Columbine Remembered -- What a great speech!

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.”

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today:

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc.

Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA... They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of  massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!

My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Do what the media did not - - let the nation hear this man's speech…  Please send this out to everyone you can.

God Bless~

Grassroots Movements and Tea Parties Are in the Wind

After only 50-days into Obama's term there are Grassroots Movements and Tea Parties in the wind all across the United States.  As of Friday March 13th there were 141 Tea Parties planned in 12 States for Tax Day, April 15th 2009, and not to celebrate or join the Obama vision of Hope and Change…  Other organizers and radio stations are encouraging Americans to mail tea bags to the White House and the Congress between now and Tax Day while others are planning to dump tea in the Chesapeake.

My new favorite tea company

Eric Odom reports that the Portsmouth Tea Company in Somersworth, NH has volunteered to donate 70 pounds of tea for the Tax Day Tea Party protests scheduled for April 15.

“The real power to create change, real change, resides in you.” said Glenn Beck of Fox News and author of The Christmas Sweater on Glenn Beck Day, Friday March 13th.  People all around the United States joined him for celebrations and parties in the “You Are Not Alone” movement that Glenn has started in conjunction with his http://www.the912project.com/ website a type of think tank and online gathering place for the movement, called The 912 Project based on how we all felt on 9/12…the day after 9/11, 2001 and what was most important to most Americans on that day – God, family, friends, our Country, your core beliefs and our values.

People all around the Country are joining together to form a new grassroots movement.  And it has nothing to do with President Obama’s Hope and Change campaign rhetoric, rather a back lash grassroots movement against the Obama rhetoric, crazy spending, more taxation and socialistic ideas as well as some unpopular policies that began during the Bush years.  It is a movement of people: Republicans. Independents, Libertarians, Democrats, young, old, legal residents and American Citizens that have had enough and are tired of feeling alone, tired of feeling cheated and tired of being robbed of the Country they love.  Beck’s event scheduled on Glenn Beck Day galvanized the movement and challenged people to stand up and do something to create change, the change that the average American wants, not the change that is putting us on the road to socialism.

Glenn Beck started formulating his thoughts after receiving a call from a viewer of his show that was ready to give up and check out. He has started the “We Surround Them” Movement, which embraces 9 principles and 12 values of which 3 are the core values of the Navy Seals and our Armed Forces in general:  loyalty, integrity and honor.  Glenn had a host of guests on his show including a Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell and author of Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10, a Green Beret Ray Struba, Chris Gardner - survivor and Inspiration for Pursuit of Happiness, Ben Sherwood – author of The Survivors Club: The Secrets and Science that Could Save Your Life, David W. Checketts – Chairman & Founder, SCP Worldwide, and Chuck and Gina Norris – black belt, actor and author of Black Belt Patriotism: How to Reawaken America along with tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of everyday Americans at local events.

Below are the 12 values and 9 principles of the “WE Surround Them” Movement

The 12 Values

  • Honesty
  • Reverence
  • Hope
  • Thrift
  • Humility
  • Charity
  • Sincerity
  • Moderation
  • Hard Work
  • Courage
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Friendship

The Nine Principles

1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

You Are Not Alone!!!

The United States was built on and by people who believed in these principles and values as well as in the U.S. Constitution and the Bible but we have let concepts like social relativity and political correctness that often go against our personal and our Country’s core beliefs, replace them.  We have also gotten to the point where we, as a Country and a people, have allowed every group under the sun to dictate to us to allow their beliefs and traditions over ours.

We also do not have a liquidity problem in this Country; we have a problem of trust!

Ben Sherwood, author of The Survivors Club: The Secrets and Science that Could Save Your Life talked about the importance of surrounding ourselves with like-minded people.  It could even make a difference in our longevity.  Glenn encouraged everyone to sit around your kitchen table with friends and talk, really talk about how you feel, what you think and why.  It is okay to disagree.  It is not okay to become isolated. Sherwood said that social isolationism is what is killing us because it creates the feeling of being alone.  Ben Sherwood then said that the Navy’s expert on survival says the number “1” secret to surviving is ‘Faith in God’, something else we are afraid to admit to or talk about.  The size of the crowd in the emergency room relates directly to the survival rate in the operating room he said and we are isolating ourselves from community… neighbors, community, church; the small community let alone the larger one.

Chris Gardner, the inspiration for the movie Pursuit of Happyness praised Glenn Beck for organizing his event and appeared on Friday’s show.  He said that if he had been given a bailout instead of having to work and fight for himself and his son, he would not have been on the show or talking to Glenn and millions of viewers, and implied that he would probably still be living on handouts.  Gardner is funding a study himself to research the feasibility of giving every adult American Citizen and Legal Alien 1 million dollars instead of pumping Trillions into banks and companies that are failing and bankrupting this Country, after which they take the money to throw lavish parties and pay huge bonuses with our, taxpayer, money.  This author and many Americans have said and thought the same thing. Over the weekend, AIG had the audacity to tell us and the White House through Treasury Secretary Geithner to essentially go fly a kite and that he had no authority to stop them from paying out their millions in bonuses, while nothing of all this money is flowing down to Main Street after bankrupting generations of future Americans.  This bailout mentality is not working and it is not the American way. Democracy guarantees everyone an equal playing field and the opportunity to play on it, but it does not guarantee us success.

Even Michael Steele of the RNC was told on Friday by a friend after his latest goof, “You need to re-read the Constitution, the Bible and the RNC 2008 Platform” and make a decision to do your job for the people you represent.

Glenn closed by saying, “There are 3-types of people:  (1) the ones who were burying their heads in the sand on 9/10;  (2)  the ones who were overcome and living in fear on 9/11;  and (3) those who stood up, heads high, and did/and still do what is right.”  “Which kind are you?”, he asked.

Meet with your friends, around your kitchen table… Talk about your values; what you believe in, talk about what you are afraid of, talk about what you want and talk about what we have lost and need to find.  It is okay to talk about feelings, values and principles, politics, religion or God and what you think is wrong and needs to change.  It is okay to disagree.  In fact, intellectuals, media people, and just about everybody until we allowed liberal and socialistic ideas to take over our Country do and did 'agree to disagree', argue and speak their minds.  It is called freedom of speech and an exchange of ideas and it is something we have lost.

Glenn will have another event on 9/12 2009 to tell us all what he has done to change things and encourages us to do something as well and then share; something small, something big, many things… whatever you can do, but something, and his show and the The 912 Project will be there as support until then.

It is Tea Time, My Friends~

Every... "Our" Country Needs A Leader Like This! (Below)

Prime Minister John Howard – Australia

Every... "Our" Country Needs A Leader Like This!

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:

'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on  Bali  , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.  I am an immigrant... and I say, "AMEN!"
