If Dan Quayle, Sarah Palin, or George W. Bush had so flubbed royal protocol that the Queen of England politely ignored them, every major network would have played the clip on continuous loop and the late night comedians would belittle the rustic rubes for days.

Did you know Barack Obama did this very thing during his state dinner with Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign of Great Britain — that The One screwed up his toast to QE2? Thought not.

Obama weakly read a toast from notes sitting on his table. (Perhaps his TelePrompter could not clear customs?) As he wound up, he raised his glass — as the band began to play the royal anthem, “God Save the Queen.” (Older Americans and homeschoolers will know the tune as “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.”) No one is to toast during that time but instead to stand in respect. Obama does not do this for our national anthem, so he raised his glass — as the entire hall stood with their hands at their sides, waiting for the song to end. Then the Queen politely toasted back.

For some reason, he did not bow to the queen on this trip, according to Andrea Mitchell.

Black boxes for vehicles to be compulsory by next month

By next month, every driver in the U.S. will be required to have a black box in their vehicle.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will declare that all automobiles are required to contain the event data recorder - similar to those found in aircrafts - in order to monitor driving habits and  provide a snapshot of the final moment of impact if the car crashes.

The snapshot will be able to be viewed by law enforcement, insurance companies and automakers and the owner of the vehicle will not be able to turn it on or off.

Critics of the mandate see it as another Big Brother-style invasion of privacy by the government while others believe it is a way to keep tabs on drivers.

It will also make it easier for insurance companies to settle claims and have access to circumstances surrounding car crashes.

Obama May Challenge Indiana Law Defunding Planned Parenthood

Not content that its friends at Planned Parenthood are losing out on taxpayer funds in Indiana, the Obama administration is considering challenging the law, which the state is already enforcing.

Governor Mitch Daniels signed the law, which would cut off anywhere from $2 million to $3 million the Planned Parenthood abortion business receives in federal funds via the Indiana government through Medicaid.

Obama's Double-Dip Recession is on the Way

The experts at the National Bureau of Economic Research say the Great Recession ended in June 2009. After that, it looked for a brief period as if there might be a surge of economic growth as an oppressed private sector fought to break free of the malaise. It hasn’t happened, and the latest numbers are far from encouraging.
On Monday, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago released the monthly results for its broad measure of economic activity. The Chicago Fed national activity index tumbled from positive territory, a value of .32 in March, into negative territory, -.45, in April. The score is a weighted average of 85 measures of employment, consumption, sales and other factors that give a sense of where the economy is headed. In this case, production-related indicators that had been positive for nine consecutive months have stalled and are dragging down the figures. Likewise, inflationary pressures have begun to take a toll.

Stimulus: A Shovel-Empty Waste Of $787 Billion

On top of the other failures of President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus plan you can now add this: It didn’t even fulfill the simple promise of creating more highway jobs and improving roadways.

Shortly after getting the gargantuan program through Congress, Obama heralded the stimulus’ $28 billion in new highway money, calling it “the largest new investment in America’s infrastructure since President Eisenhower built the Interstate Highway System” and promising that it would “help states create a 21st-century infrastructure.”

Obama also said that the extra highway money would “create or save” 150,000 jobs by the end of 2010.

Well, the results are in.

A new study by economists Timothy Conley of the University of Western Ontario and Bill Dupor of Ohio State found that despite the influx of all that federal money, highway construction jobs actually plunged by nearly 70,000 between 2008 and 2010.

As the authors explain, many states simply took the free federal money and shifted their own highway funds (to meet other needs.) In fact, in some states, highway spending dropped, even with the added federal money.

‘Planned Parenthood’ Aids Pimp's Underage Sex Ring

This is disgusting, disturbing, and highly illegal. But since Planned Parenthood is involved, I'm not surprised in the least. Hopefully, America's justice system will not only get the felonious employees of Planned Parenthood the prison time they deserve, but that said prison time will serve as a deterrent to other Planned Parenthood employees from enabling, and advising, illegal sex slavery criminals, so as to help cover up the sex slavery of daughters and sisters of Americans and other people worldwide.

Planned Parenthood looks more and more like a criminal enterprise itself; they should be treated as such. Organized crime seems like an appropriate label...

Shocking undercover video emerged yesterday of a New Jersey Planned Parenthood manager coaching a fake pimp and prostitute on how to bypass reporting laws and suggesting how the couple could run their child prostitution ring. While Planned Parenthood initially defended itself (by saying it had reported the U.S. Attorney General), yesterday afternoon it said it would take appropriate action. By last night, we found out what that action would be: the group has fired the manager.

The manager, identified in the video as Amy Woodruff, advised the couple to lie about their young prostitutes‘ age and even explained how the girls could be used to entice customers if they couldn’t have sex.

“We were profoundly shocked when we viewed the videotape released [Tuesday] morning, which depicted an employee of one of our health centers behaving in a repugnant manner that is inconsistent with our standards of care and is completely unacceptable,” Phyllis Kinsler, executive director of Planned Parenthood of Central Jersey, said in a statement released at 10:20 p.m, NJ.com reports.

“We have a zero tolerance policy for this kind of behavior, and the employee in the video was immediately suspended from her duties [Tuesday] morning and was terminated [Tuesday] evening,” Kinsler said. “We are fully committed to delivering high-quality reproductive health care to the women of our communities, complying with all laws, and upholding the highest ethical standards.”

Still, NJ.com says Kinsler questioned the editing of the group behind the video, Live Action. In response to that criticism, the group has released the full, unedited footage of the undercover operation.
NJ.com says the NJ Attorney General Paula Dow asked the Division of Criminal Justice to investigate whether the manager should face legal action. “At first glance, I find these allegations to be very disturbing,” she said in a statement. Additionally, her spokesman said Gov. Chris Christie’s office as well as some legislators had referred the matter to her attention.

“New Jersey taxpayers and every state and federal elected official and law enforcement agency throughout this country should be outraged,” Marie Tasy of New Jersey Right to Life told NJ.com, adding that Planned Parenthood does not deserve taxpayer funding.

Last year, Christie cut state aid to 58 family-planning facilities across New Jersey.

Conservatives Show More Kids--and a Brighter Future

When the McCain and Palin families assembled together on stage at the conclusion of the Republican Convention in Minnesota, I felt profoundly encouraged about the future. There are seven McCain children, and five Palins—for a total of twelve offspring for the ticket. Among the Democrats, Senator Obama has two children, and Senator Biden has three – for a total of five. Meanwhile, in an interview scheduled for broadcast this Monday, Michelle Obama told TV host Ellen DeGeneres “I’m done” when asked if she wanted another child. “This campaign is that child,” she said. 

Of course, it’s possible that some of the McCain and Palin kids will find themselves influenced by friends or professors and abandon the conservative outlook of their parents – just as some of the Obama and Biden kids could shock their mothers and fathers with their own right turns. But studies show that the overwhelming majority of Americans (over 80%) replicate the political affiliation of the previous generation. This means that the population of conservatives (with their larger families) should grow more rapidly that the numbers of liberals (with their enthusiasm for Planned Parenthood and their substitution of campaigns for kids). Demographer Philip Longman has written about this phenomenon in Foreign Affairs and other publications. In other words, a more welcoming and protective attitude toward children and human life not only benefits conservatives with more fulfilling lives (as I fervently believes) but helps to secure a brighter political future. The crowded stage in St. Paul, compared to the less numerous Democratic display in Denver, may well provide a vision of things to come.
