Happy Thanksgiving! President Abraham Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1863 Called the Nation to Give Thanks to God

Video:  Happy Thanksgiving! President Abraham Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1863 Called the Nation to Give Thanks to God

Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving thanks to God is part of the very fabric of our nation, even since before we were a nation. The first settlers who came to America came looking for religious freedom, and they did not forget to thank God for His blessings even in the midst of difficult circumstances. May we have that same spirit and fortitude.

Here is a video that shares the words of President Abraham Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1863 – right in the middle of the Civil War. Lincoln’s words reflect the kind of spirit that built and preserved this nation. That faith and reliance on God exhibited by Lincoln, and by so many through the history of our nation, may be in the minority today, but it is still alive and will hopefully flourish once again. I hope you and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

How will History judge President George W. Bush??

If the American people judge President George Bush with an impartial eye and view of his presidency they will because of his record while serving in office have to admit that he has been very successful in fulfilling his duties of office and to the American citizens. President Bush's term in office has been a test that other men of lesser character placed in the office of president would have failed. This country because of President Bush's strong character and determination to defend this country and its citizens has done just that and as a result we haven't suffered terrorist attacks in this country since 9-11. We all should be thankful that President George Bush didn't place Political considerations or political correctness above his duty to defend the American people and even though he knew that his actions wouldn't please his liberal leftist detractors and those who placed political party above all other considerations he refused to be swayed by their harangues and demagoguery.

How will President George Bush be judged by history, The honest assessment of his Presidency will confirm that the only judgment that can be given will be, "Job well done."
