take responsibility for their lives and families, I'm all for it.

But what makes it more than a little creepy is the chant of "Alpha and Omega" that proceeds the recitation.  We're talking about a politician here, not God -- and a political platform, not a religious creed.

It seems that these young people haven't grasped the distinction.  Check it out.
