I chose to use an undisclosed studio so I could paint privately, without interruption, to focus on the task of embedding in a single painting all the subtle, mindless, radical and dangerous atrocities of the Obama administration.

I am just one person, a citizen of this country using my first amendment rights to speak out through my art. This is my declaration that we have never had a president do more to harm our country than Barack Obama.

To those who scoff or wish to trivialize this painting, I challenge you... I DARE YOU... study the links of the various symbols and metaphors that you see. There are over 60 in the painting. No person can analyze this image and learn about these facts and still, in good conscience, vote for Obama in 2012.
I do not hate Obama, but I hate the fact that I had to paint this picture. Has the painting gone too far? I knew when I did this that most Obama supporters would reject what I have done. But as a Conservative, I'm fed up with the corruption in Washington. And I'm sick of the political correctness that has derailed our country!

My art is an expression of the times in which I live and people will know how Jon McNaughton felt about being alive in America in 2012.

What do you hope to accomplish?

Someone once said, "there is nothing more irritating than being awaken from a sound sleep"—I hope to wake up a few. If anyone is undecided about voting for Obama, please study the painting, take the challenge, share it with your friends and help us to expose this man and vote him out of office this November.

Are you doing this for the money?

No. I paint what is important to me, but I know there are many who feel the same as I do about Obama. I am a professional artist. I make my living providing a service and I get paid to do it. The vast majority who view my work never pay a nickel. They pass it around on the Internet with their friends or see it on someone's wall.

This is just propaganda.

It seems funny that when a liberal artist paints a political motif it is called artistic expression, but when a conservative does the same thing critics call it "propaganda." When I think of propaganda I think of early twentieth century war posters commissioned by the Nazis and Communist regimes. It usually conveys a negative meaning, so I know why my critics like to use it to describe me. But I am not the government! I am simply one individual, a citizen of this country using my first amendment rights to speak out through my art.

Do you think this is art?

What is art? There are many certified art experts who would love to tell you the answer. Their opinions mean little to me because I only paint to satisfy my desire to share a message. For me, art has a way of communicating both thoughts and feelings that words fail to adequately express. If my art causes another to think and to feel, it is a success. I use metaphor and symbol because it leaves more for the viewer to discover, but for the few who choose to take the time to study I have the interactive website where I meticulously explain my images. I paint realistically because it communicates to the broadest audience. I paint political and religious subject because they are close to my heart. Whether someone from the history books could have painted it better means nothing to me. My art is an expression of the times in which I live and people will know how Jon McNaughton felt about being alive at this time in our history.

Painting of Obama Trampling Constitution Resurfaces, Artist‘s New Work Tells ’Enslaved‘ Americans to ’Wake Up!’

Some may already be familiar with the image featured above. For those who aren’t, it is painting titled “The Forgotten Man” which features President Obama trampling on the Constitution while an astonished James Madison pleads with him to stop. To the side, a man sits on a park bench in the throes of depression while 43 presidents look on. The painting, which uses discarded dollar bills and scraps of paper with individual constitutional amendments scrawled onto them.

The Blaze first reported on artist Jon McNaughton’s controversial rendition back in 2010 when the artwork was released. Now, however, McNauughton’s Forgotten Man has resurfaced and is making its rounds across the internet again after appearing on Rachel Maddow’s blog on Thursday.

In a video that accompanied The Forgotten Man’s release, the politically charged McNaughton revealed, “For a long time I didn’t know if I wanted to paint this picture, because I worried it might be too controversial.”

He explained that the man on the park bench “represents every man, woman, and child who is an American“ and who ”hopes to find the American dream of happiness and prosperity.” The artist added, “But now because of unconstitutional acts imposed on the American people by our government we stand on the precipice of disasters.”

The artists’ work can be found at McNaughton Fine Art (though the site appeared to be down, at least temporarily on Friday evening) and on his Facebook Page. A search of McNaughton’s postings on Facebook reveal a number of paintings with strong political and religious themes including another provocative work released in October 2011 titled “Wake Up America.” The image features Obama smiling on the stump while shackled Americans gather around him. We are enslaved to our debt. Wake up, America! Before it is too late…

Every man, woman and child in America is enslaved to the national debt. As an artist, I have painted my vision of the dire circumstances that surround us. Now, more than ever, each American must make a choice: we must unlock the shackles that enslave us, or will we lose our freedom. It is my hope and prayer that America will “wake up” before it is too late.

With the Nevada Caucuses around the corner, CBS Las Vegas caught up with McNaughton to talk about his work. Since the painting’s release, “It sold thousands,” McNaughton told the network.

“I sold many different sizes and editions, and now that we are in an election year I expect to sell more.”

Much of McNaughton’s work is political in nature. Previously, he released “One Nation Under God,” a painting depicting Jesus holding the Constitution and judging several archetypes including a liberal journalist, a smug college professor, and a man McNaughton calls “Mr. Hollywood.”

Originally from Arizona, McNaugton currently lives in Utah and received a full scholarship to Brigham Young University.

“I hope my work will create conversation and reach people on a deeper level,” he states on his website. “I like to use metaphor and multiple levels of meaning to reach my viewer. If it makes them think and feel, then it is successful.”

McNaughton also told CBSLV: “I’m not trying to create an art style. I want to communicate my ideas. Isn’t that the purpose of art?”

Tea Party Movement Update - Middle America Reaches Tall… Mainstream Media Falls Short

The attendance numbers for the Anti-Tax Tea Parties are in…  800,000 on the high end, 600,000 on the conservative side.

Not fringe Republicans as the mainstream media tried to paint these events.

They were (and still are) Disappointed Democrats, Moderates from both parties, Reagan conservatives, Republicans of all types, Libertarians, Fiscal conservatives, Advocates of a New Third Party, all: races, religions, economic groups, men, women, kids, gays, Straight people, even some Hollywood Heavy-Weights took a bus up to the Sacramento California Tea Party who were standing up for Common sense, not a democratic or republican issue, and for the true values of capitalism.  They were tired of big government, of both parties, ignoring them:  the Bush Administration, the Obama Administration, the present liberal Democratic Congress and Republican Politicians who have not fought for them.

And it this Tea Party Movement all about??

• It’s About Forgotten Man and Woman  - Middle America
• It's about the idea that we're all socialists now.
• It's about the idea that the government can force companies, banks and states to take money and the strings that are attached to it, that they didn't want.
• It's about power — too much power going to federal government.
• It's about corruption — too much corruption, in both parties.
• It's about the rule of law — that no one is above the law: if you're here legally or illegally, it applies-never too rich or powerful.
• It's about if you write the tax code you should pay your taxes.
• It's about the Republic, not mob rule.
• It's about the concept of free speech — we've been called insane, lunatics and worse, just for speaking out.
• It's about the years of lies from both parties — a Republican Party that claims to be for small government but gives us Medicare Part D that's got $17 trillion in unfunded liabilities.
• It's about hypocrisy — both parties claim to be the most ethical, but we get corruption and not one damn person in Washington to speak out against it.
• It's about the media that gets into bed with one party and has moved so far left that it can't even begin to see we're not extremists, we're moms and dads who just want to have a Republic for our children; but they can't see it.

And the proof of the mainstream media missing the boat and backing only one party was the lack of coverage of the Grassroots Movement.  They missed the meaning.  They missed that fact that it was the awakening of the Forgotten American who is sick and tired of being sick and tired!  Instead of paying attention and reporting the ‘news’ they tried to change the news in a political conspiracy started by Fox News, who just honest and smart enough to realize what the Tea Party Movement really represents.

It’s about:

• Bush and Obama spend or put us on the hook for $12.8 trillion, but I'm the extremist?
• Cap and Trade without any plan on who pays the taxes or where the money goes, but I'm the extremist?
• States are looking to apply retroactive taxes — that's like changing the rules in the middle of the game — but I'm the extremist?
• Vilifying AIG executives, without any law being broken, just for accepting money they were owed, but I'm the extremist?
• Bush and Obama have taken over and want to take over banks, car manufacturers and insurance companies, but I'm the extremist?
• The politicians in the House and Senate stuff $20 billion in pork and earmarks into spending bills when we have to beg the Chinese to loan us that money, and I'm the extremist?
• A Supreme Court justice and Harold Koh, who will help run the State Department, talk about trans-nationalism and by definition a diminished role for the Constitution, but I'm the extremist?
• Politicians openly talk of the Fairness Doctrine — or its ugly twin, "localism" — and curtailing my free speech, but I'm the extremist?
• Unions and big labor politicians want to take away the right to a secret ballot, but I'm the extremist?

The Government’s Answer was to call these people who were just standing up for their rights as possible right-wing radicalized extremists.
