The Flipside of Feminism

The Flipside of Feminism: What Conservative Women Know -- and Men Can't Say

Book Review:

What if everything you've been told about women in America is wrong? What if what your college professors taught you - along with television, movies, books, magazine articles, and even news reports - have all been lies or distortions?

Since the 1960s, American feminists have set themselves up as the arbiters of all things female. Their policies have dominated the social and political landscape. The "spin sisters" in the media (aptly named by Myrna Blyth in her book of the same name) and their cohorts in academia are committed feminists. Consequently, everything Americans know -- or think they know -- about marriage, kids, sex, education, politics, gender roles, and work/family balance, has been filtered through a left-wing lens.

But what if conservative women are in the best position to empower American women?

Forty years have passed since the so-called women's movement claimed to liberate women from preconceived notions of what it means to be female -- and the results are in. The latest statistics from the National Bureau of Economic Research show that as women have gained more freedom, more education, and more power, they have become less happy.

Enough, says Suzanne Venker, an emerging young author, and veteran warrior Phyllis Schlafly. It's time to liberate America from feminism's dead-end road. Cast off the ideology that preaches faux empowerment and liberation from men and marriage. While modern women enjoy unprecedented freedom and opportunities, Venker and Schlafly argue that this progress is not the result of feminism.

Women's progress has been a natural evolution - due in large part to men's contributions. American men are not a patriarchal bunch, as feminists claim. They have, in fact, aided women's progress. And like women, they have been just as harmed by the feminist movement.

In "The Flipside of Feminism," Venker and Schlafly provide readers with a new view of women in America -- one that runs counter to what Americans have been besieged with for decades. Their book demonstrates that conservative women are, in fact, the most liberated women in America and the folks to whom young people should be turning for advice. Their confident and rational approach to the battle of the sexes is precisely what America needs.

Reviews

"A gutsy and profound book. Those who crave the truth will inhale "The Flipside of Feminism," while those beholden to feminism will resist it. For both, "Flipside" is a must-read. Schlafly and Venker show how insidious the feminist movement is - and what is its real motive." ...Ann Coulter

"The Flipside of Feminism" exposes the lies at the core of the feminist agenda: there is no difference between men and women, the hook-up culture is liberating, women are oppressed victims in the home and office, and children are fine when left all day in daycare. Those who consider themselves 'socially liberal but fiscally conservative' will re-examine their attitudes after reading this book." ...Mark Levin

"My friend Phyllis Schalfly has been a tireless warrior against the feminists' ongoing cultural assaults on this nation and refuses to allow their attacks to proceed under the radar while so many other important issues consume our attention and energy. Phyllis and Suzanne Venker, have written a powerful expose on the feminists' war on traditional values and, ultimately, on the true value of women and family. In The Flipside of Feminism they provide a practical guide for reclaiming what should never have been lost." ...David Limbaugh

"Suzanne Venker and Phyllis Schlafly have written a courageous and illuminating book on the oppression of women by the feminist left. Everyone of sound mind should read and learn from this book." ...David Horowitz

The Flipside of Feminism

I love this woman, Phyllis Schlafly. Her words ring true that "American women are the most fortunate people that ever lived on this earth." And not because of feminists but because of our good men!

Parents should stop pushing or encouraging their daughters to join male sports to prove their equality. They are teaching their daughters to emasculate males instead of embracing their femininity and loving and caring for our men. Girls don't have to play football with boys or wrestle boys to prove anything. They should be learning how to become women instead of trying to become men.

Too many powerful women have been demonized and minimized by the feminist movement.

There are many women like Phyllis Schlalfly, Nancy Reagan, Jacqueline Kennedy and Abigail Adams who were the confidents, social secretaries, and behind the scenes operatives for their husbands, had successful lives and projects of their own as well as raising children and fulfilling roles in the limelight with their husbands.  But Progressive history has been re-written to diminish their roles and  make their lives often look as though they lived in their husbands’ shadows.

Feminism has it roots in far more evil place than the average person has allowed themselves to think about… until now.

Feminism is a an outgrowth of the Progressive Plan to break down the family, emasculate men and take the mothers out of the home to leave the children to the collective to raise.

The Feminism Rouse

Feminism in the form that has been preached and promoted, really since the 1950’s and really taking hold in the 1960’s was never about helping women.  It was about tearing down the family unit; tearing down American and Judeo-Christian values and about making women unhappy because they were told they were.

NOW (the National Organization of Women) is the Perfect Example of what Feminism has created.

When you look at the women who thought they were following the feminist dream and are members of NOW, you generally find a bunch of unhappy and often lonely envious women who down deep, if they admitted it, would tell you that they are missing things in their life or feel unfulfilled.  They generally hate and refuse to support the women who really do have it all, unlike what they imagined was in their future.  And they look down on women who have chosen a more traditional route.

Times are Changing… Back

Conservative Women, who have families, supportive husbands, careers or educations that could have been turned into careers… whether they chose to stay home or pursue them, really are the ones who are and can make the changes we need.  NOW will not even defend women like Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Laura Ingraham or Elisabeth Hasselbeck and the list goes on covering almost all conservative women, because the feminists envy them.  They make them realize that they made the wrong choices.  Bill Maher lodged a vicious attack on both Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann over the weekend calling them bimbos and an uncalled for list of other names.  NOW barely whispered.  Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann are both smart, attractive successful women who also have supportive husbands and successful marriages, children, balanced careers around their families.  They can bring home the bacon, including shooting and cleaning game or fish for dinner, cook it and look great while moving onto their next task.  It is time we stop letting the Progressive Left, with an anti-family, anti-American, anti-God, anti traditional values agenda, tell us what feminism and success is and isn’t!

The Flipside of Feminism: What Conservative Women Know -- and Men Can't Say is a must read for all women and the men who make the Flipside of Feminism possible!
