Sarah Palin Responds to Roger Ailes Quote Explaining Why Fox News Hired Her AND Why She Accepted

FOX News’ Roger Ailes Talks Back – Great Interview!

By Gary P Jackson – A Time For Choosing – Cross-Posted at Ask Marion

The left is all excited about the prospect of juicy bits coming from the new book, Roger Ailes: Off Camera (Kindle), about Fox News’ chief Roger Ailes, including one about why he hired Sarah Palin:

Governor Palin posted this to Facebook:

Fox’s Roger Ailes says he hired me “to piss off the people that wanted her dead.” Hmmm. Funny. I accepted for the same reason!
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/roger-ailes-fights-back-cnn-668765?page=2

She added this just to rub liberals’ noses in it:

With another book coming out about Roger Ailes and Fox News, stay tuned to find out what I really think about all this. In the meantime…
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2014/01/08/roger-ailes-fox-has-won-the-cable-news-wars

That link takes us to John Nolte’s article on Fox News’ total dominance of cable news:

Roger Ailes, the CEO and Chairman of Fox News, has declared victory over his left-wing competitors, CNN and MSNBC. In a lengthy interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ailes points out correctly that MSNBC and CNN have given up on and are moving away from the news business: “That means Fox has won the cable news wars.

Indeed it does.

MSNBC has [already] announced they’re out of the news business,” Ailes added. “They have several different hosts, but it’s always the same show: Republicans are no good.” Ailes pointed out that CNN is moving out of the news business and mocked CNN chief Jeff Zucker over the network’s bizarre obsession with the documentary Blackfish: “[Zucker] had a big hit with a whale one night [the documentary Blackfish]. I guess he’s going to do whales a lot.

Just this morning, CNN aired a full package on a few protesters motivated by Blackfish to give Southwest Airlines a hard time. You could compare CNN to a train wreck, but people actually watch those.

Fox News not only dominates in the ratings (frequently beating CNN and MSNBC combined in total viewers), but both CNN and MSNBC suffered horrible years in the department of credibility. Among other things, CNN was caught red-handed flaking for gun control and fabricating evidence to frame George Zimmerman as racist. Due to its own embarrassing scandals, MSNBC lost two of its anchors, Martin Bashir and Alec Baldwin; and to close out an already awful year, anchor Melissa Harris-Perry led an on-air segment ridiculing Mitt Romney’s infant grandson.

The biggest news Fox News made about itself, though, was juggling an already successful primetime line-up into something even more successful. Moving rising cable superstar Megyn Kelly to 9pm has not only boosted the network’s ratings by 20% in the coveted 25-54 demo but this happened without bumping a single anchor or host.

Fox News has not only won the cable news wars but scared its competitors into becoming something else entirely. MSNBC is now National Public Radio with pictures and a mean streak while CNN is, well, a slow-motion disaster.

Another loser in this cable news war is the Soros-backed, tax-exempt, left-wing Media Matters, who surrendered in their own Ahab-esque battle against Fox News by declaring victory.

Progressive Racism and Stupidity Know No Bounds

The attack on the Romneys and their newly adopted family member, little Kieran James Romney, truly exemplifies the worst of Progressivism and the worst in the mainstream media! It is Progressive (reverse) racism, stupidity and anti-conservatism all rolled into one!

Each year the Romneys, like many families, take a family photo for their Christmas cards.  Sometime the photo includes the whole family, kids and grandkids, sometimes just the Mitt and Ann Romney with the grandkids.

MSNBC’s (Reverse) Racist Progressive Anchor Melissa Harris-Perry Strikes Again

For me the yearly photo is inspirational, showing a beautiful loving family that should be a model and inspiration for anyone… everyone.  But the leftist hate-mongers and race-baiters like Melissa Harris Perry, the MSNBC host that started the whole white Santa/white Jesus debate, in an attempt to stir the racism pot, and playing out in an attempt to make newest Fox primetime anchor Megyn Kelly look like a racist… because she said Santa and Jesus were white.  And yes, this is the same MSNBC where anchor Martin Bashir made the disgusting remarks about Sarah Palin which ultimately led to his resignation.

Video: Melissa Harris-Perry MSNBC Panel Mocks Mitt Romney and Black Grandson

Melissa Harris-Perry Panel Mocks Black Romney Grandchild As Token:

The MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry concluded the "What's So Funny About 2013?" segment of her Sunday show with a chorus of laughter at the black grandson pictured in former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's family Christmas photo. The chuckles were directed at baby Kieran - who was adopted by Romney's son Ben and his wife Andelynne in September.

"One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just isn't the same," panelist Pia Glenn offered as a caption for the photo, which the Romneys tweeted on Christmas Eve. (Lyrics of the original "Sesame Street" song are, "One of these things just doesn't belong.")

"And that little baby, front and center, would be the one," Glenn said.

It continued with:

The host then mused at the possibility of a marriage between Kieran Romney and North West — child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

“Can you imagine Mitt Romney and Kanye West as in-laws?” she asked.

“I think this picture is great,” comedian Dean Obeidallah chimed in. “It really sums up the diversity of the Republican party and the RNC, where they have the whole convention and they find the one black person.”

Conservative bloggers alerted by the Right Scoop and decent people with a heart and common sense everywhere were appalled. As Dana Parino of Fox said on The Five, “Thank God for the Right Scoop, one of the few who watch MSNBC to alert the rest of us”. Jessie Waters, as part of a panel discussion on ‘The Five’, added that his uncle adopted a black baby, who is now grown, that everyone loves and always accepted as part of the family without thought or question and felt that this was actually an attack on baby Kieran as much as on Mitt Romney.

Ironically, the segment ends by teasing in the next block, an annual "'Look Back in Laughter' tradition of asking 'Hey - Was That Racist?'"

Obeidallah later apologized in a statement to CNN, saying: "Occasionally my jokes have been known to 'cross the line' and I can assure you that in the future some of my jokes will do that again. My joke on MHP was not intended in any way to mock the Romney family or the baby they adopted. Rather it was a joke about the lack of racial diversity that we see at the Republican National Convention. I apologize to the Romney family and especially the baby if any of them were offended by that joke."

Glenn apologized for the controversy on Twitter, writing, "In a spontaneous reaction to a photo, my disdain for Mitt Romney's political platform led me to inadvertently insult adoptive families ... I can say all day what I 'meant,' but my intentions do not negate the very real pain I have caused. I sincerely apologize.

These days Republicans and anyone to the right of the Progressive media are damned if they do and damned if they don’t…

And from all reports, Mitt and Ann Romney are generous, loving and spiritual people who are family oriented and love all their kids and grandkids without question and are also always the first to volunteer to help anyone in need. Sounds like a great family for Kieran or any child to be a part of!

It is time to look at which side of the aisle the racism is really coming from plus time to look at what lengths Progressives are willing to go to discredit and attack Conservatives, Republicans, people in the Faith Community and even their children… regardless of the truth; just like they did the toddlers of Sarah Palin and Rick Santorum, both special needs kids. Palin slammed MSNBC’s mockery of the Romney grandchild saying, 'Holy Unbelievable'…!!

Nobody said a word when Hollywood liberal Sandra Bullock adopted a black baby as a single mom following her hit movie The Blind Side [Blu-ray], which coincidentally follows the theme of that movie, or when liberals Angelina Jolie or Madonna adopted non-white children.  And newly elected self-avowed Marxist Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio is looked at as a progressive thinker for having a black wife and mixed race children.  Oh and then there is MSNBC anchor Melissa Harris-Perry herself a product of a mixed marriage. Was her life a joke or a mistake?  I guess if you are a liberal you are a hero if you adopt a minority child or have an interracial marriage, but if you are a religious Republican family like the Romneys or Arizona Senator John McCain who also adopted a child of a different race after his wife Cindy brought daughter Bridget home after a cyclone relief trip to Bangladesh in 1991, you are trying to score political points or are somehow insincere in your intentions at best?

Perhaps this is also a good time to look at the real history of Racism in the Democrat party, remembering that Lincoln was the first Republican president and that most blacks were Republicans until ‘the powers that be at the time’ cut a deal for their vote with MLK and other civil rights leaders in exchange for the civil rights legislation passed under LBJ, but actually originally proposed by Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  Time to look at the intolerance of Progressives in action; far different from their words.  And perhaps its even time to ponder the affects of the left’s Holy Grail: Unfettered Abortion Rights that have killed millions black babies, a larger percentage much larger than of any other race or ethnic group in the U.S.; something that would make eugenicist founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, smile.

Because of the outrage, Melissa Harris-Perry finally was forced to apologize for this segment, as well, but there is a pattern here… perhaps it is time for Harris-Perry to follow Martin Bashir out the door, or is the true problem MSNBC needing a scrubbing of conscience, an injection of common sense, a lesson in journalism and a major overhaul?  Progressives in D.C. and the media have been manipulating, indoctrinating and slanting the news as well as the opinions of average Americans for far too long!!

Obama Thanksgiving Disgrace

By Marion Algier - AskMarion

Thanksgiving is a time for family, for remembering those who founded this country… long before it was a nation, and to give thanks.

President Obama wants a seat at your table to propagandize during the Holidays… Thanksgiving and Christmas to promote his agenda, especially ObamaCare.

Daily Caller: America’s families will soon get their turkey, potatoes and cranberries at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners — but some will also get a tableside political pitch for the Obamacare insurance network.

President Barack Obama’s deputies at Organizing for Action are urging supporters to give an Obamacare pitch to their relatives during the most iconic of American family and religious events.

“Take advantage of downtime after meals or between holiday activities to start your talk,” says OFA’s marketing script, titled “Health Care for the Holidays.”

At Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, “people will be under the “misconception that the government-designed health-payment plans are too expensive,” says the presidential pitch, which was emailed out on Nov. 23.

“Tell them: There are a variety of plans available in the new health insurance marketplace, so you can pick one that fits your budget. There’s also financial assistance available based on how much you make,” says OFA’s script.

Obama’s effort to push his political priorities into Americans’ private family and religious events reflects his determination to take over the nation’s health-care sector.

Obama and his progressives allies believe that average Americans need their professional, university-learned and well-paid skills to manage their lives.  That’s very different from Americans’ evolved popular culture, which declares that families are best able to help young people develop good character.

The progressives’ determination to gatecrash iconic family events reflects self-confidence in their own expertise, their long-held pity and contempt for ordinary Americans and for the institution of family, plus their ability to attract young people to their cause.

But it also shows how Obama and his deputies are worried that their trouble-plagued Obamacare network is in peril.

The online script tries to build up the confidence of young people nervous about making the dinner-table pitch. “If you have family members who are uninsured, you can play a big part in helping them find coverage that works for them. It might not always seem like it, but your family listens to you. So have the talk,” isays the pitch.

The pitch was previewed Nov. 18 by Sara El-Amine, OFA’s national training director at Organizing for Action. “We all have that uncle or that cousin who needs to be convinced or who needs health-insurance… so [OFA volunteers have begun to] practice those sometime-hard conversations,” she said in a phone call to OFA’s volunteers.

“If every person on this call committed to something small, like talking to your uninsured cousin or nephew at the Thanksgiving table, think about the impact we could have,” she said.

“We’re not going to be able to fight this fight without you,” she told the volunteers, who had gathered to hear a statement from their leader, Obama.

The online script glosses over the many problems with the Obamacare website. But it urges supporters to ask relatives to bring personal information, such as Social Security Numbers, to the dinner so they can use the family computer to join Obamacare after dessert.

The OFA script includes a short video, in which two drab parents urge their friendless young son to buy health-insurance, while they eat Obamacare-compliant small portions of drab food.

The script downplays the cost of Obamacare premiums and deductibles, which are especially high for young, healthy people.

The Obamacare system depends on the monthly Obamcare tax payments from young and healthy people, many of whom are already struggling to save money, get married, pay off student loans or even get a full-time job in stalled economy.

Young peoples’ Obamacare taxes are used to offset the huge cost of providing very expensive insurance to Democrat-leaning groups of immigrants, unskilled, unmarried or sick people.

Other regimes have used children to help government penetrate private family and religious events.

One extreme example is provided by the violent rulers of the Soviet Union, who urged the nation’s children to follow the fabricated example of 14 year-old Pavel Morozov. The boy, according to the official Soviet investigation of his death in 1932, was killed by relatives after he called the secret police to arrest his father for illegal activities. The father was shot after a trial, according to the fabricated story.

Four of his Morozov’s relatives were reputedly shot by the Soviet government to help boost the story, which was used to persuade millions of kids to be loyal to government rather than to their families.

Obama’s determination to pitch his Obamacare program is now tinged with desperation, following the public’s recognition that Obama’s university-trained aides spectacularly failed to manage a staged rollout of the Obamacare network, despite three years of planning.

In recent weeks, Obama’s ratings have plunged down to roughly 40 percent, following the public’s recognition that he lied when he said in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2103 that Americans would be able to keep their insurance plans and doctors after the Obamcare networks is established.

Many Americans’ access to their healthcare is being reduced by Obamacare’s crippled malfunctioning website, by large price spikes, by shrinking access to doctors and reduced marketplace choices.

GOP legislators are trying to develop a replacement system, that would provide large tax-breaks to help people to buy health-insurance from any qualified company in the nation. The GOP alternative would provide federal money to help sick people offset the cost of debilitating medical conditions, and allow them to keep their insurance when they lose or change jobs.

This holiday season, getting a lump of coal in your stocking might actually be preferable, considering the alternative gift from the folks at Organizing for Action is Obamacare. Their newest cult campaign is called "Health Care for the Holidays." How festive. "This holiday season, make sure to talk to your loved ones about getting covered," the group's newest ad campaign says. "These conversations don't have to be tough — OFA can help." Because your family holiday gathering should actually be an opportunity for you to register them for Obamacare, or something. OFA even provides you with these handy talking points to sell your loved ones on signing up. Follow these easy steps and you're sure to be the life of any holiday get-together:

Start by asking: "Have you thought about signing up for health insurance on the new marketplace?"

Offer to walk them through it: "Would you like to take some time with me to sign up right now?"

Ask them to make a plan, and commit to it: "When do you plan on signing up?"

Don't forget to follow up: "Have you signed up yet?"

"It might not always seem like it, but your family listens to you," OFA says. "So have the talk."

Video: HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND MERRY CHRISTMAS: OBAMA CAMPAIGN WANTS YOU TO GIVE 'HEALTH CARE FOR THE HOLIDAYS'REALLY?

I come from a family that talks politics at the dinner table and at holiday gatherings.  We also talk religion, history and about pretty much everything.  But there are people at the table from both parties as well as independents.  There are Christians, Jews and Atheists represented.  And there are recent immigrants, immigrants from 60+ years ago and Americans who don’t know when their ancestors got here or even where from.  There are Veterans from WWII, Korea,  Vietnam, Somalia, and Iraq and even some who fought on the German side in WWII and everyone speaks their mind. And there are friends from a large variety of ethnic groups and every race.  It gets pretty lively at times! But we don’t do propaganda or promoting agendas for anyone especially for Obama’s failed and power-grabbing policies.

In a country where 85% of the people say they believe in God, regardless of their religious affiliation, President Obama has left God our of his Thanksgiving message the past 4-years; guess we will see about this year.  And this Thanksgiving many Americans are finding themselves without medical insurance because it was cancelled due to ObamaCaresome with serious illnesses, and many that used to have healthcare insurance can no longer afford it.  And now President Obama wants you to convince your friends and family to step-up and save his flawed policy on Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Since when is that a holiday activity or even American??  The President’s request is disgraceful!!

What we do talk about is how grateful we are to live in America and we talk a bit about Thanksgiving and the history that surrounds it. We also talk about trivia surrounding Thanksgiving. We say a prayer, honor the troops and veterans and thank God for all our blessings.  We watch football, eat too much and we also have It’s a Wonderful Life playing on (a non-football designated) TV.  It seems to capture the feeling of Thanksgiving as well as kick us off into the Christmas Season.

We also exchange recipes, talk about years past and try to involve our children in our traditions as well as inform them about our past, family and country, like both Sarah Palin and Ann Romney talk about in their new books: ‘Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas’ (Kindle) and The Romney Family Table: Sharing Home-Cooked Recipes & Favorite Traditions (Kindle).  We serve the same menu whether it is only immediate family or we are seating 50, our largest celebration, but extra dishes are always welcome!

During dessert we have added a grateful bowl tradition to our Thanksgiving Celebration. It is a great addition to your festivities! This year as everyone arrives for Thanksgiving Dinner, have each of them fill out a grateful note, to be deposited in a bowl, basket or container.  After dessert has been served, (with the TV temporarily turned off if possible) have everyone gather within earshot and have someone draw out the slips of paper one by one and have a designated person read them aloud.  It will give your Thanksgiving a very different feeling.

Romney Beats Obama in New Poll

obama-romney 2012

Photo: PatDollard

By TAL KOPAN | 11/19/13 6:53 AM EST -  POLITICO: As more bad poll numbers continue to pour in for President Barack Obama, a new survey finds that if the 2012 election matchup were held this month, Mitt Romney would hold the edge with the voters.

Romney topped Obama 49 percent to 45 percent among registered voters in the Washington Post-ABC News poll released Tuesday. Among all Americans, the 2012 rivals would be tied, at 47 percent.

Obama beat Romney 51 percent to 47 percent a year ago to win a second term.

The poll also found more bad news for Obama: His approval was down to 42 percent, a fall of 6 points from a month ago. Fifty-five percent disapproved of the job he is doing as president.

Support for the president’s signature health care law was also down 6 points since late October, standing at 40 percent. Fifty-seven percent said they oppose the law. Similarly, approval of Obama’s handling of Obamacare was also underwater, with 33 percent approving to 67 percent disapproving.

The Post surveyed 1,006 adults from Nov. 14 to 17 for the poll, which has an error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

The most frustrating part is that we now know that Romney was right about Benghazi, that the unemployment numbers (Jobs) Report released right before the 2012 Election was faked plus Romney knows economics and business; expertise we desperately need..  Add to that the vast amount of reported voter fraud and voter intimidation, in both the 2008 and 2012 Presidential elections and every American should feel cheated.

In an interview with Chris Wallace last March, Romney said it is killing him not to be president.

A Sneak Peek At Ann Romney's Speech

Here are a few snippets the Romney campaign released of Ann Romney's speech, which she'll deliver tonight at the Republican convention in Tampa:

Tonight I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts.

“I want to talk not about what divides us, but what holds us together as an American family. I want to talk to you tonight about that one great thing that unites us, that one thing that brings us our greatest joy when times are good, and the deepest solace in our dark hours.

“Tonight I want to talk to you about love. …

“Mitt's dad never graduated from college. Instead, he became a carpenter.

“He worked hard, and he became the head of a car company, and then the governor of Michigan.

“When Mitt and I met and fell in love, we were determined not to let anything stand in the way of our life together. …

“I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a ‘storybook marriage.’ Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer.

“A storybook marriage? No, not at all. What Mitt Romney and I have is a real marriage. …

“At every turn in his life, this man I met at a high school dance, has helped lift up others. He did it with the Olympics, when many wanted to give up. …
“This is the man America needs.

“This is the man who will wake up every day with the determination to solve the problems that others say can't be solved, to fix what others say is beyond repair. This is the man who will work harder than anyone so that we can work a little less hard.

“I can't tell you what will happen over the next four years. But I can only stand here tonight, as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an American, and make you this solemn commitment:

“This man will not fail.
“This man will not let us down.
“This man will lift up America!”

Ann Romney is Governor Romney's secret weapon. That's exactly why the Obama Media alphabet networks won't carry this live.

I hope she discusses, as she did earlier on CNN the way Governor Romney cared for her when she was ill with MS.

Oh and by the way, Ann Romney has always been proud of her country.

Multiple Sclerosis-Afflicted Neil Cavuto Slams MSNBC’s Attacks on Ann Romney: ‘Horse’s Asses’…

MSNBC’s continuous string of near slander against Mitt Romney has just spawned yet another aggressive bit of push-back, this time from Neil Cavuto of Fox News. You may recall that MSNBC anchor Lawrence O‘Donnell recently slammed Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney, for claiming that she participates in the sport of dressage as therapy for her multiple sclerosis. According to O’Donnell, “There are a lot of things you can do to try to deal with MS. But come on, dressage does not appear in any of the more traditional courses of treatment.”

Turns out that that assertion is breathtakingly wrong, as Cavuto pointed out while citing multiple clinical organizations that treat multiple sclerosis and consider horse therapy a very traditional, and often very effective form of therapy. Watch his takedown here:

Cavuto Video to MsNBC: “Lean Forward – Bend Over! You… ‘Horses Asses’…

As you can plainly see, Cavuto doesn’t pull punches in this clip. “You’ve got a disease in your name – maybe you should stop calling names,” he starts the segment.

He then proceeds to go right for the jugular, while still remaining preternaturally calm, calling MSNBC a collection of “horse’s asses“ and slamming them as ”condescending, sanctimonious“ people with ”incredible ignorance” of multiple sclerosis treatments. He then points out that the horse riding therapy – known as “hippotherapy,” according to Cavuto – is used to treat walking conditions associated with multiple sclerosis. Quoting from the “industry bible” on neurology, Cavuto says straight out that “this is a legitimate therapy.”

Cavuto’s stern correction only serves to confirm the generally low opinion of MSNBC which is beginning to percolate amongst the rest of the media. Glenn Beck, for instance, hammered the network over its smear tactics on his radio show today after savaging their most recent factual errors:

“You have no credibility at all,” Beck thundered. “The ratings are going to tank on MSNBC, because Americans are fair.”

On a side note, setting aside the numerous factual errors on the network, Cavuto‘s takedown misses a blistering example of hypocrisy on the part of Lawrence O’Donnell. To complain about how particular therapies don’t appear on the “traditional” list, when the Left has pushed for numerous untested medical ideas, such as embryonic stem cell research and assisted suicide. Neither of these is in any way “traditional,” and O’Donnell is not on record opposing either of them, so why the selectiveness?

Hear and see Beck radio takedown of MSNBC video to fit their agenda:  Here

"If they (the liberal bias media) is that egregious at lying on that issue, what else are they lying about?"

RIDING AS THERAPY

Equine therapy is catching on as a fun and helpful activity for many MS patients.

One to three times a week a growing group of MS patients across the country saddle up to relieve some of their symptoms and to boost their self-esteem. Equine therapy is used to treat a variety of diseases and disorders besides MS, including mental illness, cerebral palsy, and brain injury. According to the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association Inc. (NARHA) in Denver, Colorado, more than 26,000 riders with disabilities benefit from therapeutic horseback riding activities at NARHA centers.  Read full article here

Romney Wins Texas and Clinches GOP Nomination

Mitt Romney clinched the Republican presidential nomination last night (Tuesday) with a win in the Texas primary, officially garnering the 1,144 delegates needed to claim the Republican presidential nomination.  It was a triumph of endurance for the candidate who came up short four years ago and had to fight hard this year as voters flirted with a carousel of GOP rivals, all slugging it out and scratching to reach the prize.

Romney

According to The Associated Press count, Romney surpassed the 1,144 delegates needed to win the nomination by winning at least 97 delegates in the Texas primary.

The former Massachusetts governor has reached the nomination milestone with a steady message of concern about the U.S. economy, a campaign organization that dwarfed those of his GOP foes and a fundraising operation second only to that of his Democratic opponent in the general election, President Barack Obama.

Romney is the first Mormon nominated by a major party. His religion has been somewhat less of an issue than it was during his failed bid four years ago; perhaps because the economy is on the forefront of everyone’s mind.  Plus many question President Obama’s honesty about his religion, so believe a Mormon is a definite improvement over a Reverend Wright style Christian or perhaps a closet Muslim.

"We did it!" Romney proclaimed in a message to supporters, noting that "it's only the beginning."

Romney was not in Texas, however, but in Las Vegas at a major fundraiser hosted by supporter Donald Trump.

Romey and Trump

"An honor and a privilege and a great responsibility," Romney told supporters at a fundraiser in Las Vegas. "And I know the road to 1,144 was long and hard, but I also know that the road to 11-06…  Nov. 6th… is also going to be long and it's going to be hard and it's going to be worth it because we're going to take back the White House and get America right again."

Romney thanks troops in new campaign video

Romney must now fire up those conservatives who still doubt him while persuading swing voters that he can do a better job fixing the nation's struggling economy than Obama. In Obama, he faces a well-funded candidate with a proven campaign team, but in his favor, in an election year that will be heavily influenced by the negative economy… Obama’s economy.

Romney's campaign went on the attack Tuesday, releasing a Web video citing the Obama administration's loan-guarantee investments in four renewable-energy firms that lost money and laid off workers.

The message, "President Obama is fundamentally hostile to job creators",  has been a theme of the Romney campaign since he launched his presidential bid. But sensing this as an opportunity to reach a new audience, the campaign planned to highlight Obama's support for the failed renewable energy company Solyndra, among other private ventures the Obama administration helped support.

"We need to have presidents who understand how this economy works," Romney told reporters Tuesday. "Sometimes I just don't think he understands what it takes to help people. I know he wants to help, but he doesn't know what he's got to do."

Romney's message and his big day, however, were somewhat overshadowed by real estate mogul Donald Trump and his discredited suggestions that Obama wasn't born in the United States.  Course others were cheering that Trump had the guts to say it.

Romney spent Tuesday evening at a Las Vegas fundraiser with Trump, who had toyed with the idea of running for president earlier in the election season. Romney says he believes Obama was born in America but has yet to condemn Trump's repeated insinuations to the contrary.

Both Trump and Romney steered clear of the issue at Tuesday's, said to have been successful, fundraiser. (Coincidentally, Romney officially released his birth certificate yesterday.)

When asked Monday about Trump's contentions, Romney said, "I don't agree with all the people who support me. And my guess is they don't all agree with everything I believe in." He added, "But I need to get 50.1 percent or more. And I'm appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people."

"He's going to turn this country around. He's going to create jobs like you haven't seen for many, many years," Trump declared. "We were a great country. Soon we won't be a great country at all... Mitt Romney will make us a great country again."  Later in the evening Trump told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren, “Romney understands what needs to be done with China!”

Republicans won't officially nominate Romney until late August at the GOP national convention in Tampa, Florida. At latest count, Romney now has 1,183 convention delegates.

He won at least 97 delegates in Texas with 33 left to be decided. The 152 delegates in Texas are awarded in proportion to the statewide vote. The other delegates were sprinkled among several candidates.

Texas Republicans also voted in a Senate primary to choose a candidate to run for the seat being vacated by Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and state Solicitor General Ted Cruz were headed to a runoff in July.

With about three-fourths of precincts reporting, Dewhurst led with 45 percent of the vote compared to 33 percent for Cruz. Dewhurst, however, fell short of the majority he needed to avoid a runoff. The nominee will be strongly favored to win in November in heavily Republican Texas.

Romney, 65, is clinching the presidential nomination later in the calendar than any recent Republican candidate, but not quite as late as Obama in 2008. Obama clinched the Democratic nomination on June 3, 2008, at the end of an epic primary battle with now Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Four years ago, John McCain reached the delegate threshold on March 4, after Romney dropped out of the race about a month earlier.

This year's primary fight was extended by a back-loaded primary calendar because of new GOP rules that generally awarded fewer delegates for winning a state, changes they seemed to regret as the campaign bogged down.  Plus the Republican electorate seemed to enjoy extending the battle before settling on Romney.

Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and yes… Donald Trump all sat at the top the Republican field at some point. Minnesota Rep. And at one point early on, Ron Paul also appeared to have the ability to secure the top spot for a short time.  But Romney outlasted them all, even as some GOP voters and tea party backers questioned his conservative credentials.

The primary race started in January with Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator, narrowly edging Romney in the Iowa caucuses. Romney rebounded with a big win in New Hampshire before Gingrich, the former House speaker, won South Carolina.

Romney responded with a barrage of negative ads against Gingrich in Florida and got a much-needed 14-point win. Romney's opponents fought back: Gingrich called him a liar, and Santorum said Romney was "the worst Republican in the country" to run against Obama.

Gingrich and Santorum assailed Romney's work at Bain Capital, the private equity firm he co-founded, saying the firm sometimes made millions at the expense of workers and jobs. It is a line of attack that Obama has promised to carry all the way to November.

On Feb. 7 Santorum swept all three contests in Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota, raising questions about Romney's status as the front-runner. After a 17-day break in the voting, Romney responded with wins in Arizona, Michigan and Washington state before essentially locking up the nomination on March 6, this year's version of Super Tuesday.

Romney has already been in general-election mode for weeks, raising money and focusing on Obama, largely ignoring the primaries since his competitors dropped out or stopped campaigning. Santorum suspended his campaign April 10, and Gingrich left the race a few weeks later.  Texas Rep. Ron Paul said on May 14 he would no longer compete in primaries, though his supporters are still working to gain national delegates at state conventions.

Both Santorum and Gingrich initially offered tepid endorsements of Romney as the left the race but Gingrich is now actively promoting Romney's campaign.

Among those in the crowd in Vegas last night: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who joined his former rival on the trail for the first time since dropping his own bid for the Republican nomination last month.

While Gingrich didn't speak at the fundraiser, he talked to reporters ahead of the event, defending Romney's muted reaction to Trump's birther conspiracies.

"Gov. Romney is not distracted, the Republican Party is not distracted. We believe this is an American-born, job-killing president," Gingrich told reporters, per the Los Angeles Times. "Other people may believe that he was born somewhere else and still kills jobs, but that's an argument over background. The key fact is for any American worried about the economy, Obama is a job-killing president."

Rich Galen, a Republican strategist who has been unaligned in the 2012 race thus far, said the long, sometimes nasty primary fight should have helped Romney fine-tune his campaign organization so it can operate effectively in the general election. Galen doesn't, however, think it was relevant in toughening up Romney for the battle against Obama.  Not quite sure how that follows, but we shall see!

"Romney's been running for president for six years. He is as good a candidate as he's ever going to be," Galen said. "Whatever you say about him, he was better than everybody else in the race."

So the general now officially begins!  Game on….

Romney Meeting and Greeting

Romney’s official announcement sent out to his online supporters:

Friend,

Tonight, we surpassed 1,144 delegates and secured the nomination. I am grateful and humbled by your support through this process. We did it!

This has been an extraordinary journey. And yet it's only the beginning.

Now all Republicans can move forward toward our convention in Tampa. There, we will stand united as a party with a winning ticket for America. Ours will be a campaign to unite every American who knows in his or her heart that we can do better.

There's much to be done by November 6th - but with your help, we will get it done!

Thank you for standing with me.
Mitt Romney

"Taxmageddon" in 2013? Can We Avoid It? Can You Afford It?

Can We Avoid "Taxmageddon" in 2013?

Tea Party Nation:

By Alan Carnuba

In 1959, during an interview with the late Mike Wallace, Ayn Rand, the author of “Atlas Shrugged”, said “A free market will not break down. All depressions are caused by government interference and the cure that is always offered is more of the same poisons that caused the disaster.”

After the stock market crashed on October 29, 1929, the government’s solution to the crisis was to raise the top tax rate from 25% to 63%. Successively this was increased to 79% and then to 94%, effectively choking off capital formation, investment, and the incentive to start new businesses.

Not until World War Two broke out in Europe in 1939 and threatened the security of the United States and its allies did Franklin D. Roosevelt reverse his failed policies that had stretched out the Depression, turning to private enterprise to build the airplanes, tanks, and guns that would be needed to defeat the Axis powers and, in 1941, the Empire of Japan. Capitalism saved America.

America suffered a little known shock to its economy on September 15, 2008, just a month and a half shy of Election Day, when around 11 AM the Federal Reserve noted a tremendous draw down of money market accounts in the nation to the tune of $550 billion dollars in just over an hour or so. The decision was made to close the accounts. Had they not done that, the Reserve estimated that by 2 PM the entire economy of the nation would have collapsed. Within 24 hours, the world economy would have followed.

The financial crisis this triggered was put off by letting the investment house of Lehman Brothers fail and by getting Congress to agree to a $700 billion program to bail out other investment firms and the insurance firm, AIG. Simply put, without a banking system, you do not have an economy.

Americans are in for another shock to the system on January 1, 2013 when nearly a half trillion in higher taxes will become the law of the land. Taxmageddon would be the largest tax hike in the history of the nation.

The taxes pose such a threat to the anemic “recovery” the economy is said to be having that a think tank called the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget has been urging the CEOs of corporations and financial institutions to meet with members of Congress to bring pressure to resolve the gridlock that has brought the nation to the precipice of yet another financial crisis.

How bad is the prospect of January 1, 2013? A May 11th Heritage Foundation analysis listed the following:

# Income tax rates shoot up,

# the child credit rate is cut in half,

# the marriage penalty roars back to life,

# the capital gains tax rate goes up,

# the dividend tax rate soars,

# the payroll tax rate jumps two percentage points,

# the death tax is restored to its punitive past,

# the Alternative Minimum Tax relief expires, and

# a uniquely pernicious additional payroll tax hike from Obamacare takes effect unless the Supreme Court strikes down the law as unconstitutional.

These tax hikes are a combination of expiring tax cuts, particularly the Bush era cuts that President Obama decried, along with newer taxes he advocated. To put it another way, in 2011 Americans had to work 111 days to earn enough money to pay for federal, state and local taxes before they could begin to pay all their other expenses. Unless “Taxmageddon” is repealed, it will take eleven more days in 2012.

The Obama administration ignored the deficit-reduction findings and recommendations of the Simpson-Bowles commission it initiated to address the nation’s financial problems. It imposed Obamacare which will control one sixth of the nation’s economy and which is replete with all kinds of more tax provisions.

Congress put together a “super committee” to address the government’s enormous spending, the threats to the Social Security and Medicare programs, and to recommend tax reforms. It failed and, instead, imposed an across the board “sequestration” program of spending cuts so dangerous to the national security that even Obama’s Secretary of Defense called it catastrophic.

The hope now is that, after the November election, in the interim period before the next President is sworn into office and a new Congress convenes, the increases in taxes can be avoided. That is what the CEOs are belatedly pushing for.

Suffice to say, until power was returned to the Republicans in the House in 2010, a Tea Party movement success, Congress had been on a spending spree and, of course, every measure the House has been forth since then has been spurned by the Democrats, particularly in the Democrat-controlled Senate which has set a record for not producing a budget for the past three years.

Unless voters return power in the Senate to Republicans and defeat President Obama’s reelection, life in America is going to worsen and the nation faces another round of credit rating reductions that will affect its ability to borrow to meet its current debt obligations.

A great nation will have been reduced to pauper status by a profligate Congress whose only “solution” has been to raise the debt ceiling.

ON JANUARY 1, 2013, If OBAMA HAS HIS WAY, THE US GOVERNMENT WILL BE REQUIRING EVERYONE TO HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT FOR SS CHECKS.
WONDER WHY?  -  HR 4646… HAVING BEEN REINTRODUCED AS HR 1125

Be sure to read entire explanation…

Watch for this AFTER November elections; remember this BEFORE you VOTE, in case you think Obama is looking out for your best interest.

A 1% tax on all bank transactions is what HR 4646 (HR 1125) calls for.

Do you receive a paycheck, or a retirement check from Social Security or a pension fund and have it direct deposit??

Well guess what ... It looks as if Obama wants to tax it 1% !!!

This bill was put forth by Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA).

YES, that is 1% tax on all bank transactions - HR 4646, every time it goes in and every time money goes out.

Ask your congressperson to vote NO.

FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!

1% tax on all bank transactions ~ HR 4646 - ANOTHER NEW OBAMA TAX SLIPPED IN WHILE WE WERE ASLEEP. Checked this on snopes, it's true! Check it out yourself ~ HR 4646.

President Obama's finance team is recommending a one percent (1%) transaction fee (TAX). Obama's plan is to sneak it in after the November elections to keep it under the radar.

This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution - banks, credit unions, savings and loans, etc. Any deposit you make, or even a transfer within your own bank from one account to another, will have a 1% tax charged.

If your paycheck or your Social Security or whatever is direct deposit, it will get a 1% tax charged for the transaction.

If your paycheck is $1000, then you will pay Obama $10 just for the privilege of depositing your paycheck in your bank. Even if you hand carry your paycheck or any check in to your bank for a deposit, 1% tax will be charged.

You receive a $5,000 stock dividend from your broker, Obama takes $50 just to allow you to deposit that check in the bank.

If you take $1,000 cash to deposit at your bank, 1% tax will be charged.

Mind you, this is from the man who promised that, if you make under $250,000 per year, you will not see one penny of new tax.

Keep your eyes and ears open, you will be amazed at what you learn about this guy's under-the-table moves to increase the number of ways you are taxed.

Oh, and by the way, if you receive a refund from the IRS next year and you have it direct deposited or you walk in to deposit that check, you guessed it. You will pay a 1% charge of that money just for putting it in your bank.
Remember, any money, cash, check or whatever, no matter where it came from, you will pay a 1% fee if you put it in the bank.

Some will say, oh well, it's just 1%. Are you kidding me? It's a 1% tax increase across the board. Remember, once the tax is there, they can also raise it at will. And if anyone protests, they will just say, "Oh,that's not really a tax, it's a user fee"!

Think this is no big deal? Go back and look at the transactions you made from last year's banking statements. Then add the total of all those transactions and deduct 1%. Still think it's no big deal?

Can you really afford 4 more years???

The following is copied from (left leaning/Soros affiliated) Snopes… so you know it is true and coming if Obama is re-elected!:

This Should Be an Eye-Opener - Van Jones Group and Unions Putting Up Anti-Romney Billboards… Why? Because They Know They Can Beat Gingrich

Rebuild The Dream (Van Jones) Putting Up Anti-Romney Billboards!

I just received my email from Rebuild the Dream and it looks like they are going to give Newt Gingrich and all other NON ROMNEY candidates a helping hand. How and Why? Well, take a peak at this newsletter and perhaps you will get as big of a chuckle out of this as I did. I am still laughing! Go put up the billboards RTD and we will thank you for it later! :)

Wow. Just hours before the president called for fairer taxes in the State of the Union address, millionaire Mitt Romney released his tax returns, revealing that he paid a tax rate of just 13.7% on more than $45 million of income.

That is grossly unfair, but these kinds of outrages disappear from the headlines after a few days all the time. We can't let the Romney Loophole become old news, and we need to keep the pressure up on Congress.

Rebuild the Dream is planning to put up billboards in Washington, D.C. with bold headlines proclaiming, "CLOSE THE ROMNEY LOOPHOLE."

The billboards will help keep this tax fairness issue at the center of the debate in Washington. But to get them up, we need to raise $50,000 in the next few days. There are thousands of us reading this email. If we chip in just a few dollars each, we can reach our goal. Can you help?

Hours after we all learned about Mitt's low tax rate (and his Swiss bank account), the president called for fairer taxes including a new minimum tax for millionaires and no higher taxes for 98% of Americans.

That is good, but the tax debate is going to be as tough this year with the Tea Party in Congress as it was last year. We can put the opponents of fairer taxes on defense if we all do our part. Can you chip in?

Thanks,
Natalie, Van [Jones], Billy, Jim, Ian, Somer and the rest of the Rebuild the Dream team

Wake-up Peeps… Team Obama is afraid of Romney and are creating this whole Gingrich phenomenon because they know Newt has too much baggage and the the independents won’t vote for him and we are playing right into their hands.

This is another one of of these “the truth doesn’t matter” campaigns  on Team Obama’s part.  They want to run against Gingrich… not Romney!

The Truth About Romney’s Taxes:

As Dennis Miller explains:

Romney (the wealthy) pay 35% corporate taxes. Then they pay 15% capital gains taxes (again, a second bite of the apple on that same money) if it is invested, plus money given to charity and his church. And then when he dies they hit his family with a huge estate tax.

50% of Americans now pay ‘no’ taxes at all. So who is not paying their fair share. Think about it… don’t let the muckrakers convince you of things that aren’t true… or it will hurt our country and economy in the long run.

After nearly a week on the defensive, CNN's John King reports tonight that Newt Gingrich's claim about offering witnesses to ABC News in his defense — to rebut the network's interview with his second wife, Marianne Gingrich — was not true. "Tonight, after persistent questioning by our staff, the Gingrich campaign concedes now Speaker Gingrich was wrong — both in his debate answer, and in our interview yesterday," King said on tonight's edition of John King USA. "Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond says the only people the Gingrich campaign offered to ABC were his two daughters from his first marriage." An important victory for John King in his ongoing effort to justify last Thursday's confrontation. (Politico)

Tic… Tic… GOP Toc… or Rather Talk

Does anyone else just want to scream: STOP!!!

What  the GOP candidates should be focusing on is righting the economy; creating an environment to enable the creation of jobs; promoting freedom here and abroad without continuing to be the baby-sitter of the world; defeating the growing threat posed by Iran and other evil regimes and making Barack Hussein Obama a one-term president based on his abysmal record, anti-American and anti-free-market philosophies, lack of vetting in the 2007-2008 campaign, and his questionable decisions on policies, associations and connections.

Instead, what we have let happen is let the media and Team Obama manipulate us, the voters as well as the GOP candidates themselves into creating a soap opera of issues which has moved the discussion and the candidates themselves into a ‘mudfest’ slinging it in all directions instead of taking the high road by focusing on the real issues.

On the list(s) of most beloved American Presidents, ranging from one of the poorest to the richest, are: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Harry Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, JFK, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton in varying order and depending who you are polling. (Although, President Obama in a recent speech has said he is the 4th greatest president of all time… no modesty issues there!) Another interesting observation is that Teddy Roosevelt whose head is one of the four at Mt. Rushmore, thanks to his cousin FDR, is never on the most beloved or most influential U.S. Presidents lists. On the Five last week, both the libs and conservatives on the panel agreed that if Newt and Obama end up being our 2012 Election candidates, by the time the election is over they will have parleyed themselves up on the same level as God?!?)

An interesting side note: in today’s money… George Washington was the richest American President we have ever had and Mitt Romney, although very wealthy, would not be the richest. Thomas Jefferson, FDR and JFK were also extremely wealthy; JFK lived off his trust fund almost exclusively. And John Kerry, had he have been elected would have been one of the richest. The Bushes are no pikers either! Even our “redistribute the wealth President, Obama, is a multi-millionaire”.  So why so much focus on Mitt Romney’s wealth and taxes?

Before the South Carolina primary nationwide 63% of people polled (across the board) believe that Mitt Romney is the most electable in comparison to only 9% for Newt Gingrich… but the ads and a couple of good days of debates managed to convince Carolinians that Newt was the most electable… to the tune of 68% according to the exit polls.  This could end up being the election cycle that breaks South Carolina’s record of picking the GOP nominee that has held since Reagan.  Of course in every other election that candidate also either won Iowa or New Hampshire… where Newt came in 4th and 5th and with Santorum winning Iowa (in a virtual tie with Romney) and Ron Paul coming in 3rd and then Romney winning in New Hampshire decisively where Ron Paul came in second.  This seems to be the year that nothing will follow previous norms.

John Fund of the American Spectator appeared on Fox the day after the South Carolina primary saying part of what catapulted Gingrich into his strong win in SC is the fact that the only entity that Americans hate more right now than Congress, President Obama or politicians in general is the mainstream media (MSM) and Newt, being handed two opportunities  during the week before the SC Primary to lash out against the media, gave the voters an opportunity to vote against the MSM by voting for him. (Santorum commented jokingly on an interview on Sunday following the SC primary, “Whatever Newt paid those reporters to throw him those questions at the debates last week wasn’t enough!” and Karl Rove kiddingly suggested to Chris Wallace that perhaps Mitt needs to twist a few reporters’ arms to do the same, earlier that morning.

Gingrich was the big hero this past week because he took on the MSM after questions that look more like gifts... and right now the media polls lower than anyone in Washington... Congress, Obama or any of the GOP candidates, so many undecideds voted against the media instead of for Gingrich. Also many people mistook Palin's comment about voting for Gingrich to keep the contest going as an endorsement. (Palin also encourage Santorum to stay in the race.)

Greg Gutfeld, co-host of The Five and host of Redeye made one of the most interesting observations of Romney’s debate performance last week that I have heard:

Mitt Romney is an alpha-male in a religion that prizes humility…  Newt is an alpha male that prizes the sound of his own voice… which often gets him in trouble.

Although Romney seems to be coming out swinging now:

A newly aggressive Mitt Romney charged in the campaign debate Monday night that Newt Gingrich "resigned in disgrace" from Congress after four years as speaker and then spent the next 15 years "working as an influence peddler" in Washington.

Gingrich shot back that Romney's attacks were riddled with falsehoods, and he referred to statements by two men who ran against Romney in 2008 in contending the former Massachusetts governor "can't tell the truth."

The clash occurred in the opening moments of the first of this week's two debates before the Jan. 31 Florida primary.

I believe it was Eric Bowling of The Five who said that Newt Gingrich has never had an un-uttered thought and Rick Santorum intimated the same.  That is not necessarily a good trait for a president.

Team Obama and their Progressive army, which includes the mainstream media (MSM) plan on Stealing Election 2012 by whatever means necessary including voter fraud, keeping the GOP fighting amongst themselves and trying to create a 3rd party candidate run to divide the anti-Obama electorate. They know Obama cannot win on his record!

Other than the Progressive far left, more and more Americans are realizing that the hope and change they voted for was an illusion created by Obama and the elites, including puppet master George Soros, that were behind his election. Those that really listened to what he was saying or not saying and did their homework in 2007 and 2008 already knew it was a lie.  Now it is Team Obama’s job to re-build that false hope and demonize the GOP field. If you haven’t read The Obama Nation, you should!

Obama has been in full campaign mode since summer 2011, rather than governing, and his Team has been in full attack mode behind the scenes, going after each GOP candidate as they rose to the top of the field.  Unfortunately from my vantage point the American people have allowed them to get away with that starting waaay back with Sarah Palin, in the last election.  And like with Sarah, the tea party and other conservatives did not vehemently back the candidates, Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain, who most reflected their views with the steadfast and financial support they needed… so that ship has sailed.

Conservatives talk a lot about their values, but often don’t support the candidates with those values with financial contributions.  And when you look at the fact that married women in a socially conservative state like South Carolina voted in droves for philanderer Newt Gingrich right after his wife released in an interview that he had asked her for an open marriage… you have to wonder how strong their convictions are…

“What we would have considered taboo and a fatal nominee flaw a few years ago, is suddenly okay evidently. Sex in the White House? Not a problem… Cheated on your wife and divorced? Not a problem… Buddy around with known radicals and Marxists? Definitely not a problem… And the Overton Window slides inexorably to the left. What has happened to us? We were once the greatest nation on the planet. We had a robust economy, a strong military, a Christian ethic, strong morals, a rich history and leaders of whom we were proud. Now? Well, we have an economy that is close to a Weimar moment. Our leaders have gutted our military. Christianity is being systematically destroyed and vilified. Morals seemed to have been replaced by an entitlement mentality. Our history is being rewritten and erased. Our leaders are corrupt, gutless, spineless, knee scrapers, who only care about themselves and their personal pocketbooks.” …TMH of the NoisyRoom from her recent piece Revolution Moves into the Overton Window

We are now left with a field of 4 (alphabetically):  Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum who stand between us and the United ‘Socialist’ States of America… so perhaps it is time to start focusing on the issues, the candidates’ plans and attacking Obama’s record instead of excoriating each other.  It is time that we, as voters, do our own homework as to the real facts and on stage and in public have the candidates focus on the big issues that will matter in the general election.

Newt Gingrich - A Nation Like No Other

Gingrich is not the great conservative savior... He is as much of  a flip flopper as he likes to accuse Mitt Romney of and has personally been anything but a social conservative. (Newt has a long history of philandering and although he seems to have had a recent religious conversion and has now embraced Catholicism, Santorum, Romney and Paul have all been married to the same women for their entire adult lives, were great and present fathers and I don't know about Ron Paul, but Santorum and Romney are and always have been very involved in their faith.)   Newt has been involved in lobbyist type of activities and is definitely a Washington Insider that was almost removed as Speaker by his own party after being brought up on ethics charges.  He is really more of a Rockefeller type Republican than the Reagan-style Republican he likes to make himself out to be. After all, Reagan’s 11th commandment was thou shalt never speak badly of a fellow Republican, yet if you honestly look back over the past two months, Newt has been the biggest mud-slinger of all.

Also check out: Unbelievable?! Newt Love FDR, Models Himself After Woodrow Wilson and Admires SEIU’s Andy Stern…

There is no question that Newt is the best debater and is brilliant, but many who have worked with him, including fellow GOP candidate and former Senator from Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum, have claimed that Newt’s ideas are non-ending and grandiose, but never get completed.  He would be great in the debates against Obama, but debating and leading a country are two different skills!  Plus, let us all remember that no matter what Gingrich would like, there will only be two to three 1 to 2-hour debates between the GOP nominee and Obama in the general election, not seven or eight - 3-hour Lincoln-Douglas style debates, where Newt’s debating skill would be at a premium.  And if Monday’s NBC debate is a warning, the audience for those debates will no-doubt be kept from applauding, let alone giving a standing ovation.

Overnight we are hearing that Gingrich is the the electable candidate but Ann Coulter, Dana Parino, Glenn Beck, Pat O’Brien, Greg Gutfeld, Bob Beckel, Kirsten Powers, and a long varied list of others from both parties have in the past 24-hours said that choosing Gingrich as the GOP nominee will not only guarantee that Obama is re-elected but that the GOP loses the Congress.  Chris Christy, a Romney supporter, says Gingrich has often embarrassed the Republican party.

His character flaws—his impulsiveness, his grandiosity, his weakness for half-baked (and not especially conservative) ideas—made him a poor Speaker of the House. Again and again he combined incendiary rhetoric with irresolute action, bringing Republicans all the political costs of a hardline position without actually taking one. Again and again he put his own interests above those of the causes he championed in public. …National Review

Gingrich has also just released his company’s 2006 consulting contract for services to Fannie and Freddie and has already raised new questions.  It appears that his function in that matter might not technically qualify as lobbying, but that it definitely qualifies as influence peddling… not work as a historian, which is how Gingrich explained his services.

Ron Paul - The Revolution

Ron Paul would love to be president but when you really listen to what he says in his speeches, in my opinion he is appears more focused on getting out his message and collecting delegates to affect the outcome of this election and have influence over the next administration than really believing he can win. Many believe that getting a position for himself, like overseeing the Federal Reserve or getting his son Rand a V.P. slot and/or then continuing his organization for a future Rand Paul (who was today detained by the TSA)  for President may be his goal.

Ron Paul is a Libertarian and an expert on the Constitution and his economic policy and fight against the Fed is right on, believe most people.  Some of this other ideas scare some people.  But his followers are loyal to a fault and he has not only the largest following of all the candidates of young people but also the strongest military following, which is interesting because his ideas on foreign policy is what scares a lot of people off.

Paul has pledged to cut 1 Trillion dollars in the first year if he is elected, while the other 3 candidates plan to make cuts but in a much more timid fashion, at least from what we have heard so far. We should note that Ron Paul is one of the founders of the tea party, yet he does not necessarily get the tea party vote because of some of his foreign policy opinions and his stand on legalizing things like drugs and prostitution.

However some suggest that if Ron Paul’s Libertarian handlers and his more radical supporters could soften their ideology a bit he might even have a chance to win the nomination.

Mitt Romney - The Real Romney

Romney, now that Cain is out of the race is ‘the’ only businessman, saved and led the Olympics and has been a Republican Governor in a Democratic state where he had to compromise to get things done.  At a time where we need jobs, need to open new trade markets and must rebuild our economy, that is experience we need in a president.

The attack on Romney’s wealth… which he did not inherit but made on his own; the type of business he was in which is totally legal and taught as part of MBA programs throughout the U.S.; the percentage and amount of taxes he pays (which is higher than what 97% of Americans pay plus his additional tithe of 10% back to his church) and his account in the Cayman Islands which is totally legal, and the on-going attacks on his faith and even his eligibility… are an afront to free-market economics, freedom of religion and the American Dream.  The fact that there is even a question about eligibility or the religion of any of these candidates while Obama is still not being vetted is amazing! Although at least at this moment, Obama is to Appear at an eligibility Hearing: Attorney Taitz Says It Will Be ‘100 Times Bigger than Watergate’If he really does, things might just start getting interesting.

I really think Mitt is getting an unfair wrap from a so-called free-market Capitalistic country and society. Everything he appears to have done is within the law, it makes him a good capitalist, not a crook, and the loopholes are the government’s fault. Maybe America will be richer again if he is in-charge and he manages our money like he has managed his own.  So far Newt hasn’t even proven he can even manage his own campaign. He allowed his advisors to steal all his funds at the beginning of this campaign?!?

Mitt has donated millions to the Mormon Church (his 10% based on his religion)… as we all should be doing to our respective churches if we are Christians based on our income, and whether he is a Mormon, a Catholic or a Protestant he should be praised not punished for his tithing.  And he did release his taxes earlier than anyone other than Gingrich’s 1 return, but many including Lou Dobbs and Mike Huckabee suggested he should have told everyone to stick it or that he will release them when he is ready.  See Hedgecock’s: Obama is a Culture Socialist

And as far as Mitt’s flip flops… he has answered everyone of these questions, including in his book No Apology   He, like Newt, at one time favored global warming legislation, but after learning more about it, has changed his mind.  He has always been personally pro life, but thought he could follow the pro choice mandates of Massachusetts, where he was governor, (just like Santorum explains he is a pro work candidate, but voted to follow is state’s union leanings while in the Senate as their representative), but then Romney could not sign a bill that came before him on stem cells that were to be created and then destroyed, so then governed as a pro life governor.  He has also explained in some detail about his reasoning behind RomneyCare and that it is a state issue, about the differences between RomneyCare and ObamaCare and the changes that have been made since he left office. And he has vowed to do what it takes to get rid of ObamaCare as soon as he gets into office as President, like all four candidates have. And if you do your homework, you will see that it is Newt Gingrich who has supported an individual mandate up until just one year ago… and it was Gingrich who helped blow out Paul Ryan’s popular economic plan and appeared in an ad with Nancy Pelosi to promote global warming legislation.

Rick Santorum - Rick Santorum

Rick Santorum is the last true social conservative in the field and if that is your priority then he is your candidate.  He also has experience in the U.S. Senate in a blue collar Democrat state where he had to compromise, but he is not a pure conservative in other areas based on his Senatorial voting record.

Rick Santorum is brash and blunt, and proudly so. But it's a trait that will make it easy for Democrats to use his own words against him if he were to become the Republican presidential nominee. He wrote a book: It Takes a Family in response to Hillary Clinton’s book: It Takes a Village.  The Democrats went after Santorum during his 2006 re-election bid for statements in his book  claiming he was insensitive to the struggles of two-income families.

He is a great family man and true to his faith and God.  And he is the son of an immigrant so brings with him that special love of America that comes from growing up in a family of legal immigrants from that era.  Santorum is a specialist on Iran and speaks of it with passion.

He also showed us amazing tenacity as he campaigned in every county in Iowa with little money or support and eventually went on to win that Caucus.

Santorum may still surprise and turn out to be the conservative alternative choice to Romney over Newt.  Santorum is relatively baggage free and Newt is baggage laden, which is why the Dems are salivating at the thought of his nomination.

“I look at the current crop of conservative candidates from which we have to choose and I can’t help but think, is this the best we can do? Really?? The most conservative of the lot that also believes in our military and protecting the US is Rick Santorum. He’s still my candidate and I pray fervently that he will prevail and win the nomination. But the odds are against him.” TMH of the NoisyRoom from her recent piece Revolution Moves into the Overton Window

Many have described the Republican race – in a year when President Obama is totally beatable with the question: Has it come to this: Newt Gingrich, serial philanderer, liar, hypocrite, secret Rockefeller Republican, back-stabber and megalomaniac versus Mitt Romney, the Supreme Panderer, the man-with-no-principles, an utter phony who will say anything and flip-flop at any time – and someone who was not a Reaganite until he ran for president in 2007 sandwiched between Rick Santorum an extreme social conservative in some people’s eyes, but not a true conservative by his Senatorial voting record and Ron Paul everyone’s crazy constitution reciting uncle, who has been talking about his Libertarian ideals for years but no one ever thought would make it this far… and now the country has changed and are coming around to his thinking.  In reality, none of these 4 fall into the true conservative ‘right-wing’ confines of the GOP as measured by social, fiscal and ideological standards and both Mitt and Newt are considered RINO’s by the right wing of the party.

But I have chosen to take a more positive outlook.  I say, “Is Progressive free-market-hating and America-hating Barack Obama the best the Democrats can do for a candidate?  While the GOP actually has a clear choice of four uniquely individual  candidates, all of which are better than Obama.  And any one of them might not be ‘exactly’ what any of us want, but all of them will be better than what we now have and will put us back on the road in the right direction to continue the fight toward re-establishing the nation and Constitution that the Founding Fathers gave us. One of the best things all Americans can do is to work as hard as you can and vote for your choice of these 4-men in the primaries and then come together and vote for the GOP nominee to defeat Obama while making sure you elect a solid Republican House and Senate.

I really think that some of what we are hearing about all the candidates is just propaganda… from both sides, and much is exaggerated, skewed or unimportant.  But the more I read about both Mitt and Newt, if I have to choose between them, at least at this point, I would vote for Mitt.  Neither were my first choice.  Sarah was my first choice, and then Cain and Bachmann, and I’m still routing for Santorum but the main goal is making Obama a one-term President.  So I will vote for the GOP nominee; any of the 4 remaining candidates would be better for America than Obama.  But from what I’m hearing through some inside connections… the WH is cheering over Newt’s present lead and SC win. And that SC win makes Florida’s winner-take-all primary more critical than ever, where Ron Paul is only participating in a limited way!  Although he and all the candidates will participate in both Florida debates.
