Monday is National Empty Chair Day!

Tammy Bruce:

(Via LegalInsurrection.com, created by A.F. Branco)

Yes, Monday is Labor Day, but now, courtesy of Clint Eastwood (and the Dumb Bastard in the White House), it’s also National Empty Chair Day!

Oh, I know, every day is Empty Chair Day for Obama and now we can salute the fact that we haven’t had a president for the past 4 years, we’ve had a Golfer-Divider-Amateur-in-Chief.

This is a special day where we can all participate! Here’s the plan: Set up your own empty chair, take a pic and send it in. Also, if possible, put an Empty Chair outside to commemorate the day. Post a link to your pic in Comments and we’ll post them in this main posting, or Tweet your pic using #tbrs and the official National Empty Chair Day hashtag #EmptyChairDay and we’ll get that posted here, too. Over at Legal Insurrection, they’ve already started! Click here for examples of what their readers have started to send in! You can tell there’s all sorts of things you can do to the Empty Chair to make a statement and make it your own :)

In the meantime, in honor of Clint Eastwood’s brilliance and to illustrate the absent, careless “president” we’ve endured for the past 4 years, I’ll be posting my own Empty Chair creation tomorrow. I hope you’ll join me and everyone else around the interwebtubes. I can’t wait to see what TAMs create!

BECK GOES GLOBAL, MEETS WITH CATHOLIC CLERGY & INTERNATIONAL TEA PARTY LEADERS IN ROME

For those who watch GBTV, you know that Beck was off for a few days on assignment.

The political discourse has been dominated by the religious liberty debate that continues to intensify between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration – an issue that Glenn Beck has tackled quite frequently on his radio and television programs. This weekend, The Blaze has confirmed that Beck flew from Miami to Rome, where he had meetings with prominent Catholic Church leaders. In addition to holding discussions with them about important religious freedom issues, Beck also met with individuals from various countries to discuss the creation of an international Tea Party movement.

During his dialogue with Cardinals, Monsignors, Archbishops and other Catholic leaders, the popular host pledged support for the church, while also discussing ways in which members of various faith communities can join in solidarity against secular attacks against religion. As evidenced through his work, Beck has long encouraged people of all faiths to stand together — distinct and separate in their beliefs — but united in their support of everyone to practice those ideals without persecution.

Additionally, Beck met with Tea Party leaders from Rome, Serbia, Milan, Germany, Austria, and London, among other localities, to begin discussing an international coalition that is being headed by FreedomWorks. Reflecting the ideals held by peace and freedom proponents in America, the persons involved discussed their goals for an integrated global effort to champion Tea Party ideals.

Be sure to listen to his radio show on Monday, as Beck will be sharing all of the details surrounding his meetings with church leaders and international Tea Party groups, while also delving into his vision for a multi-faith coalition that stands in support of religious liberty. Additionally, throughout the upcoming week, The Blaze will provide ongoing information and follow-up reports that further explain what’s to come.

These meetings with Catholic leaders are the latest in a series of discussions that Beck has had with numerous faith leaders, including evangelical pastors and rabbis, among others. His efforts to connect with these theologically diverse individuals reflect his desire to bring adherents from various faith traditions together to support religious liberty here in America and abroad.

“We are not battling for the next election, we’re battling for the very soul of each of us and of our nation,” he recently proclaimed on GBTV.

Religious liberty is becoming an issue of great importance across the globe, as Christians, Jews, Muslims and other faith traditions grapple with an increasingly hostile clash with the atheist and “freethinking” community. Additionally, governmental policies are, in many ways, beginning to mirror secularist ideals that tend, in the views of many religious peoples and institutions, to threaten spiritual expression.

The examples are limitless. Earlier this month, England’s high court found prayer before local council meetings to be unlawful, and last week Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, a Muslim who is also a British Cabinet member, maintained that Europe is being threatened by militant secularism. Considering New York City churches’ battle for the right to rent public school buildings, incessant attacks on Ten Commandment displays, and secularists’ never-ending efforts to force churches to violate their consciences, Beck’s coalition is coming at an appropriate time.

In addition to holding these meetings, Beck went to Greece in preparation for a special project he will soon be announcing. Tune in to GlennBeck.com, GBTV and The Blaze for more on these important announcements.

Dead Movement Walking: Pelosi Tries to Distance Herself and Dems from #Occupy Movement

Of course, when the #Occupy movement first arose, Pelosi and and other members of the Leftist Elite gushed with enthusiasm about the protests:

“I support the message to the establishment, whether it’s Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest, that change has to happen,” said Pelosi in an exclusive interview with ABC News “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour. “We cannot continue in a way this is not relevant to their lives.”

As for the Tea Party, few in Washington and none in the power elite supported them.  They are the grassroots movement and they are still alive!

Patriots of the Year – 2011

clip_image002

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton  -  The NoisyRoom

The Tea Party once again was shunned by major media in 2011. But they were there punching away and fighting for America under many names with millions of patriots striving to save our country and return to Constitutional principles. In virtually every city across the United States, Tea Party members got involved in local and national politics and raised their voices in unison to cry for smaller government, less debt and lower taxes.

And at the forefront were unsung fighters like Andrea Shea King of The Radio Patriot and her producer Dave Logan of ThirdWaveDave fame. Andrea and Dave are the heart and soul of the Tea Party and have fought tirelessly this last year through The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama to further the goals of everyone’s dream – to get the Marxist-in-Chief out of the White House. Others, such as Michael Johns, also toured and spoke at rallies, working his fanny off trying to revive the Republic. Trevor Loudon traveled to the US on his own dime and spent months speaking at Tea Party rallies out of love for a country that is not his own. (By the way, did I mention New Zealand rocks?) We owe each and every person in the Tea Party a huge debt of gratitude – a few who are willing to risk it all, so that many may be free.

But alas, media propagandist Time, did not see it that way. Instead they chose aMarxist/terrorist, er, Protester as Person of the Year. In 2010, which was unwaveringly the year of the Tea Party, they didn’t mention Tea Partiers at all, even though millions protested in peace with no arrests, violence or garbage left behind. The media labeled them radicals and terrorists, which is the epitome of irony considering what the Occupiers actually are and stand for. Same for 2011 for the Tea Party – crickets. But in a move that Joseph Goebbels would have been proud of, the Occupiers grace Time’s cover this year.

clip_image004

But the joke is on Time and the rest of the MSM that are in the tank for Obama and the Progressives on both sides of the aisle. The Tea Party is growing stronger day by day even without face time. Americans recognize the US is in deep, deep doodoo and are fed up with politicians in general.

Instead they are turning towards candidates with American values such as Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum. Voters have put Tea Party candidates in the House and Senate and that trend will only continue. The Left took a beating in 2010, but baby, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Come 2012, there’s gonna be an ass whooping of epic proportions. And guess what? That includes the RINOs on the right. Progressives on both sides of the aisle are about to have their collective bottoms spanked big time by the voters. Americans are not dumb and they’ve just about had enough. Don’t underestimate the Tea Party – they are the Progressive’s worst nightmare.

clip_image006

So, we welcome 2012 as the ‘Year of Freedom Restored in America!’ It is fitting that January is ‘Hot Tea Month.’ And honey, the Tea Party is just getting warmed up. We are taking our country back and cleaning house. We are researching and exposing all those naughty Progressives who have been so instrumental in trying to bring this great nation to her knees.

The Tea Party fought a rough and tough battle in 2011. But they’ll win the war for the Republic in 2012 if they stick to their guns and chase the corrupt bastards out of office. Whether with votes or tar and feathers, it’s going to be one hell of a ride and I would not miss it for the world.

What the Tea Party Movement is and Is Not…

4000 at Tea Party - ChicagoGrassroots Tea Party Movement Out in Force in Chicago

A very interesting story about how the New York Times is finally giving tea party groups media coverage. What is so interesting is they are painting all tea party goers as right wing fanatics, calling for sedition, armed conflict and such.

While the the majority of tea party goers are concerned Americans try to effect representative government. The attempt by the left wing media now to demonize the movement is an affront to every one who is not a radical right wing nut. So being a tea party member I implore all members to stick to the issues and advise all members to do the same. We do not want to be demonized by the left wing media and its supporters (George Soros) who will do everything to discredit the movement.

This is from an earlier post on one of AARP’s Political Blogs by a well-researched, very enlightened blogger…

It is surprising how many political commentators on radio and TV, in newspapers and magazines, talk show hosts and members of both major political parties have a very large misunderstanding of what the Tea Party Movement is all about. They make an invalidate assumption, and then rant and rave believing that their assumption is actual fact.

Let me attempt to clarify.

WHAT THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT IS NOT.

* It is not an attack on Obama. He just happened to be the President in power, when the dam burst.

* It is not an attack against the Democratic Party.

* It is not a movement in support of the Republican party.

WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT?

* It is a protest against the way government is run, whether the Republicans are in power, or the Democrats are in power. It is a protest against government being run either from the extreme right or the extreme left.

The members of the Tea Party movement did not all come from one Political Party. The members are made up, in equal parts, of Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and Independents.

WHAT THE MEMBERS OF THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT ARE OPPOSED TO.

* Against politicians whose main role in life is getting elected and reelected.

* Against politicians ignoring the wishes of their constituents and voting per the instruction of party leaders.

* Against politicians who vote for bills, without reading them

* Against SWEET HEART deals with lobbyists, unions, big business, and major contributors*

* Against politicians who accept “favors”, meals, event tickets, travel, lodging, meals, etc from lobbyists.

* Against politicians who feel that it beneath them to respond to their constituent’s request, meetings, phone calls, etc.

* Against mortgaging the financial future of our children and grandchildren

* Against closed door deals

* Against earmarks (pork)

* Against the lack of transparency on proposed legislation.

* Against politicians who take expensive junkets, at taxpayer expense, for no apparent justifiable reason

* Against politicians who are paid $ 175,000 per year, plus an un taxable $93,000, petty cash fund, to only work 3 days a week when Congress is in session, but who seldom bother to make an appearance during those three days.

* Against political payoffs to politicians in order to “buy their vote"

*· Against politicians who make speeches running down and apologizing for our country

* Against politicians who have a large staff, paid for by tax payer funds, whose jobs are totally dependent upon satisfying the desires of the elected official they work for, rather than their constituents

* Against politicians who feel they they know better than we do regarding how we should run our lives

* Other

WHAT THE MEMBERS OF THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT ARE FOR

* Politicians who believe that our government should be a government of the people, by the people and for the

* Politicians who are concerned with that which is best for the country, rather than what’s best for their political future.

* Politicians who believe and follow the principles laid down in The Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution.

* Fiscal responsibility – Spending only the money available and not constantly borrowing against the future

* Eliminating high cost “perks” that are only available to elected officials

* Establishing a special fund for FICA contributions and not throwing Social Security money into the general fund, which Congress immediately spends

* Elimination of earmarks – pork

* Transparency of all proposed legislation – require that the complete text of all proposed legislation be posted on the Internet for a minimum of 72 hours prior to allowing that legislation to be voted upon.

* Other, but you get the idea

The New York Times article typical of what the left does best... demonize everyone who opposes them. Alinsky followers every last one, including Hillary Clinton!!

Remember their slogan, the end justifies any means!!

If you had a choice (and you may) would you vote for this remarkable person ...

Hillary941-1.jpg When it comes to 2012, you guys need to be more worried about Hillary and less worried about Sarah. picture by jvisentine

TPP Statement on Tea Party Political Party – Movement Says NO on Third Party Ambitions

Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots,

There is much talk of the formation of a third political party based on the tea party movement.

Tea Party Patriots is issuing this statement in order to make it clear that we are not associated with any attempts to form a third party. Additionally, we believe that such efforts are unproductive and unwise at this time. The history of third party movements in this country is one of division and defeat. We believe that it is instead time for all Americans to rise up and demand appropriate reform within their own parties. The mechanisms exist for
citizens to participate in their parties, and to drive their parties in the right direction.

The Tea Party Patriots encourage all citizens to get involved in the party process, and to reshape their parties into something in which they may once again believe. This country does not belong to any one party, nor does it belong to the career politicians. This country belongs to the citizens. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "We have given you a republic madam, if you can keep it." The founders knew that it would be our sacred obligation as
citizens to get involved, and to work hard to hold on to this great
nation. We have much work to do, and future generations will look back in judgment. We hope you will join us in preserving the republic.

You are the heart and soul of the Tea Party Movement. Thank you for promoting the causes of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets with us!

Nancy Pelosi Protest – Irvine Airport Hilton – Dec 4th (Part 1)

'Patriots Against Pelosi' -- Hundreds Protest House Speaker at Orange County Tea Party!

Well, good thing I'm not on deadline! But it's worth the wait!
As promised, here's my report on today's anti-PelosiCare protest at the Irvine Hilton/Orange County Airport. The background information is at my earlier entry, "Orange County Tea Party Patriots to Protest Nancy Pelosi at Democrats' 15th Annual Harry S. Truman Awards Dinner!"

Okay, here's the scene along MacArthur Boulevard when I arrived a little after 4:00pm. Just a few tea partiers are lined up along the east side of the street, and I'm facing north. That first sign on the right captures the spirit of the day:

You can see the geography of the tea party at the protest map event organizers sent me. Early in the evening, the main protest is taking place at the little red-lined elbow at left -- at the intersection of MacArthur and Douglas. Later on, some of the more intense demonstrations took place at the driveway entrance to the hotel parking lot, just left of the service entrance marked below. Lots of police units were on hand:

I walked over by the hotel driveway and Planned Parenthood activists were setting up. I'll have more on these folks below. Just hidden behind the folks with the "Health Care Reform Now" sign is Pauline Merry, the former provost of the Pacific Coast Campus at my school, Long Beach City College. Pauline retired in 2007. She asked me, "What are you doing here"? I pointed back over to MacArthur and said, "I'm with the tea partiers." And she looked at me and said, "You're with them? Why?" And I told her: "I'm not happy with the Democrats." She said, well you're in political science, right? That explains it." Actually, President Hussein "Infanticide" Obama and his PelosiCare monstrosity explain it, but I said my farewells, in any case:

That's Pauline here, holding that "Stupak Never!" sign:

Okay, back over at the tea party section. I said hello to these two lovely activists. They were boasting awesome signs, reversible for added impact:

I stopped to say hello to a tea party mom:

Here's the scene walking back over to MacArthur Boulevard. A few more people were setting up:

Some long-time readers might recall this gentleman, who also hoisted a big-flag protest sign at the Adam Schiff town hall in August:

A couple of more lovelies, featuring the AARP sign on the left (the American Association of Repulsive Politics).

Walking back over to the intersection, more lovelies, even more excited to have their picture taken. Notice that sign on the left: "Obama-Care CAIR" -- for the unindicted terrorist co-conspirator, the Council on American-Islamic Relations:

This is my old friend Michael Fell. I saw him again for the first time in years at the Westwood 9-12 Tea Party West in September:

You can see the crowd's filling out by now. I counted 225 people before sundown, plus another 50 of the paid SEIU PurpleShirts and leftisit sympathizers:

Walking back over to the driveway, I had to post the obligatory SEIU open-borders demonstration picture:

A purple-shirt janitor amigo is here -- JUSTICIA!:

Here's our big-flag patriot speaking with the Planned Parenthood activists. My good friend Megan Barth suggested I get a picture -- too good to pass up, you know? -- of this PREGNANT PRO-ABORTION ACTIVIST protesting the Stupak amendment. Something just doesn't compute there, you think?:

Checking back with the tea partiers, I had to chase this guy down the sidewalk to get a picture. He was cruising up and down with that bullhorn. My bet is this guy's a LaRouchie (the other side of his sign was an Obama-Nazi poster, not my favorite). He didn't seem to be with the grassroots folks I've been highlighting, and there were more extreme-o types on the south side of Douglas street, including some 9/11 truthers. I didn't take any more photos of them:

At the video, provided by W.C. Varones, you can hear the big chanting along the front driveway when protesters started getting really fired up:

Although the protest was in high gear, I was cruising around to see if I could find Nancy Pelosi inside the hotel. I heard mixed reports on her arrival, and never did see her pull up. Here's the scene in the hotel bar/lobby area. Everyone had to check in to receive nametags, so it's not like I could snake into the main hall to take pictures:

I'm borrowing this shot below from the Orange County Register's report, "House speaker Pelosi attracts fans and foes." Be sure to check out the huge photo-slideshow at the article:

Walking out to my car (which was up MacArthur past the next hotel), I saw one more sign:

It will make us all sick, broke and short a lot more freedoms!! Please Stand Up America~

As I arrived about a half hour before the official start, there were already about 100 protesters around the perimeter of the hotel.

Eventually, there were around 200 to 250 anti-Pelosi protesters, plus about 50 or more supporters of other causes including (the SEIU paid) purpleshirts, pro-ObamaCare, pro-abortion, anti-Stupak, and 9/11 truthers.

The Nancy boys (and girls)

I left around 5:30 as it was getting dark and Pelosi had either slipped in the back door unnoticed or was running late. I was among the earliest to leave, so somebody may have caught a glimpse of Her Highness.

Thanks to Temple of MUT for posting the early report and for attracting Instapundit's attention!
