Fukushima Radiation/Listeners Field Report On West Coast Radiation: I live on the West Coast of CALIFORNIA. Each day, I check three Internet sites: Drudge, your site and Stan Deyo. I find many articles and stories the main stream media doesn't bring up. Let me give my background: I am a semi-retired ATC controller (24 years) who spent 10 years in the Army, traveled all over the world on assignments and have been exposed to lots of stuff. In the Army, we were all trained in NBC warfare and each year we had to attend classes to remain qualified. During my FAA career, I attended a one week course in Radiological warfare and was assigned to test and maintain the various Geiger counters we had at our facility. I do not consider myself an expert but I do know how to work, read and use radiological equipment. more

Closure Of Border Patrol Stations Across Four States Triggers Alarm: The Obama administration is moving to shut down nine Border Patrol stations across four states, triggering a backlash from local law enforcement, members of Congress and Border Patrol agents themselves. Critics of the move warn the closures will undercut efforts to intercept drug and human traffickers in well-traveled corridors north of the U.S.-Mexico border. Though the affected stations are scattered throughout northern and central Texas, and three other states, the coverage areas still see plenty of illegal immigrant activity -- one soon-to-be-shuttered station in Amarillo, Texas, is right in the middle of the I-40 corridor; another in Riverside, Calif., is outside Los Angeles. more SQ NOTE: Can it be any more in your face that southern invasion is imminent!

Obama Gets Civilian Army In Healthcare Bill: Barack Obama has apparently fulfilled his campaign wish of establishing a civilian army along with setting up Universal Healthcare in America. Details of the civilian army were hidden in the voluminous Obamacare bill, which our Congressmen and Senators voted on but did not read. See the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act, page 1312: more

Water Securitization, Agenda 21 and the Right to Life: There is an estimated 366 million, trillion gallons of water on planet Earth. That number appears to be fixed, according to UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Council of the International Hydrological Program (HIP). The alarmist threat of man-made climate change states that where and how this water manifests itself in hydraulic flux across our biosphere is questionable. The HIP are a UN program system devoted to researching and finding natural water resources and managing those resources found. While the UN is well aware that the necessity of water as a vital source for life means the retention of power over all life, they are well into their schemes to develop global governance over all sources of fresh, clean water. more

Fukushima Radiation/Listeners Field Report On West Coast Radiation

July 11, 2012

Hi steve,

I live on the West Coast of CALIFORNIA.

Since April 2011, I have been testing and keeping track of radiation in my local area. I use three sites to do my sampling: a public park, a public trail head and a private truck parking area. I am also in contact with several folks doing the same in L.A., Oregon, Seattle and Vancouver Canada. Starting in April 2011, after the Fukushima accident, I began to test and keep track of radiation in my area. It has been very interesting. At first, I had problem with my Geiger counter ( Model 727), it turned out that I had to clean up the battery terminals ( they had not been used for years and had some corrosion). After I got the unit going, I started to measure the background radiation in my area. For my area it varied between 26 mR to 32 mR. As time went on, the reading I was getting started to grow pretty fast and every time it rains, I always have a spike.

As of today, my reading are 3-3.5 times background (90mR) . Corresponding with other folks such as LA, Seattle and Vancouver, their readings are much higher than mine. We have a supervisor at work who resides in Eastern Washington and had her bring me a dirt sample. The reading were 7 times the background of what am getting here. Something is very wrong. I contacted my county and state EPA and ask them questions and they all agreed that I am probably right but they do not do any of this type of testing and is the responsibility of the federal government. I called the Federal EPA ( San Francisco, I think) and at first they were very polite and responsive. However toward the end of the conversation, they were no longer helpful, refuse to answer ANY questions and eventually hung up on me. All I can think of, is that someone overheard the conversation and told the gentlemen I was talking to shut up, say nothing and hang up.

Doing some research, I am convinced that the radiation is escaping Fukushima, going up in the air, picked up by the jet stream and making its way East. Normally the jet stream would come directly toward San Francisco and go east. In the last few years, it turns north before reaching California, goes north then eastbound over Seattle/Vancouver, hence all the rain/flooding in the Dakotas. On occasions, it will come toward LA(Pineapple Express) then Northeast bound which would explain how they've had such high reading. In L.A., they check A/C filters in large buildings to collect the radiation samples. It may very well explain why my reading will peak during raining days, as the water droplets bring the radiation down to ground level.

There have been reports by experts that maintain that the entire Northern hemisphere is totally contaminated, hence it would explain the finding of Cs134, 137 in cows milk in Vermont. Based of the study that was done 10 years after Chernobyl, we are going to have the same results in Japan and on the West coast in 2020. There are reports coming from Alaska that talk about seals losing their hair, a possible sign of radiation sickness. It is truly scary that our government has NOT said one word about this. At least, NO eating fish from the Pacific ocean (remember the blue tuna whose radiation was 7 times normal) or to at least wash all our vegetables and fruits before eating. Frankly, I think they do not know what to do, cause it is very likely too late now.

My question to you is this: Do you know of any other folks (amateurs) or groups who may be doing the same as I am? Does anyone care?

Please withhold my name/location since I am still working for the government. You know how spiteful they can be.

Group Warns EPA ready to increase radioactive release guidelines - As Nuclear Alert for Fukushima Reveals a Meltdown Has Started

The EPA is preparing to dramatically increase permissible radioactive releases in drinking water, food and soil after “radiological incidents,” according to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility.

What is termed a guidance that EPA is considering - as opposed to a regulation - does not require public airing before it’s decided upon.

EPA officials contacted today in the Atlanta and D.C. offices had no response on the issue as of 6 p.m.

The radiation guides called Protective Action Guides or PAGs are protocols for responding to radiological events ranging from nuclear power-plant accidents to dirty bombs.

Drinking water, for example, would have a huge increase in allowable public exposure to radioactivity, the group says, that would include:

A nearly 1000-fold increase in strontium-90

A 3000 to 100,000-fold hike for iodine-131

An almost 25,000 rise for nickel-63

The new radiation guidance would also allow long-term cleanup standards thousands of times more lax than anything EPA has ever before accepted, permitting doses to the public that EPA itself estimates would cause a cancer in as much as every fourth person exposed, the group says.

These relaxed standards are opposed by public health professionals inside EPA, according to documents PEER said it obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

PEER is a national alliance of local state and federal resource professionals

Radiation In Massachusetts Rainwater Likely From Japan

Radiation Rain Massachusetts

BOSTON -- Health officials said Sunday that one sample of Massachusetts rainwater has registered very low concentrations of radiation, most likely from the Japanese nuclear power plant damaged earlier this month by an earthquake and tsunami.

John Auerbach, the Massachusetts commissioner of public health, said that radioiodine-131 found in the sample – one of more than 100 that have been taken around the country – has a short life of only eight days. He said the drinking water supply in the state was unaffected and officials do not expect any health concerns.

Nevada and other Western states also have reported minuscule amounts of radiation, but scientists say those presented no health risks.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health said the in-state sample was taken in the past week, but they did not say where. The testing is part of a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency network that monitors for radioactivity.

State officials said similar testing was done in California, Pennsylvania, Washington and other states, and showed comparable levels of I-131 in rain.

Massachusetts testing last week of samples from the Quabbin and Wachusett reservoirs showed no detectable levels of I-131, health officials said.

Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Richard K. Sullivan Jr. directed the Department of Environmental Protection to collect additional samples for testing from several water bodies across Massachusetts. Results will be available over the next several days.

In Japan, mounting problems, including miscalculated radiation figures and inadequate storage tanks for huge amounts of contaminated water, stymied emergency workers Sunday as they struggled to bring the country's nuclear complex back from the edge of disaster. Workers were trying to remove radioactive water from the nuclear compound and restart the regular cooling systems for the dangerously hot fuel.

JAPAN BEING EVACUATED ! Confirmed THIS IS REAL! Women and children first! March 17, 2011

Send to anyone you know in japan! Assuming Youtube isn't 100% banned there. The US military is going to start evacuating the COUNTRY of japan!

This should settle the debate as to WHETHER or not there was a meltdown... confirmed ... MELTDOWN has occurred... otherwise no evacuations would be needed.

Today.. march 17, 2011 .. the biggest evacuation ever attempted begins by the United States and Japan!

Go to wwwDOTblackcatsystemsDOTcom/RadMap/map.html radiation map on google and you will find that the levels are shown as **** NORMAL**** for Tokyo and the US right now... Here are the levels last time I checked the map: 20 Tokyo 20 Portland 10 San Francisco 15 Los Angeles 27 Denver 10 Austin 15 New York. Normal background radiation is between 5 and 28!!!  Everyone should be taking iodide potassium pills ‘now’, wherever you live in Japan or the U.S. Radiation in the food supply will be the next problem! Potassium Iodide Runs Low as Americans Seek it Out

Hello randcorp, I have potassium iodide pills I started last Friday, on the back of the box per the nuclear regulatory commission, it states that radioactivity goes airborne and waterborne and will spread up to 200 miles. Now that was last Friday with the first venting which is radioactive steam. Japan moved people 12 miles then 20 miles, radiation got to the coast of Ca. yesterday and spiked to 234, in japan, the readings got to 8,200, please keep commenting and lets us know

U.S. Military Begins Evacuating Japan

Video:  Military EVACUATION ! Confirmed THIS IS REAL! Women and children first! March 17, 2011

This has been verified on the NavyTimes and links to MSNBC:  U.S. to evacuate Americans out of Japan

WASHINGTON — The United States has authorized the first evacuations of Americans out of Japan, taking a tougher stand on the deepening nuclear crisis and warning U.S. citizens to defer all non-essential travel to any part of the country as unpredictable weather and wind conditions risked spreading radioactive contamination.

The U.S. is doing minute-by-minute analysis of the fast-moving situation, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday.

Passengers and cargo arriving from Japan are being screened for radiation “in an exercise of caution,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Thursday. She said no harmful levels of radiation had been detected.

President Obama planned to make remarks on the crisis later in the day.

On Wednesday, Obama placed a telephone call to Prime Minister Naoto Kan on Wednesday to discuss Japan’s efforts to recover from last week’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, and the nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Dai-chi plant. Obama promised Kan that the U.S. would offer constant support for its close friend and ally, and “expressed his extraordinary admiration for the character and resolve of the Japanese people,” the White House said.

But a hastily organized teleconference late Wednesday with officials from the State and Energy Departments underscored the administration’s concerns. The travel warning extends to U.S. citizens already in the country and urges them to consider leaving. The authorized departure offers voluntary evacuation to family members and dependents of U.S. personnel in Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya and affects some 600 people.

Senior State Department official Patrick Kennedy said chartered planes will be brought in to help private American citizens wishing to leave. People face less risk in southern Japan, but changing weather and wind conditions could raise radiation levels elsewhere in the coming days, he said.

“This is a very serious problem with widespread ramifications,” Clinton said during a visit to Tunisia. “There will be a continuing evaluation. This is ... a minute-by- minute analysis and we’re doing everything we can to support the Japanese and their heroic efforts in dealing with this unfolding disaster.”

Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said the military will coordinate departures for eligible Defense Department dependents.

The decision to begin evacuations mirrors moves by countries such as Australia and Germany, who also advised their citizens to consider leaving Tokyo and other earthquake-affected areas. Tokyo, which is about 170 miles from the stricken nuclear complex, has reported slightly elevated radiation levels, though Japanese officials have said the increase was too small to threaten the 39 million people in and around the capital.

Anxious to safeguard the U.S. relationship with its closest Asian ally, Obama told Kan Wednesday evening about the steps the U.S. was taking, shortly before the State Department announced the first evacuations.

But the alliance looked likely to be strained, with the U.S. taking more dramatic safety precautions than Japan and issuing dire warnings that contradicted Japan’s more upbeat assessments.

Earlier Wednesday, the Obama administration urged the evacuation of Americans from a 50-mile radius of the stricken nuclear plant, raising questions about U.S. confidence in Tokyo’s risk assessments. Japan’s government was urging people within 20 miles to stay indoors if they could not evacuate.

White House spokesman Jay Carney sought to minimize any rift between the two allies, saying U.S. officials were making their recommendations based on their independent analysis of the data coming out of the region following Friday’s massive earthquake and tsunami.

“I will not from here judge the Japanese evaluation of the data,” Carney told reporters. “This is what we would do if this incident were happening in the United States.”

Until Wednesday, the U.S. had advised its citizens to follow the recommendations of the Japanese government. As late as Tuesday, Carney had said those recommendations were “the same that we would take in the situation.”

But conditions at the nuclear plant continued to deteriorate, with surging radiation forcing Japan to order workers to temporarily withdraw. Obama met at the White House with Gregory Jaczko, chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, who recommended the wider evacuation zone.

During testimony on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Jaczko said anyone who gets close to the plant could face potentially lethal doses of radiation.

“We believe radiation levels are extremely high,” he said.

State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the U.S. had consular personnel in the Miyagi and Ibaraki prefectures and was sending officials out to check on Americans.

“We have consular teams on the ground,” Toner said. “Where they can, they are going door to door. They are going to hospitals. They are trying everything in their power to reach out and find American citizens.”

The Pentagon said U.S. troops working on relief missions can get closer than 50 miles to the plant with approval. Lapan said the U.S. would review requests from the Japanese for assistance that would require troops to move within that radius, though no approval for such movement had been given since the stricter guidelines were enacted.

The Pentagon said troops are receiving anti-radiation pills before missions to areas where radiation exposure is likely.

“U.S. forces remain in Japan and the U.S. has full capability to fulfill our alliance commitments to defend Japan and maintain peace and security in the region,” Lapan said.

With the arrival of three more ships to the massive humanitarian mission, there were 17,000 sailors and Marines afloat on 14 vessels in waters off Japan. Several thousand Army and Air Force service members already stationed at U.S. bases in Japan have also been mobilized for the relief efforts.

Airmen have been flying search and rescue missions and operating Global Hawk drones and U-2 reconnaissance planes to help the Japanese assess damage from the disasters. The operation is fraught with challenges — mainly, figuring out how to continue to provide help amid some low-level releases of radiation from the facility, which officials fear could be facing a meltdown.

Weather also temporarily hampered some relief plans Wednesday. Pilots couldn’t fly helicopters off the deck of aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan until late afternoon because of poor visibility. The 7th Fleet said 15 flights with relief supplies were launched from the eight-ship carrier group, about half as many as the 29 flights reported the previous day to deliver food, water, blankets and other supplies.

Several water pumps and hoses were being sent from U.S. bases around Japan to help at Fukushima, where technicians were dousing the overheating nuclear reactors with seawater in a frantic effort to cool them. The U.S. had already sent two fire trucks to the area to be operated by Japanese firefighters, said Cmdr. Leslie Hull-Ryde, a Pentagon.

Fallout Map From Fukushima Destroyed Nuclear Plant

3-12-11

KIMBERLY'S COMMENTS:

If there is jetstream storm coming dropping down from Canada, that would push the fallout map path depicted above further south. The polar jet stream and subtropical jet streams are both seriously manipulated now and quite unpredictable. The sun and solar flares (which we are now having) also impact weather and jetstreams.  Also El Nino and El Nina greatly impacts the jetstreams.

EL NIÑO/SOUTHERN OSCILLATION (ENSO)

DIAGNOSTIC DISCUSSION

issued by
CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER/NCEP

10 March 2011

La Niña continued to weaken during February 2011 as reflected by the reduced strength of the negative surface and near-surface temperature anomalies across much of the equatorial Pacific Ocean (Fig. 1 and Fig. 4). The Niño indices were between –0.5oC and –1.3oC at the end of February (Fig. 2). Subsurface oceanic heat content anomalies (average temperatures in the upper 300m of the ocean, Fig. 3) returned to near zero in response to the eastward progression of a strong oceanic Kelvin wave, which has weakened the negative temperature anomalies at depth in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific (Fig. 4). La Niña continued to be most evident in the atmospheric circulation over the equatorial Pacific, although at lesser intensity. Convection remained enhanced over much of Indonesia and suppressed over the western and central equatorial Pacific (Fig. 5). Also, anomalous low-level easterly and upper-level westerly winds have persisted in this region. However, a reduction in the strength of the anomalous low-level cross-equatorial flow, and associated oceanic upwelling, over the eastern Pacific contributed to anomalous SST warming in that region. Collectively, these oceanic and atmospheric anomalies reflect a weakening La Niña.

In concurrence with the observed evolution, nearly all of the ENSO models predict La Niña to weaken further in the coming months (Fig. 6).

Northern Hemisphere's two major jet streams:
the polar jet stream and the subtropical jet stream.

Meandering polar jet stream often takes wild north-south swings.

The location of the jet stream is extremely important for aviation. Flights between Tokyo and Los Angeles using the jet stream eastbound and a great circle route westbound.

In case you missed it: The 5th largest earthquake recorded since 1900 devastated Japan and triggered a massive 23ft high tsunami that destroyed everything in its path. The exact death toll from the largest quake in Japan's history has yet to be determined, but hundreds are dead and thousands are missing. Alaska and Hawaii were hit with the first tsunami waves just after 8am this morning, and California was preparing for contact just before noon eastern time. (4 people were killed and 35 boats were damaged in Northern California) Get the latest updates on The Blaze live blog and watch the incredible footage of the moment the quake struck Japan, along with the helicopter footage which shows the tsunami gobbling up everything in its path as it plowed through the countryside.  Great coverage on Fox Cable News as well.
