ABC: No Flags Please; We Are Americans

ABC News Bans flag and Patriotic lapel Pins’ Even Barbara Walter Complains

Yes, the mainstream media, in this case ABC "News" cannot do enough, quickly enough to destroy whatever independence, sovereignty and freedom we still have left. Now American Flag lapel pins are banned.

After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, there was a report that ABC News asked its on-air reporters not to wear American flag pins or red, what and blue ribbons. Some pointed out at that time that ABC seemed to have been singled out a, for what some said had previously been a standing policy by some news networks of no flag pins or patriotic displays. However that is questionable too, for Brit Hume has worn flag pins on air at CBS, NBC, CNN and FOX.

ABC seemed to loosen it’s policy for awhile as the wave of patriotism swept the nation after 9/11 but last week they reinstated their policy which is in line with the White House, to ban American Flag Lapel Pins for journalists. The tenth anniversary of 9/11 seems an odd time to reinstate this policy?!? (Obama wears one now again when he feels looking patriotic is to his advantage. You’ll see it a lot more as candidate Obama is out on the campaign trail.)

‘ABC News Joins Obama - Bans American Flag Lapel Pins’ was the headline - Barbara Walters said that this was going to hurt ABC bad, as it should. As you know she works for ABC.

Associated Press writer David Bauder quoted Barbara Walters as saying that ABC discouraged its reporters from wearing the flag because "...it may confuse the audience." She was also quoted as saying that there was concern whether someone who decided not to wear a flag in the midst of all the others might be viewed as less patriotic.

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS!

YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING REPORTERS TO WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA. THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT 'CAUSES'.

SINCE WHEN IS SUPPORT FOR PREVENTING DEATH AND DESTRUCTION SOME SORT OF A 'CAUSE'? SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?  EVER? WE ARE AMERICANS.

IN REALITY THIS IS NOT A MOVE BY ABC TO REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT ‘CAUSES’, BUT RATHER ANOTHER MOVE BY ABC TO MARCH IN LOCK STEP WITH THE LEFTIST ANTI-PATRIOTIC OBAMA WHITE HOUSE AND ANOTHER WIN FOR POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, THE REVENGE OR MARXISM

I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES. WE ARE SLOWLY, NO, RAPIDLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!

THIS HAS BEEN VERIFIED THROUGH:  http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/a/abcflag.htm as well as at AskAbout.com/Urban Legends (Snopes has not been updated since 2008 on this subject… but they are becoming less and less reliable and leaning more and more to the left anyway.)

Oscar nod 'Inside Job' pro-Obama propaganda

Documentary filmmaker's $220,000 to Dems exposes political activism

"Inside Job" has made the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' short list for Best Documentary Feature, and is the Hollywood insiders' favorite to win the Oscar. But conservative critics say the film, which blames Wall Street, deregulation and the Bush administration for the financial crisis, is political propaganda masquerading as serious documentary.

While grossing a disappointing $2.9 million so far at the box office, "Inside Job" has garnered almost universal acclaim. Out of 57 critical reviews, the film has earned an average rating of 8.2 out of 10, according to imdb.com, an Internet movie database.

Will your family survive the global currency collapse? 'Crashing the Dollar' documents Obama's deliberate financial 9/11 of the U.S. economy

The San Francisco Chronicle, for example, gushed that the documentary will "educate" Americans.

"After seeing 'Inside Job,' audiences will be smart angry," the newspaper said. "They'll know specifically how bankers, traders and economists brought on the recession. They'll know who did it, and where to place the blame."

"'Inside Job' was directed by Charles Ferguson, who made the best and most clear-headed documentary about the Iraq War ('No End in Sight')," the review continued. "But this documentary on the financial crisis is an even more impressive work of journalism.

"This took intellectual heft," it claims, "but also a personal toughness that I suspect people who don't do journalism for a living won't quite appreciate."

But reviews have neglected to mention the filmmaker's political activism.

Creator Ferguson, who in fact is not a journalist and has worked for the Brookings Institution, a liberal think tank in Washington, has contributed more than $220,000 to the Democratic Party and Democrat candidates. According to Federal Election Commission records, he has given exclusively to Democrats, including:

  • $25,000 to the Democratic National Committee in 2000
  • $28,500 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 2007
  • $26,700 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006
  • $28,500 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2008
  • $10,000 to the Democratic Party of Oregon in 2004
  • $10,000 to the Colorado Democratic Party in 2004
  • $2,500 to the Nevada State Democratic Party
  • $4,600 to Obama For America in 2008
  • $30,800 to the Obama Victory Fund in 2008
  • $2,000 to John Kerry in 2003
  • $25,000 to Kerry Victory 2004
  • $5,000 to Friends of Albert Gore Jr. Inc in 1998
  • $2,000 to Al Gore in 1999
  • $27,250 in donations to individual Democratic candidates for public office

In a recent interview with TV talk show host Charlie Rose, Ferguson maintained: "I'm not a partisan person. I'm not a political person. I've never run for office, I never will. I've never served in the government. I view my function as policy analysis and investigative journalism."

Rose did not ask him about his generous political donations to Obama, who has personally met with Ferguson. (Ferguson's co-writer on the film project, Adam Bolt, has also donated to Obama's campaign, federal records show.)

"When President Obama was elected, he had a very, very special opportunity of a kind that comes once a century, maybe, to really change this country for the better, to reverse what's been happening to this country for the last quarter century," Ferguson told Rose.

He said he hopes Obama creates a government that "actually governs and regulates and keeps control and tries to make the society fair again."

Critics say "Inside Job" whitewashes the role of government-sponsored Fannie Mae and Freddie Macin the financial debacle. The federal chartered mortgage giants underwrote almost half the bad loans in the subprime crisis.

The movie gives government a "virtual pass," said Barron's editor Gene Epstein, "except as stooges or agents of the capitalists."

"The financial system corrupted our political system," actor Matt Damon narrates at the end of the film, "and plunged the world economy into crisis."

"In fact, the movie has it exactly backwards," says Investor's Business Daily veteran Paul Sperry, author of the forthcoming book, "The Great American Bank Robbery: The Unauthorized Report About What Really Caused The Great Recession.""Washington corrupted the financial system by socializing mortgages."

He explains that government over the past two decades issued new housing and credit mandates that "fundamentally changed the home finance market."

Leftwingers Outraged By Being Associated With Leftwingers

Nazis (and by implication all “right- wingers,” past and present) were inherently wicked. Their agenda was evil from A to Z, their methods along with their goals.

Communists (and by implication left-wingers) at least mean well. Oh, they might get a tad overzealous at times (killing more people than the Nazis and the Bubonic Plague combined, as documented in the The Black Book of Communism, for instance) but at least their hearts were in the right place. Even Barry Goldwater might get it. “Extremism in the defense of socialism is no vice!”

In a one hour special titled “Revolutionary Holocaust; Live Free or Die” run on January 22nd Glenn Beck mounted a full-frontal attack against the above notion—and left it a smoking cinder. First off, by sourcing Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism, Beck swept aside a premise that often handicaps conservatives from the get-go: the premise that Nazis belong on the right. Bombarded by relentless documentation to the contrary, this liberal bromide quickly blew up, and the program proceeded to report on the notoriously under-reported Communist holocaust.

As a participant in the program, I’ll go on the record and report that the care given by the producers to proper documentation for all Communist crimes and Communist quotes amounted to a fetish. This care, of course, accounts for the program’s devastating effectiveness—and thus the anguished reaction by liberals.

“The Liberal cannot strike wholeheartedly at the communist for fear of wounding himself in the process," wrote James Burnham in his classic Suicide of the West. This little gem did much to explain the theme in the opening lines of this article. But so vividly did Revolutionary Holocaust document Communist butcheries—from Stalin’s to Mao’s to Fidel Castro and Che Guevara’s-- that now some liberals are trying to weasel away from their years of alibis and rationalizations for the mass-murder.

The Glenn Beck special is now catching heat from “mainstream” liberal sources who claim no “mainstream” media or academic sources in fact herald the Communist icons as claimed on the special. To this end an article in Politico quotes Clemson professor and Harvard PHD, Steven Marks: "No one in their right mind is going to defend Stalin or Mao or Che Guevara,"

Oh?

Exhibit A: Time Magazine honors Che Guevara among "The 100 Most Important People of the Century." Not satisfied with such a paltry accolade they list him in the "Heroes and Icons" section, alongside Anne Frank, Andrei Sakharov, Rosa Parks and Mother Theresa.

Exhibit B: “Innocent people were not executed in significant numbers, (by Che and Castro.) Che presented a Christlike image, with his mortuary gaze it is as if Guevara looks upon his killers and forgives them." (Jorge Castaneda. Global Distinguished Professor of Politics and Latin American Studies. Visiting professor at Princeton and Berkeley, columnist for The Los Angeles Times, and Newsweek.)

Exhibit C: the cover of this very month’s GQ magazine (not exactly a “fringe” publication) features Che Guevara iconography on a smiling Johnny Depp.

Exhibit D: During last year’s presidential campaign, Obama campaign offices prominently displayed Che Guevara posters.
(Note: Che Guevara’s butcheries and Stalinist schemes were all orders from above, namely from his Stalinist boss, Fidel Castro, who appointed Guevara as his regime’s chief hangman.)

Exhibit E: “Fidel Castro is very shy and sensitive, a man I regard as a friend." Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate, George Mc Govern:

* “Viva Fidel! Viva Che!” bellowed while arm in arm with Fidel Castro himself. (Democratic Presidential candidate, Jesse Jackson.)

* “Fidel Castro first and foremost is and always has been a committed egalitarian. He wanted a system that provided the basic needs to all -- enough to eat, health care, adequate housing and education. Cuba has superb systems of health care and universal education” (Democratic President James Earl Carter)

* “Fidel Castro is Cuba’s Elvis!” (former ABC anchorman Dan Rather)

* “Fidel Castro is an absolutely fascinating figure!” (NBC’s Andrea Mitchell)

* “Fidel Castro is one helluva guy!” (Ted Turner)

* “Fidel Castro has done good things for Cuba.” (Colin Powell)

Time and space restraints do not allow a listing of accolades to Castro/Stalinism from Hollywood folks.

The Toast of Manhattan!" crowed Time magazine about Fidel Castro's reception by Manhattan's Beautiful People on his visit to address the U.N. General assembly in 1996, upon the U.N.'s 50th anniversary celebrations.

"The Hottest Ticket in Manhattan!" read a Newsweek story that week, referring to the social swirl that engulfed Castro. After Fidel's whooping, hollering, foot-stomping ovation in the General Assembly, he was fĂȘted by New York's best and brightest, hobnobbing with dozens of Manhattan's glitterati, pundits and power brokers.

First, there was dinner at the Council on Foreign Relations, (CFR). After holding court there for a rapt David Rockefeller, along with Robert McNamara, Dwayne Andreas and Random House's Harold Evans, Castro flashed over to Mort Zuckerman's Fifth Avenue pad, where a throng of Beltway glitterati, including a breathless Mike Wallace, Peter Jennings, Tina Brown, Bernard Shaw and Barbara Walters, all jostled for a brief tryst, cooing and gurgling to Castro's every comment.

All clamored for autographs and photo ops. Diane Sawyer was so overcome in the mass killer's presence that she rushed up, broke into that toothy smile of hers, wrapped her arms around Castro and smooched him warmly on the cheek.

"You people are the cream of the crop!" beamed the mass-murderer to the smiling throng that surrounded him.

"Hear, hear!" chirped the delighted guests while tinkling their wine glasses in appreciation and glee.

But the mass-murderer had barely scratched the surface of his fan club. According to the U.S. Cuba Trade and Economic Council, on that visit Castro received 250 dinner invitations from Manhattan celebrities and power brokers.
