Happy Easter 2014

Over 2 billion people are celebrating Easter today, April 20, as the calendars of Western and Eastern churches coincide this year, and these billions of faithful people are celebrating HOPE

But not only have the calendars of the Eastern and Western Christian Churches coincided but this week has also been a celebration of hope and freedom, with Passover starting last Monday night and continuing through the weekend until next Tuesday. Which of course also coincides with Holy Week, which culminates this weekend with Easter Sunday. This linkage is entirely appropriate, since Jesus had come to Jerusalem for the Passover ceremonies and the famous Last Supper was a Passover Seder… the ritual meal where Jews all over the world retell the story of the Exodus, celebrate their God-given freedom and eat the unleavened bread, matzoh, to commemorate their ancestor’s journey and deliverance from bondage and slavery.

The story of the Resurrection is a story of freedom too… freedom of the soul and a promise of eternal life to believing Christians who understand what the rolling away of the stones means for them.

Both holidays change their dates on our calendar from year to year, Passover or Pessah in Hebrew, because it is based on the centuries old Hebrew calendar and Easter because the early Church fathers determined that Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the Paschal Full Moon date of the year, which always occurs after Passover.

However, it’s rare that the two holidays occur this close together and in this momentous year, when Judeo-Christian values seem to be under siege, I likewise see in that a sign of hope for the future.

I and my friends here at the Daily Thought Pad and on the Watcher’s Council wish you and yours Chag Pessach Sameach and a Blessed Easter.

Google Honors Cesar Chavez on Easter

Dedicated  to those who don’t think there is a war on Easter or Christmas, Christianity and America’s values, traditions and the U.S.  Constitution:

Feeling lucky comrade? It’s exactly what you would expect from Google, whose motto is “Don’t be evil.” If they ever meant that, they failed miserably as proven by today’s home page which honors Socialist Cesar Chavez on Easter Sunday. It is a slap in the face to every Christian on the planet and is just downright evilly blasphemous. Google has been known for dissing the Founder’s birthdays and American history in favor of Marxist ideals and Islamic tradition. This time, they really let their mask fall.

Take a trip down Marxist memory lane to Veteran’s Day 2010:

clip_image002

TIME Newsfeed – Veteran’s Day 2010

Here is a link to Google’s Doodles. Let’s just say it is enlightening.

At least Bing was not as bad – they displayed a beautiful picture of Ukrainian Easter Eggs for their chosen page today. I can live with that – but an avowed Alinsky Socialist who was honored by our Marxist president? That just pisses me off. I’m not the only one either.

clip_image004

The late Cesar Chavez was a labor organizer who founded the United Farm Workers Union. President Barack Obama released a statement in 2011 proclaiming March 31st “Cesar Chavez Day,” declaring, “I call upon all Americans to observe this day with appropriate service, community, and educational programs to honor Cesar Chavez’s enduring legacy.” It’s his 86th birthday and all the Marxists are celebrating one of the premier community organizers of their lifetimes.

Some background on Cesar Chavez is in order here:

The late United Farm Workers leader was trained by the famous Chicago agitator, Saul Alinsky. Obama’s mentor and idol. Marxists of a feather…

KeyWiki:

In 1947, Saul Alinsky hired Fred Ross, an experienced organizer among California’s migrant farmworkers. Ross built the Community Service Organization in several cities, mostly among Latinos, recruiting new members and identifying potential leaders through house meetings and one-on-one conversations. In San Jose, California, one of the people Ross recruited was César Chávez, whom Ross hired and trained as an organizer. Chávez would later adopt these organizing ideas in starting the United Farm Workers union.

Chavez linked arms with Communist Party USA members such as Bert Corona. He was closely tied to Democratic Socialists of America as well.

New Zeal:

Trained for several years in Chicago, by the great agitator Saul Alinsky, an inspiration to DSA, Hillary Clinton and Obama himself, Cesar Chavez worked with communists and socialists his entire career.

Chavez marched under the infamous slogan “Si se puede!” – later translated into English to become Obama’s 2008 campaign slogan “Yes we can!” Many of the same radicals that marched with Chavez wound up working with Barack Obama. An identical Marxist ideology was carried forward into the Obama Administration. Among the biggest names in the Alinsky/communist/socialist movement include former Obama Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, DSA icon Dolores Huerta and Los Angeles Mayor Anthony Villaraigosa. California’s 32nd District Rep. Judy Chu also has Chavez ties and was a long-time affiliate of the now defunct Communist Workers Party.

I have long said that if you can, don’t use Google. Use Bing or another search engine. Google is so prevalent though, it is difficult to do this. If you are a Christian or a Conservative Constitutionalist, your principles may dictate that you find a way to get away from this Marxist propaganda tool that is being wielded by Obama and his cronies.

Some will say Google is doing this just to get attention. No, they don’t need the attention. This is who they are. Google has only once honored Easter and that was in 2000. Must have been a slow year for Marxists.

Glenn Beck got it right as so many did on Twitchy:

clip_image005

So, let me get this straight… Google, which is a propaganda arm for Obama, celebrates a socialist radical and disses Easter and the Resurrection. That is Google’s right and it is our right to tell them to pound sand and go elsewhere. Bing is looking better and better these days.

Ben Shapiro at Breitbart had this to say:

This is not the first time that Google has chosen to honor leftists over tradition. Back on July 4, Google plastered the words “This Land Was Made For You And Me” in its logo, in honor of Communist fellow-traveler Woody Guthrie’s This Land Is Your Land. On Christmas, Google featured a holiday-themed logo that popped up this window: “Happy Holidays from Google!”

Google can, and likely will switch out to an Easter logo sometime today. But as millions of Christians return home from Easter vigil on the holiest day of their calendar, they are currently being greeted by Cesar Chavez in a white suit.

Remember, Obama, the Department of Education and the Common Core Standards are teaching in our schools that Cesar Chavez is a “hero of the people.” Only if you are Marxist is this true. And now you see the U.S. government in true fascist style, place ideologues over faith. Every time I see pictures such as Cesar Chavez or more commonly Barack Obama’s arrogant visage, I see snapshots of Stalin, Mao, Lenin and Hitler in my mind’s eye. The faces have changed, but not the Google evil message.

As Edward Bernays would remind us… Controlling the hearts and minds of the masses is all in the messaging:

The Council Has Spoken!! This Week’s Watcher’s Council Results - Easter Passover Edition

JoshuaPundit on Mar 29 2013:

Alea iacta estThe Council Has Spoken!, the votes have been cast, and we have the results for this week’s Watcher’s Council match up.

This is an important week for a lot of reasons.

It was the week of the Pessah, the Passover, the time when Jews the world over fulfill the mitzva of retelling the story of the Exodus and their delivery from the house of bondage, a time to celebrate as free men and women their G-d-given freedom and to eat the unleavened bread, matzoh, to commemorate their ancestor’s journey and deliverance from bondage and slavery and the giving of the Torah at Har Sinai. It is a time, according to the Mishnah, when every Jew should conduct himself as though he personally was redeemed from bondage by G-d’s own hand.

This is also Holy week, culminating in Easter Sunday, the day Christians celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. That too is a festival of freedom…freedom from sin, freedom of the soul and a promise of eternal life.

No, the rolling away of the stone does not only refer to a physical object.

Both holidays change their dates on our calendar from year to year..Passover because it is based on the centuries old Hebrew lunar calender, and Easter because the early Church fathers determined that Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the Paschal Full Moon date of the year, which always occurs after Passover. But they always come close together.

It is fitting and appropriate that the two holidays should be linked in this way. Jesus had come to Jerusalem for the Passover ceremonies and the famous Last Supper was a Passover seder. The bread Jesus spoke of as recorded in the Gospels was none other than the humble matzoh, the unleavened bread the Hebrew made because they were ‘in haste to depart’ from Egypt and had no time for it to rise.

At this time, when freedom is under attack in ways and in places where we never supposed it ever would be, it is important to reflect on the message of Passover and Easter, and how that message can freee of from bondage…especially the chains we forge ourselves.

I and my fellow Council members wish you and yours Chag Pessah Sameach and a blessed Easter.

Speaking of the Holy Land, after 4 years of a fairly hostile and contentious relationship, President Obama finally saw fit to visit Israel as president.

This week’s winning piece, Narcissus In The Promised Land Redux: Obama Learns You Can’t Fool All Of The People All Of The Time over at Joshuapundit was my reaction to the president’s trip and what occurred. Here’s a slice:

I could almost pity President Obama for having his nose rubbed in the truth of Abraham Lincoln’s famous statement if the mess wasn’t so thoroughly of his own making.

President Obama got a friendly, if skeptical reception in Israel, because most Israelis are in fact pro-American.But Israelis, particularly sabras are noted for looking at deeds rather than words and schmooze.

While they appreciated President Obama’s fine words on America’s commitment to Israel as an ally, they also remember his previous hostility, his repudiation of agreements made with Israel by President Bush and his call for them to re-divide Jerusalem and retreat to indefensible borders.

And they notice that he chose to land in Tel Aviv rather than Israel’s capitol Jerusalem, that he chose not address Israel’s Knesset, that he was ‘too busy’ to meet personally with victims of Palestinian terrorism even if they hold American citizenship, that he refused to invite students at Ariel University to his speech to Israeli students…simply because their university is located in Judea ( AKA The West Bank), even though it’s on land Jews purchased legally before Israel was even a state.

And many of them also noticed this map of Israel put out by Obama’s State Department in spokesman Ben Rhodes’ offical statement..that shows a map of Israel on the pre ’67 lines, without the Golan, Judea and Samaria or East Jerusalem:

In the president’s speech to Israeli students, he somehow forgot that over half a million Israelis (including a lot of the students he was speaking to) live in what he still refers to as ‘settlements’, saying that “Israelis must recognize that continued settlement activity is counterproductive to the cause of peace, and that an independent Palestine must be viable, that real borders will have to be drawn,” and warning that Israel “must reverse an undertow of isolation”.

In other words, Israel building homes and infrastructure for it’s people – bad, hurts chances for peace. The Palestinian Authority’s constant incitement against Jews, funneling donor aid to Hamas and using it to pay salaries to convicted killers in Israeli jails, holding up the murderers of Israeli civilians as role models and heroes? The actions of a peace partner!

Yes, that’s the looking glass world our Narcissus lives in, where his warped perceptions become ‘what everyone knows’.

Trying as usual to have it both ways, the president also said it was time for the Arab world to “take steps toward normalizing relations” with Israel and that “Palestinians must recognize that Israel will be a Jewish state, and that Israelis have the right to insist upon their security”.

How that’s going to be accomplished with the borders he proposes the president did not elaborate on.And that’s especially telling in view of the reception the president got in Ramallah from the Palestinians before he spoke to the students.

In our non-Council category, the winner was Sultan Knish with Night Falls on Civilization submitted by The Noisy Room. All I can say is read it for yourself.

OK, here are this week’s full results. Gay Patriot and Rhymes With Right were unable to vote this week, but neither was subject to the mandatory 2/3 penalty

See you next week! Because of Easter Sunday, this week’s Forum will not appear, but don’t forget to tune in a week from this Monday AM for the Watcher’s Forum, as the Council and their invited special guests take apart one of the provocative issues of the day with short takes and weigh in…don’t you dare miss it. Sequestration Sacrifices Are Obviously Only For Us and Our Kids

Amazing how there are funds for Sasha and Malia to head to Idaho, the Bahamas (and Mexico  last year) with Secret Service in tow for Spring Break, but no funds for the rest of America’s kids to visit the White House (the People’s House) or have an Easter Egg Roll on the White House Lawn… finally reinstated after an uproar from the public; Obama even played the Jesus card in his Easter message…  no doubt hoping to appease “We the Sheeple” and to take the focus off the first daughters’ trip(s)?

Idaho Station Removes First Daughters Ski Trip Report on White House Request

Breitbart.com: A local news affiliate in Idaho reported that the first daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, are on a Spring Break ski trip in Sun Valley, Idaho. The story quickly spread across the Internet when picked up by the highly trafficked Drudge Report website.

But hours later, the story disappeared from the KMVT website without an update or correction.

Video:  Obama Daughters Hit Slopes

In March of last year, the White House requested media outlets to remove accurate reports that Malia Obama was on a trip in Mexico with over two dozen Secret Service agents.

Earlier this week, Breitbart News broke the story that the Obama daughters spent part of Spring Break at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

***

UPDATE: The White House has confirmed the report was removed on their request. From Kristina Schake, Communications Director to the First Lady:

From the beginning of the administration, the White House has asked news outlets not to report on or photograph the Obama children when they are not with their parents and there is no vital news interest. We have reminded outlets of this request in order to protect the privacy and security of these girls.

Earlier this week, Breitbart News broke the news that the First Daughters were on a spring break trip in the Bahamas, with Secret Service protection in tow, despite staff shortages that the White House cited in closing tours to the public.

The cross-continental trip for the First Daughters represents an epic tour. The KMTV news report cited photo evidence that the First Daughters were on the ski slopes, but noted that it was "unclear" whether First Lady Michelle Obama had accompanied them.

Separately, Breitbart News received a tip Friday morning from a parent whose daughter encountered the First Daughters in Sun Valley: "My daughter found herself in the middle of the entourage as she exited a local shop."

Meanwhile, the White House remains closed to thousands of students traveling to Washington, D.C. over Spring Break.

President Obama canceled the public, self-guided tours in a bid to trim $2 million from the Secret Service budget. The full cost of the First Daughters' 2013 spring break travel and necessary security detail are unknown at this time. Presumably, the Secret Service costs could have covered at least a few weeks of public White House tours.

Most people, if they have a spring break vacation, have to choose between the beach or the slopes. The Obamas, however, are not most people.

Let us remember that the Feds, per the Obama administration, want the public to feel the pain of Sequestration to make the Republicans look bad.

It is, apparently, good to be King.

*Beware people… this will be our world, the have and have-nots, if we don’t snap out of our daze quickly. Just like in most of the rest of the world, we the masses, the sheeple, the lowly taxpayers will not be taking the trips… it will be the ruling elite, and most of the time, you won’t even get to see the pictures!

The Greatest Story Ever Told…

I was looking for words for my Easter greeting and then received the following in my inbox… it was exactly what my husband Tim and I had been talking about on our walk earlier in the day.  I couldn’t write or say it better:

Many of us grew up celebrating Easter as the holiday where a cute little bunny rabbit brought chocolate and other delicious treats for everyone to eat. All we had to do was look diligently for the eggs hidden around the house and eventually it would lead us to the only thing we cared about: that giant basket of goodies.

Easter Bunnies

Many are still celebrating Easter in a similar fashion. It's become tradition - it's just what we do. This year I have a radical suggestion: start a new tradition. Something that goes much, much deeper than a furry rabbit & candy.

Now don't get me wrong - I'd be lying if I told you there was no chocolate involved in my Easter weekend. I'd also be lying if I told you there were no Peeps or other marshmallow-y related food products. Or jelly beans. Or Twizzlers. There's nothing wrong with having a little egg hunt & candy at Easter - it's fun. But there is something wrong when Easter becomes all about the bunnies and the eggs and the chocolate.

Easter is actually The Greatest Story Ever Told - yet mankind has managed to water it down to an opportunity to devour a few extra M&M's and are actually 'offended' when they hear it. How could that be? What's offensive about this: The very first Easter weekend - three days that changed the world forever - took place over 2,000 years ago. Mankind was lost, floundering - headed for destruction. But because God so loved the world, He gave his one and only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him will never die & have eternal life. And like the good Shepherd, Jesus laid down His life for the flock - and suffered greatly in doing so. He didn't have to - but He did. That is why we celebrate.

Joe Heller

And that is why we need to start a new tradition this Easter - whether you're Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Wiccan, still thinking about it (come on already!), etc - because the holiday has nothing to do with chocolate. It's about showing love. Instead of just pounding some creme eggs & jelly beans - reach out to a friend or neighbor or total stranger. Get to know them - and look for ways you can help them. Donate your time. Donate some food. Whatever it is, just find a way to help someone in need.

America's woes are easily solvable with that one, powerful, incredible word: love. That is why we are gathering this summer for Restoring Love in Dallas at Cowboys Stadium - to remind people of our greater purpose and stir us to action. It's also why I have great hope - because I know the American people & what we are capable of when we put our minds, and more importantly our hearts, to something.

I look forward to hearing about your new Easter tradition - one that I believe will save the country.

Have a great Easter!

Laus Deo,

Glenn Beck - April 6, 2012 (A man who has been demonized and could use our prayers as well!)

If you don’t know the story make it a goal to go to a church on Easter Sunday or an Easter pageant, watch a video, pick up the Bible or ask someone to tell you the story… It could change your life, even if it doesn’t convert you.  As Glenn says… It is a story of love.

I grew up a Christmas-Easter Catholic; my parents were burnt out Catholic school survivors from Europe, where the nuns ruled the classroom and the church had a lot of affect over their lives… until the Nazis took over. My husband occasionally went to church with the neighbors when he was a child and neither of us went to church regularly until we found a church together and re-dedicated our lives at age 40.  Yet because life was different when we grew up, we had enough of the basics and knew enough of the teachings that God and tradition were always part of our lives and decisions.  ‘He’ was at the center of American life.

The 14 years we spent involved with our children in the Glory of Easter (and Christmas) pageants and other church activities were some of the best of our lives.  They gave each holiday real meaning… not just baskets, bunnies, presents, trees, parties and celebrations.

What Easter Is Really All About~

Jesus' Death - 60 seconds to understand
60 seconds with God...
For the next 60 seconds, set aside whatever you're doing and take this opportunity and then share it!
Let's see if Satan can stop this.

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS

Christ Has Risen

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty.

At the time crucifixion was the "worst" death. Only the worst criminals condemned to be crucified. Yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus, unlike other criminals condemned to death by crucifixion, Jesus was to be nailed to the cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails were driven into His wrist. Not into His palms as is commonly portrayed.

There's a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder.

The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the wrist, that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support himself so that He could breathe.

Both of His feet were nailed together.

Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross.
Jesus could not support himself with His legs because of the pain, so He was forced to alternate between arching His back then using his legs just to continue to breathe.

Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.
Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.
Yes, over 3 hours!

Can you imagine this kind of suffering?

A few minutes before He died, Jesus stopped bleeding.

He was simply pouring water from his wounds.

From common images, we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side...

But do we realize His wounds were actually made in his body.

A hammer driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped and an even large nail
hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear.

But before the nails and the spear, Jesus was whipped and beaten.

The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body.

The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face.

The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp.

Most men would not have survived this torture.

He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds.

The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of his blood;

He had three nails hammered into His members; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His chest.

All these without mentioning the humiliation…

He passed after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, here His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience, so that you can have free access to God.
So that your sins could be "washed" away.
All of them, with no exception!
Don't ignore this situation.

JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU!

For you, who now read this.

Do not believe that He only died for others (those who go to church or for pastors, bishops, etc).

He died for you! It is easy to pass jokes and false witness statements by e-mail, but when it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward to others because you are worried of what they may think about you.

Accept the reality, the truth that JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD.
God has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced to save you.

Now think about this!

May God bless your life!

All you have to do is:

1.   Simply pray for the person who shared this message to you:

2. Then copy and send this message to 10 people... More if you wish.

3. 10 people will pray for you and you will make that many people pray to God for other people.

4. Take a moment to appreciate the power of God in your life, for doing what pleases Him.

If you are not ashamed to do this, please, follow Jesus' instructions. He said (Matthew 10:32 & 33):

"Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before My Father in heaven; but whosoever denies Me before others, I also will deny before My Father in heaven."

If you believe, share this message...

But send it only if you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Yes, I love God.
He is my source of life and my Savior.
He keeps me alive day and night.
Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."  Philippians 4:13.

This is the simple proof.

If you love God and you are a believer and trust in salvation through Jesus Christ,
share this to all those you love.

'Obama drafting potential new peace proposal'   =  the peace treaty in Jerusalem significance in the Bible

Thursday, April 21, 2011 1:37:30 PM · by 444Flyer · 10 replies

JPost.com ^ | 4-21-11 | Staff

White House officials  are working furiously on new negotiation plan, 'New York Times' reports; Clinton calls for immediate resumption of talks. US President Barack Obama's advisers are working to draft a fresh potential Israeli-Palestinian peace proposal, The New York Times reported Wednesday. The conceivable proposal will address the four major sticking points which have repeatedly foiled negotiations in the past three decades, the Times said. Those include the right of the return for Palestinian refugees, a desire which Obama will likely declare untenable, as well as the bifurcation of Jerusalem. Obama's plan was tipped to call for the division of Jerusalem,...

I love dying Easter Eggs, and making baskets for the kids dressed in their new Sunday best as much as the next Mom, Grandma, Aunt, God-Mother or neighbor!  But let us make sure that they understand that new clothes, Easter eggs, baskets of goodies and the Easter Bunny are the fun and entertainment for Easter… not the reason for or the essence of Easter.

If we are not taking our kids to church or Sunday school and teaching them what Christianity and the birth and death of Christ is all about, we are cheating them.  We are not doing our job as parents, grandparents and most especially Christians!!  That then rolls over to American youth not understanding the Judeo-Christian principles that the Founding Fathers of America used as a basis for the American Bill of Rights, Constitution, foundation of law and the standards for American society.  When we stopped taking our kids to church and let the Progressives re-write American history, we started to lose the country and foundation for Freedom that we knew and loved.  If you understand the Bible and true American history (from Original sources), you know that America was a God inspired nation.

One of the greatest gifts we ever received was our family being part of the casts of Glory of Easter and Glory of Christmas for the Crystal Cathedral for over 8-years, and then our daughter went on to fly several more as one of the Angels, during her college years.  It was a five week daily commitment for Easter and my husband portrayed one of the thieves on the cross who died with Christ.  There was not a day that passed that our hearts were not touched as the scene of Christ’s death was enacted.  And being part of sharing that with others and then greeting many of the audience members after the show was much more of a gift than the time spent or schedule inconveniences that people always questioned, commented on or used as excuses not to get involved themselves.

This Easter and Passover Season freedom of religion, Christianity and Judaism has been under attack not only around the world but here within the United States.  It is something that we cannot ignore!! Freedom of religion is one of the cornerstones of America and the primary reason the Pilgrims and others came here from England.  Prayer is one of our greatest weapons… if we use it!  Do you remember the story of the women of Brazil credited for saving their country by banding together in prayer?

Let us all remember and celebrate the true meaning of Easter today!!

Earth Day vs. Good Friday ... Beyond Disrespect and Who Wins?

Earth Day vs. Good Friday ... who wins?

This year Earth Day landed on the same day as Good Friday. Which one of these holidays will get more coverage in the media? Ok, don't answer that. Earth Day is already off to a head start as kids are being indoctrinated and forced to sing songs about keeping the Earth 'wild' for the future of 'great- grandchild' among other ridiculous chants, including encouraging kids to boycott big businesses. Maybe they'll start with Apple, who was just named 'least green' tech company (even though Al Gore sits on the board). Glenn plays the disturbing indoctrination and responds on radio today.

Beyond Disrespect

The movie "Corpus Christi" is due to be released this June to August. A disgusting film set to appear in America later this year depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theatres for a while.  It's called "Corpus Christi" which means "The Body of Christ".  It's revolting mockery of our Lord. But we can make a difference.

That's why I am sending this e-mail to you. If you do send this around, we just might be able to prevent this film from showing in America.  Let's stand for what we believe in and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Savior. Where do we stand as Christians? At the risk of a bit of inconvenience, I'm forwarding this to all I think would appreciate it, too. Please help us prevent such offenses against our Lord. There is no petition to sign, no time limit, or minimum number of people to send this to.. It will take you less than 2 minutes!

If you are not interested and do not have the 2 minutes it will take to do this, please don't complain when God does not have time for you because He is far busier than we are. Hey it's worth a shot!

Apparently, some regions in Europe have already banned the film. All we need is a lot of prayer and a lot of e-mails.

JUST GET THE WORD OUT  ....Will God be able to find at least 50 righteous people who are willing to express their concern and voice their opinion against this act of blasphemy

Holy Week: Media Worship Earth Day, Attack Easter

By Erin R. Brown | April 20, 2011 | 09:49clip_image001

Easter is the quintessential Christian holiday - the celebration of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. Although it has been celebrated by billions of people around the world for nearly 2,000 years, the mainstream media would rather celebrate the liberal holiday known as "Earth Day" and connect Easter to the abuse scandal that surrounded the Roman Catholic Church in a country where 76% of the population consider themselves active Christians, 86.2% say they are from a Christian background and America itself was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and values.  Some major Findings:

Media Undermine Christian Holiday: Nearly two thirds of all stories about Easter were negative (22 out of 34).

Easter Used to Attack Catholic Church: Ninety-one percent of the negative Easter stories were about the pedophilia scandal in the Roman Catholic Church.

Love That Mother Nature: 100 percent of Earth Day stories were positive.

Holy Week marks the seven days between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. Christians around the world celebrate it by attending services, praying and piously observing the holiday.

But in 2010, ABC, CBS and NBC evening news shows mentioned "Easter" primarily in connection to the pedophilia scandals that swirled around the Vatican last year, being sure to highlight the "gravest outrage," "scandal," "sexual abuse" and "crisis."

Instead, the networks chose to worship something else: Mother Earth. In contrast to Easter, the 40-year-old eco-holiday Earth Day that focuses on the "plastic lying around the earth" and "going green," managed to get nothing but positive attention from the broadcast media.

The Culture and Media Institute examined reports during Holy Week (Mar. 28 through Apr. 4, 2010) and Apr. 15, 2010, through Earth Day to contrast the two weeks of media coverage.

Easter: a Chance to Bash Catholic Church

ABC's "World News Saturday" provided the perfect juxtaposition of how the networks disparaged Easter and praised Earth Day in 2010. "This is the holiest weekend in the Christian calendar," said ABC's Dan Harris on April 3, 2010. "But Easter is providing no respite whatsoever from what may be the gravest outrage in the modern history of the Catholic Church."

The next evening, Harris again used the word "outrage" saying, "on this Easter Sunday, an extraordinary effort to defend the pope amid growing public outrage over pedophile priests ... an apparent reference to the continuing crisis over pedophile priests. It was a very rare altering of the Vatican's Easter celebration."

The tone of Harris' reporting was a stark contrast to that of fellow ABC anchor Diane Sawyer's April 22 Earth Day commentary.

"And on this Earth Day we told you about the plastic lying around the earth," Sawyer said on "World News." "Well what if you could take it and turn it into an answered prayer for some children? One woman did just that. It's the American heart."

Harris' broadcasts were just 2 examples from the 22 negative stories about Easter in a total of 34 stories the Culture and Media Institute examined.

NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams showed the same pattern as ABC in its reporting on the Vatican's scandal. "This, of course, is Good Friday," Williams said on April 2, 2010. "And in a service at the Vatican today there was an unusual defense of the pope and the growing sexual abuse scandals in the Catholic Church."

NBC correspondent Anne Thompson weighed in on the scandal as well saying, "On a rainy Roman morning, the Vatican produced a typical Easter Mass with all the pomp and pageantry - until Cardinal Angelo Sodano rose to speak, offering not a prayer, but a vigorous defense of Pope Benedict, accused by some of not doing enough to protect children from abusive priests." Thompson's remarks came on Easter Sunday.

She continued to discuss the crisis throughout the broadcast, later stating, "Throughout Europe, the scandal dominated Easter services … And in the pope's homeland, in Munich, the traditions of Easter, for just a day, superseded the pain many feel at the disclosures that some priests abused children for decades."

But when the relatively young holiday known as "Earth Day" rolled around just 18 days later, NBC fell all over itself to promote awareness of the eco-celebration.
"As we said earlier, this is Earth Day, the 40th anniversary, in fact, of what's considered the birth of the modern environmental movement," anchor Brian Williams said on "Nightly News." "On this Earth Day there was this item in the news today, a way to remind us all to take a fresh look at something we look down and see just about every day: cigarette butts. Not only are they the most common form of litter, they are filled with toxins, every one of them that can leach out into the environment and make their way into drinking water supplies and pets, among other things."

Not to be outdone, the CBS "Evening News" took the opportunity to chime in on the unfortunate Catholic priest abuse scandal as well. Russ Mitchell said: "On this Easter Sunday, an unusual statement from a Vatican official in defense of the pope, Pope Benedict XVI who has been accused of not doing enough to address charges of sexual abuse in the church."

Yet, "Evening News" fill-in anchor Maggie Rodriguez just couldn't seem to say anything bad about Earth Day. "Today, Earth Day turned 40, and a new CBS News poll shows that many Americans have big concerns about the future of our planet," she said on April 22. "Nearly half expect the environment to be in worse shape for the next generation."

Not All Negative Easter Stories About Scandal
The networks couldn't seem to produce a truly positive or even neutral story about Easter, without then immediately throwing Christians under the bus.

Dan Harris' "World News Sunday" report on Easter was a prime example. "The weather was perfect here in New York City today for the annual Easter Parade," Harris said casually about the Christian holiday. "On display during the traditional stroll up Fifth Avenue, elaborate and imaginative homemade hats. Amazing some of these people could hold their heads up under all that."

But Harris couldn't leave viewers with a neutral impression of Christians and Catholics - he immediately painted a negative picture of Christians with this tease: "Coming up next, the apocalyptic Christian militia jailed for plotting war against the government."

Few Positive Easter Stories
There were only nine positive mentions of Easter from the network news evening shows during Holy Week last year. In one of them CBS "Evening News" anchor Katie Couric wished viewers a "great weekend and a happy Easter," and it was these casual, but positive mentions of Easter that accounted for seven of the nine positive mentions.

Another one came from Natalie Morales, a NBC "Nightly News" correspondent who mentioned that "In Washington this Easter Sunday, President Obama and the first family took time out for prayer and reflection before the chief executive gets back into business."

Just the Latest Problem with Holy Week Coverage
The Media Research Center reached out to the Catholic League for comment and President Bill Donahue had this to say about the media's treatment of Catholics:
"The Catholic League has been tracking the way the media treat Holy Week for many years, and what we have unfailingly found is one of three things: a) the mainstream media do a news story, magazine article or TV special questioning the divinity of Jesus, or b) some fraud comes forth with some absurd claims doubting whether Jesus was actually raised from the dead, or c) a music video is released that is designed to tweak the sensibilities of Christians. It's all deliberate and it's all selectively targeted."

Conclusion
The abuse scandal that surrounded the Catholic Church in recent years is a genuine tragedy, and a scandal worthy of media attention. But the network evening news shows pushed the liberal, anti-Catholic agenda by devoting most of their Holy Week coverage of Easter to highlight that some Catholic priests abused children.

By comparison, Earth Day has nowhere near the national or international prominence that Easter has. While the United Nations designated April 22 as International Mother Earth Day, the United States does not recognize this day as a federal holiday. Easter, on the other hand, though always observed on a Sunday is recognized in schools as students are on "Spring Break," formerly called "Easter Break" and the two week Congressional "Spring Recess."

Methodology
2011 marks a unique year in that "Earth Day" falls right in the middle of "Holy Week." The Culture and Media Institute analyzed how the media treated the two holidays last year.

In 2010, ABC, CBS and NBC evening shows denigrated Christians by mentioning Easter only in connection with the priest abuse scandals 65 percent of the time, during Holy Week. By contrast, the week of Earth Day garnered five mentions and, predictably, every single report was positive.

There were a total of 34 stories about Easter, of those 22 were negative. Of the negative stories, 91 percent (20 stories) were about the Catholic priest pedophilia scandal. Only 9 Easter stories were positive and of those, 7 were casual mentions rather than stories. The other 3 stories were neutral or generic references to Easter as a time of the year.

There were five stories about Earth Day all of which glowingly featured the Earth-celebrating holiday.
