The ObamaCare Document Stack Photo: Obamacare’s Regulations in One Giant Stack - 20,000 Pages Already

Any Question as to why we need to support the Paul Ryan Plan and Repeal or Defund ObamaCare?

Senator Mitch McConnell tweeted: #ObamaCare regulations - 828 pages in one day. Overall, there are nearly 20,000 pages – with many more to come… along with the photo of the document stack.

Yes, ObamaCare regulators added more than 800 -pages to an ever-growing document that will govern your healthcare. The bureaucrats’ work product now prints out to 20,000 pages — nearly eight times the length of the infamous original bill:

HotAir: That tower is already taller than Kobe Bryant, and much of the law hasn’t even gone into effect yet. According to the Government Accountability Office, Obamacare is projected to add $6.2 trillion to the nation’s long-term deficits, despite presidential assurances that it wouldn’t add a “single dime” to our red ink:

“This legislation is fully paid for, and will not add one single dime to our deficit.”

We’re also seeing more evidence that the healthcare law is killing jobs, as predicted by the Congressional Budget Office and Obamacare opponents alike:

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday released an edition of its so-called “beige book,” that said the 2010 healthcare law is being cited as a reason for layoffs and a slowdown in hiring. ”Employers in several Districts cited the unknown effects of the Affordable Care Act as reasons for planned layoffs and reluctance to hire more staff,” said the March 6 beige book, which examines economic conditions across various Federal Reserve districts across the country.

A former Obama adviser is now admitting that the law was never intended to be “a jobs program.” Funny, that’s not what Democrats told us while they were jamming it down our throats. I’ll leave you with Nancy Pelosi explaining how Obamacare is really all about creating millions of jobs and, er, reducing the deficit:

Tax Prof: ObamaCare Tax Increases Are Double Original Estimate:

The Joint Committee on Taxation recently released a 96 page report on the tax provisions associated with Affordable Care Act. The report describes the 21 tax increases included in ObamaCare, totaling $1.058 trillion – a steep increase from initial assessment, according to the Tax Prof Blog. The summer 2012 estimate is nearly twice the $569 billion estimate produced at the time of the passage of the law in March 2010.

Obama Admin Finalizes Rules: $1 Abortions in ObamaCare

Remember Nancy Pelosi: “Well, we have to pass the ‘ObamaCare’ Bill so you can find out what is in it.”

Well… for those who didn’t read the bill in advance, trusted Washington and doubted those who did read the bill… We are now finding out:

The Cost of ObamaCare Has Doubled… From What They Told Us

There are Rationing Boards (Death Panels…. A Mandate Committee) and people/seniors over 76 and special needs patients will get few major services. once ObamaCare takes affect.

And Yes… Abortion ‘Will’ not only be covered, but murder will be wholesaled at $1 for an abortion under ObamaCare.

And that is only the beginning of the ugly!!!  Guess Sarah Palin and those dang Conservatives were right after all…

Obama Admin Finalizes Rules: $1 Abortions in ObamaCare

It’s official. The concern pro-life organizations had about the ObamaCare legislation funding abortions has been confirmed, as the Obama administration has issued the final rules on abortion funding governing the controversial health care law.

Nestled within the “individual mandate” in the Obamacare act — that portion of the Act requiring every American to purchase government — approved insurance or pay a penalty — is an “abortion premium mandate.” This mandate requires all persons enrolled in insurance plans that include elective abortion coverage to pay a separate premium from their own pockets to fund abortion. As a result, many pro-life Americans will have to decide between a plan that violates their consciences by funding abortion, or a plan that may not meet their health needs.

The Department of Health and Human Services has issued a final rule regarding establishment of the state health care exchanges required under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

As a knowledgeable pro-life source on Capitol Hill informed LifeNews, as authorized by Obamacare, “The final rule provides for taxpayer funding of insurance coverage that includes elective abortion” and the change to longstanding law prohibiting virtually all direct taxpayer funding of abortions (the Hyde Amendment) is accomplished through an accounting arrangement described in the Affordable Care Act and reiterated in the final rule issued today.

“To comply with the accounting requirement, plans will collect a $1 abortion surcharge from each premium payer,” the pro-life source informed LifeNews. “The enrollee will make two payments, $1 per month for abortion and another payment for the rest of the services covered. As described in the rule, the surcharge can only be disclosed to the enrollee at the time of enrollment. Furthermore, insurance plans may only advertise the total cost of the premiums without disclosing that enrollees will be charged a $1 per month fee to pay directly subsidize abortions.”

The pro-life advocate told LifeNews that the final HHS rule mentions, but does not address concerns about abortion coverage in “multi-state” plans administered by the Federal Government’s Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

“There is nothing in the Affordable Care Act to prevent some OPM (government administered) plans from covering elective abortion, and questions remain about whether OPM multi-state plans will include elective abortion,” the pro-life source said. “If such plans do include abortion, there are concerns that the abortion coverage will even be offered in states that have prohibited abortion coverage in their state exchanges.”

The final rule indicates: “Specific standards for multi-state plans will be described in future rulemaking published by OPM…”

Set to go into effect in 2014, the unconstitutional provisions found in Section 1303 of the Obamacare Act compel enrollees in certain health plans to pay a separate abortion premium from their own pocket, without the ability to decline abortion coverage based on religious or moral objection.

That provision was the subject of a legal document that Bioethics Defense Fund’s Dorinda C. Bordlee, lead counsel for the group, submitted to the Supreme Court in February.

“This violates the Free Exercise Clause because religious exemptions are made for groups such as the Amish who morally object to purchasing any insurance, but no exemptions are made for Americans who have religious or moral objections to abortion,” Bordlee said.

“President Obama’s healthcare overhaul includes an ‘abortion premium mandate’ that blatantly violates the conscience rights and First Amendment religious rights of millions of Americans,” AUL president Charmaine Yoest said. “Nowhere in the Constitution does it require Americans to violate their beliefs and pay for abortions.”

ADF Senior Counsel Steven Aden says Americans should not be compelled to pay for other people’s elective abortions.

“No one should be forced to violate their conscience by paying for abortions, but that’s precisely what ObamaCare does,” he explained. “ObamaCare requires that employees enrolled in certain health plans pay a separate insurance premium specifically to pay for other people’s elective abortions and offers no opt-out for religious or moral reasons. Such a mandate cannot survive constitutional scrutiny.”

BDF president and general counsel Nikolas Nikas said the individual mandate not only forces individuals into private purchases, it also effectively mandates personal payments for surgical abortion coverage, without exemption for an individual’s religious or moral objections.

He told LifeNews in an email, “Like a Russian nesting doll, the individual mandate has nestled within it a hidden, but equally unconstitutional scheme that effectively imposes an ‘abortion premium mandate’ that violates the free exercise rights of millions of Americans who have religious objections to abortion.”

Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer Say Citizens Exercising Their First Amendment Rights Are “Un-American”… The Desperation is Showing!

This morning’s column in USAToday quotes Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer as saying, “Un-American’ attacks detail health care debate” and go on to say, “Now — with Americans strongly supporting health insurance reform, with Congress reaching consensus on a plan, and with a president who ran and won on this specific promise of change — America is closer than ever to this century-deferred goal.” This comes after Speaker Pelosi’s comments last week, that people are bringing Swastikas and the like to Town Halls, another fabricated Pelosism like saying she was lied to by the CIA under Bush, that she has no proof for. (You can bet if there were Swastikas at meetings, there would be photos!!).

Both these statements just highlight how far out of touch the House leadership is. There are Americans who are rightfully afraid exercising their First Amendment Right that the Speaker and Hoyer are calling “Un-American” for doing so and both the Healthcare Bill itself and President Obama’s along with Nancy Pelosi’s personal and job performance polls on this issue are at an all-time low and still dropping. The drop in the polls and the continues desperate comments by Speaker Pelosi prove that Obamacare is a bust and

Boehner Statement on Speaker Pelosi & Majority Leader Hoyer’s “Un-American” Comments

Washington, Aug 10 - House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement on comments by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) in this morning’s USA Today calling Americans who express vocal opposition to the Democrats’ health care plan “un-American”:
“For months, House Democratic leaders have worked to silence any opposing views in this health care debate, both here in Washington and around the country where millions of Americans are struggling in this economy. Every poll taken in the last month shows that a majority of Americans are concerned about, if not outright opposed to, the Democrats’ plan because of the cost and consequences it would mean for their own health care. Each public forum should give every participant the opportunity to express their views, but to label Americans who are expressing vocal opposition to the Democrats’ plan “un-American” is outrageous and reprehensible.
“The American people deserve answers to basic questions about whether the Democrats’ plan will increase health care costs, add to the deficit, increase taxes on middle-class families and small businesses, put government between doctors and patients, force anyone to lose their current health coverage, kill jobs, promote taxpayer-funded abortion, or cut Medicare. The fact is Democrats have not been able to address the very real concerns the American people have.

“It’s time for Democrats to start listening. When we return to Washington in September, Democrats should scrap their costly plan and finally work on bipartisan reforms that give Americans what they are seeking: better access to affordable care.”

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin says President Obama's plan to overhaul healthcare is evil

The former Republican vice presidential candidate posted her thoughts Friday on Facebook.

Palin says in the America she knows, people won't have to "stand in front of Obama's 'death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of healthcare."

She says such a system is "downright evil."

An e-mail sent to Palin's spokeswoman confirming authorship was not immediately returned.

Palin resigned as Alaska governor July 26. She promised to speak out on issues but has largely been silent on both Facebook and Twitter since resigning.

There are plenty of Republicans and others who have alternative and better ideas than HR3200 and/or experience in improving healthcare. And almost everyone that falls into that group says… Obamacare and the Dem’s proposals will bankrupt the Country unless taxes go up and rationing for grandma and grandpa (which will eventually be all of us), people with special needs and even babies with problems are enacted. And it is a proven fact that socialized medicine (which this is) takes away choice, creates a shortage of medical personnel, creates waiting to receive care and even a primary care physician, and involves Government in personal decisions. So even if government having real time access to your bank accounts, government paying for abortions, and government breaking the law by forcing ‘legal ‘aliens and people with permanent resident status here in the U.S. into Nationalized Healthcare, while covering all the illegals in this Country doesn’t bother you, maybe thought of a bureaucrat telling you that your 69 year old parent or your handicapped baby can’t have a life and death procedure because they aren’t worth it, will?!?

Please read the bill… or at least some analyzes of it!

There are articles and breakdowns of this bill available (below are a few) to anyone who is looking for the truth and the full bill - HR-3200 - full report I would advise everyone to read it for themselves and unless you are in favor of Big Brother running your life… speak up! And not just once!!

Pinocchio, Snow White, and Superman… I Had To Post This…

Pinocchio, Snow White, and Superman are out for a stroll in town one day…

Pinocchio_lRachel-Weisz-Snow-White-2 superman_pic

As they walk, they come across a sign:
"Beauty contest for the most beautiful woman in the world."

"I am entering!" said Snow White.   After half an hour she comes out and they ask her, "Well, how'd you do?"

"First Place!," said Snow White.

They continue walking and they see a sign:
"Contest for the strongest man in the world."

"I'm entering," says Superman.  After half an hour, he returns and they ask him, "How did you make out?"

"First Place," answers Superman. "Did you ever doubt?"

They continue walking when they see a sign:
"Contest! Who is the greatest liar in the world?"

"I'm entering," says Pinocchio.  After half an hour he returns with tears in his eyes.  "What happened?" they asked.

"Who the hell is Nancy Pelosi?" asked Pinocchio.

Should Pelosi Resign…

Pelosi on Tight Rope

 Some Recent Comments…

Pathetic - The ditz of the House, excuse me, Speaker of the House is caught Red Handed lying to the American People and still a gaggle of left wingers can't bring themselves to say the obvious--she's unfit for her office.

And it was not just any lie, but rather the prop, one of them anyway, she has used to prop her sanctimonious self stiff, on what is now apparent, her hypocritical pedestal. Well now, said pedestal, at the tolling of the bell, has turned the glitzy pedestal into her own hard pike.

And what’s truly astonishing is watching so many put paid on said pike so as to rest there with her.

Jon

-----

She will never do it, unless forced.

Gingrich "made an error" accepting money for a speech and they lambasted him and he was finished, when he simply could have paid the money back unlike the dems who steal documents, lie forget to pay taxes, etc...

Peeelousy will just continue to say she didn't do it and obfuscate the truth.

Nee

-----

Hmmm… Should she resign when the executive officers responsible did not?
No.

Should she initiate an investigation that will look into the policy of torture and who ordered it and who knew what and when be willing to face censure, expulsion or a trial if indicted?
Yes.

Dread

-----

Pelosi's days are numbered… At this point, her ever-changing, ever-contradicting story is an embarrassment to the Congress and her party. Republicans don't need to make her a distraction; she's doing that all by herself.

Pearl

-----

Pelosi's Problem:

There are only 4 explanations of what happened visa-a-vie Pelosi and the CIA:

1. She was asleep during the briefings
2. She has forgotten what she was told
3. She is simply lying
4. The CIA is lying.

If it is (1), then she needs to get more rest, or some NoDoz.

If it is (2), then she needs to be tested for Alzheimer's right away and get on medication

If it is (3) she needs to resign immediately before she becomes the story

IF it is (4), then show me the memo that says "Ha, Ha, we made it all up."

I suspect it is (3) but will give her the benefit and will go with (2), so she should get on medication ASAP. (Plus maybe get off of what she is on… looked at her eyes lately?)  And since she is third inline for the presidency, she should resign immediately, because that position should not be held by a mentally deficient person, not firing on 4-cylinders! (An sorry, no offense to Alzheimer's patients, just her).

The Daily Llama

What version of her story are we up to?

Angie

Nancy Pelosi doesn't know who the real enemy is!

Nancy with the one track mind is confused about who our enemies are?! She thinks her Party are the angel (Dem), victims, abused by the devil Republicans! Doubtful, the delusive Pelosi will be held accountable for her trashing the CIA; the lib/Dems hold most of the cards. Course, the CIA itself can help nudge her out and the Dems will throw her under the bus if it benefits them!

But really, what were Americans thinking to make it so easy for a one-sided Party rule? Absolute power corrupts and politicians are self-serving enough!

Vicky

-----

Nancy will be gone now!

She attacked the CIA; she lied about them; and she wants to put them in prison with LIES. Do you really think they aren’t going to destroy her now? They know stuff and can find out stuff! And even if OBAMA doesn’t let them, they will do it anyway and laugh in her face as she’s lead off to jail. What an arrogant ignorant Representative California saddled us with. She is insane and typical of the far left! The truth seems to elude them completely.

Douglas

In the ‘great quote of the day’, today:

Senator Kit Bond - (R) Missouri said, that “In a CIA briefing, they don't tell ‘ya' what methods ‘they are not going to use".

And as ‘Nancy "Bugs" Reid’ stated today, “Resign, break the glass ceiling!”, Nancy.

Personally, I hope she can weather this, I mean this dope, has set the standard for incompetence. Her and the other dope, Harry Pelosi, that is! Keep them front and center, the faces of the incompetent, abortion party.

Nancy Pelosi should resign from her position, obviously she lied and ..... You can bash all you want but what Newt says is true even if you hate him.

Gingrich: Pelosi 'Lied,' 'Despicable,' 'Dishonest,' 'Vicious,' 'Trivial'

Gingrich: Pelosi 'Lied,' 'Despicable,' 'Dishonest,' 'Vicious,' 'Trivial'

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich today offered a blistering critique of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s handling of oversight on harsh interrogation tactics, in a major escalation of partisan attacks being aimed at Pelosi.

In an interview with ABC News Radio’s Marcus Wilson, Gingrich, R-Ga., said Pelosi, D-Calif., “has lied to the House” in claiming that she was never briefed by the CIA about the Bush administration’s use of waterboarding and other harsh tactics.

"I think she has lied to the House, and I think that the House has an absolute obligation to open an inquiry, and I hope there will be a resolution to investigate her. And I think this is a big deal.  I don't think the Speaker of the House can lie to the country on national security matters,” Gingrich said.

He continued: "I think this is the most despicable, dishonest and vicious political effort I've seen in my lifetime."

"She is a trivial politician, viciously using partisanship for the narrowest of purposes, and she dishonors the Congress by her behavior."

"Speaker Pelosi's the big loser, because she either comes across as incompetent, or dishonest.  Those are the only two defenses,” Gingrich said. “The fact is she either didn't do her job, or she did do her job and she's now afraid to tell the truth.”

Pelosi yesterday accused the CIA of giving her “inaccurate and incomplete information” on the use of waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics by the Bush administration, saying that CIA officials are guilty of “misleading the Congress of the United States.”

Her recollection is contradicted by an intelligence report sent to Congress last week, which said Pelosi was briefed on enhanced interrogation techniques “that had been employed” in September 2002.

Gingrich also says that playing politics around anti-terror techniques could “get a lot of people killed.”

“This is really, really dangerous, and it is going to get a lot of people killed, if we don’t call a halt to it.”

Klein_2
ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed on the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” on terrorist suspect Abu Zubaydah in September 2002, according to a report prepared by the Director of National Intelligence’s office and obtained by ABC News.

The report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, appears to contradict Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of waterboarding or other special interrogation tactics. Instead, she has said, she was told only that the Bush administration had legal opinions that would have supported the use of such techniques.

The report details a Sept. 4, 2002 meeting between intelligence officials and Pelosi, then-House intelligence committee chairman Porter Goss, and two aides. At the time, Pelosi was the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee.

The meeting is described as a “Briefing on EITs including use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah, background on authorities, and a description of particular EITs that had been employed.”

EITs stand for “enhanced interrogation techniques,” a classification of special interrogation tactics that includes waterboarding.

Nancy Pelosi Lied About Enhanced Interrogations - Is Anyone Surprised?

UPdate: Friday, May 08, 2009 - Nancy Pelosi admits, through a statement, that she had been briefed and knew about the water-boarding... (sort 0f)  See below.

Documents were just released:  The Director of National Intelligence just released a report stating that Nancy Pelosi was definitely briefed on EIT (Enhanced Interrogation Techniques) on 09/04/02.  She was briefed not only on what EIT’s were being considered, but which had and were being used.

If she lied about this, what else has she lied about?  Leadership you can trust…??

--------------------------------------------------------------

Rep. Hoekstra: Nancy Pelosi is lying, Congress knew about the interrogations - April 23, 4:03 PM

The following is based on a press statement sent by the office of Rep. Pete Hoekstra to the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

"Obama should release the memo on the attacks prevented," said Congressman Pete Hoekstra (R-MI).

Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair got it right last week when he noted how easy it is to condemn the enhanced interrogation program "on a bright sunny day in April 2009." Reactions to this former CIA program, which was used against senior al Qaeda suspects in 2002 and 2003, are demonstrating how little President Barack Obama and some Democratic members of Congress understand the dire threats to our nation.

George Tenet, who served as CIA director under Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, believes the enhanced interrogations program saved lives. He told CBS's "60 Minutes" in April 2007: "I know this program alone is worth more than the FBI, the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency put together have been able to tell us."

Last week, Mr. Blair made a similar statement in an internal memo to his staff when he wrote that "[h]igh value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qa'ida organization that was attacking this country."

Yet last week Mr. Obama overruled the advice of his CIA director, Leon Panetta, and four prior CIA directors by releasing the details of the enhanced interrogation program. Former CIA director Michael Hayden has stated clearly that declassifying the memos will make it more difficult for the CIA to defend the nation.

It was not necessary to release details of the enhanced interrogation techniques, because members of Congress from both parties have been fully aware of them since the program began in 2002. We believed it was something that had to be done in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to keep our nation safe. After many long and contentious debates, Congress repeatedly approved and funded this program on a bipartisan basis in both Republican and Democratic Congresses.

Last week, Mr. Obama argued that those who implemented this program should not be prosecuted -- even though the release of the memos still places many individuals at other forms of unfair legal risk. It appeared that Mr. Obama understood it would be unfair to prosecute U.S. government employees for carrying out a policy that had been fully vetted and approved by the executive branch and Congress. The president explained this decision with these gracious words: "nothing will be gained by spending our time and energy laying blame for the past." I agreed.

Unfortunately, on April 21, Mr. Obama backtracked and opened the door to possible prosecution of Justice Department attorneys who provided legal advice with respect to the enhanced interrogations program. The president also signaled that he may support some kind of independent inquiry into the program. It seems that he has capitulated to left-wing groups and some in Congress who are demanding show trials over this program.

Members of Congress calling for an investigation of the enhanced interrogation program should remember that such an investigation can't be a selective review of information, or solely focus on the lawyers who wrote the memos, or the low-level employees who carried out this program. I have asked Mr. Blair to provide me with a list of the dates, locations and names of all members of Congress who attended briefings on enhanced interrogation techniques.

Any investigation must include this information as part of a review of those in Congress and the Bush administration who reviewed and supported this program. To get a complete picture of the enhanced interrogation program, a fair investigation will also require that the Obama administration release the memos requested by former Vice President Dick Cheney on the successes of this program.

An honest and thorough review of the enhanced interrogation program must also assess the likely damage done to U.S. national security by Mr. Obama's decision to release the memos over the objections of Mr. Panetta and four of his predecessors. Such a review should assess what this decision communicated to our enemies, and also whether it will discourage intelligence professionals from offering their frank opinions in sensitive counterterrorist cases for fear that they will be prosecuted by a future administration.

Perhaps we need an investigation not of the enhanced interrogation program, but of what the Obama administration may be doing to endanger the security our nation has enjoyed because of interrogations and other antiterrorism measures implemented since Sept. 12, 2001.

Rep Hoekstra, a congressman from Michigan, is ranking Republican on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Breaking: PELOSI FOLDS... Admits She Lied (Sort Of)

Speaker Pelosi Admits She Lied...

On April 23, 2009, the Far Left Speaker denied she had been told that waterboarding or other illegal interrogation methods were being used on terrorist detainees:

Poor Speaker Pelosi.
She lied to the American public a week ago.
She did not plan on the CIA leaking a memo showing that she knew about waterboarding all along.
Isn't it about time for some frogmarching?

FOX News reported:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insisted Friday that she was briefed only once about the "enhanced" interrogation techniques being used on terrorism suspects and that she was assured by lawyers with the CIA and the Department of Justice that the methods were legal.

Pelosi issued a statement after CIA records released this week showed that Pelosi was briefed in September 2002 on the interrogation methods. The briefings memo appeared to contradict the speaker's claims that she was never told that waterboarding or other enhanced interrogation methods were being used.

"We were not -- I repeat -- were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used," Pelosi said on April 23.

The emphasis seems to be on "were used," even though she conceded in a statement released Friday that she was told they would be used.

"As I said in my statement of December 9, 2007: 'I was briefed on interrogation techniques the (Bush) administration was considering using in the future. The administration advised that legal counsel for both the CIA and the Department of Justice had concluded that the techniques were legal,'" she said.

But even that statement is at odds with the official record of the briefings recorded in the CIA memo dated to Sept. 4, 2002. That memo says Pelosi received a "briefing on EITs (enhanced interrogation techniques), including use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah, background on authorities and a description of particular EITs that had been employed."
Unreal. She's still lying.

Now she's saying that she knew EIT's were going to be used but not that they had been used.
Pelosi was told the EIT's had already been used during her 2002 briefing.

Let the "truth" hearings begin!

GOP Rep. Pete Hoekstra's got the goods.

Glenn Reynolds has more.
