Instant analysis of last night’s debate has online readers declaring it was John McCain’s best showing.
“A clear smackdown for McCain,” said a bostonherald.com reader.
It comes in the nick of time as Barack Obama appears to be closing in on the 270 Electoral College votes he needs to defeat McCain, according to CNN. But it’s all still poll prognosticating. Voters rule Nov. 4.
The numbers:
The Drudge Report has McCain winning the debate 74-25 percent.
In Colorado, Obama is up 51-47 over McCain, according to a CNN/Time poll.
In Florida, it’s 51-46 favoring Obama, with registered voters backing the Democrat by up to 8 points, the same poll states.
In Missouri, the race is tight with McCain up 49-48 percent, the CNN/Time poll states.
The national presidential poll snapshot from Real Clear Politics has Obama up by 7.3 percentage points.
