Sample HC Letters to Congress…

March 4, 2010

Here are some sample letters to make it easier for any of you who want to fax, email or mail a letter to your Congressperson or Senator, but don’t know where to start or are just time tapped.

Final Letter to my Blue Dog…

Dear Congressman (or Senator) ______,

I am writing to express my absolute disgust at the President's arrogance and disregard for the wishes of the American people. I am hoping you are one of the few voices of reason in Washington right now. I, like you and our other elected officials, wear many hats every day. I am a mother of young children, a wife, a daughter of aging parents, an employee, a volunteer, a Christian... I am an American. And I have to tell you, like many other Americans I have come to know and called on my dear friends, new and old, this past year; I am tired of having to do the many jobs I am responsible for AND take on what has become the equivalent of an unpaid part-time (or more ) job, making sure our President and others that were elected to represent us in Washington are doing theirs. I have to tell you, I don't think many are.

I want you, as my representative, to know that I DO NOT SUPPORT this 2,000+ page monstrosity known as the Health Care bill or any slightly amended version of it. This year’s long show by the President and his cronies is not about giving the uninsured immediate help. It is about power, control, money and the fundamental transformation of a country that didn't need to be fundamentally transformed. If anything, this country needs to go back to the principles that it was founded on and that have set it apart from the rest of the world. I know, as well as you do, that this is about putting in place an infrastructure of ultimate government control. And Americans know who this President answers to – Andy Stern, SEIU & special interests. I have disagreed before with previous administrations, but never before have I felt such an absolute disdain for the wishes of the people by a their elected leaders. This is unacceptable.

I am pleased that we in _________ were able to count on you before to vote “no” on the House (or Senate) version of the health care bill.  I am hoping and praying that you still hold the same conviction and will again vote “no” for the Senate version that will come up for a vote in the House, or whichever comes up first using this distasteful process called Reconciliation.  I am a member of Asamom.org, a network of principled mothers, grandmothers and guardians – we are 60,000 strong, and there are many other groups just like us. Nancy Pelosi is dead wrong about any of this opposition being Astroturf… We are as grassroots as it gets. And we are watching all of you and will vote in 2010 and 2012 according to what we see , how you vote and based on your respect for the American People.

Thank you for your continued service to our community and our country.

Sincerely,

_____________

Thank You for Your Support Letter

Dear Congressman (or Senator )_____________

I am writing to thank you for your continued vote and fight against the present versions of Health care Reform (ObamaCare) and to express my absolute disgust at the President's arrogance and disregard for the wishes of the American people. I am grateful you are one of the few voices of reason in Washington right now and that you represent me.

I want to reiterate to you, as my representative, that I DO NOT SUPPORT this 2,000+ page monstrosity known as the Health Care bill or any slightly amended version of it. I have disagreed before with administrations in the past, but never before have I felt such an absolute disdain for the wishes of the people by a the majority of our elected leaders. This is unacceptable.

I am pleased that we in _________ are able to count on you to vote “no” on the House version of the health care bill,  or whichever version ends up being voted on first under this distasteful practice of Reconciliation, to represent the wishes of your constituents.  I am hoping and praying that you will share our feelings with those on Capital Hill who appear not to hear, care or even try to understand and represent the people who elected them. I am a member of Asamom.org, a network of principled mothers and grandmothers and guardians – we are 60,000 strong, and there are many other groups just like us. Nancy Pelosi is dead wrong about any of this opposition being Astroturf… We are as grassroots as it gets. And we are watching everyone in both houses of Congress and will vote in 2010 and 2012 according to what we see and each member’s respect for the American People.

Thank you again for your continued service to our community and our country.

Sincerely,

Letter to Progressive and Pro-Obama Representatives…

Dear Congressman (or Senator) ______,

I am writing to express my absolute disgust at the President's arrogance and disregard for the wishes of the American people. I have disagreed before with administrations in the past, but never before have I felt such an absolute disdain for the wishes of the people by a my elected leaders. This is unacceptable.

I am asking that you to rethink your position and vote against the Health care bill or any version of it and start over from scratch in a bipartisan manner in the future, after the 2010 or 2012 elections. We in _________ are hoping we can count on you to do the right thing… to vote “no” on the House or Senate version of the health care bill, whichever comes up for vote first in this distasteful Reconciliation process.  I am a member of Asamom.org, a network of principled mothers and grandmothers and guardians – we are 60,000 strong, and there are many other groups just like us. We have been told that most effective ways of communicating with our representatives in both the House and Senate is to call their offices (or go there) and then to fax or mail a letter.  Emails are a great backup but are easier for them to ignore.  If you can and you have a Congressman or Senator who is still teetering or who is a progressive liberal and is ignoring you and their other constituents… do it all: call, fax, email, mail another letter by snail mail and show up at their DC or local office.  The time is now and regardless of what you are hearing from the lame stream media… they still don’t have the votes, even for a straight up vote (Reconciliation) and are busy twisting arms.  Let your reps know that you will vote them out in 2010 0r 2012… whenever they come up for election next…

Please call, fax and write your congressman and Senators today and tell them:  Vote NO on ObamaCare or we will vote you out!!
